Chapter 129 The Cat and the student
Its been about a month since Every prisoner in the universe was set free by Ashly and her Regime Allies. Since then security has been heavily upgraded.
Of course the Legion has searched every corner of the universe looking for them but regretfully nothing was located. Which led them to believe once more The Regime may be another universe.
Currently right now Sean was with Revy on the watch tower getting check out by Tsunade.
"Well?" Sean asked placing his hand on Revy's enlarged stomach. (Don't forget theres a pill he invented that not only speeded up the process to take only 2 months but also makes the babies very health)
"Everything checks out. Would you both like to know the genders?" Tsunade asked.
"Nope." Revy said. "I already know what I've got. Two girls." Revy said.
"And just how do you know that?" Sean asked amused making her grin.
"A mother knows." Revy said making him sigh. "By the way...My replacement is here today. Since I'm gonna be on leave for a while I figured someone should take my place." Revy said.
"Who the hell's gonna replace you?" Sean asked as Tsunade left before another woman walked in She had white skin Blonde hair and shades on covering her blue eyes.
"Yo whats up two hands?"
"Eda." Revy said rolling her eyes while Sean raised an eyebrow. (Eda from Black Lagoon)
"Uh could you give us a minute real quick?" Sean asked before she walked out and closed the door. "No." Sean said confusing her.
"Huh?" Revy asked confused.
"Honey I have broken my principles for 13 years which I'm no longer doing. But the one principle I have not broken still stands. I do not trust CIA." Sean said.
"What does her being with CIA have to...Oh...Rawlings." Revy said remembering the story.
"Yup. Find someone else." Sean said.
"Can't. Everyone I know is either dead or working with the Regime. Sorry babe she's your only option." Revy said making him growl in annoyance.
"Unbelievable. You know when they made Travis win the lottery that was they're way of an apology in hopes I wouldn't talk to anyone about their screw up. I did anyway and went over every case since then that they had. Care to guess how much corruption I found? 50 percent of the whole agency." Sean said.
"Yikes. Well, Eda is the only one I know. Besides its not permanent." Revy said.
"Ugh. Fine whatever." Sean said. (Incase you forgot buddy Domino is already in the Legion. The list is on the terminator Chapter incase you want to look again)
Later
Sean was currently looking at a Illegal shipment of weapons down by the docks.
"Wildcat, Where the fuck are you?" Sean asked on the comms.
"Sorry, kid. Ooh! I got hung up." Wildcat said clearly fighting someone.
"Damnit, Ted! This is third time this month. Where are you? Need a hand?" Sean asked.
"Nah. Just sit tight. I'll be there in ten minutes." Wildcat said.
"Oh sure I'm certain these idiots selling illegal guns and weapons will wait that long." Sean said sarcastically.
"Ok five minutes." Wildcat said before getting slugged.
"Forget it I'll handle this myself." Sean said dropping down.
Sean easily took out the black market dealers with ease before he spotted a computer with some live feed and picked it up before narrowing his eyes. On the screen was Wildcat with a woman known as Roulette.
"And the winner is WILDCAT!" Roulette said making him frown.
Later
Eda was in the shooting gallery on the watchtower.
"Nice aim." Frank Castle said.
"I've got experience." Eda said grinning.
"Frank." Sean said walking in.
"Hey kid. Need something?" Frank asked.
"Yeah I need your help regarding Wildcat." Sean said.
"Uh can't right now. Lane's ordered me on another assignment. I'll be leaving in a couple minutes." Frank said leaving.
"I'll help." Eda said grinning at him.
"No." Sean said walking away before she got in front of him.
"Oh come handsome. You said you need help and I'm offering." Eda said making him sigh.
"Fine. Just do as I say." Sean said before they left.
Soon they were on bikes heading to a stadium.
"So whats the deal with this guy anyway?" Eda asked.
"You mean you seriously don't know Wildcat? He's one of the Legion's best fighters. Right now he's doing Mete-Brawls." Sean said.
"I thought those only showed bad guys fighting each other. Why's he doing it?" Eda asked.
"He loves to fight. Way before he was Wildcat, He was the world heavyweight boxing champ." Sean said.
"Ok. But doesn't he get enough fighting in the Legion?" Eda asked.
"I think thats problem. I think maybe he's going through some mid-life crisis since the Island. I'm concerned somethings gonna happen to him." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Roulette was going over the finances from last night when someone knocked on her door.
"Yes?" Roulette asked before seeing Wildcat. "Something you need?"
"Yeah...Listen I want out...I can't keep doing this. I'm missing my assignments and letting my friends down." Wildcat said.
"Oh? If you want out you don't have to tell me. It's your choice." Roulette said surprising him how casual she was about it.
"Just like that?" Wildcat asked making her smirk.
"Don't act so surprised. I understand Sean needs you for more important things. And he and I have some history...How do you think he found Luke Cage, Iron fist and Daredevil? He came here and asked for them to work for him. And he was more than willing to pay for my former star attractions...Plus a date." Roulette said making him snort in amusement.
"Why am I not surprised?" Wildcat said leaving.
"Hmph. And boy did that date really pay off." Roulette said grinning from the memory. However as she looked at the security camera she frowned when she saw her biggest annoyance as a business partner...Moneybags. (From Spyro the Dragon video game series. Just incase anyone forgot he was in the story)
"Oh no." Roulette said walking outside before she saw Moneybags talking to Wildcat who looked conflicted before walking away. "What did you just do?" Roulette asked annoyed.
"I made sure my star attraction stayed." Moneybags said smugly.
"Your attraction? I own this place." Roulette said making him smirk.
"Correction you own half. I own the other half which makes us partners. And I have no intentions of letting MY star attraction go back to those good for nothing heroes." Moneybags said walking away making her growl.
"I hate that bear." Roulette said.
Meanwhile
Sean and Eda parked outside the building.
"Uh don't we need passes or something?" Eda asked.
"No. I own this building. Roulette just runs it. While she does make money off this thing it also serves a purpose to the Legion. It keeps an eye on troubling individuals like the ones Wildcat is fighting right now or those placing bets." Sean said.
"Oh...I also assume she's in your harem?" Eda asked grinning.
"Whats it to you?" Sean asked before she got in front of him.
"Any room for me?" Eda asked.
"No." Sean said walking past her making her blink.
"You're not pissed because I'm taking two hands place are you?" Eda asked making him stop and face her.
"Ok lets get something straight. First of all you can never replace her I don't care what anyone says. Second of all my issue with you isn't about taking her place for the moment. My issue with you is your CIA." Sean said.
"Huh? What the fuck does have to do with anything?" Eda asked.
"Wow you seriously don't know do you? Rawlings. Ring a bell? He tried to kill me 13 years ago in 2011. Tried to kill me my family, my brother and my sisters who were only three at the time. Fucking Bastard even admitted TO MY FUCKING FACE! That he was gonna give my sisters to some sick fuck as play things. I tore him to pieces. And he blackmailed one of my best friends Russo to betray us. Since that day I lived with the principle that the CIA can never be trusted. Doesn't matter regarding Gender, Religion, Race, Skill, Age. Doesn't fucking matter. I will never trust the CIA ever again." Sean said walking away.
"Thats kinda harsh. You're judging me without even knowing me." Eda said.
"I don't care. And if you try pulling some bullshit about me breaking my principles and beliefs again I will kick your ass out of the Legion." Sean said walking inside.
"Ouch." Eda said before following him.
Roulette sighed going over her paperwork for the next batch of fights tonight.
"Someone looks like she needs a vacation." Sean said leaning against the door frame.
"Sean, What a pleasant surprise." Roulette said walking to him before kissing him making Eda grumble.
"As much as I missed you I'm not here for a social visit." Sean said.
"Let me guess. Wildcat?" Roulette asked.
"Yup." Sean said.
"Well, I did tell him he didn't have to stay. Of course my newest partner had other plans." Roulette said.
"New Partner?" Eda asked.
"I'm afraid to ask but who is it?" Sean asked.
"Moneybags."
"WHAT! Are you out of your mind! Do you have any idea how many times my sisters complained about that prick?" Sean asked.
"Hey I didn't know. He offered a lot of money to help expand this place and he did. Of course then he started changing a lot of things around here. Mostly regarding certain people the Legion are after. So now I can't do anything to get him to back down." Roulette said.
"Wheres Wildcat?" Sean asked.
Wildcat was in the locker room getting ready when the door opened up.
"Yeah?" Wildcat asked before seeing Sean, Eda and Roulette. "Ah shit." Wildcat said pulling his mask off.
"You need some help Ted." Sean said.
"Does it look like I've got a problem?" Wildcat asked.
"You do if you don't see what you've become like I did on the island. You're entertainment for these people." Sean said.
"Fighting is what I do, Alright? It's all I was ever good at and I'm still good at it." Wildcat said.
"Thats not the point." Sean said.
"Anyway, I can leave anytime I want. I don't need help." Wildcat said.
"How bout now?" Sean asked.
"Uh uh. I'm fighting Atomic skull tonight and you know he deserves a beating." Wildcat said.
"Damnit, Ted." Sean said before he punched a locker.
"Hey, I was the greatest, alright? I fought them all and beat them all. And now look at me. Most of the time your little military council keep me up in that stupid spaceship baby-sitting. Hell I'm sure when that kid wakes up they'll have me train him." Wildcat said.
"Oh thats what this is about? You not liking not having powers so you take pride beating those that do?" Sean asked before he turned away before Sean placed a hand on his shoulder. "Am I getting too close now?" Sean asked before getting pushed away before Eda stepped in.
"Hey, Chill out!" Eda yelled.
"You stay out of this." Sean said.
"Thats it i'm out." Eda said leaving before Sean followed her.
"Hey!" Sean yelled following her.
"Why are you even bothering with this guy? He doesn't want to leave. Let him get what he deserves." Eda said before he looked away. "Wait a minute...This is personal for you isn't it?" Eda said.
"Yeah...After Global tech was finished I went to him for help. I wanted to learn how to fight to defend not only myself but my sisters and those I cared about. He also helped me control my anger since well...I still hadn't gotten over what happened because of Rawlings." Sean said. "I owe him for everything...Now training isn't enough anymore." Sean said.
"So you want to get him out of this quietly before the Military council catch wind of this so he doesn't get thrown out." Eda said.
"Or before he does something he'll regret." Sean said.
"All right...But I know that look in his eye he's not going to go quietly." Eda said.
"Then on to Plan B." Sean said.
Meanwhile
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to Meta-Brawl! Place your bets and take your seats. Get ready for the historic match-up The clash of Titans. Atomic Skull vs WildCat!" Moneybags said.
Soon enough the two started fighting with Wildcat having an advantage before suddenly a metal cuff locked him down on one of the metal bars.
"Huh?" Wildcat said before spotting Sean and Eda above them.
"Show's over assholes." Sean said before dropping down with Eda as she took out the security. "Remember no dropping bodies here." Sean said.
"Oh fine." Eda said shooting them in the knees.
Suddenly the other Villains rushed at them before Wildcat got out of his cuff.
Sean stomped his foot down making the ground shake before they fell over.
"Your old principles don't including not killing the bad guys right?" Eda asked.
"No I'm more than willing if I have to." Sean said as they got back up but.
"Hold it!" Wildcat said stopping them. "Just what do you think you're doing?" Wildcat asked.
"If I have to take this place down to get you out I will. And you know it. Your choice." Sean said before he let the Villains move forward. "Ok not what I was expecting." Sean said.
"I'd start dropping bodies if I were you." Eda said.
"I have a better idea." Sean said looking at Moneybags in the booth. "How would you like to see teacher and student go head to head with each other? Me and the old man." Sean said.
"What?" Wildcat asked surprised.
"Oh, Definitely." Moneybags said grinning.
"Then heres the deal. If I win, you ban Wildcat from cage fighting forever. If I lose I won't bother you again." Sean said.
"Oh no absolutely not." Wildcat said.
"Sorry but you don't have a choice. This is much too good an opportunity." Moneybags said making Roulette frown.
Minutes later
Wildcat roared as he punched his punching bag into a mirror.
"I'm not doing it. I only fight guys who have it coming. That's all I've ever done." Wildcat said to Moneybags.
"Well, then perhaps he's one of them." Moneybags said. He was looking forward to seeing the girls big brother getting beat up as payback for all the trouble they caused him both her and back home. "Besides the truth is you love the fight." Moneybags said.
"Well, I'm not going to love beating up one of my own students, that ain't right." Wildcat said.
"If you trained him, he can take care of himself. He knew what he was getting into. And if you don't do this I'll never let you fight in that cage again. And I expect you to win no matter what. Don't take a fall. Don't even go easy on him. You're still my star attraction and I need you undefeated. Ruin that and I'll put you out to pasture as quickly as the Legion. Are we clear?" Moneynags said making him growl before smashing the wall next to him.
"Uh what are you doing?" Eda asked as Sean injected himself with something.
"Making it fair. Temporarily blocks all my powers for an hour. My super strength and other abilities are based on instincts so I need to make this fair. I use any of my powers and he's going to come right back here." Sean said.
"You cannot be serious. If he taught you everything you know he's gonna have a huge edge." Eda said.
"I have my own skills on my side." Sean said.
"Oh sure like hating someone just because she works for a group he doesn't like." Eda said.
"You would hate the CIA if your life was ruined by them for selfish reasons." Sean said.
"Oh please. Everyone has someone to blame for something." Eda said making him frown before approaching her about to say something but before he could say anything she sprayed him with some knock out gas making him fall back onto the mat before Moneybags walked in and frowned. "Oh don't worry...You'll still get your fight." Eda said.
Soon enough the crowd was gathered.
"Ladies and Gentlemen Prepare yourselves for the world's cage fight between two heroes right here at Meta Brawl." Moneybags said getting the crowd to cheer. "However, theres been a change in the program. Instead of fighting Kruger Wildcat will be fighting Eda. Two hands replacement." Moneybags said as Eda walked in.
"What? Theres now way. I'm not fighting her. Kruger could have held his own, but not her." Wildcat said.
"You'll fight who I tell you to fight. End of story." Moneybags said before walking out.
"What's the matter, Cat? Afraid?" Eda asked.
"She's not a fighter." Wildcat said to Moneybags who walked away.
"I know what it is. Scared of getting your ass handed to you by a CIA agent?" Eda asked making him narrow his eyes before punching her in the face.
"Wake the hell up!" Venom yelled making Sean get up.
"What the...THAT IDIOT!" Sean yelled rushing off.
Wildcat was beating the living crap out of Eda before Sean rushed to the cage.
"Eda!" Sean yelled trying to get in but the guards held him back. "What are you doing?"
"Teaching the teacher a lesson." Eda said trying to punch him but got punched back before Wildcat slammed her down.
"Knock it off!" Sean yelled.
"She asked for it!" Wildcat yelled before resuming barrage of hits.
"I don't have any powers and your still too old to knock me out...Like a little bitch." Eda said making him roar before delivering a hard uppercut that sent her into the air before landing on her front unmoving.
"Had enough, Smartass? Huh?" Wildcat asked but got no response. "Get up. I'm not done." Wildcat said turning her on her back but still got no response making him widen his eyes before checking for a pulse but found none before lifting her arm seeing it was limp before dropping it making him widen his eyes in shock before the crowd cheered louder. (Honestly that made me sick when that happened)
Sean growled before beating the guards that held him and barged in looking at Eda then Wildcat before slugging him and grabbed him.
"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND! What have you done?" Sean said.
"I'll tell you what he's done he's taken the fights to a whole new level. Think of the word that'll spread from this. Anythings possible. Next time we'll clear millions no billions!" Moneybags said excited.
"No...No, I'm out." Wildcat said walking away. "And this time I mean it." Wildcat said.
Soon enough the people had left while Sean stayed looking over Eda's corpse.
"That was the most incredibly stupid thing you did and yet at the same time...Amazing that you got through to him. I'm sorry." Sean said.
"I'm not." Eda said making him widen his eyes before she held out a syringe. "Puts you into a metabolic stasis for a few minutes." Eda said.
"You wanted him to see what is would feel like to kill someone." Sean said.
"Think it worked?" Eda asked before he stood over them.
"It worked." Wildcat said.
"Up we go." Sean said lifting her up bridal style.
"This is nice. So when's the date?" Eda asked.
"Eda...Don't push it." Sean said making her grin before they walked out but.
"Who do you think you're kidding? You won't be happy stuck on that ship. I give a month and you'll be back crying for another chance. I know your kind and you will fight again. Roulette come." Moneybags said as if he owned her.
"Sorry but no." Roulette said holding a large case full of money.
"What are you doing?" Moneybags asked concerned.
"Leaving of course. I've had enough of this place. And since I'm in charge of the finances its all mine which leaves you broke." Roulette said making him gasp in shock before composing himself.
"No matter. I'll just sell tickets at twice the price and I'll be fine till it picks up again. I still own this place." Moneybags said holding his bag of gems before a laser hit it reducing it to dust. "NOOOOO!" Moneybags yelled in horror.
"I don't think so." Sean said before spitting fireballs at the stadium setting the place on fire.
"NO! NOOO! NOOOO! NOOOOOOO!" Moneybags yelled in horror before bolting as Sean and his group vanished.
Later on the watch tower
"I'm sorry for what I put you through. But don't worry, seeing a dead body from my hands it knocked me back to my senses. I'll never understand how you can live with it." Wildcat said as they walked to a door.
"I'm from a long line of American Patriots so killing is in the blood. And I believe you, but I'd like some assurance it's gonna stick." Sean said opening the door and inside was J'onn.
"Huh?" Wildcat said.
"Things like this sometimes you can't stop all by yourself. Believe me I know." Sean said making him sigh.
"Believe me. Fighting is nowhere near as tough as this is gonna be." Wildcat said walking in.
"So hows the old man?" Eda asked with a cast on her arm with crutches.
"He'll live. How about you?" Sean asked.
"I've had way worse back in Roanapur." Eda said.
"I'd hardly brag about that city since it was torn down." Sean said. The whole city was burned to the ground before it was under construction for a new and better city.
"Care to join me for a beer?" Eda asked making him smirk.
"Sure." Sean said.
"Good. Your buying." Eda said walking away making him smirk.
"Starting to trust her now?" Revy asked leaning against the wall with a grin.
"It's...getting there. How about you? How you holding up?" Sean asked.
"Fine actually." Revy said before they walked away.
"Your not planning on drinking while your pregnant are you?" Sean asked.
"Please. I told you I don't want the twins to end up like us." Revy said.
"Good." Sean said.
Later
"You aren't seriously going to trust a CIA agent are you?" Garrett asked seeing Eda and Revy talking to each other at another table.
"She's...Slowly earning my trust. Don't get me wrong. I still hate the CIA and everyone in it...But she has proven capable and useful." Sean said.
"I guess...By the way...What the hell happened to Travis? I keep hearing he got out of prison then that Arkham Asylum before it was torn down last year. What happened to him?" Garrett asked.
"He's dead. The circumstances revolving around that event are...Complicated and a little hard to bring up for some of us. Lets just say he did something over the line and had to be put down." Sean said.
"Oh yeah? About damn time." Garrett said before some man with white skin black hair and blue eyes sat down next to them.
"Uh something I can help you with?" Sean asked.
"Now is that anyway to talk to your rejuvenated grandfather?"
Sean widened his eyes before looking closer at the young man.
"Hammond?" Sean asked in shock seeing his grandfather on his mother's side of the family looking to be in his early to mid 20's.
"The one and only." Hammond said laughing.
"What the hell?" Garrett asked in shock.
"Wow. Savage's blood really helped you out big time." Sean said.
"Oh and I'm not the only one." Hammond said pointing to the left making them turn and saw Peggy who looked like herself during the war with Steve who was shocked.
"Holy shit." Garrett said.
"Must be nice to feel so young again." Sean said.
"Oh it certainly does. And I am going to do something I always wanted to do." Hammond said.
"And that would be?" Sean asked making him grin.
Later
"Ok so our fountain of Youth drug if we're actually going to call it that works perfectly." Talbot said putting a tablet down.
"Oh yeah I've noticed." Tom said seeing monitors of his parents back in their prime walking down the hallways. Hell even Broom looked like his younger self when he first found Hellboy.
"But now we don't have Savage anymore. Which means we can't make anymore of the serum." Lane said.
"We'll get him back eventually. Right now lets focus on the current problem. Cadmus. I think it's time we ask Waller whats going on." Sean said.
"Why ask? Clearly her objective is clear. She wants to remove us." Ross said.
"See I don't think thats true. I think something else is going on. We need more information." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Moneybags sobbed seeing his establishment burnt to ash.
"Oh Moneybags."
"Oh no." Moneybags said in horror before slowly turning around seeing Dawn who cracked her knuckles while Sarah and Newt pulled out some chairs and sat down.
"This is going to be fun." Sarah said before Moneybags screamed in pain as Dawn started beating the crap out of him...Again.
"TRY TO USE OUR BROTHER FOR YOUR OWN GAIN WILL YOU!" Dawn yelled annoyed.
"IT WAS JUST GOOD BUSINESS!" Moneybags cried out.
"BULLSHIT!" Dawn yelled kicking him hard.
"Wheres the popcorn?" Newt asked before Sarah pulled out a bag and handed it to her.
"This never gets old." Sarah said as Moneybags screamed in horror. (Oh if there is ever a new Spyro Game PLEASE make sure Moneybags gets punished for being such an asshole)
Meanwhile
Sean and Lane walked into the med bay seeing Tsunade checking in the Rainbow Rider.
"Anything?" Sean asked.
"Nothing. Theres no way to identify who he is. We check DNA and nothing came up." Tsuande said. (To my most Loyal Guest reviewer no he is not a future grandchild of Sean's)
"No DNA signature? Thats impossible." Sean said.
"Unless someone was trying to protect him because most likely case they knew what he was." Tsunade said leaving.
"Who would go through all that just to protect him?" Lane asked. Sean frowned before looking at the kid.
"A parent. I'm gonna expand our search and see if his DNA matches anyone else. That might give us a clear indication as to who he is." Sean said.
"Right...By the way...Regarding Kane. What are we gonna do? He is willing to make a deal." Lane said making him sigh.
"I talked with Turok about this. He's not happy but he understands the circumstances. Only way he's willing to let Kane work with us is if he's under his command. Personally I'd rather have Kane rot in his cell...But at the same time the Regime's numbers just went up by millions." Sean said.
"50 million you mean. With Every Prison hit at once and all our major players captured that day all the jails were hit. I hate to say but Ashly planed this out perfectly." Lane said.
"They still have a numbers disadvantage. We have Billions on our side Plus Thanos's help. Still like I said I would rather leave Kane to rot but we gave Malcom a chance...Although we really didn't have much choice on that since time was of the essence." Sean said.
"I'll notify his security." Lane said leaving.
"Goddamnit. Well, at least this isn't breaking a principle since he's not getting a full pardon right off the bat." Sean said annoyed before he left. If he had stayed he would have seen the Rainbow Rider's finger twitch.
Authors Note: Oh boy things are really getting intense. The Regime's numbers are increasing greatly. Course though the Legion still has a large number edges and has Thanos's help. Of course theres still the present problem CADMUS. And next Chapter we find out whats the reason for its existence and who's involved and of course the return of certain monster.
