"Damn, how the fuck did I make it to 48 Chapters?" Lego questioned as he looked at his phone, seeing how many chapters we're at in this cringe fic. Seriously, you have balls if you're reading this shit.
As for where Lego was currently… well…
Lego turned his head to the side as he heard sirens, before seeing cops slowly making their way through traffic on the highway as Lego was standing on top of a bus, which was also devoid of passengers. "Killing people isn't my style…" Lego stated, talking to no one in particular as he handled the detonation trigger in his hands, the one that would trigger the bombs that were inside of the bus. "But… desperate times call for desperate measures, right Gideon?" Lego waited for the police to get closer, before he activated the detonator and took out basically whoever and whatever was on the highway next to the bus.
Lego teleported himself into the sky, and looked down at the burning vehicle, and then at the detonator in his hand. "...I've crossed the threshold of being a monster a looooong time ago," he said before he dropped the detonator. Whether it'd be burned up in the fire, broken upon crashing to the ground, or recovered by the British authorities, it didn't matter.
The calling card was sent and so the deconstruction of what this story was began.
"Gideon!" A woman shouted with a thick Russian accent suddenly within a warehouse that held a fair share of military equipment that ranged from guns, to explosives, to the latest iteration of the Exo-Suits provided to the PMCs of this world, as well as drones of different caliber.
Gideon, a man who looked to be in his mid-30's with short black-blond hair as well as clean shaven in terms of facial hair, came out from underneath the car he was doing maintenance on. "Haven't heard you use that tone in a long time, Ilona," Gideon commented as he sat up and looked at her, only to see how panicked she looked. Not only that, but their fellow soldier and friend Mitchell was there with her, and he looked just as worried. "...what the bloody hell is going on?"
"You remember that guy you told us about?" Mitchell asked whilst Gideon stood up.
"What?" Gideon questioned as he stood up, before hearing the news report playing in the break room, before he quickly walked past them and looked at the news, seeing the news report of the highway bombing caused by Lego.
"That's him, right?" Mitchell questioned as he stood next to Gideon.
After a moment of silence, Gideon nodded. "Situation must be dire if he's coming for me," Gideon said as he walked out of the breakroom. Mitchell and Ilona shared a concerned look whilst Gideon grabbed a Atlas 45 pistol off of a table, placing it into his pistol holster.
"I thought you said they disbanded, hence why you came back," Ilona said as she and Mitchell walked alongside Gideon as he grabbed some guns.
"The Hero Corps is hopefully still disbanded," Gideon stated as he looked at Ilona and Mitchell. "As great of a thing as we were, there were plenty of things we did that led to only more suffering. But," Gideon picked up a Bal-27 bullpup rifle from a gun rack, "this is the Boss we're talking about. He was never a simple man, even if his heart was in the right place."
"Want us to come along with?" Mitchell put his hand on another gun on the rack, looking at Gideon with a determination as well as readiness to follow his comrade into whatever battle lay ahead.
However, Gideon shook his head. "Unfortunately… That's not an option. I would love to have your help, but I'd still rather not see you two hurt," Gideon said as he put his hands on Ilona and Mitchell's shoulders. "Besides, without the power of the cube or specially manufactured Exo-Suits that were made for the members of the Hero Corps, you two would be no different than you are now."
Ilona crossed her arms and shook her head, a sigh coming out of her mouth. "That's true… You were lucky enough to keep your Power Cube or whatever it was though, yeah?"
"Correct," Gideon said as the three of them exited the warehouse, the small military outpost that held many Sentinel soldiers going about their normal business whilst the three walked towards the empty helipad.
"Why'd he let you keep yours?" Mitchell asked Gideon curiously.
"Because I was his right hand man," Gideon answered with a smirk. "I was also one of his favorites." Gideon stepped onto the helipad and began to hover in place for a moment. He looked over at Mitchell and Ilona, before saying, "I'll see you two on the flip side when I return." Gideon then rapidly took off to the skies, before flying in a seemingly random direction at a speed that could rival a fighter jet.
"LIGHT THE AMERICAN UP!"
The sound of gunfire was heard as several armed men decked out in military grade gear attempted to kill a man that suddenly arrived at their base and killed several of their soldiers with Desert Eagles.
Unfortunately, that American they were fighting was Lego, so you should know how this ends.
Lego deflected the bullets with a wave of his hand, before planting a bullet in each of their heads with a single headshot. As more men arrived on the scene, Lego lifted the full auto Deagle in his right hand and shot each of the men quickly as they arrived. The last of them was given only a few more seconds to live as the full auto Deagle ran out of ammo in the clip, which didn't matter as Lego pointed the semi auto Deagle in his left hand at the man and killed him by putting a bullet through his neck.
The author discarded the empty mags of his pistols, before quickly replacing them with two fresh mags. "Fuck the future apparently, since a .50 is still apparently outbeating whatever the fuck ammo types y'all are using," he commented as he observed the carcasses of the deceased men.
From the shadows, another man dressed like the other men on the ground showed up, but was swiftly tackled to the ground and pinned by someone who dropped on him from above. "You've changed," Gideon commented as he looked up at Lego, pinning the armored man to the ground as Lego holstered his pistols.
"Double barrels bitch, I'm the death kid," Lego merely replied as he crossed his arms.
Gideon nodded in response as he looked around at the damage Lego had done to the building they were in. "At least one thing is the same, you're still kicking criminal and terrorist ass," Gideon said, before knocking the dude he was pinning unconscious. Standing up from his position, Sentinel 2-1 said, "So why'd you blow up that bus? To get my attention? You already knew how to find me."
"Evil's back," Lego replied, surprising Gideon, who was baffled by such. "And right now, it's ride or die. If we don't win, no one is safe until Evil finds someone he can't beat, but even then, the destruction he'll cause will be immeasurable."
"But you banished him, how the hell did he leave the void you banished him and-" Gideon was cut off by Lego pointing at him.
"Do not mention the rest of my mistakes," Lego stated simply. "I want nothing to do with them any more and I do want them to be brought up. We're going to kill Evil, and get this shit over and done with, are we crystal clear?"
Gideon blinked a few times. This… was not the Lego he remembered. This wasn't the cheery happy-go-lucky optimistic hero he knew. "Crystal," Gideon said slowly as he tensed up.
Lego's arm dropped to his side, before gesturing to the terrorist. "Who are these fucks?"
"They're an Anti-America organization," Gideon answered as he kicked a body over off of its stomach, showing a burning flag symbol on the badges. "Apparently, these people simply hate the USA, which isn't saying much, but at the same time, they have a lot of Atlas's old gear. Probably snatched it up when Irons died, while Atlas was busy dealing with the millions of lawsuits and the confusion on what to do once Irons was out of the picture."
Lego merely let out a hum, before walking over some of the bodies. "Shall we deal with them before we head out?" Lego asked.
"Well, seeing as we're here, why not?" Gideon replied as he pulled out the Bal-27.
"Why'd you bring that?" Lego questioned as he saw Gideon hold the assault rifle in his hands.
"Why'd you use those?" Gideon countered as he gestured to Lego's Deagles.
"I need to get my money's worth," Lego answered, surprising Gideon with the response.
"Wait, you actually bought those?" Gideon asked.
"Yep. Worse part? Can't use the tracers on other weapons," Lego replied as he began walking towards an elevator within the multistoried warehouse they were in.
Who was the man that stood before him?
Gideon watched and bore witness to the hail of bullets that Lego rained down upon each and every soldier they came across, witnessing things that made little sense to the elite soldier, who had accompanied Lego for years on end back when he worked for him as his right-hand man.
Watching people explode into puddles of blood, or treasure, their skin and armor melting into puddles of gold whilst leaving a golden skeleton… it made little sense to Gideon, and he's seen a lot from Lego.
The array of weapons Lego was using also was quite new to Gideon, especially considering the fact that Lego's go-to weapons were the EM1 laser rifle that shot a consistent beam of plasma energy that burned through enemies, or akimbo shotguns that he ran almost everywhere with. But today, he used none of that. Instead, he used weapons that Gideon never would've thought he'd use, and tore through the hostile soldiers almost mercilessly.
Lego appeared behind the last one and sliced them on the back of their legs, causing them to fall to their knees. Lego attempted to bury the knife deep into the soldier's neck, but they lifted their hand up enough to block it, though the knife went through their hand. Lego then ended up kicking the knife with his knee, lodging the knife into the soldier's head anyways, pinning the hand to their face as their body fell limply to the ground.
Gideon didn't pay too much attention to the kills as he got on one of the computer terminals in the room, seeing how the area was going to be used to guide missiles gathered by these terrorists to bomb several cities. "Looks like we found their guided missile launch terminals," Gideon said as he looked at the different locals that were to be hit, with most set for the US, and only a few meant to be for Europe oddly enough…
"Good, disarm them," Lego said, before he dodged a bullet (literally) and shot the recent soldier who had arrived in the head with an AK-74u, watching a black and gold basketball suddenly appear around their head, exploding after a moment whilst more soldiers shot up the room, trying to kill Gideon and Lego. Lego put up a Ki barrier and scoffed. "Pathetic."
Gideon turned his head to look back at Lego as he tossed his guns to the side and simply started throwing the bullets through the Ki barrier, watching each and every death unfold. At least some of the soldiers would have bodies to recover, whilst others exploded into different materials or substances.
Just what were in those bullets?
Gideon finished rendering the console obsolete, and said, "All that should be left is to take care of their boss."
"Good," Lego said as he started to throw C4 at the ceiling above them.
As Lego continued planting the C4, Gideon looked at the console, and was alarmed as the missiles launched suddenly. "Hey wait wait wait!" Gideon exclaimed as the missiles launched. "Shit, the missles launched!"
"So, now we have some reason to be urgent about this," Lego replied nonchalantly as he looked over at his lone ally in this mission.
"The bastard must have a secondary console with him," Gideon stated. "We need to disarm those missiles!"
Lego pulled out the C4 detonator. "Let's get crackin' then," Lego said as he detonated the C4 as he and Gideon flew up another floor, resuming the action of murdering more terrorists.
The super soldier that was Gideon watched as Lego continued to pull out all sorts of weaponry for the onslaught of soldiers he faced and gunned down. A part of the man he once knew was still there as he charged in without a care in the world, but each bullet was placed to kill or to down the soldiers, which when he downed them was followed up with a killing blow that was more excessive than needed to be.
And so finally they arrived at the top floor of the building, and Lego kicked the door open and said doors flew off their hinges. Lego and Gideon both saw the mastermind sitting down at a desk, smiling smugly as he drank what looked like wine. He had long blue hair that was in a ponytail, and he wore a black suit. On his desk was also a case, which probably had the console to defuse the missiles in it.
"Hands where we can see them!" Gideon shouted as he pointed his Bal-27 at the terrorist leader.
The man laughed as he stared at Gideon with a condescending look on his face. "And then?"
Gideon blinked a bit, but looked over at Lego. "Boss, the console!"
Lego walked over to the small case and turned it around… only to be met with a cracked screen and damaged wires. "...it's broken," Lego stated.
Gideon kept his assault rifle trained on the terrorist. "Then repair it! I know you can do it Boss since you have a-"
"You do it," Lego said as he tossed the console to Gideon suddenly, catching him off guard before he pointed his own pistol, specifically a revolver at the terrorist. "And you have explaining to do, jackass."
The terrorist laughed and looked at Lego. "I'm not scared of you, American brat," the terrorist spat as he took another sip of his wine, before Lego smacked it out of his hand with the revolver.
"Yeah yeah dipshit, I get that a lot," Lego retorted as he glared at him.
Gideon finished repairing the console via his assortment of magic and powers, before quickly attempting to defuse the missiles… only to realize the console was launch only, meaning the missiles couldn't be defused. "You son of a bitch Riker!" Gideon shouted as he dropped the console and picked up the terrorist leader, identified as Riker, by the collar of his shirt.
"Do it," Riker said with an amused smile. "It doesn't change the fates of those who will sit by idly whilst hundreds of third world countries go to war and suffer through oppression and genocide. The United States finally falls today, something the world should be proud of!"
"So basically you're a piece of shit who decided to war against the USA due to their complacent nature," Lego remarked dryly.
"See, the American gets it," Riker replied, laughing heartily before Gideon punched Riker in the face and he hit the wall.
"You don't care about the innocents?!" Gideon questioned.
Riker glared at Gideon and spat at him. "Innocents?! Who is innocent when genocides happen against TRULY innocent people, but no one does anything at all?! When children are butchered day and night, and parents have to worry about whether or not they'll tomorrow, or their children will make it through the day?!" Riker stood up straight and leaned back against the wall coolly. "The United States of America is single handedly one of the largest superpowers in the world, and yet they barely go out of their way to help a named country like South Korea, and I bet barely any Americans can say the name of an African or Asian country that isn't massive or well known or a meme and joke to these people!"
Gideon pointed his gun at Riker. "I'm five seconds away from putting a bullet-"
"And more will die," Riker said as he spread his arms with a confident and smug smirk on his face.
Lego and Gideon seemed confused, before Lego put two-and-two together and said, "Let me guess, we kill you, bombs go off."
"Bingo!" Riker said with a confident laugh. "More countries get bombed, including your pathetic historical landmarks!" Riker's laugh became louder as he glared at Gideon mockingly. "Even your super soldier ass can't stop me from killing myself and then flying around the world to destroy those bombs!" As the horror of what was about to happen dawned on Gideon's face, Riker's smile grew wider. "You lost."
Lego hummed. "Yep… and you died," Lego said suddenly, catching Riker and Gideon off guard as the author threw his fist forward, a shockwave generating and pushing Riker through the wall, causing him to fall out and into the air.
Riker's eyes slowly widened in fear as time seemed to slow for Riker and Gideon. Gideon watched as Lego brought his hands together, before a beam of light fell from the sky and proceeded to incinerate Riker as he fell.
As Gideon slowly came to, he stared at Lego, baffled as he sensed that across the world, thousands of people were dying from the bombs Riker had placed. The anti-America terrorist organization leader was gone, but at the deaths of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands!
"Boss-!" Gideon shouted with a sense of urgency and disbelief.
Lego cut him off and said, "Shut the fuck up, and go destroy those missles before they go boom!" Lego then jumped out the window and began flying off towards where the missiles were potentially going.
Gideon knew that Lego was right in this sense, some lives could be saved still… So Gideon flew off and quickly went to destroy the missiles mid-flight.
When Gideon had destroyed the final missile, he quickly went to where Lego was in the Netherlands, in Rotterdam. Lego was standing on the roof of a building when Gideon had landed. "You finished up," Lego said.
"Boss what the hell?!" Gideon shouted at Lego, clearly confused, baffled, and a bit angry. "Thousands just die, and you're calm?!"
"Dragon Balls," Lego replied with a dry look on his face. "We can literally gather the Dragon Balls and bring everyone back."
This made Gideon pause, and immediately he calmed down. "Oh yeah, you're right. Now, about why you-"
"SEE, THIS IS WHY I DISBANDED THE HERO CORPS!" Lego shouted, cutting off Gideon instantly as anger filled Lego's voice. "The moment I say 'Dragon Balls', it's like everything that just happened doesn't fucking matter! IT REALLY IS JUST LIKE YOU DON'T CARE FOR THE CONSEQUENCES OF OUR ACTIONS!"
Gideon was thrown off by Lego's shouting. His boss was never this violent or angry. "W-Well-"
"Don't 'well' me! You don't give a shit! Nobody did!" Lego shouted as he glared at Gideon. "This is entirely why I am on the fence about even asking for your fucking help in stopping Evil's bitchass since he decided to revive himself!"
Gideon's eyes widened. "Evil's back?"
"Yes!" Lego hissed. "Unfortunately, I can't just YOLO solo his ass either because I'm tired of the bullshit cycle we lived in! But you seem just fucking fine with it!"
"Boss, calm down," Gideon said cautiously.
"Why should I?!" Lego questioned. "Why should I calm down?! Because I'm a good guy? Because we're in the right for taking whatever superpowers we wanted, putting them all within a goddamn cube and mass producing it and creating a superpowered army that was so stupid that a single person is capable of just blowing up a universe, under the pretense of we're the good guys?!"
"And you're gonna dismiss all the good we did?!" Gideon questioned whilst raising his voice.
"BITCH, WE CAUSED HALF OF THE SHIT WE HAD TO FIX!" Lego retorted. "BECAUSE WE MADE EVIL, AND LIKE IT OR NOT, WE STILL HOLD A SHRED OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR CREATING HIS DUMBASS!"
"That was his own choice!" Gideon retorted.
"And what about the psychological scars we left on people when they witnessed their loved ones fucking die when we showed up and waged war against Evil as we destroyed cities and planets?!" Lego questioned. "How many children do you think had to witness half of that shit, because I know for sure our Ki blasts strayed and hit buildings and fucking turned people into half cooked corpses! Speaking of, how many futures have we changed or destroyed by taking the superpowers from so many goddamn heroes?!"
Gideon took a step back as Lego grilled him. "Boss, what are you-"
"WE ARE THIEVES GIDEON!" Lego practically screamed. "WE TOOK SO MANY POWERS THAT ONCE I OPENED MY EYES, I REALIZED WHAT I WAS! PATHETIC!" Lego glared at Gideon as he circled him on the roof. "What separates us from the bad guys, Gideon? What makes us any different than that Riker dude? You wanna know something? You could single handedly solo every nation of this fucking planet and end all wars, make it so people who don't get food or clean water have a stable supply of all of it!"
Gideon actually paled as he thought of what Lego said since he was… kinda right. "Boss, where… where is this coming from?" Gideon questioned.
"I want to move on!" Lego said as he clawed at his mask with one hand as cracks started forming. "I want this over with damnit! I don't even want to deal with Evil! I want to just… fade into obscurity because this Marysue bullshit I was on, no matter how accidental it was, is a stain in my memory and reminds me of how long I went without suffering any repercussions for my choices!
"I'VE HAD IT WITH POWER!" Lego shouted as his mask broke in half, his left eye turning black with a white pupil as he glared at Gideon. "...I want to forget the past ever happened, and try to work for something for once."
Gideon backed away a bit as Lego fumed, his agitation quite apparent. It was clear that since the Hero Corps disbanded… Lego had changed and his perspective on everything had also changed. Seeing them as the villains was a take Gideon never expected to hear from Lego… but it seems that he was right. Gideon, despite being very powerful and godly compared to most people and militaries in his dimension, had grown complacent with his power and taking orders.
"...alright Boss," Gideon said slowly with a nod. "I… I copy." Gideon shifted his weight, before saying, "I'll join you one final time… and we can stop Evil."
Lego looked at Gideon, and he twitched violently for a split second. "...alright," Lego said, before opening a portal. "Let's go…" Lego walked through the portal without any hesitation.
Gideon was clearly bothered by Lego's attitude, how he's changed… but his sense of duty to stop Evil overpowered his concerns. He had faith and trust in his boss after all.
One last time… one final victory…
Look, more to be said in the next chapter, let's just carry straight on over, because if you thought things were gonna be slightly funny or cringy in 49, you thought wrong.
