Some nights he could fight his feelings for her. Sometimes, he could even find a reason that it was better this way. Other nights, like tonight, he only remembered how it felt to love her and he did not have the strength to fight it.

He was standing by the waterfront just as they had done so many times before during their shared past. He knew he had no right to feel this way anymore. She had not been his to love in almost three decades now. His heart had not gotten the memo.

"I miss you Annie," he cried, as he buried his face in his hands. "Does it ever get better? Will I ever stop loving you this intensely?"

He looked out at the water, as if he was expecting the answer to the questions he knew he could never ask her. She was happy now. That was what mattered.

#

Some nights she could lie beside her fiancé and not wish he were someone else. Sometimes, she could even convince herself that he was the person she was supposed to love. Other nights, like tonight, she only remembered how it felt to love the man she wished were in bed with her. She did not have the strength to fight her feelings tonight.

She knew there was only one place she could be tonight. The place she had gone every time memories of him crept up. Where they had spent so many nights during their shared past.

She quietly crept out of bed and slipped into a pair of black pants and an oversized T-shirt of his she forgot to give back to him the last time she had stayed with him. The last thing she needed was for Finn to hear her calling out another man's name as she dreams of making love with him.

"I miss you Robert, "she thought, as she stepped out of her door. "Does it ever get easier? Does the ache ever go away?"

She knew she could never voice these feelings out loud. If she did, it would make it real. She did not know if she could handle what that meant. not yet.

#

When she arrived at the waterfront, she was not at all surprised to find him there. There were so many times throughout the years when they had ended up sharing quiet moments like this. Standing side by side without saying a word, they knew they were thinking of the same memory. It was that memory that had brought them to this place…What always brought them to this place.

"How could I have gotten it so wrong Robert? All this time. You were always my first."

He turns around to look at her. She could see the hint of tears burning his eyes so she took a step forward.

"Please don't cry sweetheart," she says gently, caressing the side of his face. "I remember."

"What do you remember Luv?"

"You. I remember how warm and gentle you were when we made love that first time. It was the first time I had ever given myself completely to a man before. You were my first Robert. You were my first everything."

"Annie," he whispers, his voice cracking with emotion. "Oh Annie."

They did not need the words to acknowledge what she was admitting but she wanted to say them anyways. She put both hands on his cheeks and looked into those penetrating blue eyes. She knew she could get lost in them just as she had then. This time she did not care.

"Peter isn't my son. He never was. How could he be when you were my first? Oh Robert, how could I have forgotten that? It was one of the most incredible moments of my life. You were so wonderful. You made me feel so safe. So loved. That is why I knew that despite my inexperience, there was no reason for me to be nervous. I had never wanted anyone more than you."

Robert suddenly forgot how to breathe, his words jumbled up inside his head as he looked into those heart-stopping eyes. He should be used to the way she captivated him by now but somehow he never was. She still left him completely at her mercy. Oh how he loved this woman. Craved her.

"Robert, what is it," she asked him softly. She knew him well enough to know when he was not telling her everything. The look he was giving her now-something about it seemed almost broken.

"When-When did it change for you Annie? When did you stop loving me that much?"

For a moment, she cannot hear anything but the sound of her own heartbeat. She was looking at him with new eyes now. It was as if Time had suddenly stopped and all that remained was the two of them. How did he not know how she felt about him? How did he think it was even possible to stop loving him? He was as much a part of her as the air she breathed.

"Oh Robert, I never did," she cried. "Don't you think that if I knew how to do that, I would have married Finn by now? I never figured out how to live without you damn it. I still don't know how."

She took a step forward as he searched her eyes for clarification. She had hurt him so badly in the past that he seemed almost hesitant to believe her now. As if he was trying to protect his heart. She would have none of that.

She reaches up and grabs his tie, pulling him against her until their lips were nearly touching. She loosens a few buttons on his dress shirt as she pulls his tie loose and drapes it around his neck. She wanted him to know exactly how she felt. "Can you feel that Scorpio. Can you feel how hot you are making me?"

He could feel something all right. Was she doing this on purpose? Did she honestly want to know what she was doing to him? How hard he was.

"That's what I thought," she whispered, as she pulled him into a deep kiss. Instinctively his fingers run through her hair as her tongue runs against his bottom lip, biting down slightly. Was this real. Was she really in his arms, turning him on as if they had never been apart? Dear God, she still tastes the same.

"Is there anything your tongue can't do," he asks seductively. Her eyes dance with desire as she nibbles on his earlobe.

"Wouldn't you like to know," she teases.

She kisses him again, her tongue slipping inside his mouth as it grows in intensity. The only thing he can think about is how much he wants her. He pulls her flush against his body as she moans into his mouth and he lifts her up into his arms, her legs winding around his waist as they back into the wall.

They were barely aware of when it started to rain as her arms came around his neck and his hand slid under her shirt. Even through her bra, he could feel her desire. She wanted him as much as he wanted her.

"Bobby," she gasped, when a sudden need for oxygen broke their kiss.

"Annie," he gulps.

Her hand slid down to the bulge in his pants and squeezed. Oh God, what was she doing to him? He has not been this turned on in decades. He wanted her lips around his cock as she made him cum. He wanted her inside him screaming his name.

He had been about to unhook her bra when clearer heads prevailed. They both stopped at the same time.

"We-We have to stop," Robert said quietly.

"I know," Anna agreed.

They did not have to say that neither of them wanted to. It was right there in their eyes.

"Will you go somewhere with me Annie," he pleaded, as he put her down. Anna knew him well enough to know that he was really struggling tonight. How could she deny him anything?

"I would go anywhere with you," she stated.

#

He was holding her hand when they walked up to this little house with a white picket fence. Anna smiled at him.

"I never figured you for a white picket fence type of guy," she joked.

"I never was until you."

She paused as she regarded him. She knew this was as close as she was going to get to an admission right now. Not when she was technically someone else's girl.

"Where did you find this place, "she asks instead.

"I was driving home from work one day and saw the for sale sign. I wanted to have somewhere where Noah could run around and Emma could practice her dance moves. A place where our family could sit around and have barbecues or roast s'mores over the grill. "

"You getting soft on me Scorpio?"

He opened the door and they walked inside. "No. I just have come to realize how much family means to me. After I had cancer and almost died, I saw my life flash before my eyes and I realized what was important. It was too late for you and me but I hoped I was not too late to fix the rest of my relationships. Now I guess it is time for us to talk about why I left."

"Oh Robert, I know why you left. I was angry at first but not anymore. You being alive is what is really important."

He took her hand and led her over to the couch. "Sit with me Luv. Let me get this out."

"Anything you need," she agreed.

He sat down and she moved a little closer to him. This was nice, she thought. Talking about the past and their dreams for the future.

"When I left for Bern without you, it wasn't because I did not want you there. I did want you there. I wanted you there so much that it hurt. I also knew that if you were, I would be more worried about you then I would be about myself. I wouldn't be able to concentrate on my recovery."

She put her hand on his knee. She knew how hard this was for him. How hard it was for both of them. They had lost their chance then. She also knew he was holding something back.

"What else?"

"Of course you would know," he says quietly. "I can't keep anything from you."

"You don't have to sugar coat things Robert. I have always been able to handle your true feelings. Just talk to me sweetie. I want to know."

He takes a deep breath as Anna cuddles into him. He knows what she is doing. She is giving him strength.

"I-I didn't know if I would be able to beat this Anna. I couldn't stand the thought that you would have to watch me die again."

"Oh Robert."

What could she say to that? He had always been the most selfless person she knew. He had given up his life so she and Robin would live. Of course, this would be about protecting her too. How could she blame him for that when she knew she would have done the same thing if she had been the one with Cancer? They had lost so much when that tanker exploded. He was just trying to protect her from more heartache. Even if it cost him his chance with her.

She reached up and touched his cheek, looking into his beautiful eyes. It did not matter how much time passed, she still got lost in them. He put his hand on top of hers; letting her know in his unspoken way that he knows that she gets it. They never needed words to communicate before and this time was no different.

"What if it's not too late for us Robert? What if this is how it is supposed to be? "

"Anna."

"I'm serious Robert. What if we had to go through all of that pain just so we could be stronger when we found our way back to each other. What if we are meant to be together?"

He caresses the side of her cheek with the back of his thumb. Looks into her gorgeous brown eyes. What was he looking for? A sign that she was telling him the truth or a sign that she was not? She had been the beginning and the end of him for so many years. Could he really trust himself to go down this road again, knowing how it has ended every time before?

"Don't say that unless you really mean it Luv. You are engaged to another man. I know you are having problems with him but…"

His words die in his throat as she pulls him in for another deep kiss, her fingers running through his hair as his slide around her waist, pulling her closer. He can feel the heat of their bodies as they adjust on the couch and he has to put some distance between them or risk going too far. Anna understands what is happening here.

"You would never be my backup plan. Don't you even think that?"

"Can you blame me? Anna, you told me that I needed to let you be happy, that what we had could only be in the past, that you loved Finn now, that you did not want to get married again. What was I supposed to think? The next day you accepted his proposal. It kind of makes me think it was just me you did not want to marry again."

"Robert that's not-that is not at all what I meant?"

"It is how it felt to me Luv. "

"I hurt you," she says. It was not a question. "I'm sorry Robert."

"I'm not asking for an Apology. You know that your happiness is all that has ever mattered to me. I'm just trying to understand what changed."

She took a deep breath as she looked at him, knowing she needed to find the words to help him understand.

"When I saw you standing by the waterfront tonight, a thousand different memories played out in my head. They were not any different from the dreams that I have almost every night- except this time; I knew they were more than just dreams. It was like looking through a time capsule. In that moment, the only thing I could think about was how much I loved you and how much I wanted to be in your arms again. I never stopped loving you Robert. I just tried to live without you. Tonight, I just got tired of pretending that you did not mean everything to me."

"Then why did you accept his marriage proposal? Why tell me that you were in love with him? That he was your future. Why? You know you could have had me anytime you wanted. All you had to do was ask. I would have traded everything I owned for another chance with you. You know that."

Tears well in her eyes as she reaches out to stroke his cheek. There was so much pain in his eyes. Pain that she had caused. It hurt her to know that she had made him doubt the one thing they used to know without question. She knew his heart like the back of her hand and he used to know hers. Back when she did not put him last on her list of priorities.

"I wish I had the words to tell you how sorry I am for making you feel as if I did not have your back anymore. You are the most important person in my life and I wish I could take back all the times I did not put you first. You always put me first."

"I never asked to be first Luv. I guess I just thought that people like Heinrich Faison would have at least been lower on your list of priorities."

"He should have been. And Finn…"

She swallows the lump in her throat as she looks at him. He looked so lost now. As if his entire world was contingent on what she had to say next. She took his hand.

"Finn never should have been there either Robert. I do not even know why I said yes. The whole time he was making a spectacle of himself, I was looking at you. You never would have made such a scene when you asked me to marry you. You would not have put me on the spot like that."

"You also would have had some idea that I was going to ask you. Why would Finn do that to you luv? Why blindside you like that when you had never even discussed the idea of marriage before. "

"I can only assume it was because he was threatened by you. "

"How so?"

"Oh come on Robert. Do not tell me you have not noticed. The way I look at you. It is not the same as I look at him."

"So he thought that he could trap you into marriage and what? That your feelings for me would just go away. When have we ever not had feelings for each other? Marriage or no marriage, that is not going to change."

"I know…But he is not part of our world Robert. He did not understand that."

"That still doesn't explain why you said yes."

"I didn't know how to say no to him in front of a room full of people. I thought I could find a way to talk to him once we got home but he seemed so happy. I did not know how to break his heart."

"So you just broke yours instead? Come on Anna. You are not going to agree to marry someone because you do not know how to tell him no? That is not you. What are you not telling me?"

Why did he have to know her so well? Even after all these years, he still knew her better than she ever knew herself. He was going to make her say it. He deserved to hear her say it.

"I said yes because…because I knew he could never hurt me. Not like you. Nobody ever hut me like you. I could not face the possibility of losing you. Just thinking about that makes me ache Robert. Finn does not have that effect on me."

"Oh Annie," he sighs.

She puts a finger to his lip to stop him from continuing. "I wanted you to come after me Robert. I wanted you to ask me not to marry him. To give me another option."

"You know I would never put you in that position."

"I know. It did not stop me from wanting it. From wanting you. "

Robert clears his throat as he watches her. Was she saying what he thought she was? Had she done the same thing that he had when he had married Holly—settled for 'good enough' to protect his heart from that kind of intense heartache that he had experienced when he lost her? Had she held back a piece of herself just as he had?

"What would you have said if I had asked you Annie? Would you have really said yes?"

"I cannot answer that Robert. You never asked."

"I never knew you wanted me to."

"And now that you do?"

"Stay with me Annie. Let me hold you in my arms tonight. You cannot go back to Finn—"

"No," she interrupts. "There is no Finn and I anymore. There is only you and I."

"Are you saying?"

"I am leaving Finn Robert. I am leaving him for you. "

"Are you-Are you sure?"

"I am sure that I love you and that I want you to hold me for the rest of our lives. If you need to go slow…"

"When has slow ever worked for us Annie. You are already my heart. I want you in my life. In my bed."

"Is that a proposal?"

"You'll know when it is."

She smiles as she leans in to kiss him, his hands wrapping around her waist as he pulls her closer.

"You better make it good. It will be the last time."

"You better believe it will be."

He takes a step closer to her, tugging her against him by her waist. He kisses her tenderly as their bodies reacquaint themselves with the familiar places they used to know by heart. With every tender kiss, Anna is more convinced than ever that she could never get enough of this man. They had spent so many years apart and yet somehow when he was holding her; it felt as if they had been kissing just like this for as long as they had known what love was.

"Take me to your room," she says.

He wanted to kiss her again more passionately but he knew this was not the time. Instead, he takes her hand and leads her into his bedroom.

"I Guess you don't need to borrow one of my shirts," he says, tentatively.

She bites her bottom lip as she looks at him. Why was she so nervous all of a sudden? This was Robert.

"You don't mind do you?"

"I told you, you could keep it. It looks much better on you anyways."

He looked at his feet as she went to pull her boots off. Why was he suddenly so nervous? This was Anna.

"Robert," she called, and he looked back up at her. He went to turn down the sheets but she stopped him. She put her hand over his. It was trembling just as much as hers was. She brings it to her lips and kisses his knuckles.

"It's okay Scorpio. I am a little nervous too. "

"You are?"

"Oh Robert, of course I am," she says, as she kisses him softly. "We haven't been this close in a long time. I'm not the same woman I was when we were married."

"You are still everything I ever wanted. You are still breathtakingly beautiful."

"Still charming the ladies I see."

"Just you," he says, as he pulls the sheets down and she gets into his bed. He strips down to his boxers and slips inside next to her.

"You are still the sexiest man I have ever seen," she says, her hand now caressing his bare chest. Neither of them seemed to know what to do in this moment so Robert simply wrapped his arms around her and she put her head on his chest.

"You feel so good Luv. I have wanted to hold you for so long."

"I feel the same way. You have always been my home Robert. There were so many nights where all I wanted was for you to hold me like this again. You have no idea how much I have missed you."

"I think I do," he says as he kisses her passionately. "I have missed you so much that I ache."

She smiles at him as she leans in for another kiss. Her hands run through his hair as he pulls her closer, and his run down her thigh and under her top. It was just as it always was with them. One kiss and all they could think about was more. She could feel his heart beat against hers as her lips part and his tongue slips inside her mouth, deepening the kiss. There was such tenderness in the way they held each other as they kissed, but there was also an intense need for each other, a raging fire that only grew stronger with every touch. This was the reason they knew they had to stop.

"I hate to say this but I think we need to slow it down," Robert says.

Anna blushes as she looks at him. "What can I say? You are the only man that has ever had this effect on me. "

"I'm not complaining," he says, kissing her once more.

"Soon Scorpio. As soon as I can break up with Finn then you and I are going to pick this up again."

"And you will get an entirely different response then," he quips, making her laugh as she snuggles into him again.

"Tonight, I am just happy to have you in my arms," Anna says.

"Holding you has always been one of my favorite things to do. Thank you for staying Luv. I'm not ready to let you go."

"I'm never letting you go again."

"Works for me."

She smiles as she rests her head on his chest again and he kisses the top of her head.

"Good night Annie. Sweet dreams."

"With you, they always are. Good night Bobby."

He wraps his arms around her and they are both asleep within minutes of each other, finally content to be where they were always meant to be.

#

Anna awoke the next morning snuggled into Robert's side, her hand entwined with his. Her phone was ringing but she did not want to answer it. She just wanted to stay wrapped up in his arms.

"It might be Finn," he suggests.

"He can wait. This can't."

She rolls over and kisses him deeply, his arms wrapping around her as he holds her close. Just as the kissing intensifies, they hear a scratching at the door followed by what sounded like the barking of a dog. Anna just smiles as she pulls away from the kiss.

"Do you have a dog Scorpio," she asks, as he kisses her neck.

"Didn't I tell you I have a dog," he reasons.

"You most certainly did not."

He smiles at her as he runs his fingers through her hair. "Yeah well, we were a little busy last night."

She takes his hand as she looks at him. "And now I want to meet your dog."

"Of course you can meet Jade," he says, and she raises an eyebrow at him.

"Jade? You named your dog after one of the famous pieces I used to fence?"

"Well I couldn't very well name her after some hot artwork could I?"

She laughs as she hits him lightly on the arm. "Only you would name your dog after a piece of jewelry."

"Hey, it's not just any jewelry. As I recall, you liked it when I bought you things in Jade. It was important to our history."

"So this was about me?"

"Everything I do is about you."

"Oh Robert, I love you."

"I love you too Annie. Now let me introduce you to the newest member of our family."

"Did Robin give her to you too?"

He laughs as he takes her hand and they walk down the hallway. "She thought if I had another lady in the house, maybe I would have an easier time letting you go."

"Didn't work did it?"

"Not even close."

He opens the door to the patio and Jade jumps up to lick Robert's face. He rubs her tummy.

"I missed you too girl," he says. "I'd like you to meet someone very important to me. Jade, this is Anna. Anna this is Jade."

Anna takes a step forward and Jade holds out one of her paws. Anna shakes it as she leans down to her level.

"Nice to meet you Jade. I bet you love your daddy very much. I'll let you in on a little secret…so do I."

She licks Anna's cheek then and Robert just smiles. "I knew she would love you just as much as I do."

Anna smiles as she leans in to rest her head on his shoulder. It was odd that all of their dreams were coming true now…only so much later than before. All but one. The one they knew was impossible now.

"What is it Luv? Why the long face?"

She takes his hand and they move over to sit on the patio chairs as Jade runs around in the backyard. This was going to sound silly now.

"I was just thinking about how this house is so much like the one we never got to live in. We had so many dreams then Robert. They took all of that away."

"Who says? I mean, I know we might be a little older now but it seems to me that our dreams are coming true now. Better late than never right?"

"There's one dream that will never come true now Robert and I hate that…that I was never able to give you a son. That it was all ripped away from us so tragically."

He caresses the side of her cheek with his thumb and kisses her softly on the lips. He was thinking about that too. About how much they had wanted more children…how their little boy had not survived the explosion. Maybe that was part of why they had taken so long to find their way back. It had taken that long to heal from the enormity of the trauma.

"Oh Anna, you did give me a son. His name was Andrew. Just because he did not survive does not mean he was not a part of us. We will always be his parents Luv."

Fresh tears rolled down her cheek as she looked at him. "All those dreams that we had about our family and filling our home with lots of children…it can never happen now. The pain that I feel after losing Andrew…"

"I know baby, I know," he soothes as he takes her into his arms. "I know it's not the same and I know we are probably much too old to…"

"Who you calling old," she interrupts.

"If it's still something you want, we can always find a child or two to adopt. Nothing is impossible Annie. Our dreams are still right here in our hearts."

She wipes the tears from her eyes as she looks at him. "I love you Robert Scorpio."

"And I do love you, my beautiful Annie."

He holds her in his arms as they watch their dog run around the yard. This was their home. They might have to adjust their dreams a little but they could still have everything they thought was gone forever. They could still have a life together.

"How about you make us some breakfast and then I will get going. The sooner I tell Finn that I don't love him anymore, the sooner I can get back to your arms."

"Home Annie. You are my home. You always have been. You always will be."

"I feel the same way about you Bobby. You have always been home to me. The one place I knew I would always belong. I was looking for my place in the world for so long before I met you and then you came along and it was as if my heart knew the search was over. You are my place in the world Robert. I love you so much."

"There are no words to describe what you have always meant to me. You are my family. My heart. My soul. Everything good in me is because of you. You taught me how to love unselfishly. And God, how I love you."

He pulled her into his arms once more and they kissed as if their very lives depended on it. Everything that was inside of them was in love with each other. When the need for air finally broke the kiss, they rested their foreheads against each other and sighed.

"All right, now I am ready," he said.

"Me too," she agreed."

#

Anna sat in her car for a good twenty minutes before finally gathering her thoughts enough to go talk to Finn. She knew this would not be an easy conversation. She would have to admit things she knew would only hurt him and she did not relish that. She was finally willing to admit that she is in love with Robert but that does not mean that she has forgotten that for a time Finn had been exactly what she needed.

When Anna walked into the house, she noticed that he was doing that nervous twitchy thing again. When he turned back around and checked his phone, she knew he was probably waiting for her to call him back. She knew she probably should have but she never wanted to bring him into bed with Robert. She knew she should feel bad about that but she could never feel bad about wanting Robert to hold her a little longer.

"Where were you Anna? I've been trying to call you all morning."

"I was somewhere safe."

"You mean you were with Scorpio."

She takes a deep breath as she walks further into the house and puts her purse down. "I think we both need to admit that this isn't working."

"You are avoiding the question Anna. Were you with Robert last night?"

"You already know the answer to that so why are you even asking."

"I wanted to see if you would admit it."

"Are you trying to start another fight? There is no need. We have not been the same since you proposed. I'm finally going to do something about that."

"Anna…"

"I don't want to hurt you Finn but I can't do this anymore. I never should have agreed to marry you."

"You don't mean that."

"Finn, you asked me to marry you in front of a room full of people. I told you that I did not want to change things between us. Why would you think that I wanted to marry you? What part of 'I like the way things are,' would suggest that I wanted to take that leap?"

"How else could I be completely sure of your feelings for me unless I knew that you would marry me?"

"You were testing me?"

"I was worried that I was going to lose you. I knew you and Scorpio were close. I was afraid that if he got the chance to ask you to marry him before I did…"

He stumbled backwards from the impact of her hand against his cheek. Why was she so angry, he wondered?

"I am not some God damned prize to be won Finn. "

"But you would have said yes wouldn't you? Do not lie to me Anna. We both know that when you say you don't want to get married again, that does not include your one true love. The man you cannot seem to let go of even now. "

Anna takes a deep breath, lets it out slowly. She had come here to end things with Finn. Whatever he did or did not do no longer mattered. He was never going to be Robert.

"I wanted him to ask me Finn. I will admit that much. I am sorry that I hurt you but I have to call off our wedding. I am not going to marry you Finn. I can't."

"Because it's him that you want right?"

A single tear rolls down her cheek as she thinks about all the time that she wasted denying how she felt about Robert. Trying to pretend that she could lose herself in Finn when what she really wanted was Robert.

"If I had only followed my heart then maybe I could have avoided all this pain that I know I am causing you. I am sorry Finn. I do not want to hurt you anymore. I have to end this."

She slips the ring off her finger and places it into his palm. "You should keep this. It does not mean the same thing to me as it does to you."

"There's nothing I can say that will change your mind?"

"Why would you want that Finn? My heart will always be Robert. You deserve a woman who can love you that much. It will never be me."

"Did you have sex with him already," he questions angrily. Anna wishes he knew her better than that but it was just another reason they would never be right for each other. Robert never would have questioned her loyalty.

"I would never do that to you. Neither would he," she finally says.

No need to get angry at something that he only said in pain. She just wanted to get back to Robert.

"I find that hard to believe. Are you going to marry him Anna?"

"Finn, Robert is not the villain that you think he is. He did not try to take me away from you, nor is he going to propose to me when I have just broken up with you. If you are asking if that is in our future then the answer is yes. Someday I will marry him. I will marry him because he is the only man I can see in my future. The only man I want beside me when I am old and grey. I am sorry if that hurts you but you did ask "

"I guess I did. Goodbye Anna. I hope you will be happy."

"I already am. I hope someday you will be too."

Anna walks passed him and up the stairs. He knows she is probably packing some things for Robert. Robert, he admits. He had always known someday he would lose her to Robert. He just had not expected it to be today.

#

He had given her a key so she let herself in. He was washing dishes without his shirt on, his dog beside him wagging her tail.

Damn. That is one fine looking specimen of a man, she thinks. How lucky is she that he is all hers now. The things that body does to her senses. The things he makes her feel. Oh hell, she wants to get some of that right now.

"Do you have any idea how turned on I am just watching you? Damn it Scorpio…your body is just so god dammed perfect."

He turns off the faucet and opens the backdoor for Jade to go back outside. He has never seen anything so beautiful.

"How long have you been watching me," he asks, with a grin. "Not that I mind."

Her arms come around his neck as she leans a little closer. "Long enough to know that I need to see more of your body. How long are you going to make me wait to have you? I want to feel your hard cock inside me filling me up."

He takes her hand and lets her feel the bulge in his pants. "Does this feel like the erection of a man who is willing to wait one more second?"

"Tell me what you are going to do to me Scorpio? I want to hear you talk dirty to me again."

"I want to touch you Annie. I want to feel your wet pussy tighten around me as you scream for me."

She could still feel his breath on her neck, the desire coursing through her veins. She did not know how much longer she could wait for him. God damn it, she wanted him inside her now.

"Touch me Scorpio. I want your hands all over me."

"Just my hands?"

"I want you inside me now."

He looked up at her to find the surge of emotions dancing in her eyes matched his own. Lust. Desire. Passion. It was as if the entire world disappeared and all that remained was the two of them. His hand moved to her hip as he tugged her against him, his lips claiming hers in a hungry kiss. It was amazing how even after all these years, it only took one kiss to awaken those primal desires that burn inside us all. He needed her as much as he needed his next breath.

"Annie," he gasps, as he lifts her up onto the counter, his hands running through her hair. She puts a finger to his lips to keep him from saying anything more.

"I know Bobby," she whispers against his ear. "I won't make it to the bedroom either. I want to see you naked. I want your lips on my skin. All of it. I want all of you."

"Then you shall have it Luv. Every last part of me."

It took no more than a split second for him to have her pressed against him on the counter, as if they had never left each other, their hunger for each other growing with each garment he removes. It was almost like a drug. One touch and the excitement electrifies, sending shivers down her spine. Every kiss, every caress, every touch, is fire. She was alive. With him, every part of her is awake and alert. Every part of her is alive.

Before she even remembers what happened, they are naked and he is kneeling between her thighs. He looks at her with those dark eyes full of passion and she has to remind herself to breathe. He was the love of her life. The reason she was alive. Why had it taken her so long to figure that out? It did not matter now. All that mattered was him.

"Make love to me Robert? I need you."

He runs his fingers through her hair, lets it out of her clip, just the way he always had in the past. Only Robert could make something so innocent so erotic.

"I have waited to hear you say those words for so long."

It was not just that she loved him. It was how she needed him. That was what set his senses on fire and made him come alive. She always had that effect on him. Anna Devane did not need any man but she needed him. How could that not drive him wild?

He kisses her deeply as she arches her back and he thrust into her warm wet folds. Oh, God she felt just as good as she had the last time he had been with her. She felt like home. She digs her nails into his back as he buries himself deeper inside her. Oh dear God, he feels better than she remembers. How had she waited this long to be with him again? How had she not remembered that he would always feel like home to her?

He pulls her into his lap and she wraps her legs around his back as he continues to thrust in and out of her even harder, and faster. He was still inside her and she still needed more.

"Oh God Robert," she screams. "YES. OH GOD YES."

He smiles because he loves to hear the way his name sounds on her lips. How the pleasure he is giving her affects her. There is nothing better than making love to this woman. How had he survived so long without her?

"SHIT ANNIE," he screams. "SHIT. How do you DO that?"

"Does that mean you like," she teased.

"Oh GOD ANNIE, I more than like. I need more of you. So much more."

"Then how about we take this to your bedroom," she says. "My back won't survive this counter much longer."

"As long as you agree to stay there all day with me…"

His words die in his throat as she kisses him feverishly. Neither of them intended to go anywhere today. They planned to spend an entire day in bed together, making love and spending time together making up for all those years they missed.

She giggles as he steps down from the counter and sweeps her up into his arms with a little twirl. She was so happy now. Happier than she had been in a long time. She could not wait for their future to start.

"I have no intention of letting you leave this bed for at least a couple days Mr. Scorpio," she quips.

He sets her down on the bed and smirks at her. "That works for me."

"I thought it might," she says, grinning at him.

He kisses up her feet to her thighs, her stomach, her neck and collarbone and finally her lips. He left no part of her untouched. She was his everything. He planned to show her just how cherished she was starting today.

"Someone has been keeping himself in great shape, "Anna purred as she ran her hand up his chest.

"Yeah well…I kept hoping you would come back to me and I needed to be able to keep up with you."

"No problem there Bobby. Your body is in perfect shape. You don't need to sleep yet do you, old man?"

"Not until I have had you at least a couple more times," he says with that twinkle in his eyes and she laughs as he rolls them over and kisses her again.

"Good because I wasn't planning on letting you sleep any time soon. Make me purr Bobby. Make me scream. "

She had just had him on the counter and she already wanted him again. She had never felt that way with Finn. Not even once.

"With pleasure," he says seductively, and pulls her in for another deep kiss, his hand sliding down her bare thigh. The world could get along just fine without them for a day. Today was for them. Today was for loving. They did not plan to waste one more second of it.
