In this chapter does have some reference from The wizarding world of Harry Potter but reminder this is a fanfiction story so of course I don't own the Cuphead show original characters and any Harry Potter reference in the original books and movies series but only my oc's in this fanfic story. At the Sparks House Iris went back and forth. She went into the living room and into the hallway several times and looked both at House Father clock and the Window with a smile of excitement on her Face. She was like a changed woman. At least for the two cups they had never experienced Iris so. Normally she was rather quiet person at times but they have never seen her this excited like a child on Christmas Eve. The Cups and Sparky sit on the couch. They know that today is a special day for Iris but they forgot why today was so special.
"Ah...Irie? Who's coming again?" Cuphead asked curiously when Iris was back in the living room and looked at the clock. The big hand was now on the three. It was 3:00 in the afternoon. Iris knew that Cuphead had addressed her and was waiting for an answer, so she looked to him. "Andrea ...and she should have been here by now" she explained and was even more nervous than before. "Andera? She's a friend of yours?" "Oh Andrea Posada is one of Iris best friends from magic school" Dora said as she was coming down the stairs with Miss Meow Meow.
Under her left arm she held a large photo album with all the photos of the Spark family inside. From Dora and her late husband Raymond, Iris' parents to Iris' youth before she started training to become a good witch. The older witch sat down on the sofa between the two mugs and opened the photo album while the two mugs looked in it. Sparky jumped down from the sofa and sat next to Iris while Miss Meow Meow lay on the chair and slept.
Dora flipped through the album. Besides her wedding photo and that of her son, there were photos of Iris' birth and the opening of Porkrind's store where Iris' family was invited. But she stopped flipping through the album when she reached the right place in the album. There were four pictures on each page. Once a picture of Iris where she was enrolled in school, then a class photo and two group photos with four people on it.
The photos didn't seem hard to tell apart since the four in the group photo appeared to be the same age. To be more precise, there were three girls and one boy in each of the group photos. All of them seemed to be about six or seven years old. They notice the little girl in the center of the group picture a girl with a waterfall braid wearing a bow in her hair and a dress with mary Jane shoes that they know right away "Iris?" the two brothers asked Dora who nodded.
"Yep that's my little Iris" she smiled when she saw the photo and exhaled in joy of the memories "Ain't she adorable?" Iris heard it and her cheeks flushed "Grandma!" she said, looking out the hallway window again. Fortunately, the two brothers who were looking in the book didn't see it and were confused as to who the other three were who were next to Iris in the photo. "Is that Andrea?" Mugman asked, pointing to the little girl who was to the right of Iris with short messy hair with small flowers in her hair, wearing a farm dress. "No that's Iris other best friend Poppy Woods".
Her finger wandered to the girl to the left of Iris "That's Andrea". The girl has short black hair that goes down to her shoulders on the sides. Her eyes were closed on the photo which is why you could not see her eyes. She wore a long sweater with a moon on it, blue skirt that had rips in some places, gray tights, red shoes with white laces. Around her neck she wore a necklace with a Aqua Opal. Around her right arm she had a bandage that went around her knuckle.
Dora flip through the pages showing many other pictures of Iris, Andrea and Poppy growing up together and attending Mystic Mist academy. One picture of the girls enjoying ice cream together, getting their wands and first day of sixth grade at the academy together. "Wow so many memories" "Yay you guys did everything together" but then Cuphead only now noticed the boy in the group. "Who's that?" he asked curiously, pointing at him.
It was a picture with the girls that looked like it was taken at the school fair but Iris link her arm's with a boy that was blushing and smiling at Iris. "Oh that's Morton. He was a friend of ours" Iris explained to the two. The boy in the photo was slim and had short red hair with a brown streak. His eyes were hazel and he wore a blue cotton shirt with a short trouser "Oh right Morton Banks, he was a new student in your class who was incredibly shy" Dora said with a smile on her face. She remembered exactly the day when Iris and her friends came to visit with Morton. "Yeah he had a hard time making friends" Iris speaks from experience. She knew Andrea before school, but she didn't meet Poppy until first grade. At that time Andrea was also not in the same school as Iris.
"Well lucky for him he had friends like you girls" Iris felt her grandmother stroking her head. She blushed a little and grinned happily as ever. Cuphead, Mugman and Sparky looked at the rest of the photos with Iris and her friends. The last photo showed the four only fourteen years old standing in front of an ice cream store not far from their school. Of course, the ice cream was enchanted and did not stay in the cone. Iris and Poppy's ice cream flew like a cloud over the cone, Morton's was on fire, and Andrea's took the form of a dragon wrapped around the cone as if it were a fortress.
The photos after that showed Iris only alone or not at all. Something was wrong - the three of them knew that. "Huh?" the two brothers said at the same time, drawing attention to themselves. "What happened to the other photos?" "Yeah what gives?" they didn't get an exact answer from Iris who sadly looked away and lowered her head. Sparky saw it and went to her to calm her down while she tried to explain it to them. "Oh well in the middle of freshman year I started learning from home due to my on and off again magic problem".
"And after we earned our diplomas, Poppy is working on her family farm, Morton went to London to study more about potions and other world magic. While Andrea went and became an apprentice for my mother to become a Magizoologist and I started my good Witch training with Grandma" Dora stroked her over the head while Sparky let her pet him. Only the two cups were still confused. "Wow so how long have you last seen them?" Mugman asked curiously.
Iris thought and counted with her fingers. "Five years" "Five years?!" both brothers were very shocked when they heard that. Sparky also looked sadly at Iris. They thought that Iris had no more contact with the three of them. But they were wrong. "We keep in touch but we been so busy we haven't gotten the chance to seeing each other in a long time" The sadness disappeared from the face of Iris who looked again at the window in the hallway.
"So that's why you're so excited to see Andrea, you haven't seen any of your other friends in like forever" Iris nodded and looked at him from the window. "That and I really can't wait for her to meet you guys and Sparky" The puppy barked with joy and wagged his tail while the two brothers were very excited. "Andrea also told me that she have some news to tell me" As she said this, the group heard someone ringing the doorbell. All of them looked at it. Iris was very happy, "She's here!" Not a second later she ran to the door and opened it. "Andrea!" said Iris, but when she opened the door there was no one in front of it. This confused Iris, who at first thought that she had misheard. Please don't tell me it's a joke. Iris didn't want to be made fun of. But when she looked down, she saw a phoenix standing in front of the door looking at her. "A phoenix?" "A what now?" asked Cuphead.
Said Phoenix took to the sky then light up going around in circles in one spot and then when it stops the fire disappeared a Person appeared. Iris knew who this person was. It was Andrea. "And that's how you make an entrance" she wiped the ashes off her hoodie while the phoenix landed on her right shoulder and cawed. "Whoa that was amazing!" both brothers said in amazement when they saw this performance. Iris was very excited about it. Not because of the feat. No, but because she finally got to see her best friend again. "Andrea!" she shouted with joy as she ran out the door and hugged Andrea "Iris long time no see!" they both hugged each other tightly while the phoenix landed next to Sparky and they both looked at each other.
"Oh Andrea, there are some People I want you to meet" Iris stopped hugging Andrea and introduced her to the two brothers who waved at her. "This Cuphead and Mugman" she pointed her fingers at each brother before introducing Andrea to them "Guys this is my friend Andrea Posada". Cuphead and Mugman walked closer to her and extended their hands to shake hands. "Hi" "It's nice to meet you Miss Posada".
Andrea had to smile when she heard that. No one had ever called her Miss before, except her teachers, of course. "You can call me Andrea and it's nice to finally meet you too" she shook the hands of the two brothers. "Iris has told me so much about you two in her letters" Sparky approached Andrea slowly and wagged his tail when he smelled her hand. "Oh, how sweet. Who is this adorable little guy here?" Andrea asked as she picked Sparky up and held him in her arms like a baby.
"Yes who is a cute little guy? Yes you are" she nudged his nose and tickled him behind the ears causing his tail to wag very strongly. Iris giggled when she saw this "This cute little guy is my familiar Sparky" when Andrea heard this she looked at Iris and was very happy to hear it. "Really, this is your Familiar?" Iris nodded while Andrea put the dog on the floor. She stretched out her left arm and the phoenix landed on it. "And who is that?" asked Iris curiously as she pointed at the phoenix. Andrea and the phoenix looked at each other and nodded, confusing Iris and the others until the phoenix flew off her arm, burning brightly and, with the help of Andrea's magic, burning its name into the air. "Atish? Is that his name?" Andrea nodded as the phoenix landed back on her shoulder.
Her gaze landed on Cuphead. "So you are the cup that owns the devil your soul?" Cuphead laughed nervously "Yep that's me" Andrea smirked. She knew that no one had ever been able to escape the devil. "I'm impressed mosts are not that lucky to out smart him" "Thanks to my brother and Iris" Cuphead said while Mugman and Iris just shook their heads. "What about you Iris? Is the Devil still bordering you?" Iris was silent for a minute and nodded while taking a deep breath before continuing.
"Unfortunately yes, I just don't get it? What does he want with me?" Andrea thought. Actually, there was no reason why the devil should be interested in her. Iris did not owe him her soul like Cuphead. So what was it then? "Especially with your family and him has been enemies for generations" There was no reason for it but Andrea didn't know what it could be either. "Whatever it is. It can be discussed later" suggested Dora who took the things from Alicia and brought them into the house. Andrea followed her while Iris closed the door behind her and followed the others into the living room.
But two figures appeared from outside, hiding in the bushes and slowly approaching the window. It was the devil and King Dice.
The two watched the group. Dora spoke with Andrea and Iris. But what did the devil and Dice not hear about? But they didn't care because the devil was happy to see Iris again. His heart was pounding harder than usual and almost threatened to burst out of his chest. "Boss is everything in..." Dice notices something that got his attention and just like the devil it was love at first sight for him. But not with Iris but with Andrea.
"Oh mama who do we have here?" the hearts in his eyes as well as the one in his body throbbed extremely hard as his eyes looked at Andrea. She looked beautiful, you have to agree with him. But she would probably not be as easy to seduce like Iris. Especially when she finds out that he works for the devil. "Oh yes my sweet little Iris is something ain't she?" King Dice knew that the devil was referring to him, so he shook his head to clear his mind before giving his boss a concrete answer. "Yes boss she is very amazing" "Amazing to be my bride and queen " the devil's eye pupils turn into hearts until they both heard the door open and Iris and Andrea walked out of the house. "We'll be back later grandma" Iris called out before they left "ok dear you both have fun" Dora called out to the girls.
While The Devil and Dice both looked out from behind the house and saw the two young witches disappear into the forest with their Familiars. The phoenix landed on Andrea's shoulder while Sparky ran alongside Iris, happily wagging his tail. "Uh, what now, Boss?" asked King Dice. Actually, they wanted to capture both Iris and Cuphead so that the devil would have both the soul of the cup and his future wife with him.
The fact that she was now gone disrupted his plan enormously. But the devil had a good solution. "We'll get the soul of the cup another time, but for now we should use this chance to get Iris", he and King Dice disappeared in a cloud of smoke with his trident.
While the two were away, Iris and Andrea walked along the forest path until they saw Porkrind's shop from a distance and how he was placing new goods outside his shop. His ears did not miss the two voices that slowly approached him. Curious with the hope of getting new customers, he turned around and was surprised to meet an old face again. "Hey Porky" he smirked "Long time no see Andrea Posada" he replied as the two young witches stopped in front of him.
"What brings you here to the islands?" he asked curiously as his eyes wandered to Atish who was grooming his feathers and dropped a feather that landed directly on Porkrind's shoe. He bent down and picked up the feather, which glowed and felt warm to the touch. But he did not burn himself. "Phoenix feathers are very rare and are paid for at a very high price" he put the feather in his pocket. "I hope you don't mind if I pack these?" Andrea shook her head. Iris didn't mind either. After all, the phoenix belonged to Andrea and not to her. And Atish had already lost quite a few feathers on the way here, so why should she say no? "If you know the best place to sell these feathers, I don't mind, Porkster," his growl was hard to ignore, but he didn't say no to the tip. He knew which place she meant. There was only one place on Inkwell Isle where magical as well as forbidden goods were offered, sold and traded. The Full Moon market.
Iris and Andrea knew the market and knew that it was also dangerous for young witches and wizards. Firstly, because there were often swindlers lurking around and secondly, because it was not too common to kidnap young witches and wizards. Iris knew she shouldn't go there alone, which was why she avoided the place. "Thanks for the business Porky" Andrea said before they left "No problem and thanks for the Phoenix feathers" The girls left Porkrind shop
While the two of them were talking, the devil and his assistant King Dice appeared not too far away, hiding behind some trees and watching the two of them walk on while Porkrind collected the remaining feathers of the phoenix. "So far so good" the devil rubbed his hands together and was about to leave his hiding place when King Dice stopped him. Just in time as Andrea cast a powerful spell on a broken tree trunk and turned it to dust. "Wow, that's like the maximum level of the explosion spell?" she asked curiously.
"Yep but it takes a long time to learn and believe me some vases have been broken" Andrea put her wand away and continued walking. Iris knew that Andrea wanted to discuss something with her. Something important. "So you wrote me in the last letter that you wanted to tell me something important" Andrea nodded. Both young witches continued along the path not knowing that they were being watched by the devil and Dice who were secretly following them and listening to the conversation. "I have some good news for you Iris".
Iris tilted her head as a smile slowly crossed her face "Don't tell me you..." "Yep, I'm moving back to the Inkwell Isles and your grandma said I can stay at your house " Iris grinned with delight and couldn't help hugging her. Also pleased that Andrea was staying was King Dice who leaned in love next to the tree while the devil just rolled his eyes.
Both young ladies continued to talk but now changed the subject. " So, I guess you don't know that Lucius Tale escaped from prison" Iris stopped in shock. The name Lucius Tale sounded familiar. "Wait, you mean the wizard who robbed the inhabitants of Inkwell Isle of their life energy all those years ago? That Lucius Tale?" Andrea nodded.
Iris couldn't believe it when she heard that. Lucius Tale was known for the deeds he had done. As punishment, he was not only put behind bars, but his powers were taken away, which can only be restored through four sacred and magical artefacts. "Yes the one and only unfortunately, we don't know exactly how he escaped, but that's not the worst of it." As Iris discovered, Lucius had snatched one of the four artefacts. The Crown of the Tales. A family heirloom made of silver metal and decorated with magical gems. These gems allowed the wearer to increase his magical powers they hold.
That is why the Tales were one of the most powerful wizarding families ever. They were very well known in and outside the world of witches and wizards. But what frightens Iris even more is the fact what the four artefacts could do should Lucius get his hands on them. He could wish for his power back and spread fear and terror once again in the Inkwell Isles as it was many, many years ago. But Iris asked herself one thing. "What are the other artefacts?" Andrea shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know all of them but I know one and that's the Conch shell from the Mermaid Queen," Iris had never heard of it. Many of the Inkwell Isles artifacts and runes were lost and forgotten over time, many today only dismiss it as notting more but myths.
"Anyway, let's stop talking about it and enjoy our time catching up" Andrea suggested as she snapped her fingers and Atish turned into a huge phoenix glowing blue with flames. Sparky retracted his tail and wanted to run away but Iris encouraged him and he too transformed into his wolf form and crackled with electricity. "Hmm that's quite rare for canines to have electrical powers".
Iris smiled "Well Sparky is something special too" she stroked the wolf who wagged her tail in delight while Andrea smiled with joy. Both young witches rode their Familiars and explored the islands together. They were followed by King Dice and the devil. But a hooded figure in a cloak also pursued the two young witches.
Normally one would not think anything of the person, but unfortunately this person was not just any person. No. This person was none other than Lucius Tale. It was one and the same person, only Lucius Tale was ageing very quickly due to the curse he used to collect the energy from the inhabitants. It was like poison, you might think. Poison that drained one's own energy. That is why this magic was forbidden and should never be used again. But Lucius Tale had not thought about what he had done during the time he was locked up and not only how much damage he had done to himself but also to others. No, he was obsessed with it and wanted more. That's why he was back on Inkwell Isle's to get the last three artefacts. And it looks like he had already found one.
But just as the two were about to go further, they heard footsteps behind them approaching at breakneck speed. Both ladies didn't know who or what it could be, so they slowly turned around while they stopped. Iris hoped very much that it was not the devil or some demon of his. But to her relief it was only the two brothers running after them. "Iris wait for us!" said Cuphead who was completely out of breath.
"Don't tell me you've been running after us all this time?" Iris hoped very much that the two of them didn't, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Both cups had to catch their breath before they spoke further and addressed an important matter. "Who is this Lucius Tale anyway?" asked Mugman curiously while the two witches stared at him in confusion and perplexity. "Uhhh..." Iris didn't know what to say or if she should even answer his question. But Andrea came up with a solution.
Normally, the normal inhabitants of the island should not know about this so that there will not be mass panic. But there was a place in the Inkwell Isles where people could talk about this subject without being disturbed. A secret wizard and witch city hidden in the forest. "We could tell them when we get to the place" Iris knew what she meant and nodded her agreement while not only the two brothers but also King Dice were confused. "What kind of place is this?" asked Mugman curiously while Andrea asked the two to come closer and whisper it in their ears before the four went on. They walked deeper and deeper into the forest until they came to a hollow tree wide enough to walk through. Well, rather you could walk through it because it was split in half. This confused the two cups, however, until both witches drew their wands.
But before they could do anything, Iris and Andrea turned to the two brothers. "Where are we going?" asked the older of the two. "You'll see somewhere special" her wand began to glow at the tip. "That only a few non magic folks know and the every few wish they could go to" her wand also began to glow at the tip. But that was not the only thing that glowed. The tree trunk also began to glow and several runes appeared on the briar that lit up one by one until a portal opened that lit up blue like the runes and the tips of the two wands. "Wow!" said the two brothers in amazement when they saw this and wanted to run away but Iris and Andrea stopped them.
"Okay before we go in, Cuphead, Mugman you two have to promise and I mean really promise us that you never tell or show anyone of this place. And you never come here alone without one of us or Grandma Dora" Both cups nodded and promised her and Andrea that they wouldn't tell anyone and wouldn't come here alone. Reassured and somewhat relieved, the four walked through the portal, not knowing that the devil and Dice were following them through the portal that was closing at that very moment.
Arriving on the other side of the portal, the four found themselves in a magical city inhabited by wizards and witches who came either from the Inkwell Isles or from far away. There was almost everything a witch or wizard could need here. From wands and brooms to potions, magical ingredients and Familiars. You could get almost everything here. "Whoa" said the two cups as they saw a dragon made of sparks above their heads following a white ball which it torched several times before it was engulfed by it. "Guys welcome..." the two brothers looked at Iris and Andrea.
"To the Isles Miracles" Both brothers could not stop marvelling. The same was true for King Dice as he and the devil peered out from behind a box and continued to watch Iris and the others. The devil was rather unenthusiastic about the place. For good reason, because there were several wanted posters in the marketplace where Iris and the others were. One of them showed his face. He sighed in annoyance "Of course they would bring those cups here" Dice noticed that he was slightly annoyed. But one thing was still unclear to him. "Wait so you know about this place?" the devil paid no attention to him because he was still focused on the four of them. They were standing in front of a stall selling potions. Only when Dice cleared his throat did the devil notice him and answer his question.
"Of course I do" the devil grinned mischievously "I secretly come here from time to time. Causing mischief, staying up to date with the latest magic and some personal shopping for myself" as he said this, fired his trident at a wizard holding a flowerpot from which a carnivorous plant looked out and bit him while he ran away in panic and pain. The other witches and wizards looked after him in confusion while the devil chuckled. "They just love me".
Dice did not know what to say. Sure, he had to smile too, but his smile disappeared when he saw a wanted poster with the devil's face on it. He took it. "Uh huh I see that... you sure we shouldn't just call it a day boss?" "Nonsense this is perfect with all these people it's easy for anyone to get separated especially that cup and my Iris" he grinned even wider than before and rubbed his hands together "Boss I know you really want to capture the cup soul and your future wife but you are an enemy to every good witch and wizard here and if you are discovered we are out numbered".
"Don't worry Dice no one will discover me" he looked around and saw two cloaks which he took unnoticed from a cloak seller. He gave one to Dice while he put on the other and was almost unrecognisable. "We will just follow them then when the moment is right we seperate the Cup and Iris from the others then I'll have his soul and my bride" Dice was still unsure about the whole thing but the devil was positive and he found it hard to change his mind. So he followed his boss with the hope that everything would work out the way he wanted it to. After all, a lot could happen.
But for the moment, everything was still fine. Both for the devil and for Iris. She was out with the others to look for small things but also to find out more about Lucius Tale. Most of the wanted posters showed his face. A paperboy also kept shouting out the news. "Extra, extra! The notorious wizard Lucius Tale has escaped from the wizard prison! Extra! A reward of one million is on him!" Iris heard it and was shocked. "So he really was able escaped?" she said, startled.
"Yes, for exactly one week the news has been going around that he has broken out" "But I thought the prison was safe and that no one could break out!?" Andrea just shrugged. She herself didn't know how he had broken out. But one thing was clear. He wasn't much of a threat because he had lost his magic powers. So he was more than weak. But unfortunately there was no good news.
As Iris learned from Andrea, a few days after his escape from prison, there was a break-in at his family estate. No one was hurt but a crown was stolen. The legendary crown of the Tales. A trademark of the wizard family. After all, the Tales were known for producing magical gems. That is why the crown was made of the most powerful gemstones and was therefore considered a very powerful artefact. Of course there were several more of them, but Lucius Tale was after even more artefacts.
No one knew what they were, but one thing was clear. They were on the Inkwell Isles. That is why so many witches and wizards returned to the Inkwell Isles. But hidden so that the inhabitants hardly noticed them. "So Iris, I been meaning to asked were did you get that necklace?" she pointed curiously at the necklace with the shimmering blue gemstone. "Oh, my grandmother gave it to me as protection from the devil and from all dark magic this necklace has been in my family for years" the devil, who was not far away, heard it and growled as both cups explained to Andrea how the necklace worked on him and she had to laugh.
"Wow look at that" Cuphead ran to a shop that sold all kinds of brooms "And that" Mugman stood in front of a shop that sold wands. Both shops were far away from each other, so Iris and Andrea quickly collected them so that they wouldn't lose sight of each other. "Guys stay close" Iris said as she took Cuphead by the hand and together with him and Sparky walked to Andrea who returned to the two with Atish and Mugman.
Both cups, however, were confused and were about to say something when Iris and Alicia took them out of the crowd into a small side alley. "It's easy to get lost and separated " Andrea explained to the two mugs who now felt bad. "Sorry Irie but there just so much..." "Awesome and amazing magic we never get to see" his brother interrupted him, which annoyed Mugman a little. "That's why today me and Andrea are going to take you to all the places we loved to go to when we were the same ages like you two" the oversized pupils were hard to miss, just shining and sparkling with joy.
Andrea meanwhile looked out of the side alley and saw a shop they could visit. "Our first stop is the enchanted Ice cream shop" the two straws of the two cups stood candles straight. Well, Mugman's was, only Cuphead's wasn't until they turned around and it was bent again. "Did you just say..." both brothers approached Andrea. "Enchanted Ice cream!?" Andrea nodded and showed the two brothers the shop she was referring to. It was a shop with white, blue, red and yellow striped patterns on the outside wall and the canopy on which a small table with two chairs stood. It looked a bit strange but it also fit somehow. Like the flying ice cream cones that flew into customers' hands or even chased them while their hands were full.
The four went to the shop and got ice cream before continuing with their shopping. There were many other shops they visited besides this one. Andrea and Iris went to a dress shop for witches and wizards that had almost everything. There they tried on their new capes. Andrea's cloak was black with a green and blue pattern inside and a phoenix pattern shining on her back. Iris's cloak was similar. Only her cape was blue with white inside patterns and a dog pattern that looked very much like Sparky adorned her back.
While the two witches were on their way out of the shop, King Dice suddenly appeared from behind a mannequin and tried to remove Iris' necklace, but she bent down just as he was about to grab it and flew. However, the four of them did not hear this, which relieved him. But he did not want to give up and followed the four. While Andrea looked for a new wand, the others stayed outside. Iris tended to her wand while both cups enjoyed their ice cream. Dice saw this and slowly crept up behind Iris to remove her necklace unnoticed. But suddenly he heard a growl behind him and turned around. To his horror, it was Sparky who was not very pleased about what he was about to do.
That's why he slowly walked away from Iris, who was a little confused, why he growled but thought nothing of it. While the four of them strolled around the market and Dice was still trying to remove the necklace from Iris. But unfortunately he was always unlucky and hurt himself quickly, which did not please the devil very much. "Hopeless" the devil looked at Dice who did not look very nice.
"Ok, you go back to the underworld" "What about you boss?" Dice asked him in shock when he heard this statement. "Well it's looks like I'm the only one that have to do the job right myself" with his trident he teleported him away and focused again on Iris and the others who just had their hands full with bags of shopping and more. "Thank you for bringing us here Iris and Andrea," Mugman thanked them both. "Yeah this has been an amazing day..." Cuphead was about to eat the sandwich Andrea had bought him when it was suddenly snatched out of his hand by a small creature.
A small rodent-like creature with a long snout similar to that of a platypus and a coat of black, fluffy fur. This creature had the sandwich in his mouth and another thing he had bought. It was a pocket watch he had bought for Elder Kettle that was made of gold-like metal and whose pictures moved. "Hey!" he shouted as he saw the creature not only swallow his sandwich whole but also tuck the pocket watch into his body as if they were pockets.
"That thing robbed me!" Cuphead said annoyed as the creature disappeared into the crowd of witches and wizards. "Get back here your adorable theft!" Yelled Mugman then both ran after the creature that Iris and Andrea did not see. But the two of them saw the two cups and ran after them. "Cuphead!" "Mugman! Guys come back!" the two witches shouted as they ran past a few boxes behind which the devil was hiding, who heard them and grinned mischievously. "Looks like now's my chance" he rubbed his hands mischievously and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
Both brothers ran after the Niffler who almost disappeared in the crowd of witches and wizards. Unfortunately Mugman lost sight of his brother and took the Wrong turn to another area. But Cuphead did not give up so quickly and ran after him until he could encircle the Niffler. "Got you now you little thief!" he grabbed the Niffler and asked himself one thing. "What are you?" a creature like this Cuphead had never seen before. "It's a Niffler," Iris replied. Cuphead turned to her who was a little out of breath. "A what?" Cuphead was still confused and stared at the Niffler, shaking it and noticing that a lot of gold, money and jewelry was falling out of it.
"A Niffler is..." she thought "These little guys can't help it when they see something shiny they want it" Just as she finished her sentence, the last part fell out of the body of the little Niffler, which Iris could see was still a baby. "Ok now that we got your stuff back we got to go find the others and return this little gut back to his owner" Cuphead was a little confused but yes he and Iris were alone. There was no trace of Mugman and Andrea. It was clear that they had lost sight of each other, but the magic rope that was wrapped around them scared them both. "Hey!" "What gives!?" said the two as they tried to free themselves. But the rope was much too strong for them.
But the question was who had conjured up the rope to tie them up in a side alley? Well a familiar laugh quickly answered the question as the two heard someone approaching them. "You know... You will not believe what I went through just to finally get you two alone" Both heard the voice and looked towards the entrance of the alley where none other than the devil stood approaching the two with a grin on his face.
"Ah! The Devil!" Cuphead screamed in fear and panic as he now tried to frantically free himself from his situation. "Finally I'm going to get that soul that you owe me you annoying brat" Grinning, he approached Cuphead with his claw, ready to rip his soul out of his body. "Leave him alone!" said Iris annoyed. The devil looked from Cuphead to her and smiled seductively at her. "I'll deal with you later" he looked to Cuphead before going to Iris "Oh and I haven't forgotten about you my darling witch".
Slowly he stroked her hair and cheek while his tail slowly wrapped around her waist. "Soon you'll be with me at your new home in my underworld" "What?!" they both said in shock when the devil mentioned it. "I get why you're after me but what does it have to do with Irie?" Iris asked herself the same question. "I want to know that too out of all the other witches in the Inkwell isles..what do you want with me".
"I wanted to make it a little more special instead in a alley but I guess while we wait for Henchmen…I'll tell you" the devil explained to her as he walked back and forth. His gaze wandered from Iris to Cuphead who was still trembling with fear. Iris didn't blame him either. She would feel the same way if her soul was at stake. "You see cup... our Darling Witch Iris has shown to be more amazing overtime than when I first met her" Iris and Cuphead were only more confused. Why was the devil talking about Iris like that?
"I'll admit her charming beauty did catch my attention but again overtime I got to see beside her cute looks" Iris didn't know what to say just like Cuphead. Both were confused and shocked at the same time. "She is smart, loyal, a bit stubborn..." Iris rolled her eyes in annoyance when she heard this while the devil smirked. "With a beautiful voice and full of moxie that I realized how perfect she is for me" Cuphead was still confused but Iris guessed what the devil meant.
Don't tell me he is... Iris thought to herself. "That Iris Spark I'm in love with you and decided that I want you to be my wife and queen". Now she was more than shocked when she heard that. Cuphead's jaw dropped when he heard this statement. Iris, on the other hand, couldn't believe what she had just heard. "What The Hell are you talking about!?" "What Are You Nuts!?" both did not believe what they had just heard. No, that could not be true. The devil in love with a good witch? And a Spark one at that? That could not be true. Or could it?
"How can you say you love me with your history with my family have been enemies for generations you despise the Spark family" but that did not really bother the devil. "I don't dispise you" his hand touched her cheek and caressed it tenderly while he stared at her deeply and firmly. The fire of passion burned within him. Iris saw and felt it. "You barely know me and I definitely don't love you" she hoped that would scare him off, but unfortunately she was wrong again. The devil was persistent and would never give up until he got what he wanted. So she already knew that it would not be easy. "Just give me a chance and I'll know you'll fall for me i mean how can you not fall for this handsome devil".
Iris thought while Cuphead sweated even more than before. "Let's see you're the devil, you're evil, you been stealing people souls and trying to steal my best friend soul. Oh and don't forget you been harassing and trying to kidnap me…need I say more" Cuphead nodded at her in agreement while the devil just looked annoyed. "and now you're saying that you love me and want to marry me..don't I have a say in this!?" "of course you do..on our wedding day when you say I do".
His hand went over her cheek again while his lips slowly came closer to hers. Iris was not very enthusiastic about the fact that the devil was willing to marry her against her will and that now he have the gall to try kiss her on the lips. She did not want to be married to someone so quickly. In fact, she does hope to marry someday when she's a little older and for love but not like this. "Never... going..to... happen!?" she said, avoiding his attempts to kiss her lips. This made the devil a little angry. "Well darling you will marry me and your going to be my wife and queen" Suddenly the three heard a bell and looked to the end of the alley where the elevator appeared with Henchman inside.
"Ah Henchmen perfect timing you got the rubber gloves?" Rubber gloves? "Right here boss" Henchman held a pair of yellow rubber gloves in his left hand which he handed to the devil. "Excellent..now darling let see about getting that pesky necklace off shall we" slowly he put on a rubber glove while grinning at Iris. She swallowed nervously and was now sweating as much as Cuphead. With both rubber gloves now on, the devil tried to remove the necklace Iris wore around her neck. He and Iris knew that he could not touch it with his hands without harming himself and getting an electric shock.
But despite the gloves he got an electric shock which was so strong that the rubber gloves were destroyed. "Ha your gloves didn't work you jerk!" the devil growled as the cup laughed at him while he shook the soot off his body and turned to face him. "Oh Shut up" With a snap of his fingers, Cuphead's mouth turned into a zipper that was closed. Cuphead got even more scared than before when he tried to speak but unfortunately nothing came out of his mouth because it was zipped shut as mentioned before.
Iris tried to free herself but she was too weak to do so. "Ok look like we are going with plan B..." he looked to Henchman "Henchman!". This one stood bolt upright and went to the devil. "Go and take that necklace off my bride" he nodded and went to Iris who begged him several times not to do it. "I'm sorry about this but the boss really wants to marry you" his hands slowly approached her necklace. Iris tried to move so that he could not take the necklace from her so easily. But before he could even touch the necklace, the alley suddenly became bright as a flash of light appeared and blinded the group. Iris and Cuphead closed their eyes while the devil and Henchman were momentarily blinded.
"Iris are you okay?" "Cuphead is everything alright?" the two heard voices that sounded more than familiar. "Andrea is it you?" asked Iris as she opened her eyes and saw her in front of her with her Familiar Sparky freeing Cuphead with Atish while Andrea freed Iris. "Andrea. Thank the stars you're here!" she hugged her and couldn't help but cry with joy and relief. "Don't worry, I'm here now and I've brought help" Iris was confused but only now noticed the man standing behind Andrea.
He is a tall wizard with hazel hair and blue eyes wearing a grey coat with burn marks and scratches, a black vest, white shirt, bow tie, dark brown trousers with a wand holster and black boots. He held the sleeping Niffler in his arms before putting it in his pouch and also pulled out his wand to remove Cuphead's zipper mouth. "Thank you Mister..." "Scamander, Leon Scamander" the man replied as he turned to the devil. "So this is the devil the Magic Council is looking for?" he didn't want to believe it but it was true. The Wanted poster doesn't lie.
But before Leon could do anything, the devil disappeared in a cloud of smoke and left the group alone. Iris was glad that the danger was over and that she finally had peace from the devil. "Thanks for the rescue" she thanked Leon with a handshake. "I should thank you more, because without you I wouldn't have found this little rascal and I could have gotten into a lot of trouble" Iris and Andrea knew what he meant. Nifflers were little thieves and if you lose them you can get into trouble very quickly.
Not for nothing are Nifflers banned in the marketplace. Iris was glad that she was no longer trapped and was safe again for the time being. That the devil would not give up so easily was clear. But what shocked Iris even more was the fact that he loved her and wanted to make her his wife and queen. That did not fit. After all, she was in training to become a good witch to help others. The devil was the complete opposite of her. Instead of helping others, he spread chaos.
Unfortunately the devil would not give up so easily that was clear. But Iris didn't want to think about it anymore. She and the others thanked Leon and went with him to the marketplace back to his store where several magical and non-magical animals were sold. "Thanks again for your help you four" he thanked again and handed the four of them each a coupon. The four also thanked him and walked back to the Sparks house with several full bags.
Of course, Andrea and Mugman were curious what the devil was up to with Iris and why he was so intent on getting the necklace. That's why Iris and Cuphead explained it to them on the way home. "wow that crazy and make everything more worse" Iris nodded sadly at him. "Not only is the devil still after your Soul" he looked at his brother who was scratching the back of his head nervously while his brother rolled his eyes in annoyance. "But...now..." his gaze wandered to Iris and Andrea. Iris looked even more worried than before, which Andrea noticed. Mugman was about to continue but Andrea interrupted him.
"Now we have a love crazy diablo wanting to marry Iris" Iris groans in annoyance "Another problem to worry..." Yes, she did not like that at all that the devil was in love with her. Why her of all people? Were there no female demons in the underworld? Probably not. Otherwise, he would hardly have fallen in love with her. "Why me?" Iris asked, but no one could give her an exact answer to this question. No one knew why the devil had chosen her of all people to become his wife and queen.
"Hey that jerk have to get through us before he ever try's to marry you" Cuphead said as he tightened his abs and looked like he was a bodybuilder. Iris had to smile when she saw that and felt like her old self again. Today was already something special for them. Not only that she was on the road again with her best friend who now also lives with her but also that they could show the two cups the secret witch and wizard city on the Inkwell Isles.
Meanwhile in the underworld
Henchmen was talking care of a really injured Dice while the Devil complained about what happened today "We had them!" said the Devil. "We had them. And then the cup's brother and Iris friend just had to show up with back up and ruin everything" Dice sigh in love thinking about Andrea "Yeah..What a women" The devil look angrily annoyed at that comment and dice cleared His throat
"Big D…don't worry there will be other chances you'll get that Cup's soul and your Spark bride" Unknown to the devil he was being watched by a magic all seeing eye that was being used by non other then Lucius Tale
He laughs at what he just saw and heard. "What a interesting change of events..The Devil..actually in love with a good witch. But not just any good witch but a Spark!?" he couldn't believe it. The King of the Underworld in love with a Good witch. "Oh old friend you and that Spark don't know it but you two are the last keys for both revenge and getting back my rightful place in the Inkwell Isles".
