As the Vertibird crossed the old world Border, John made sure the Athenian Prisoner was secured while Henry looked at the traitor. John looked at Henry and asked, "Feeling ok with this?" Henry looked at him and said that he was still shocked that a man he trusted conspired against his fellow Athenians. Soon the pilot looked back at John and told him that they would be landing soon with an Athenian Escort to take them to the main senate chambers.
Along the way, Henry explained that the founders of their settlement united many of the old world districts as different countries. Since Athens wasn't a direct threat to the bombs of old, the city was spared.
"I see." John said as he looked at some of the still standing Skyscrapers as Henry went on.
"Though life afterwards changed drastically. The old founders named it New Athens after the ancient Athens of old. Each district is represented in the main senate. I am from District 10, my allies are in 1, 4, 6, and 8. We must present our case perfectly if we are to win the Senate and arrest the traitors to our city state." Henry said to them as they went past the checkpoint. Soon they arrived at a Pre-War University and were led to the Auditorium where the Representatives from the 11 districts were meeting. John and Henry stood on the stage with the traitor as Henry explained what happened when he went to meet with John.
"Surely you must be joking Sir Henry." A man from District 2 said. But Henry shook his head and said, "No. I speak the truth sir. This man who I thought was my friend has confessed that he is working with the Enclave and conspired to pin us against the New Spartans." Then John stepped forward and showed them all the evidence and even the two prisoners' confessions that were on Holotapes. The crowd was speechless, but several Representatives ran for the doors, only to be stopped by Athenian Soldiers and arrested. Henry explained that the men that ran were also agents of the Enclave Remnants and that they were a major threat to all of Athens. He went on to state that John was putting together a Defensive alliance treaty that would be called the United Southern Alliance.
"And yes, I know the initials are USA." John pointed out. He then said that their USA would be different from the Pre-War USA. It was that of what Pre-War Nato was, if one post-War Government got attacked, their allies would join in and defend their fellow alliance Members. As John spoke, the Representatives were listening to him and when John was done, he was greeted by applause. Hostilities between New Sparta and Athens ended on that day and both leaders signed the Treaty John had proposed to them. He was happy that Athens and New Sparta were a part of his Defensive Alliance.
Back in New Charleston, John smiled at his copy of the Treaty when Zoey walked in and sat on his lap. Then she proceeded to make out with John, who returned the make out session. John deepened the kiss and held her close to him before he pulled away from her lips and rubbed her sides. Zoey moaned at the feeling and smiled at her lover. John smiled back and asked her what she wanted.
"We managed to find where the Enclave Remnants are staging their plans." Zoey said to him. John sat straight up and asked where. Zoey told him that they were across the Pre-War Border of Tennessee and Georgia. Afterwards, She stood up for John to get up as he said to get the representatives from the other post-war governments and the leaders of the UCR's Military. Zoey nodded her head and kissed him again before walking off. Sitting back down, John powered up the Pre-war Computer in his Office and looked up anything involving Tennessee. He saw that there were 7.5 Million people living in the state before the war.
"Seems like a few missiles struck tennessee. Not too bad, but there's still Radiation there." John said to himself when a voice added on about how it could be dangerous there. Looking up, John saw Mason standing before him. He rubbed his eyes before looking closer and seeing that it was the ghost of Mason.
"Believe it or not, the Radiation enveloped my soul and gave me a new life… NAH I'm just kidding, I'm in your head." Mason said as he turned into how John last saw him. He backed up and said, "No… no no no. You're dead."
"Oh yeah, I am dead… no thanks to you John." Mason said as he walked through the table, which made John walk to the other side. He was beginning to sweat when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Jerking to his side, he saw that Harold was standing there. He asked John if he was ok.
"Um…" was what John got out before looking back at the window. Seeing Mason's ghost gone, he told Harold that he was ok.
"Are you sure? You're sweating." Harold pointed out, watching John wipe his cheek and saw that he was in fact sweating. John told the UCR general that he was fine and didn't mention what he saw. Later, John was in a meeting with Harold and his advisors when the leaders of Athens and New Sparta walked in and he shook their hands. The New Sparta Leader, named after the great Leader of Old Sparta; Leonidas the 1st, asked John what is the plan to get back at the forces who caused the rift between his people and Athens.
"I would like to know that as well." Said Greg Smith, chosen representative to the UCR. That was when John told them that the Enclave Remnants were across the border in Tennessee. Afterwards he told them that he would send the Army scouts ahead of their main army so they would know where to head.
"But first we have another issue. We got reports of Raiders amassing in one location. Your City States know it well as Colbia." John said as he showed them evidence. The leaders paled at the thought of going back to Colbia. Their home City States lost a lot of men in that place. John told them that he knew they would not want to go back there, but Colbia was becoming a home of Rapists, Murderers, and Raiders.
"We have been dealing with Raiders on patrols. But we never knew where they were coming from." Leonidas said to the two listeners John told them that with their combined power they could take the city and make it a proper Settlement to live in. Leonidas and Greg looked at each other as they thought about the proposal. Taking the city could help bring them peace after the battle, so they looked at John and nodded their heads.
That night, John had the UCR'S Commanders gathered and they began discussing plans to take Colbia. The Taller Buildings would have to be taken with Vertibirds landing on the tops and dropping off heavy weapon soldiers while ground units went street to street to secure the buildings. The Commanders nodded their heads as one commander suggested that they use the River that went through the city to provide more support. Harold pointed out that Vertibirds could fly along the river and under the Radar of any AA guns they could have.
"That could work. Once we get men in the city they open the gates and the rest of the army can surge in and take the raiders out, this must be a 100% purge. Not one gets away." John said as he put his hands on the table where the map of what was Colbia. The men nodded their heads as they all knew how much John hated Raiders.
After the meeting, John walked into his bedroom where Zoey waited for him. Taking his shirt and pants off, he slipped into night pants and joined Zoey. (A.N.: Lemon ahead. Skip if you want. "Today, I gather you here to declare a NEW empire. With ME as its leader, The Carolina Empire! I ask you not to follow me out of fear, but follow me out of getting revenge on those who had wronged us! Those who have humiliated us. Those WHO THINK THEY ARE SUPERIOR! WE WILL SHOW THAT THE CAROLINA EMPIRE IS THE SUPERIOR FACTION!" The men cheered and started chanting long live the empire. The Man in the T-60f Power Armor then walked off as his advisor said that he got the men's loyalty pointing out that Onimaru was a fool to rule by fear, the men were loyal to him and he would use that Loyalty to prepare for a new war that will happen soon.
Back with John and the Army, they were getting closer to Colbia as they met up with the Army from Athens and their working APCS.
"How are they working?" John asked the Athenian General. He was told that since the bombs didn't hit Athens or hit near Athens, the EMP that followed spared all technology. He mentioned that the APCs were kept in good condition and he could talk to the Athen's senate to discuss giving the UCR the tech needed to reactivate the many APCS that dotted the South Carolina Wasteland.
"That would be nice, thanks." John said to the Athenian commander. Soon they met up with the Forces from New Sparta and the combined forces arrived at Colbia. The leaders saw the flag of a Raider Faction flying high above the walls. It was the old flag of the City Columbia with a Bear on it along with an Assault Rifle crossed by a shovel. John pulled out a map of what was Colbia before the Great War and put it on the hood of a Pre War Car.
"Ok, So here's the plane we came up with." John said as he began explaining the plan he and his subordinates came up with. But that was when one commander from the Athens army suggested that they try peace first. John got a visual tic on his forehead before he looked at the commander and asked, "Could you kindly… repeat yourself." John's men shook their heads at the Athen's commander to not answer, but he did.
"All I said… was maybe try giving them… a chance to leave peacefully?" he said. John took a big breath in and let it out as his subordinates all facepalmed. He then asked the Athens Sub-Commander to speak to him in private. As John walked off with the Athen's Sub-Commander, the commander in charge of the Athenian Army asked John's Subordinate why they were trying to get his sub commander not to answer.
"President Bertrand lost his family to Raiders before he joined the Brotherhood, this was all before he and I met." Harold told the commanders of the Ally armies as they watched John begin to chew out the Athenian Sub-Commander. The Athenian Commander tried to intervene, but Harold stopped him, saying that John needed to get it out of his system.
"Still, that's my sub-Commander, he's ripping the ass of, I have to do something." the Athenian Commander said before walking to John and the Athenian Sub Commander.
"AND IF YOU EVER TRY SUGGESTING PEACE WITH RAIDERS AGAIN! I WILL ASK FOR PERMISSION TO BEAT YOUR ASS!" John shouted with anger at the Quivering Athenian Sub-Commander. He added on that Raiders were beyond peace talks and that every one who picks the path of raiders should be put down.
"That's enough Mr. President." the Athenian Commander said as he walked over to them. John looked and said, "Your Subordinate needs to know that negotiating with Raiders is not going to be allowed, they are nothing but heathens, monsters. I would say mutants, but that would be insulting to mutants."
"Don't you have a Former Raider on your side?" The Athenian commander pointed out. John then came out of his Rage after hearing that. Looking behind him, he saw Lee holding his Pipe Rifle as he sighed.
"Lee… I…" John said but Lee walked off, causing John to follow him. He tried to say sorry to Lee, but he wasn't having it.
"You said it yourself John, Raiders are beyond forgiveness. You made that painstakingly clear about your opinion on my past." Lee said to him. John walked to Lee's side and said, "And I'm gonna be kicking myself in the ass for it later Lee. Lee stop please man." That was when Lee stopped. John then went on to say that what he told the one Athen Commander was just him being pissed.
"Pissed? You call that you just being pissed?" Lee Pointed out to him.
"Ok fine I was angry. It's… been a year since we took back New Anderson and Vault 140 from your old Raider Gang and… I guess I'm still not over it. The truth is Lee, is that I made stupid comments that I shouldn't have said all because I was angry. I was angry for not being able to help my parents out in New Anderson, I couldn't protect Mason, I couldn't protect Hyra… Now I'm in charge of the whole republic and… I feel like I need to protect it for them."
"But that's just not your responsibility man." Lee Told John. He then went on to say that he had his friends, the Army, his allies to all protect the UCR and he didn't have to shoulder the pain alone.
"I guess you have a point, But seriously Lee, I am truly… truly sorry for what I said." John told the latter, who agreed with John about some facts, that the raiders of Colbia needed to be wiped out as they would not accept a peaceful solution.
"Their Leader calls himself "The Human Yao Guai." He needs to be stopped." Lee said to his President. John nodded his head and the two Returned to the others, where John Apologized to the Athenian Sub-commander for his harsh scolding. His Apology was accepted before the New Spartan Commander said, "I think we've been spotted." Before he pointed to a tower where multiple people were scrambling, John noted that if they had regular Pipe weapons then they were good, but pre-War weaponry would reach them so they had to get the siege line dug quickly. The Siege of Colbia was underway.
