If anyone were to say, especially after ALL the events that transpired that Namor was an honored guest in the palace of Wakanda, lead by King M'Baku, one would think you were making it up. Yet, there they were, M'Baku, Shuri, Attuma, Namor and Yatzil all walking into a grand dining room. The palace had prepared a feast in very short notice. On the grand dinning table were various things such as in cooked meats, vegetables and seafood. No one knew what Namor ate so there was a bit of everything to cover all the bases.
On one side of the table sat King M'Baku. Next to him was Attuma looking like he clearly didn't want to be there and wanted to be home with Okoye. On the other side all sitting next to one another was Shuri, followed by Yatzil and then Namor in between.
M'Baku looked over the table pleased with the food. The servants placed food in front of the guests and M'Baku was the first to dive in. Feeling overly stuffed, he let out a sigh and leaned back into his chair with the high back. He looked at Namor studying him.
"Wakanda thanks you. Those pirates that you had been dealing with, they were very close to discovering Wakanda."
"How so?" Namor asked from his seat. To be polite, he had sampled much of everything when it came to the food.
"The were close to our barriers. Thankfully you got to them before they advanced any further. That one boat chase in particular could have sent them crashing into Wakanda. I'm glad you intervened." He nodded and praised.
"You are welcome. They were kidnapping various people. Hostages. Demanding ransoms. The water wants nothing to do with that." Namor replied.
M'Baku arched a brow and crossed his arms at his reply.
"The water? As in you? So you're only doing things if the 'water' is involved?" He asked, a tone in his voice.
"M'Baku." Shuri said in a tone that was basically saying 'don't start.'
Yatzil leaned forward into her seat.
"Speaking of discovering things! I discovered Talokan!" She said looking at her mom. "But the sun was gone-"
"What?" Shuri reacted surprised.
"The people were starving." Yatzil continued. "Still are. The sun being gone messed up the growth of crops. What if we enriched the soil mom? Accelerate the growth of crops?" She asked eagerly. "We could do all sorts of stuff down there."
Shuri sat in contemplation as she listened to her daughters suggestions. "We could do that. I could come up with something."
Namor leaned forward to get a view of Shuri. He was so in love with her. Every time he looked at her she took his breath away.
"Thank you." He said softly. He meant it. Even after everything they had been through, she was still kind, still wanting to help.
"It wasn't like when you went down there mom." Yatzil continued.
"You mean when Namor kidnapped her." M'Baku interrupted with his correction.
Shuri shot him a glare. "Namor did not kidnap me." She replied back in a harsh tone of voice.
M'Baku rolled his eyes.
"Right right. You requested to go down there, see Namor and stay. All the while being his hostage."
"I wasn't his hostage!" Shuri said angrily at M'Baku.
"If it wasn't for Nakia rescuing your mother, Yatzil, your dad here-" M'Baku was cut off.
"You mean if it wasn't for Nakia murdering one of my own in cold blood?" Namor interrupted.
"Well maybe if you didn't hold our Princess hostage due to your kidnapping, the late Queen Mother wouldn't have needed to send rescue." M'Baku countered.
"The Queen Mother violated the agreement between the Princess and I." Namor replied but one could tell he was on the verge of losing his cool.
"And she paid for it with her life didn't she? Not like any of us knew of any agreement. Still looked like a kidnapping to me." M'Baku replied to Namor.
Shuri slammed her fist onto the table. "That is enough, M'Baku!"
M'Baku leaned back into his chair lazily, pleased with the reaction he got. Shuri stood, she gave the Wakanda Forever salute and dismissed herself from the table. Attuma followed suit. The only ones that remained were Yatzil, Namor and M'Baku.
M'Baku looked Namor over, a challenge in his eyes as if daring him to say something that will get him into trouble. Yatzil stood and took Namor's hand.
"Come with me. I want to show you the library." She said warmly.
Namor nodded, taking her hand and following her lead not before grabbing his weapon and leaving with her out of the grand dining room. M'Baku rolled his eyes and scooted all the food closer to him.
"More for me." He said and began to eat once more.
-CHAPTER INCOMPLETE- SEE BIO FOR NOTES-
A/N on "discovering" Wakanda: I feel like Wakanda is like Themyscira in the Wonder Woman movies. If you remember from the first movie, after the crash with sexy Chris Pine, a search boat came to look for him. It was foggy and stormy yet when the boat reached a certain point, it became sunny. He tested by moving his hand back and forth and the whole scenery changed beyond that point. That's how I imagine Wakanda. Also in Endgame when Cap was taking Vision to Wakanda, someone said he better have his coordinates right or they will crash. So I wonder if outsiders would just crash if they touched a barrier or phase through like Thymyscria like in WW. I still think WW so I plan on using that in the story.
