-Greens fic!-

Butch sat on the grass at the pond across from the junk yard, tossing another stone into the dark as night water. His spiked black hair blowing with the breeze that tickled his face. The only light outside was the moon and the fading streetlights. He came out here to think, to chill, to relax... It was just a place that was quiet and only ever had him occupying it.

At least that's what he thought it'd be like until he heard someone else, someone who sounded like they had a lot of pain. The person had been crying, it sounded like a woman. He didn't know if he should leave, investigate, or ignore it... He didn't have much time to decide when the figure stood only 3 feet away and crumpled to the ground.

Butch raised a brow in confusion, the woman felt increasingly more familiar the closer she got.

"Uh... Are you okay?" Butch asked with a skeptical voice.

"Go away Butch... It's really not a good time..." The girl definitely knew him.

She turned to him and he met lime green eyes. The girl was... Buttercup? That couldn't be right... Buttercup didn't cry, she avoided all weakness. So why was she here right now, tears streaming down her face?

" What's got you so blue, Green?" Butch asked, moving closer.

"Why should I tell you?" She asked with frustration to her voice.

"The answer is quite obvious don't you think?" Butch said and she looked confused.

"Why is that?" Butttercup sighed.

"Because I am here, you're like that... It'd be rude to leave without trying to help... I'm not going to run my mouth if that's what you're afraid of... Nothing to hide now because I already saw you crying right?" He chuckled and Butttercup looked into his forest green irises.

She sat there looking at him for a very long time, trying to piece together why him of all people had been trying to comfort her right now. Especially since they didn't know each other very well, so there was no connection. They did have a mutual understanding of one another because of them being counterparts. She didn't know if he'd even understand her issue right now, because Butch wasn't known for being a person to come to for advice.

"Why are you trying to console me?" Butttercup raised a brow in uncertainty.

"Because I don't have people who do it for me, so I know what it's like..." Butch shrugged.

That answer caught her off guard, she didn't expect that.

"Don't you have brothers?" Butttercup let's out a dry chuckle.

"They're kinda more tough love than anything else really..." Butch said and started tossing stones again.

He handed Butttercup a couple and she reluctantly took them. She still looked at him skeptically and started tossing stones too. He didn't expect her to finally speak.

"Mitch cheated on me... I got so angry that he's now in the emergency room..." She said to him, her voice sounded almost like she was... ashamed?

"Cheating is a sin and people should burn in hell for it..." Butch said with a glare and Butttercup nodded.

"I'm more upset about the fact that I let my anger almost kill him... Good guys don't do that..." Butttercup said with a sullen expression.

"It's his dumbass mistake for cheating on a chick with super powers..." Butch said and Butttercup looked at him in shock.

Butch continued "People do unexpected things when they're pissed off, remember that we're super humans... Emphasis on the word human... We have flaws too, no hero is fuckin perfect... That's for damn sure... Most male heros act really fuckin sexist actually..." Butch said and Butttercup moved closer to him and laid her head on him tiredly.

Butch side eyes her, but doesn't move a muscle. "You're really insightful..." Butttercup said with a sigh.

"I just know life... It's kicked me in the ass more often than not..." Butch sighed too.

"I feel like shit now..." Butttercup said with a chuckle.

"Why?" Butch asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Because you're a really cool guy and I waited until now the see that..." Butttercup turned her head to look at him.

Butch snorted trying to hold back a laugh "I'm just honest..." He looked into her eyes and for some reason felt this pull from them.

"D-do you want to hang out again..." Butttercup asked nervously.

"I don't see why not..." Butch tilted his head and Butttercup gave him this look. She stared at him for a very long time, not breaking eye contact for a second of it. They just stared for awhile, it was like this visual understanding that both had.

They shared this unusual moment in silence, their kind of silence. It was just him and her, Butch and Butttercup. Two beings, almost the same person. Butch brought a hand up to tuck one of her fallen raven locks behind her ear. Butch suddenly spoke, what came from him shocked her.

"I don't understand why someone would be unfaithful to you..." He said, his eyes were unsure.

"Why do you say that?" She asked, feeling insecure.

"Because you're really beautiful..." Butch said beginning to toss more stones in the water.

She looked at him in surprise, he never complemented her like this before.

"You're just saying that to make me feel better..." Butttercup said dryly.

"That's only if I was lying about it... But I'm not..." Butch gave her a look of what looked to be frustration.

"Why are you saying that then?" She actually blushed.

"Because it came to my mind when I looked at you..." He wrapped an arm around her, she felt this warmth radiating from his body.

"I don't understand..." Butttercup blushed more.

"Do I have to spell it out for you?" He chuckled, she really had no idea.

"What?" it was her turn to look confused.

"I. Think. You're. ATTRACTIVE." Butch said slowly, adding emphasis on the word attractive.

Butttercup sat there in stunned silence, how should she respond to that? How should she respond to that? It was such a blunt statement that it caught her off guard. Butch was definitely a person who liked to speak his mind and she didn't expect that to come out of his mouth at all.

"You barely know me..." She turned to look at the ground shyly.

"I only need my eyes to see beauty cupcake..." Butch said with a half assed smile.

"Um... Thanks I guess..." Butttercup said beginning to pick at the fabric of her jeans.

"Wow... That's your response? Not big on complements?" Butch laughed and she shook her head.

Butch then asked "Do you want me walk you home or something?" Butttercup shook her head again.

"I don't want to go home..." She said with a look of sadness.

" Wanna go to my place to hide away until you want to go home ?" Butch asked for shits and giggles.

"Are you sure?" She asked, a perplexed look on her face.

"I live by myself in an apartment close by... Are you interested?" He chuckled and Butttercup sighed before nodding slowly.

"Just for a few..." She became shy again.

"Come on then..." Butch said getting up and holding out a hand for her.

Butttercup took it and was easily pulled to her feet, she was caught by surprise and her eyes widened. Butch was incredibly strong and lifted her like she was a feather in the wind. She wasn't used to hanging out with people like her. She always had to be careful of her strength and had to hold back to prevent hurting Mitch and his friends.

Butch let her hand go and started to walk with her, she followed him with a look of uncertainty.

"Listen, I'm not gonna be fuckin around with someone who is obviously down in the rocks... So you're safe with me..." Butch said and Butttercup laughed, he was definitely cool to her.

They walked until Butch stopped at a duplex and walked to one of the bottom apartments. When he opened the door Butttercup saw something she didn't expect, the place was very clean and furnished with decent furniture. The kitchen and living room were all one room, with one bedroom and one bathroom. Butch had a couch and a arm chair with a box t.v. with a couple of random game systems and some movies.

"It's not something to write about, but it's got cable and doesn't smell like ass..." Butch chuckles and shuts the door behind them.

"It's actually nicer than I was expecting actually..." Butttercup shrugged.

"Yeah... I pay $800 for it... It's not bad... But it's home..." Butch said before plopping on the couch.

Butttercup stood by the door, unsure of what to do. She gained nerve and sat down a good foot away from him. They sat for a minute and the silence was broken by the land line ringing. Butch answers it.

"What do you want?" Butch said in a bored draw, Butttercup had to hold back a laugh.

"Brick, you can come over tomorrow I have company..." He paused.

"I don't have to disclose that information to you asshole..." Butch now smirked.

"I'm an adult... I can just toss you out the door..." Butch's smirk got larger.

"Oh shut up... I'm hanging up now..." Butch then held the phone away from his ear, rolling his eyes.

"Yeah, yeah I'll grab it on the way..." Butch groans in annoyance.

"Okay jeez! I get it! Bye Rapunzel!" Butch quickly hung up the phone, he bursts into fit of laughter.

"Rapunzel?" Butttercup questioned him while forcing back a grin.

"He's got really long hair so Boomer and I call him that to piss him off..." Butch grinned.

"Fascinating..." Butttercup said sarcastically with a smirk.

"What do you want to do? I didn't actually expect this to be the outcome of my night..." Butch asked, flopping back with his arms behind his head.

"To be honest... I don't know... Because I have never been here before..." Butttercup said awkwardly.

"I'm gonna take initiative and turn on cable..." Butch said grabbing the remote and turning on the television.

Both found out really quickly that they had very simlliar tastes as he flipped through the channels. When an old crappy horror movie came on and both greens look at each other and smirk before nodding in a silent agreement. They sat there for a long time laughing at the terrible effects, or the horrible acting as well as the dramatic dying scenes.

"It's like they're not even fuckin trying... But that makes it so much better!" Butch laughed and Butttercup joined him.

"She's screaming like a goat..." Butttercup said between breaths, that made Butch laugh harder.

"And there's the cliche of "My boyfriend was the killer?!" Like find new material..." Butch was trying to catch his breath now.

"I do need to hang out with you more... I'm actually having fun..." Butttercup smiles.

"Right back at you..." Butch nodded whole heartedly.

"By the way... I still think you're beautiful... Just saying... Mitch was a real idiot to pass up a chick like you..." Butch said and Butttercup blushed again.

"I have a temper... That's why... I also almost hurt him during sex..." Butttercup said with a half smile.

"Betcha I could handle you..." Butch said completely seriously.

Butttercup turned to him, mouth agape. What did he just say?

"What?" Butttercup asked in shock.

"A girl like you doesn't bother me... He's too soft... You need someone who can handle you physically and emotionally..." Butch said nonchalantly.

"What are you even saying..." Butttercup blushed even more.

"Maybe you have been looking for guys in the wrong places..." Butch looked her in the eyes.

Butttercup stared him in the eyes again like at the pond. This time she felt a spark, like something in her just went off all at once. There was one thought going off in her head at this moment, but she knew it'd be stupid to act upon it.

So why did she still want to do it?

The more she looked at him, the more she felt herself wanting to act on that thought. Butch seemed to be thinking the same exact thing, because there wasn't much time before she felt his lips roughly meeting hers. The force again was something she wasn't used too. She started to kiss back. When he pulled away she saw him look at her with a nervous expression.

"Shit... I'm sorry..." Butch said in panic.

"Don't be..." Butttercup said looking at his lips.

"What?" He asked before she pull him by the shirt to kiss her again.
