One morning at Whitehaven Sheds, Tracy was up bright and early. "It's here! It's here!" she wheeshed excitedly.

"What's here?" yawned Kenneth. "…and where's Marcus?"

"Look!"

At that moment, Marcus whistled into the Yard pulling a very unusual load indeed. "HELP!" Kenneth cried, "a dragon's chasing Marcus!"

"It's alright, Kenneth," said Marcus. "It's a paper dragon. Actually, it's the Chinese Dragon that usually visits the Island of Sodor and I'm taking it for a special visit to the Medieval Festival at Kendal Castle today."

"An evil Festival?!"

"Medieval," said Tracy. "The Medieval Times were long, long ago. There were kings and queens, knights in shining armour, giant castles and stories of fierce bravery."

"Don't forget the dragons," added Nathan.

"Yes, there were stories about dragons too, even though they weren't real."

"And people have festivals to celebrate those days?" asked Kana.

"Exactly," smiled Tracy, "there's music and dancing as well as games and everyone talks funny."

"Funny how?" asked Nathan.

"Well, instead of 'goodbye', they say 'fere thee well', 'me thinks' instead of 'I think', 'nay' instead of 'no' and 'huzzah' instead of 'hurray'.

"Well, me thinks that does sound funny," laughed Kenneth.

Then, the Tall Controller arrived. "And me thinks this is going to be a marvelous Festival," he chuckled. "I see you collected the Chinese Dragon, Marcus. Well done. Now, you must get it to the Festival without delay." Then, he turned to the other engines. "If the rest of you finish your work on time, you may go and enjoy the Festival too."

"Huzzah!" cheered the engines and everyone laughed.

Marcus collected more supplies for the Festival from the Shunting Yard and set off for Kendal Castle. It was a ruin castle now, but it still looked beautiful as it stood against the sky. The Medieval Times are so exciting, Marcus thought. It's too bad there were no engines back then.

"Stop, Marcus!" called his Driver. "The signal is red!"

Marcus jumped and he braked hard, rattling the trucks behind him. "Sorry," he said quietly, but no one had noticed that the coupling on the flatbed had come loose.

Marucs was making good time as he reached Foxfield Junction. The Signalman went to turn the points, but no one noticed they were faulty. Marcus rolled over them and continued on his way…while the Chinese Dragon and the supplies were sent towards Dalton.

"Stop!" called the Fireman, "we've lost our load!"

"Broken bunkers!" gasped Marcus. "Runaway dragon! After it!"

The Chinese Dragon picked up speed as it rattled along towards the Drawbridge and a boat that was approaching, but as soon as the barriers closed, the Dragon crashed through them and raced across the Bridge just as it started to go up. The Bridge Operator couldn't believe what he had seen.

Further down the line, Noel the Mixed-Traffic Engine had left the Port in Barrow with some trucks. He was just entering a tunnel when…"DRAGON!" he cried and raced backwards as fast as he could.

"Noel," called his Driver, "that's not a real dragon!"

"It's a runaway train!" shouted the Fireman.

"Come on, Noel, we have to stop it!"

Noel whistled to the Signalman who changed the points. The Chinese Dragon rolled onto Noel's line and gently bumped into him. The Driver applied the brakes and carefully, they came to a stop.

Soon, Marcus arrived. "Noel, are you alright?"

"Yes, but that Dragon really scared me."

"I'm sorry, I don't know what happened. My trucks broke free back at Foxfield Junction."

"At least everyone is alright," said the Signalman.

"Where are you taking this Dragon anyway?" asked Noel.

"It's the Chinese Dragon," replied Marcus, "and I'm taking it the Medieval Festival at Kendal Castle."

"Are you? I'm going to Oxenholme, myself. Might I join this…'green knight' on his journey to the Castle?"

Marcus chuckled. "Me thinks I would be glad to have your company, Lord Noel."

"Then, let us make haste, Sir Marcus…That means 'go fast'."

Noel buffered up behind and helped Marcus and his train back to Foxfield. Marcus turned around and was coupled up again and the two engines crossed the points slowly and carefully. Noel delivered his trucks and they set off for the Festival together.

Everyone was waiting at Kendal Castle, and they all cheered as Marcus and Noel steamed in with the Chinese Dragon and the supplies. The Festival was a great success and everyone had a splendid time.

"I fine piece of work…Sir Marcus," said the Tall Controller, "in spite of the confusion I heard about."

"I couldn't have done it without help from my good friend, Lord Noel," replied Marcus. "He managed to catch the Chinese Dragon when it got away."

The Tall Controller smiled. "Then it's well done to both of you."

"Huzzah!" everyone cheered and clearly, they all agreed.
