Episode 7- Depth Charge
"So what sitrep, Cap?" Radiance asked as the Avengejet was airborne.
"We got conformination. The city's been evacuated." Cap asked.
"Typical monster attack protocol," Iron Man said
The jet fired a laser at the monster causing a ruckus.
"What's it say about being an Avenger when the word typical can be used to describe a rampaging monster?" Hawkeye asked.
"Less talking, more smashing!" Hulk roared.
"Are you okay?" Saddle Rager asked, concerned.
"Don't sweat it Sadds. He's grumpy cause he missed breakfast."
"Didn't miss it! Fridge was empty! Let me at him! If I can't eat I gotta smash!"
"Let him out before breaks the door. Again." Cap said.
"Again?"
Hulk kicked the door and jumped out.
"Too late for that," Fill-Second said.
"Smash!" Hulk attacks the monster.
"Don't you love it when the Hulk goes all rage monster?" Iron Man asked.
"Like we need another to deal with," Matterhorn rolled her eyes.
"Heh. Hopefully his rage will serve us well in battle this time," Thor said.
"Famous last words."
Hulk punched the monster hard with a punch that sent the monster to the ground then it had a scared look on its face that made him stop.
Then the Avengjet arrived and charged its weapons.
"Back off!" Hulk shouted.
"Stay on the big monster!"
"Incoming!" Fill-Second said as Hulk crashed the jet.
"Still a fan of his rage, Thor?" Iron Man asked as he fired his Unibeam at the Monster making wince in pain.
Then Thor swung Mijonjor and sent it out of here.
"You better have a good reason why you did that!" Hawkeye exclaimed.
"I know monsters. I know when they want to make trouble. And this one was running scared."
"He's right. When I look at that monster's head. He was afraid of something," Saddle Rager added.
"Therefore I asked, 'What could scare a giant monster?" Marevelous asked.
"How about a big tidal wave?" Fill-Second said as looked to see it.
"I had to ask."
"Had to break the apples here, not only we had a tidal wave, we got surfers," Iron Man saw a merman on the water. "Scanning the leader. Yow! An Atlantean! He's not going down easy. Heavy on muscle."
"When you say Atlantean, you mean the lost underwater nation of Atlantis, Atlantean?" Falcon asked.
"Yeah, that's the one."
"Do I have the words? Avengers Assemble. Matterhorn you're with me!"
Both Iron Man and Matterhorn confronted the Atlanteans.
"Alright, buddy. What's your beef?"
"You will address me as Attuma. I've spent years amassing my Atlantean army. Now you surface dwellers will experience a true conquer's ambition."
"So you came to the Big Apple to make a name for yourself. Good for you."
"I've studied your kind. This city is the first step. Soon. all of the surface world will fall to me."
"Tough talk. But no one floods my city. And gets away with it."
Iron Man and Matterhorn took shots at Attuma who blocked them with his sword.
"Cannonball!" Hulk dived and drove a group of Atlanteans back.
"Now is not the time to be reckless, Hulk. We need strategy. Not mindless chaos."
Thor and Zapp created a gust of wind drive of the Atlanteans. Just as Falcon picked up an Atlantean drop into a water tower.
On the ground, Hawkeye and Cap, were on sky cycles and found some Atlanteans.
"Of course, they're running away! But didn't the boss just say they came looking for a fight?" Hawkeye asked as he fired a net arrow but it missed.
"Something's not adding up here," Cap said.
"Head's up, they're going underground!"
"Iron Man! Matterhorn! We've Atlanteans in the subway!"
"We both hear you! Loud and Clear!" Matterhorn said as she fired a magic at Attuma who blocked it with his sword. "Hold on, the subway?"
Then Attuma turned to Iron Man and struck with his sword.
"You have no idea how vulnerable your beloved city truly is." He said then kick to the ground and dive into the water.
"Jarvis, deploy Rubber Ducky."
"Rubber Ducky? Seriously?" Matterhorn cocked an eyebrow.
"When you create an underwater suit of armor, you get to call it whatever you want."
The Rubber Ducky came and Tony dropped his original armor for the other one then followed Attuma underwater.
"You're running away? You're gonna be so embarrassed when I post this online!"
"Keep laughing, fool!" Attuma snarled as some Atlanteans swarmed Iron Man.
"Avengers, these tunnels are crawling with Atlanteans. I need everyone down here, except for Thor and Zapp. You two are our wild cards. Keep as many Atlanteans topside as you can. They obviously want to be underground."
"On it!" Zapp unleashed a thunderbolt that shocked most of the Atlanteans with Thor knocking them back.
"How come Thor and Zapp get to have all the fun?" Hulk asked.
"Because both Thor, and to some extent Zapp know strategy. You do what works for you," Matterhorn answered.
"So, Hulk smashed again."
With Falcon…
"Time to put my tech to use, I don't have a Rubber Ducky to tell me they're deploying in a unique pattern.
Fill-Second and Marevelous are found as the Atlanteans placed on the subway before they fled.
"Cupcakes, they bolted."
"Not before the seafolk, left something." both of them examine it.
"What in the name of Celestia is it?" Fill-Second asked.
"No idea." Marevelous told them to scan it with her card. "Iron Man, Falcon, Matterhorn, are you getting any of this. What are we looking at?"
"I'll take a look," Matterhorn said as she blasted some Atlanteans back. "Okay… That's not good. Guys, you need to get out of there. There's like hundreds of those things and powering up."
"Heard," Fill-Second then grab Marevelous and head topside. "The whole place is coming down. Why do I have a strange feeling that minions were only distracting us."
"Cause they probably were."
"Bring it on, fishheads!" Zapp said as she bucked two of them then looked from her right as Attuma came topside.
"Ah! Victory is ours!"
"This is a new one guys. Those Atlanteans devices have destabilized the bedrock beneath Manhattan. The whole island is going to slide into the ocean."
Everyone regrouped to where Thor and Zapp were.
"Okay, can some explain what the big fish just did?" Marevelous asked.
"Attuma separated the top layer of bedrock, he knew where the stress points were. The devices of his were placed perfectly. Not bad for an snarling, sea-barbarin," Matterhorn said.
"Try and stay dry while Falcon and I get a look of what we're dealing with."
Both Iron Man and Falcon went and could not believe what they were seeing as giant wave approaches.
"I hate to say this to you guys and girls but this is worse than we thought."
"How worse?" Saddle Rager gulped as the team was confronted by Attuma and his army.
"Bring Em on!" Hulk exclaimed.
"We shall drive these Atlanteans back to the depths of the ocean.."
"Thor, we need you and Matterhorn, up here."
"Don't worry we leave some jerks. Probably," Zapp said as the rest moved as Matterhorn and Thor met with Iron Man and Falcon.
"You guys see what we're dealing with? Can you buy some time?"
"With pleasure," Thor was able to use a massive lightning storm to stop the wave.
"Whoa! How long can he keep that up?" Falcon asked.
"As long as we need him to. Now set your armor to match my electromagnetic frequency. Sparkles, got any magic left in the tank?"
"Sure, why?"
"Cause we're pulling a high-tech wamma-jamma," Iron Man said. "And now!"
They fired and created a literan forcefield to stop the giant wave.
"Well done, my friends," Thor said.
"Don't congratulate us, yet. My armor's not liking this."
"Yeah, my levels are already in the red."
"Not to mention, it's only holding off the tidal wave. The island's still sliding into the sea."
With the others…
"Hawkeye, you and Saddle the south-east quadrant. Marevelous, Zapp and I got the northeast. And Hulk…'
"I want Attuma," Hulk went to him.
"Uh, should we try to…"
"Don't waste your breath. Hulk only follows his rage and sometimes his stomach," Hawkeye fired an ice arrow then a gas arrow, then looked up. "Okay, Iron Man, Matters and Falcon made some sort of energy barrier. I can see it not far from here."
"Now we can give our full attention to Attuma's army."
Hulk plowed through more Atlanteans as more continued to converge on him.
"You think you can protect your leader from me?" Hulk roared.
"Soldiers, attack the lighting pony!" Attuma ordered then confronted Hulk. "You want me, brute. Here I am."
Both Hulk and Attuma collided.
"There are endless waves of these guys. No pun intended," Fill-Second joked as she blinded a whole bunch of them.
"The shield is pummeled from our side, what's happening?" Matterhorn asked.
"It's Hulk. He's going at it with Attuma."
"Well, someone control him, this isn't going to work out if we have to keep Hulk in check."
"Zapp, help him deal with Attuma," Cap told her.
Zapp flew in and tried to ram Attuma but Hulk knocked her off.
"Buck, he's angrier than a bull seeing red," She exclaimed as Hulk suckerpunched him but Attuma shrugged it off.
"Is that it? Are you finished? Is the incredible Hulk going to surrender to the superior warrior?" He asked him.
"Maybe… you're right."
"I'm sorry, did he say…"
Attuma punched Hulk right into the barrier which cracked and let the water out.
"Ha! I have defeated the strongest among you. How much of a threat do you think you pose?"
"I don't believe it. Attuma took out the Hulk."
"The entire island will slide into the sea in 3.9 minutes. How are we going to stop it?"
"Split up. We can cover more ground in smaller teams
"Something got to give. Otherwise the battle won't end."
"Were wasting these chumps, we should go for the head honcho," Fill-Second said as she, Thor, and Iron Man went for Attuma.
"The pink one speaks the truth."
"Let's see you can do better than your snarling green pet," Attuma grinned.
"How this?"
Iron Man fired his rockets at him then repulsor blasts.
"Incoming!" Fill-Second became a rolling ball but Attuma knocked her down then he laughed.
"Stripes. It's about to say goodbye to New York, and hello to New Atlantis."
"Don't count it, Hawk. I think we've still got an ace in the hole."
"Victory is mine! The world will now recognize me as it's new ruler!"
"You sure about that, pal? Seems your water levels are dropping," Marevlous said as the water disappear.
"But how? My army, we must find the source of this reversal," he said as they went underwater. "Back to your underwater posts."
"Guys, do what you can to keep Attuma busy, I'll go see what's going on down there." Iron Man flew off.
He flew into the ocean and once he was under he saw Hulk holding the city.
"And I thought I saw everything. Looks like New York's got a giant, green guardian-angel. Okay big guy, I'm impressed but I'm also here to help."
Hulk glared at him.
"All right. No, no, You got this. Just hang in there for a little while longer."
Iron Man came back as the team was fighting Attuma.
"The Hulk's bought us some time. He is actually holding up the entire island, keeping it from sliding into the ocean!"
"You're kidding, right? That's impossible!" As Hawkweye froze him with an ice arrow.
"No, just incredible."
Attuma broke out then Thor threw his hammer at his face then Zapp bolt blasted him.
"Did you hear that, villain? Where is your victory now?" Thor asked as Attuma did a cannonball on Matterhorn and Saddle Rager who easily avoided him by smashing the ground.
Attuma went underwater to take on Hulk but Zapp and Marevelous stop him but the villain grabbed both of them.
"Pathetic. You were a match for me on the surface world. But now you're in mine," Attima threw them off then got held by Marevelous's rope
"Sorry, we're ain't finished yet," She told him but Attuma grabbed the rope and swung her around and tossed her to the ground but that just made Hulk even mad where a chunk of bedrock hit him in the face then grabbed the mares and threw them out the sea.
"You okay, Dash," Applejack coughed some water up.
"Yeah, I'm fine, wait, where's Attuma?" Rainbow asked when both mares saw Attuma flying over their heads and crashed into the wall. "Never mind."
Much later in Avengers Tower…
"So not only was Hulk able to keep his rage, but he saved the city, he continues to amaze me," Luna said. "I had my share of seeing beasts that make small men cry but I've learn not judge so quickly."
"I'm just glad we had that on our side," Celestia said as Hulk was literally eating from the fridge.
"I'll drink that."
