Chapter 13: Mirror, Mirror Into The Darkness, What Do You See Staring Back?

Ami's Weightless body drifted and dropped right where she had hoped to be. In her hands, was a shard of the broken mirror of Amaterasu as Kaede and Haru both stood still. A cloud of ice coming right towards their wide eyed, young ally.

~ Back! ~

The shroud moved as if hurt, the flickering eyes showing through the shroud of grey as it was toppled by Haru's spell to deflect the first attempt on Ami's life. "My powers still won't work against her –

~The time will come when they must, Ami – Chan. ~ Kaede growled as she deflected more miasma cast dark ice crystal daggers at her skin and ceremonial robes, tearing them as the demon had intended. ~ You must try to stay from her until then. We shall protect you. No matter what, Amaterasu chose YOU to be her vassal of power over the sun and hope to our world. ~

Ami sniffled and wiped at her eyes messily. "What can I do?"

~ You can trust all of us, mama! We're not goin' anywhere else in this universe.~

A windy gust settled as her face lit up brightly as a summer's day. "Jackie!!" Ami cried out as the two fell into each other via a similar entrance back to their world. Ava's shadow self, her demonic self was not pleased and struck out with a harpy's yell.

"That's enough , Ava Marie."

Dick was there, Slade's possessor distracted by Verra and Kayu, who had let Kori join in from the air. Dami twirled his staff as Anna looked on, Raku's magical merge extending as it ripped open the sky.

~ Welcome home, heroes….. ~ Hakuro and Raku both could be glad about one thing, they now knew who they were fighting for. Ami smiled back as the merged self didn't see it coming. As the false Hades struck the half deity through the chest in one blow.

Chains pulled them apart as Raku's book reappeared. The thing didn't have a chance as Raku's voice was caged by a tendril of black keeping his mouth shut. The boy struggled and his re-count with Lilith soon had him screaming past the gag. Aiden ran closer, but Verra jumped in the way, shaking his head as Aiden clenched his weapons tighter in his grip. "He's afraid…I can't leave –

~ I believe story time has ended, little imp. ~

Raku's body went slack as the book was bound in many chains. The book was the lamp of a genie, so it controlled the half jinn to go into a state of unawareness very quickly. He wasn't human, however, Hakuro had no such magic to bind him back. He thrashed until his arms were gripped, his eyes useless anyway as the miasma swallowed him up until only his head peeked out from the black mass.

"Someone do something!!" Jacklyn shouted, her nerves knowing full well this was…not at all what she had expected to find when her time had come to be a heroine.

The creature within had no body, no form as the form that had Slade cursed by it, began to change while the mercenary was ejected from the miasma cage. He sputtered and was kicked by the tendrils, sent to the dirt where there were onlookers as concerned as they were for their own families.

Anna ran to him, trying to help the reckless asshole up; who'd done this to them AGAIN. She couldn't be mad, why?? He was…. the one who had tried to cage her. Had played it off as a "teacher" when he'd just wanted to keep her around to be….. really old! Immortal old!

Dami knew as Ava let out a scream as Anya. Her wings extended and her body became light, exposed, as Kori flew up, only to like Verra be thrown into the ground. ~ None shall pass it by, this world…. I will take it and do as I wish. The girl will only strengthen my will and way, IF the child of that sun deity comes hither. ~

"NO!" Everyone shouted in unison. "You're not a god, so what are you?" Slade spat out that and the stuff that had kept him silent from his lungs. Heart beating, Anna stood up, Aiden and Richard too following. "Let go of our family, whatever you are." Dick's pact with Ares was starting to wane, the power of this cloud of lifelessness was…. eternally too large to beat. All of them felt weak, but still they marched up to it. "Steal our lives, and we won't bow. None of us will be what you want…."

Raku's screamed as Hakuro and he ended up chained to the book of Manifesto through their hearts. A link binding their souls to whatever this monster was. Ami bit her lip. "Wait…" She looked to Ava, to Slade and Ann and her brothers, yes, brothers now…. family. Haru shook her head and Kaede was ready to fight. "I'll go. Ava needs me –

"You're not to give this creature what it wants!" Kori refused outwardly. "It is a monster with a very large stomach, and we must find a way –

"You can, for now I have to do this." Ami left their care and like Ava, her clothing and protection turned into a light cocoon. So, it could feed off of their elemental magic. "I'll see you soon –

"NO!" Anna shot fire at it, but her magic was weak as she shouted and pounded her fists to the dirt. "Ami – girl. Don't do this; Erebus said we can win this thing. You can't…why can't you just shut it off?? You can't die! I –

"We won't stop." Aiden shot at the monster, with Raku shut his eyes as Hakuro was still trying to keep his blind ones open. "They mean the world to us, and I don't care what you say – we are going to send you off of this planet! That's a promise."

The demon surrounded by curses and shields then let his body breathe life, as his army of undead soon rose. ~ I devoured the magic of the god Hades; he will not rise to see it, nor shall you have your time to stop my assimilation and recreation of all CREATION. ~~

Starfire shot her bolts, yet without the sun, as Anna she was little more than grounded. Ares tried one shot more, yet a pang hit through Dick's chest as he fell over.

Raku's body was becoming the same as Ava and Anna's.

~ Don't sleep! Wake up!! ~ Hakuro screamed out as he tried to fight the darkness dragging him into a shell of its choosing. The devil of a cloud only laughed in a dark voice to its prey, seeing their fear fill him until the main course, of course.

~ You could not stop this coming of my decade; my era of a gods' domination... The man who does not lie truly was not the only one to bring me to your world; but the moon. She... She was my gateway towards your utter destruction…~

The demon bellowed a roar and the bodies, the devastation all was left apart. Ava and Ami were going to both become the power sources of sun and moon that destroyed both spirit and the world of modern man. And Raku with Hakuro, were going to boost that power tenfold as the demon continued to grow, and grow…and grow.

I based this on influences from Sailor moon Second movie or was it third with the dream devouring alien and of course, Digimon Tamers' D – Reaper. Right now, the devouring source is not a god, but eats them for breakfast. What is it and how did one reaction "doubt" bring it to their plane? Find out! Anna and Aiden are down two three elementals of their five point star. Like I said; Raku is Spirit(life and creation) Aiden is Earth, Ava is Water, Ami is Wind and of course, Anna is Fire. We knew where this was gonna go, but what happens when air meets water? Freezing in time does, and life? Well, say no more but an eternal silent winter…..however, the demon only looks at their roles, their pasts and the next part will be a bit redundant to snap the pack back to life. Find out what becomes of the vassal of Amaterasu, the child and reincarnate of Lady Reia, and Raku – the half djinn lord's last son of a dead world.
