"S-stay away! No, No, NOOOO!" The man let out a death-curdling scream as Delta drove his drill into him before throwing him off. Delta then turned to the side to see a group of cowering people. Delta then released a groan and pointed away to tell them to run. Getting the message, the cowering group scrambled away.

Seeing them run away, Delta turned back and continued with his mission. As Delta ran, he began to think about the current situation.

'Why are these people attacking an innocent village? Who is this Chief God they're preaching about? And how do some of these people have plasmids as well?' But whatever the reason, Delta would care little about it as they were harming innocent people. In fact, he hates how much it's starting to remind him of the zealous preaching of the Rapture family.

Rounding a corner, Delta saw another group of knights blocking the road before him. The knights saw Delta instantly, and they readied their weapons. Delta, Doing the same, took out his machine gun and aimed it at them.

"Surrender now, monster, and your death will be swift! If not, then we can't promise you a painless death." There was a small silence between them before Delta responded with a roar of his and started firing his gun.

In seconds, most of the soldiers were riddled with holes, and the lucky few managed to duck into cover. The few unlucky ones to still be alive were screaming in pain on the floor or were about to die a slow, painful death as they choked on their blood.

As Delta continued to fire his weapon, it soon began to make clicking sounds. Delta quickly began to load a new belt into the machine gun, not before placing a decoy. Hearing Delta stop firing, the surviving soldier peeked out of their hiding spots. Seeing Delta decoy standing there, they didn't hesitate to rush it and began attacking it. As they attacked the Delta's decoy, they didn't realize the damage the decoy was doing to them. Slowly, with each attack, the soldiers began to kill themselves.

Delta stood there and watched as he leeched off their life through the decoy. Pulling his drill out, Delta walked over to the group before swinging his drill at one of them and instantly killing them as the end of the drill collided with his head.

Seeing their comrade die before them caused the decoy's effect to dispel. They realized they'd been duped and focused their attention on the real Delta.

"The beast can use magic! Quick, someone get a mage; we'll distract it."

But before the soldier could, Delta used his telekineses to pull the man towards him before impaling him with his drill. As the man got impaled, his screams caused a few of them to drop their weapons and run. Seeing as he was already wasting time killing them like this. Delta chucked the man of his drill before he took out his rivet gun and finished the few still standing. He then continued to run towards the inn.

(Illia)

Illia observed how her soldier took care of the monster's filth. It was a good thing she ordered her men to follow those tracks. Thinking there was another monster village so close to their holy land filled her with disgust. But no matter, she'll also purge this village in the name of the Chief God. And if the hero killer and the two children who escaped were here. Then that'll be a bonus.

As she continued to walk inside the village and observe the chaos, she noticed something. A familiar footprint from where those heroes were killed.

"The hero killer is here! Find them and make sure they pay for their sins! We'll show them what happens when they oppose the Order!" The soldiers cheered and continued to ransack the building and drag monster couples out before killing them. But one that caught her eyes was when her soldiers were coming out of a building dragging a couple. She saw the monster was a kikimora, one of the less harmless types of mamono, but a mamono nonetheless.

She also saw three children get dragged out as well. Two were mamono; one was a kikimora, and the other was a werecat, but the other child was an ordinary boy. Either way, she knew those two were the children who escaped the last village purge. But what caught her eye was the werecat. She knew this was the same mamono that escaped her, but there was a noticable difference. She didn't sense any mamono mana in her anymore. In fact, she doesn't sense anything at all. It's like she doesn't even exist. She was an anomaly. But they'll definitely have some use for the researchers back at Lescatie.

"Keep that one alive." as she pointed towards the werecat. "I sense it'll be useful to our researchers back home." Immediately, a knight grabbed the werecat's arm, causing her to scream.

"Let go! Let go!" cried the struggling werecat child.

"Shut it, monster filth!" shouted the Order knight, backhanding the werecat onto the floor.

"Leave her alone!" said the human boy as he struggled under the grip of another soldier. But the knight had enough of the boys squirming and struck the pommel of his sword on the back of the boy's head. Instantly, the boy went limp, and werecat cried out to Pete's limp form. But she was also knocked out as the Valkyrie hit the back of her head.

"Kill the rest, and let's finish cleansing this village." As soon as she ordered that, the mamono couple instantly began to plea to her to spare them and their child. But she didn't listen. But before they were about to be executed. One of her men came around the corner, screaming in agony as they were covered in flames.

But before her own men could approach the soldier and put him out, a harpoon struck his head, and he was pinned onto a nearby house. Everyone stood still in shock at the gruesome death of their colleague. Soon, they heard heavy footsteps getting closer. It wasn't long until the being responsible for the heavy footsteps showed themselves.

At first glance, Illia thought this tall humanoid may have been a golem. But upon closer look, it was, in fact, some sort of armor. They were tall, very tall. It wore a giant lock in front of its body, two large tubes sticking out of its strange helmet, and small bigs of metal covering it. Some on the feet, fingertips, kneecaps, and arms. But what caught her eye was what was on the thing's right arm. The giant drill hung lazily on its side. It was covered in what looked to be a thin layer of ice, but it also had many splotches of frozen blood on it.

The being continued to walk over to the burning corpse of their comrade before grabbing the end of the harpoon. With what looked to be little force, the thing yanked the harpoon out of the wall and dead soldier's head. As the burning body fell onto the floor, the thing finally faced them, which caused it to freeze.

Illia stood there, a small amount of fear creeping up in her as she stared at the beast's glowing yellow 'face.' But she quickly pushed it down and took out her sword before pointing it at the thing.

"Identify yourself, beast! Do you know who you are standing in front of? I am a warrior of the Chief god! Sent from the heavens to guide humanity to a better world. If you wish for your soul to be granted mercy, then lay your life down here and now." As she preached, Illia couldn't help but notice something. The being in front of her had no mana nor any mamono mana. Like the werecat, this thing felt like it didn't exist or was dead. In fact, she was starting to feel like this thing may have been a monster from the old world.

The thing continued to stare at them before they saw it turn to face the couple and the monster child on the floor. Before it turned its view toward the unconscious boy. It then turned its view towards the werecat, unmoving and in front of the Valkyrie's feet. It then quickly took out what looked to be a camera, and she heard a click. Then, it took out its drill again.

Instantly, the thing's left hand was covered in insects before it let out a hellish scream. The glass on the helmet turned from yellow to blood red as it rushed her and her men.

(Delta)

(Music recommendation Combat Music 4 - Bioshock 2)

Seeing the down forms of Ellie and Pete, Delta instantly saw red. As he charged, he released a swarm of hornets at the knights. Instantly, they began to yell in pain as the hornets swarmed the knights. Taking out his launcher, he quickly dispatched them as they were blown to bits. But the remaining hornets took this chance to get more prey and went on to other knights.

"Arg, don't just stand there, kill it!" ordered the winged woman. "Archers, get ready to aim."

Rows of knights began to charge Delta, but he remained unfazed by the difference in numbers. In fact, Delta noticed that these knights weren't as tough as the splicers from Rapture. Due to them being heavily deformed on Adam, the splicers have gotten some durability from it. But these knights were just ordinary people in armor. Armor that was very vulnerable to his electro-bolt plasmid.

Charging up his electro-bolt plasmid, Delta released a storm of electricity at the knights, who began to scream in pain. As lethal amounts of electricity entered their body, smoke began to emit from their person. And those close enough can smell the scent of burning flesh. Soon, their nerves and brains got fried, and they all fell dead onto the floor. Smoke coming from their fried corpses.

"Shit! It can use magic; mages, get ready, archers, fire your arrows!" Quickly, the archer released their arrow and headed towards Delta. But he surprised them with another one of his plasmids. Catching the arrows in the air with his telekineses plasmid, Delta aims it back at them before firing at them with greater speed.

The winged woman raised their shield to block the arrows. But some others weren't lucky as he heard a few screams. Lowering her shield, she saw the damage that Delta had done. Already half of her men were dead, and Delta still stood tall, unharmed.

Delta didn't immediately use a plasmid on her since he didn't want Ellie to be caught in the blast. So, seeing as he had an opening now, he switched to his hypnotized plasmid. Feeling the familiar polyp in his hand, Delta squeezed it, feeling fully charged, and he threw it at the winged woman.

The winged woman noticed the polyp flying towards her and reacted by cutting it in half. Which ended up being her mistake as the contents of the polyp spilled all over her face. She closed her eyes to avoid it getting into her eyes but stood there for a good while. There was a small silence as the few who watched her get hit stared. Soon, the Valkyrie opened her eyes, and she uttered a war cry as she began to attack her allies.

As she did, Delta rushed towards Ellie's side, quickly freezing and shattering any knights that tried to get in his way. As Delta knelt by Ellie's side, he picked her up and checked her pulse. Sighing in relief, he touched her head with his before carrying her and going over to Pete's side. Doing the same and finding out he was fine, Delta finally set the inn owners and their daughter free.

"I don't know what magic you used, but I don't care. Thank you for saving me and my family." Said the husband, "We can take the children somewhere safe as you deal with the other Order knights. Again, I can never thank you enough." Delta nodded as he handed Ellie and Pete to him and his wife. Soon, the five of them ran off. Delta stood up and faced the little remaining knights who were left.

Raising his rivet gun, Delta was gonna make sure he finished this quickly, now that there was no risk with him going all out.

(Illia)

Illia didn't know what was happening. At one moment, she was staring at the beast and was getting ready to charge them. The next thing she knew, she now stood over a dead Order knight with her sword impaled into them. Illia stood there in shock for who knows how long. But before she knew it, a piercing pain came from her stomach. Looking down, she saw the end of a giant drill pierced through her stomach. She shakily hovered her hands over the drill. But the drill began to let out a roar as it spun. She let out a scream of pain as the drill tore her insides. Then the drill was painfully pulled out. Tears stained her eyes as she shakily and painfully turned around. She then saw the beast raising its drill high before it connected to her face, and everything went dark.

(Delta)

Delta stood over the dead winged woman as well as many dead knights. A few were still alive, as they had surrendered, so Delta spared them, not before knocking them unconscious. But still, today was a horrible day. Turning around, Delta began to walk back towards where the five ran off, too. As he walked past some ruined homes, he checked some fallen debris in case there were any trapped survivors. He did find a few, which he could free quickly with his telekineses.

He found a few living knights he didn't dispatch as he continued walking. They were still on the floor, groaning in pain as sure rivets were still lodged into their flesh. And a few had burn marks from when the rivet set them on fire. He could've dispatched them there, but the citizens said they would take care of them as they had a prison they could send them to. Finding no reason to argue, he continued to walk with them.

They continued to walk outside the village until Delta was brought to a cave by the survivors. He saw many villagers and a familiar witch child caring for the wounded. However, one pair he was looking for was the children in his care. Upon seeing Cass and her husband, he hastily moves towards them.

"Oh! Mr. Drill, you're back!" Cass said, happy to see their savior alive. Delta stood in front of them, and with his hand movements and some grunts, he tried to find out where the two children were. "If you're looking for the children, they are with the witch being cared for any injuries. I can come with you if you need me to ask." Delta nodded at her, and Cass, after giving a quick kiss to her husband and child, left with Delta to the witch.

Upon approaching the witch, they were about to ask her, but the witch child spoke first.

"There you are! I have some important question for you!" said the witch sternly. Her voice caught some eyes, but she ignored them. "Looking for a werecat?"

"Yes, he's looking for Ellie and Pete." Explained Cass to the witch.

"Well, the boy is fine. Not sure about the werecat, though." She quickly raised her hand to prevent Delta from panicking and continued, "I don't know, but the werecat seems to have the same affliction as you. I sense no mana in her." At that, Delta heard Cass gasp, but he was confused. *Sigh* "Follow me. I should at least let you see them."

"Then I'll head back. Goodbye, Mr. Drill, and again, thank you for saving us."

Delta followed the witch through the many injured villagers. Some that Delta recognizes he saved. Soon, they arrived at the makeshift stretcher where Ellie and Pete had been laid. They were still unconscious, but Pete looked ready to wake up soon. But Ellie had bloody wraps around her head.

"Just like you, I couldn't heal her because she lacked mana. I have a few hypotheses as to why that may be the case. But I can't test them right now. But just know she's stable, at least." Delta sighed as He knelt beside the middle of each stretcher. He then began to soothe them with his hand as he softly rubbed their heads, especially with Ellie, as he didn't want to undo the bandaging.

"So, what did you do that caused the kid to have no mana?" Delta only turned to stare at her, still confused at what this mana was. Seeing Delta's confused look, the witch asked, "You don't know what mana is?" Shaking his head, the witch explained, "While I may have considered you an idiot, but with you having no mana, I'm not surprised you don't know what it is. Mana is basically a life force that every living being has. And they need it to survive; if they don't, they'll die. But the werecat and you don't have any mana, yet you two are still alive. So I'll ask again if you did anything to the werecat?"

All he did was use the cure tonic, Ellie. Perhaps that was what happened. Delta nodded to the witch, and she stared at him for a bit.

"Hm, alright, I'll see what you did later, but for now, rest. You deserve it after that massacre. I heard you commit it out there." The witch left Delta with the two sleeping children. Delta sat down on the floor, and soon, he fell asleep, too.

[Order mage]

Take less damage from magic

[Order knight]

Deal more damage to Order knights

[Valkyrie]

Deal more damage to angelic entities.

Well, that's that. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I'm not too proud about the battle since it seemed underwhelming, but I did say this is practice. Plus, even then, I couldn't write about many struggles for Delta as he faced medieval knights whose only protection was metal armor. Which won't survive getting shot by shotgun pellets, machine gun bullets, or Deltas plasmids. Plus, I also didn't want to underpower Delta.

Now for reviews

Guest 5-11: Yes, it definitely was a slaughter.

headreviewer mk2: It definitely needs more love. So I'll try my best to do it as much justice as possible.

Puko6lud: Well, Delta couldn't really ask them that if he tried. Only do charades, which I doubt they would've been able to understand. As for the Order rants, Delta would be reminded of the preaching of the Rapture family. Which he will no doubt hate. And yeah, they will mistake Delta as an old-school monster.

David arturo farfan soto 1998: Delta won't have infinite ammo, but he will be able to find ways to restore his pile soon. Also, thanks for the tonic recommendations. I did get a few of them.

Nomoreheros 123: I'm glad you liked it; I'll try to get to the mamono idiots soon as well. And yes, he did gain Adam from "saving" Ellie as if she were a little sister. But as this chapter showed, it removed a trace of mamono mana in her. Also, Adam consumes mana and produces even more mana. So if a little sister appeared in this world, they'd produce a lot of Adam from mamono corpses. And what do you mean by who Delta saved?

Don Orbit: Hey, man, I appreciated the long review you left. I enjoyed reading it. And yes, the Order are correct about the mamono. But I like to remain optimistic and add a way of turning the tables, like Delta curing Ellie of mamono mana. As for the healing magic, I was trying to make him a foreign entity that their magic cannot cure because he's just too different. Physically the same, but raised in a different world with different rules.

Giant-Disappointment: Well then, I hope you enjoyed this chapter as well.

HeitFait: Delta will hate the sabbaths with all his being. He'll make sure to purge them from this world.

Guest 5-22: Hey, glad you enjoyed it. :)

Either way, that's everything I hope you all enjoyed. PEACE!
