Chapter 29: Day Four of the Grand Magic Games Part 2
Jay could hear the cheering of the crowd as he stood with the reformed Fairy Tail team. The reformed Fairy Tail team was waiting to be called into the arena, every single member was still seething with rage at what was done to Lucy. While Jay waited for the signal to walk into the arena, he once again glanced at his guild mark. The Sabertooth guild mark that once brought him great pride was now gone and in its place was the mark of Fairy Tail.
"What's taking so long? I'm tired of waiting" stated Natsu in an angry tone while he slammed his fist together.
"Sabertooth is going to pay for what they did" stated Natsu, determined to make Sabertooth answer for what was done to Lucy.
"Calm down Natsu, you being angry won't help us" responded Erza in a stern tone despite that fact she was also seething with rage at what happened to Lucy during the naval battle.
"Erza's right, calm down before you do something stupid" stated Gray, trying his best to remain calm despite having to watch his guildmate and friend being beaten to a pulp.
"I can't help it, when I think about what was done to Lucy I get all fired up" responded Natsu, showing that he wasn't the least bit calmed down about the situation.
"I get why you are angry Natsu, but you need to" Erza started to say before she was cut off by Jay.
"Don't bother Erza. Nothing you say is going to calm down us down" responded Jay, showing that he was just as pissed off as Natsu was.
"I thought that I could change Sabertooth but now I see that I was wrong. Not a single member of the guild thought what Minerva did was wrong" stated Jay, clenching his fist in anger.
"I'm going to show them just how wrong they are, I'm going to enjoy pummeling Sabertooth into the ground. No one messes with my sister" stated Jay, thinking that he was going to enjoy showing his old guild the error of their ways with his fists.
"You took the words right out of my mouth Jay, Sabertooth is going down" responded Natsu, eager to get revenge for Lucy.
"Just don't let your anger cloud your judgement, you two are the ones fighting in the double battles so we need you to be sharp" responded Laxus, speaking to Natsu and Jay.
"Speaking of that, Jay why don't you tell us about Sting and Rouge's powers so we can be prepared" asked Erza, thinking that they would have an advantage if Jay told them about his old guildmates.
"I could tell you all about Sting and Rouge. As the three dragon slayers of Sabertooth we would go on plenty of jobs together and trained our magic side by side" responded Jay before he turned his attention towards Natsu.
"I could tell you about their powers, but I get the feeling Natsu doesn't want me to" stated Jay, a smile spreading across his face while Natsu returned Jay's smile.
"You got that right. I want to beat those losers fair and square" responded Natsu, eager to show everyone what he was made of.
"There you have it then Erza, Natsu and I are in agreement" responded Jay as he turned his attention back towards Erza.
"Fine, since you two are the ones fighting I won't press the issue" responded Erza.
"Just make sure you teach Sabertooth a lesson about what happens when you mess with Fairy Tail" stated Erza with an intense glare. Jay and Natsu smiled back at Erza, both eager to make Sabertooth pay.
"Don't worry Erza. As my first act as a member of Fairy Tail I will gladly teach my old guild a lesson" responded Jay with a smirk spread across his face.
"Oh yah I'm all fired up now" stated Natsu with his usual battle crazy smirk. Shortly after Natsu said these words, the announcers voice rang out through the area.
"So put your hands together and let's meet the new Fairy Tail team" shouted the announcer, the crowd cheering loudly in response.
"That's our signal, let's go" stated Laxus while the rest of the team nodded their heads in agreement. As Jay began to walk down the hallway and towards the arena with the rest of the reformed Fairy Tail team, various members of Fairy Tail commented about their new team.
"Go get them guys" stated Lucy with a smile on her face while she rested in the infirmary bed. Lucy might not be there to cheer on the team, but she knew that Jay and Natsu would win, she had complete faith in them.
"Master really did put together an amazing team" stated Mira with a smile on her face while Lisanna nodded her head in agreement.
"Your right Mira, the other guilds don't stand a chance" responded Lisanna, eager to cheer on Jay and Natsu in their upcoming fight.
"I bet your happy that your boyfriend is now a part of Fairy Tail" responded Mira in a teasing tone, making Lisanna blush a cute shade of red.
"M-Mira, don't say that too loud" responded Lisanna but it was too late.
"What's that? Boyfriend? Are you talking about Jay" asked Cana in a teasing tone.
"Hehe yup, I caught Jay and Lisanna in bed together this morning" responded Mira, oblivious to how embarrassed Lisanna was.
"Mira" exclaimed Lisanna while she was blushing crimson.
"Don't be embarrassed Lisanna, I've also taken the dragon for a ride" responded Cana in a teasing tone, thinking that if Lisanna was a part of Jay's harem then she should have a threesome with them later. While Lisanna continued to be teased about her new relationship with Jay, other members of Fairy Tail remarked about the new team representing them.
"It was nice of you Gajeel to give up your spot on the team to Jay" stated Levy with a smile.
"It was nothing. I understand where Jay is coming from" responded Gajeel, understanding how it felt like to come from a guild that turned out to be rotten.
"With this team Fairy Tail is sure to win" stated Juvia, eager to cheer on her Gray-sama. Juvia was also curious to see how strong Jay was, her pride as a fellow water mage meant she wanted to see Jay prove just how strong their shared element was.
"The spirit of our guild is truly an unstoppable force" stated Markov with pride in his voice.
"These five kids embody the spirit of our guild wholeheartedly" stated Markov thinking that even Jay embodied the spirit of Fairy Tail despite joining the guild mere minutes ago. Jay understood the importance of family. The same anger that Markov felt over Lucy was shared by Jay, he knew that Jay would fight his best for Fairy Tail.
"It's time to show the entire world the true power of our guild" stated Mavis with a smile, proud of the guild Fairy Tail had become since she founded it.
"We've been waiting for this moment" shouted one of the announcers, the crowd going wild for the new Fairy Tail team.
"It is my pleasure to introduce, the new team Fairy Tail" shouted the announcer while the crowd continued to loudly cheer. The cheering from the crowd gradually died down when the Fairy Tail team stepped into the arena, the cheering was replaced by murmurs of confusion.
"Wait why is Jay Heartfilia with the Fairy Tail team" asked a member of the crowd while countless others in the crowd voiced the same question. The confused murmurs of the crowd continued, everyone wondering why a member of Sabertooth was standing with the Fairy Tail team.
"There seems to be some confusion going around. Please sit tight and we will have an answer soon" stated the announcer, just as confused as the rest of the crowd. While the crowd continued to ask questions, Jay stepped forward.
"I can clear up the confusion" shouted Jay, everyone in the crowd focusing on Jay. Jay's face was displayed across the multiple lacrima vision screens, everyone was focused on what he was about to say. Jay lifted his right arm to bring attention to the new guild mark on his shoulder.
"This tattoo marks me as a member of Fairy Tail and as a proud wizard of Fairy Tail I will fight in these games" shouted Jay, shocked gasps ringing out throughout the crowd. The lacrima vision screens showed clearly that Jay no longer had the mark of Sabertooth.
"The rules clearly say that to participate in the games you must be a member of one of the guilds. I am a member of Fairy Tail so it is my right to fight on behalf of my new guild" shouted Jay with a determined look.
"Is this really okay" asked one of the announcers, confused if Jay could just switch guilds in the middle of the Grand Magic Games.
"There is nothing in the rules that state that a person can't quit their guild and join another. I suspect that after what Sabertooth did to Lucy Heartfilia, Jay quit Sabertooth in outrage and now wants to teach his old guildmates a lesson" stated Yajima, making sure his statement was picked up by his microphone so the rest of the arena heard him.
"You're damn right! What Minerva did was cruel, and I am going to show my old guild what happens when you mess with my family" shouted Jay before he turned his attention towards his old guild.
"I don't care if I was a member of Sabertooth minutes ago, you will all regret what you did" stated Jay while he glared at his old guildmates. The Sabertooth team returned his glare, they were just as eager to teach Jay a lesson in respect. Looking at the Sabertooth team, Jay noted that Rufus replaced him.
"You're the one that's going to regret quitting but I'm glad you did" stated Sting with a smile.
"You've been walking around lately thinking you're better than us and you don't like the way we do things in Sabertooth. I've been wanting to wipe that smile off your face for a while now so I'm glad I will get the chance to beat you" stated Sting thinking that he was going to show Jay how big of a mistake he just made. Not only did Jay quit Sabertooth, but he also joined their enemy.
"I invite you to try but we both know you've never beaten me before" responded Jay in a mocking tone.
"There's a reason why I was called the Battle King and not you" stated Jay with a mocking smile, knowing that his power was greater than Sting's.
"There's a first time for everything. Truth is the upcoming battle is two on two and you know Rouge and I's teamwork is flawless. You just joined Fairy Tail, you know nothing about your teammate" responded Sting in a confident tone.
"Water and Fire aren't a great mix" stated Rouge, agreeing that he had nothing to fear from Jay in their upcoming fight.
"It doesn't matter if Jay and I don't know each other's moves at all" responded Natsu in an angry tone while he recalled the badly beaten image of Lucy after the naval battle.
"All that matters is you hurt Lucy, which means Jay and I are going to make you pay" shouted Natsu while Jay nodded his head in agreement.
"Natsu's right. Lucy is the only family I have left, and I won't let someone hurt her like you just did without getting revenge" responded Jay while he made a silent promise to his deceased mother and father that he would make all of Sabertooth pay for what was done to Lucy.
"Lucy isn't the only one I'm fighting for though" stated Jay while he continued to angrily glare at the Sabertooth team.
"I'm fighting for Yukino also. You all called her trash for losing, well I'm going to make you eat those words when I beat you into the ground" stated Jay with a smile, thinking he could not wait for his upcoming match to start.
"You can fight for that useless trash all you want, it's not going to change what she is" responded Sting in a mocking tone.
"You take that back right now" stated Jay as he moved towards Sting. Jay was ready to start a fight right here and now but he was held back when Erza caught his arm.
"Jay not here, you will have your chance later" stated Erza in a serious tone. Jay was about to protest until he turned to face Erza and saw the same rage burning in her eyes. Erza was just as angry as he was, Jay remembered that his family wasn't the only one recently hurt by Sabertooth.
"I forgot for a moment you all are just as angry as I am. You all consider Lucy family don't you" asked Jay towards the Fairy Tail team, his anger towards Sting forgotten for the moment.
"Everyone in Fairy Tail is family, that includes you Jay" responded Erza in a steady tone, hoping that Jay would choose to not fight at this moment. To Erza's relief Jay seemed to calm down, choosing not to fight.
"Okay Erza, for now I'll do things your way" responded Jay. Shortly after Jay said these words he and the rest of the Fairy Tail team walked away from the arena. The first double match was about to being so all guilds expect for Blue Pegasus and Quatro Puppy had to clear out of the fighting area. As Jay walked through the long hallway and towards the area the Fairy Tail team was assigned to watch the matches from, he turned his attention towards Erza.
"Thanks Erza" stated Jay with a friendly smile.
"Thanks for what exactly" asked Erza in a curious tone as the team continued to walk through the long hallway.
"Thanks for talking me down back there. Now that I'm calm I realize it would have been bad for the team if I started an unsanctioned fight" responded Jay with a grateful smile. Jay didn't like not being in control of his emotions, especially his anger. Some of Jay and Lucy's worst childhood memories involved their father not properly controlling his anger and Jay didn't want to adopt the same habit. With everything that happened with Lucy and Yukino, Jay figured it wasn't entirely his fault for letting his anger control his actions, but he still should have a better lid on it in his opinion.
"You're welcome but it wasn't a problem" responded Erza with an amused smile.
"Believe it or not but that wasn't the first time I've had to talk down one of my guildmates from starting a fight" stated Erza with a smirk.
"Who are you talking about Erza" asked Natsu in an oblivious tone.
"She's obviously talking about you flame breath" responded Gray in an annoyed tone.
"Hey you take that back! If Erza is talking about anyone then it's you ice prick" responded Natsu, matching Gray's annoyance. Natsu and Gray continued to argue for a few moments before Erza glared at them.
"You two aren't about to start a fight are you" asked Erza in an ice cold tone. Natsu and Gray immediately changed their attitude, they now acted like they were best friends.
"Of course not Erza" responded Natsu and Gray in unison. Seeing this interaction Jay chuckled, drawing Erza's attention back towards him.
"You guys are really fun. It's nice to be in a guild that knows how to just have fun instead of worrying about being the best all the time" stated Jay with a smile spread across his face.
"Hey we still care about winning, we are going to teach your old guild a lesson for what they did" responded Natsu, eager to get revenge for Lucy. Jay smiled at these words, agreeing that winning was a must. The difference now was Jay was fighting for someone else, he was fighting for Lucy and Yukino instead of himself. While Jay smiled at Natsu's words, Erza could see some sorrow hidden behind his smile.
"Jay you are a part of Fairy Tail now. Being a part of Fairy Tail means you are our family, if you ever need to talk about anything we are all here for you" responded Erza in a serious but comforting tone.
"Thanks Erza, that means a lot" responded Jay, enjoying having the support of others in his guild. In Sabertooth Jay could only really count on Yukino was that level of support. Fairy Tail was different, Jay could depend on everyone in the guild for support if he needed it.
"For now though I don't need to talk about anything" stated Jay with a determined look.
"All I need to do is show what happens when someone hurts my family" stated Jay, feeling a surge of anger as he recalled how badly Minerva beat Lucy.
Jay almost wished that he would be fighting against Minerva in the double battle instead of Sting and Rouge. Minerva was the source of most of his anger, out of everyone in the Sabertooth guild she was the cruelest by far. In Jay's opinion Minerva represented all the worst qualities of Sabertooth, the qualities that Jay had learned were wrong thanks to his observations of Fairy Tail. While Minerva was the worst, Sting and Rouge still deserved to learn a lesson. Sting and Rouge didn't protest when Yukino was publicly shamed and kicked out of the guild, instead they openly mocked her.
"Your damn right about that Jay. No one messes with Fairy Tail and gets away with it" responded Natsu, matching Jay's anger.
"Just make sure you can keep up with me Natsu. You seem strong but I haven't even begun to show off what I can do. It would be bad if I had to carry your weight during our fight" responded Jay with a friendly smile.
"You don't need to worry about me, I'm going to torch those losers. You're the one who won't be able to keep up" responded Natsu with a smile. Once again Jay had to admire how friendly Fairy Tail was, everyone in the guild seemed to genuinely care for one another. The team was silent for a moment as they continued to make their way towards the watching area until Jay broke the silence.
"I also want to thank all of you for being a good family to Lucy all these years. I'm grateful that Lucy wasn't alone and had so many people supporting her" responded Jay. Growing up Jay and Lucy didn't have a large family since their mother died when they were young, and their father threw himself into the Heartfilia business. Knowing that Lucy had a strong network of support made Jay grateful towards the Fairy Tail guild.
"Lucy will always have us to depend on, and she had you also Jay" responded Erza with a friendly smile. Jay nodded his head in agreement, he was glad that his big sister didn't have to feel alone anymore like she did during her childhood. Jay felt somewhat guilty for leaving Lucy when they were kids even though it wasn't his fault. Being sent away to boarding school to learn the family business was out of Jay's control but he still felt bad for leaving Lucy alone. Shortly after Erza said these words the Fairy Tail team arrived at their destination. Standing in the assigned observation area, Jay looked down into the arena.
"Based on what I know already about these fighters I would have to think Quatro Puppy is going to win" stated Jay, thinking that Bacchus was the strongest wizard in the middle of the arena. The Blue Pegasus guild had failed to show a single wizard so far that impressed Jay in the slightest. Blue Pegasus so far had shown only weak pretty boys and Jenny who cared more about her looks than developing her magical power.
"I wouldn't count Ichiya out just yet. Ichiya might be strange, but he is strong" responded Erza.
"I'll believe it when I see it" responded Jay, thinking that the strange little man in the middle of the arena didn't look impressive. Soon after Jay said these words the match between Blue Pegasus and Quatro Puppy started. The match went the way Erza had predicted, Ichiya had won against Quatro Puppy.
"Wow I'm surprised Ichiya could be that strong" stated Jay in an impressed tone but still thinking Ichiya was nothing when compared to his power.
"The match was alright, but I have to say it was a real let down that the guy in the bunny suit just ended up being a talking cat" stated Jay as he clapped for the victor.
"The exceed's name is Nichiya, he was someone we meet during our time in Edolas" responded Erza, thinking that she should have guessed that Nichiya would find his way to his Earthland counterpart.
"Wait so all those talking cats have an actual name" asked Jay in a surprised tone. Jay was no stranger to talking cats since he was a part of Sabertooth for a long while, he just never knew that they were called Exceeds.
"Yes that's right, they are a race from Edolas" responded Erza while Jay nodded his head in understanding.
"Huh that's good to know I guess. I don't even think Lector or Frosh knew that" responded Jay, having never heard the two talking cats he was familiar with ever mention the word Exceed.
"That's not surprising. Happy didn't know what he was either until we all ended up in Edolas" responded Erza. Shortly after Erza said these words the announcer started to shout over the speakers.
"Moving on to the second match of the day" shouted the announcer in an excited tone as the competitors stepped into the arena.
"The second match of the day pits Lamia Scale's, Lyon and Yuka against Mermaid Heel's top dog Kagura and Millianna" shouted the announcer while the crowd cheered in eager anticipation of the upcoming match.
"Lyon and Kagura are fighting? This is going to be a good one" stated Natsu with a wide smile, looking forward to watching the fight. Jay was silent for a moment as he looked at Kagura, he hadn't forgotten she was the one that handed Yukino her defeat.
"To tell you the truth I was hoping to get the chance to face Kagura myself. I wanted to pay her back for beating Yukino" stated Jay before he noticed something from the corner of his eyes. Glancing upwards and away from the action about to happen in the middle of the arena, Jay locked eyes with Sting and Rouge. Sting and Rouge were glaring at Jay and Natsu, they were sizing them up since their match was next. Jay wasn't the only one that noticed Sting and Rouge's glare, Natsu was gritting his teeth in anger.
"Those two have no idea the trouble they are in, right Natsu" asked Jay with a smirk. Jay had beaten Sting and Rouge separately before; he was called the Battle King of Sabertooth for a reason. While Jay never faced Sting and Rouge in a two on one match, he was confident he could overcome their teamwork with Natsu's help.
"Right, those two are going to pay for what they did. I can't wait to shut them up" responded Natsu in an angry tone. Jay smiled at Natsu's response; he liked it that Natsu felt the same way he did. Just looking at his old Sabertooth comrades filled Jay with rage, they humiliated Yukino and kicked her out of the guild. On top of what was done to Yukino, Jay couldn't forgive what was done to Lucy. As Natsu said these words, the competitors took their places since the match was about to begin.
"Lyon and Yuka are strong foes, don't let your guard down" shouted Erza. Erza's show of support caused Jay to turn his attention towards her.
"You're cheering for Mermaid Heel" asked Jay in a curious tone, he didn't think that Erza would have a steak in this fight.
"Yes I am. I've known Millianna a long time. I consider her a friend, can you blame me for supporting her" asked Erza with a smile.
"I suppose I can't but I'm curious why Millianna is in another guild if you've known her for such a long time. You will have to tell me the story behind that someday" responded Jay with a friendly smile. Erza smile faltered for a moment and Jay knew that he just unknowingly broached a sore subject for Erza.
"Maybe someday I will, although it's not a pleasant story" responded Erza while Jay felt guilty about bringing up a sore subject.
"Crap, I'm sorry Erza. I didn't know" responded Jay in a guilty tone while Erza gave him a friendly smile.
"It's okay, it's something I've long since made peace with and put behind me" responded Erza with a friendly smile.
"I'm glad to hear that Erza, still I'm sorry for bringing it up" responded Jay in a relieved tone. The last thing Jay wanted to do was to offend his new guildmates by bringing up sore subjects.
"What about you" asked Laxus as he turned his attention towards Gray.
"Your old buddy Lyon is about to go into battle for Lamia Scale, don't you want to help him out a little" asked Laxus in a curious tone.
"Why should I? It doesn't make sense to help another guild, not when our teams are rivals" responded Gray in a disinterested tone. Jay recalled how he dominated in the game hidden during the first day of the grand magic games, Lyon hadn't impressed him very much during that time.
"One thing is for sure, Lyon has his work cut out for him. The guy wasn't that impressive when I fought him in the hidden game. I was able to land hits on him without too much trouble" responded Jay thinking that Kagura was the most powerful wizard in the upcoming match. It seemed that Gray took some insult to Jay's words. The insult could have been because Gray was also defeated in the hidden game, or the insult could have been that Jay was underestimating a fellow ice make wizard.
"Hey don't forget you had a huge advantage in the Hidden game, it was hardly fair" responded Gray in a defensive tone.
"I haven't forgotten that, but my strong sense of smell wasn't the only reason I won. I still needed the strength to best the people I tracked down" responded Jay with a friendly smile.
"The only person in the Hidden game that has an excuse for failing against me is Juvia since no matter what she could do it would be worse than useless against me" stated Jay, thinking that Juvia could only strengthen him instead of injuring him.
"Yah whatever, you just got lucky" responded Gray, still defensive from his loss. Shortly after Gray said these words, the announcer shouted for the match to begin. Jay watched along with the rest of his team as the match started, surprisingly Millianna was the only member of the Mermaid Heel team that was fighting.
"I wonder why Kagura is choosing to not fight. Does Kagura really think Millianna is strong enough to win on her own" asked Jay in a curious tone. While Millianna looked like she was doing well enough for now, Jay hadn't seen anything from the cat woman that would suggest she had the sort of strength required to win all on her own.
"Millianna is showing a lot of confidence, it must be because she knows Kagura is there for her if she gets in trouble" responded Erza with a proud smile as she watched her friend fight her hardest against Lamia Scale. Jay nodded his head in agreement as he continued to watch the match unfold. Millianna was holding her own against Lyon and Yuka, it seemed her cat like reflexes were throwing the two Lamia Scale wizards off their game. After a short while Lyon and Yuka were captured by Millianna's magical bindings.
"This match looks like it could be over" stated Jay somewhat surprised about the result of this match. While Jay guessed that Mermaid Heel would win, he had thought it would have been thanks to Kagura. It was impressive that Millianna managed to win all by herself, Kagura hadn't even lifted a finger to fight. It seemed that Jay had spoken too soon, Lyon used his ice make magic to make an ice mouse, Millianna started to chase after it.
"Is she serious? Millianna knows she's not an actual cat right" asked Jay in disbelief as he watched Millianna fall for the obvious trick. Since Millianna was distracted, Lyon and Yuka were able to free themselves.
"Millianna has always had a love for cats, sometimes it can cloud her judgement" responded Erza with an amused smile. The match continued, Lyon seemed to finally take things seriously and soon took care of Millianna. Now Kagura was the only fighter left for Mermaid Heel, Lyon and Yuka had her outnumbered. The number advantage didn't last long for Liama Scale, Kagura made quick work of Yuka.
"Kagura really is impressive" stated Jay, recalling the image of Yukino laying defeated on the ground after Kagura easily beat her. Jay knew he shouldn't hold it against Kagura, she was only fighting for her guild, but he couldn't help himself. Whenever Jay looked at Kagura he remembered how devastated Yukino was after her loss, and it made him want to pay Kagura back.
"It's clear that Kagura is a skilled wizard" responded Erza as she continued to watch the match. The match wasn't going well for Lyon, Kagura's strength was too much for him to handle.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?! You call yourself Master Ur's student?! If she saw you right now, she'd be completely embarrassed! Come on I know you can do better than that" shouted Gray, seemingly upset that his fellow ice make wizard was being beaten so easily. It seemed Gray's shouting gave Lyon his second wind, because Lyon used his ice magic to create an ice ape, tiger and dragon.
"Impressive. Having to fight all three of those things at once won't be easy" stated Jay in an impressed tone. Lyon had shown himself to be stronger than Jay originally thought, Lyon hadn't shown this sort of strength during the Hidden game.
"I don't think those animals will be a problem for Kagura though" responded Erza as Kagura started to use her gravity change magic. Jay watched as Lyon and his ice make creations were suspended in the air, the gravity preventing them from moving.
"This was how Kagura was able to free herself during her match with Yukino. I still can't believe someone can overcome the gravity magic of Libra" stated Jay, impressed that Kagura was stronger than Libra with gravity magic. Since Lyon was trapped in the gravity magic Kagura had cast, he could only stare helplessly as Kagura jumped towards him. Just as Kagura was about to deliver the finishing blow, Lyon was saved by the bell.
"The match might have ended in a draw but it's obvious who the real winner was" stated Jay, knowing that if the match lasted just a few more seconds then Lyon would have been defeated.
"Kagura is very strong; we will have to keep an eye out for her moving forward" responded Erza in a serious tone while Jay nodded his head in agreement.
"Yah, I get the sense she's holding back her real strength" responded Jay, thinking he could recognize the signs of someone holding back since that was what he often did.
While Jay liked to win, he was also the type of person to not use more force than necessary. It would be cruel for Jay to go all out against someone that couldn't handle his true strength. Watching Kagura made Jay wonder if she was strong enough to force him to use his dragon force. Still something about Kagura made Jay think she was hiding something more than just strength.
"I also get the sense that Kagura is mad about something, she never seems to smile" stated Jay as he turned his attention towards Erza since she seemed to have a reaction to his words.
"Kagura is holding onto tremendous pain and anger; I just hope she doesn't allow it to consume her completely" responded Erza in a serious tone. Jay would have pressed for an answer since Erza seemed to know something about Kagura, but he had something more pressing to attend to.
"You ready Jay" asked Natsu in a serious tone.
"Yah I'm ready, let's go" responded Jay as he followed Natsu. Jay and Natsu were about to fight against Sabertooth, but they weren't making their way towards the middle of the arena. Lucy was resting in the infirmary, her eyes begging to slowly open as she woke up. Opening her eyes the first thing Lucy saw was Jay and Natsu standing over her bed.
"Hey Lucy, are you feeling any better" asked Natsu in a warm tone. Lucy smiled back at her friend as she sat up.
"I'm getting there. Is your match about to start" asked Lucy in a curious tone.
"Yup and I'm going to teach Sting and Rouge what happens when you mess with my family" responded Jay with a friendly smile while Natsu nodded his head in agreement.
"Jay and Natsu" responded Lucy with a wide smile.
"Go out there and win for Fairy Tail" stated Lucy with a smile, having complete confidence that Jay and Natsu could win. Jay and Natsu smiled back at Lucy as they nodded their heads, they were going to fight their hardest for Fairy Tail. Shortly after Lucy said these words, the door to the infirmary room open and Wendy walked inside along with Carla.
"Sorry to burst in on you like this. We just wanted to check in on you and see how you are feeling" stated Wendy with a friendly smile while Jay and Natsu walked towards the open door.
"Hello Jay and Natsu" stated Carla as she floated next to Wendy.
"Thanks for taking care of my sister, it means a lot to me Wendy" responded Jay with a grateful smile, patting Wendy on the head before he walked away with Natsu.
"Sure, good luck with your match! Have fun" shouted Wendy as Jay and Natsu walked away and towards the arena. Walking towards the arena, Jay turned his attention towards Natsu.
"You ready to do this" asked Jay with an excited smile, while his blood ran hot with the promise of a good battle.
"You bet! Let's go win this thing and make everyone in Fairy Tail proud" responded Natsu, just as excited as Jay. Jay smiled in response to Natsu's words, he could not wait to get into the middle of the arena and start the match. Sting and Rouge might be his old guildmates, but Jay wasn't going to take it easy on them. With what they did to Yukino and Lucy, Jay was determined to make Sabertooth pay.
End of Chapter 29
