Chapter 1 Annelise returns

like I said, at the end of the last chapter, this will be a mixed one even though Annelise will be the main focus. We'll see what our heroes are up to. We haven't seen them in a while. Also, this is after Zoe tells her little story they're all still awake and it's still nighttime all right I don't think anyone's asleep right now they just got back from Canes's house so we're gonna see what happens.

Annelise

oh, I was standing with Ezra and the Emerald dragon beside us greeny he said that's what it was called. He told me that as we flew over and went through the barrier of Ravenswood we landed by the little house in the beautiful palace that sat next to it. I was mesmerized by how the palace looked now it was my home for a few days weeks maybe months a year but I'd never seen it so beautiful he told me Ezra said this is what it looks like when it's fully solidified through Luther Zora wasn't I was mesmerized how beautiful I even walked up and touched that I am Palace. It didn't see me as a threat, so it didn't attack me. Why because it doesn't see you as a threat. Luther is in this if he knows you're pure, the pace will not attack you or let you on, but I'm betting everyone's inside and they're not expecting us should we go inside? I'm not allowed inside Ezra said so we'll wait for them to come out then what come out and see what's going on I said OK then.

mr. outside and watch the sunrise. It was always mesmerizing to watch the sunrise. It was so calm and peaceful inside here, more than it was outside eventually, though the people not everyone, but the people that were in our group woke up. Not everyone, though not all the people that were saved in the quarantine zones but our family, my mother and father and Riley, Luther Scarlett, and two little bundles in their arms along with another little bundle that I've never seen before I didn't get to sit in to meet him much I guess was in Helena's arms, my new mother's arms, and Scarlet, Miss Scarlet, and Luther were holding two on each and another little girl was following Riley and another girl I guess that lived on the Palace with them came out as well another young woman I guess I guess they heard the dragon and they were talking, but they all hadn't gone to bed yet or they just woke up and they've already heard her story I heard whatever it was that was going on and they've already gone to sleep and woke up.

Oh, I heard my new mother say first me Ezra, we weren't expecting you of course, ma'am, says Miss Helena but I brought something you forgot, but not in a bad way she escaped before you all could escape. I wonder how that worked I'm guessing she found out about the guards and well I guess she ran out right after she knew the guards were dead I don't remember cleaning up another extra room. I heard Riley say oh Mom that's probably why you took so long you didn't just clean up Mommy and Dad, Mom and Dad's rooms that's right dear. I heard her say she put her hand on Riley's shoulder.

and that's also why we had so many extra things. I heard her say again.

Riley

I was mesmerized not just by the little girl or young girl standing in front of me, but by Ezra being here I was also wondering why she was here too what's that and who's that I heard her say I looked down at the little girl at my feet Zoe, I picked her up first pointing at the girl that's my sister I said I thought I'm your sister you are I said ruffling the little girls hair of course you're my sister Zoe, but I had an actual biological sister I have sister, who is a princess like me, Zoe's eyes I didn't know she didn't Zoe, my baby. She said I said bouncing her, I almost forgot to I heard Luther say yes Scarlet said I almost did too. It was so wonderful to see my sister holding my brother next to her with his arm around her waist as far as he could as long as he could reach her, he was about as tall as her now, so that was good.

Ezra was talking to mom and dad. Oh, first mage. I heard her say we didn't mean to leave her you didn't leave her she escaped first. Oh, that's expected. She probably ran out as soon as she yes didn't wait for you all to wake up I just Zoe to one side of myself onto my arm and reached out for the other girl, she's a little scared at first but then she walked to me Annalise Riley Annalise ran to me. Be careful I have a little bundle. Oh, she said give me a hug I just missed you sister I miss talking to you I do too and I'm sorry I should've included you more, but it was to keep you safe more than myself I said, I know, said Annelise, I know you had to get freedom for both of us freedom for all of us freedom for you and me. She said I know that much Riley and I love you, Riley. I love you too sister I came to bring her. Ezra said I found her outside, but I guess she didn't get a chance to get to the palace in time, that's my fault. Luther said I should've landed, but I didn't. I couldn't land. I shouldn't have landed any sun Ezra said you did well not landing and we could've followed you if she wanted but she wouldn't be able to get into the barrier without my help, that's true. He hugged me too, or hugged Annalise as well let go of Riley and Riley Annelise let go with me and ran to him too Annelise. He said my little sister Vald, Orion's sister he said hello brother I heard her say what you got she asked a baby he said who's baby mine Annalise's eyes widened. It's a long story he said I'll tell you later, but you're safe now I wouldn't have destroyed Volder right away if you were if you were still in there too Annelise, I didn't escape Volder. I escaped the quarantine zone. Well now everyone I love is here. I can destroy her soon but not yet I'm not ready yet now the baby is on one of him, it was interesting to watch the last time I saw him he was 12 now he is 13. Riley nodded and this is the little girl I was wondering to meet too as I pulled Zoe to Annelise she's five I'm five said the little girl my name is Zoe and named after my dad she said proudly

Annelise bent down to her well I'm eight too like Riley I heard her say you're 82 yes I am 82 is nice to meet you Louis Zoe smiled well I guess you're my sister I am I am she said and maybe you can be attached to me and Riley she smiles. I smile too. I think we'll get along well. Thank you first mage for bringing Annelise, you're welcome Mrs. Timecrest now I should go. I will come back for Luther soon when it's time and whatever army you get together to destroy Volder yes to destroy Volder soon and that tire of a king I heard Helena say Mother's Day, and then will be free again it'll take some time. I had a great time with her her ruffles Annalise's hair affectionately like a father kind of well I'm glad I returned you to your family. He says now I must go he lives we watched Ezra fly out. We weren't expecting this. I hugged Annalise again Annelise Riley I almost forgot we had another Vald Dorian little girl I did too almost said Juliet said Father Annalise now you can be formally into things you're free inside here. Where are we ravens with deer this is my hometown I heard mom say, and Scarlett's hometown and Luther's birthplace. She knows we're safe in here because there's a barrier over us the entire town is covered in a barrier made by Era Zora, once the Fred of soul is gone, Ezra will relieve the barrier, or at least when the Voran at least maybe not with soul is done, but I'm not exactly sure, but I'll take care of soul mother I heard Luther say I know you will son you will kill him. Can't wait for that. I heard Miss Scarlet say wrapping her arms around Luther, my sweet Scarlet. I heard I heard him say this is such a surprise.

no, I have my actual sister I said, and my new little adopted sister I said oh Zoe and Annalise are close to me smiling at me. Well, I'm glad to be back in your presence sister and now I can do things with you. I never thought I heard Luther say I never thought that I'd have so many Vald Orion siblings. He said laughing, Riley, Zoe, and Annalise all of them being my sisters too is that wrong? I heard Annelise say no Luther said Annelise, you and you and Riley and Zoe are pure so I'm fine with it, I am fine with it. I am fine with it. Besides, I knew that Annelise would find us soon. Well, I wasn't expecting that I was Mom said but I'm happy now we're family and we're gonna stay this way as a family. Yes, I heard Father say yes yes, and yes, I could've I heard Luther say I would've landed and grabbed you, but we couldn't land. We shouldn't land. If we had landed it, we would've been spotted and I couldn't teleport you up, of course, but being with Ezra was the best thing for you yes Annelise said I was fine being with Ezra for at least a few days and now I'm with you my big family my wonderful family, I'm so happy Anna said you can be part of my practice with me I said to her what do you mean I don't have any healing magic no but you could do like Zoe you can help me stir things and things Zoe already helps so you can help too. Oh, that sounds like fun, at least I could be part of something. Dr. Crawford said it's about time I have my practice He and his old partner will probably start talking again and they'll probably well start their practice back up and he said that I could have my clinic so you and Zoe can help me oh that would be wonderful. I heard her say I'll have a great time. Also, Claire's joining us as well. She's a midwife she'll probably help both practices. She's a midwife and a nurse so she'll be a great help to us, I would love Claire Annalise to look up to Claire. It was the first time she saw her who are you? I am Claire I work for the Madame and Naster. She said I'm the nanny of their children but I will help out as much as I can.

also, I miss Scarlett's oldest and dearest fan friend especially since I was her best friend for a long long time said Claire I was the one who told Miss Helena about Scarlett being abused. She said, whispering in her, an analyses ear already knew the story, but Annelise didn't well, I took care of her somewhat until Miss Helena saved her. I was so happy she did. My family was so good to Miss Scarlet that we were close. We do anything for her and Luther and their new children. Annalise's eyes widen. Oh, that's who those two kids are yes I heard Scarlet say this is Leanna and this she's the youngest one and Liam went names I heard Annelise say beautiful names for beautiful children. I told Luther that maybe we have an S-named child later for me if I decide to have anymore I heard her say well Annalise said this, Scarlet, you and Luther are great. I think you two will be great parents and your children are beautiful and you are a lovely family together. Thank you. Scarlett said hugging Annalise and you're one of the most adorable little children of us of our little family. We would've adopted little aura too, but they were already adopted out to the stuff she was already adopted out to the stones. We would've raised her too or even Zoe but she's attached to Riley. Well, I guess that makes sense, we laugh why don't we go inside ion Luther says good idea we weren't expecting Ezra today you weren't expecting me either. We didn't know how long it took we'll have to figure out a sleeping place for you. Ash already has a room and Riley and Annalise already share a room I mean Riley and Zoe share a room, I have an idea what's that maybe Annalise can have a house of her own what do you mean the pop-out house? You said that you were gonna be in a playhouse but Annelise could live in it on her own I don't wanna be alone we're not gonna chain you darling, I said hugging my sister you'll have freedom in the whole house. What does cook for you tonight and the house on my kind of well you know Zoe and I can move in there with you that would be nice yes and that room can be open for whatever said Helena mother said I don't know what will use her old room for, but we will use it for something. Yes, the three of you should have your own home even though you're all young, yes yes yes, and yes the house is built for three people. I just have to get it set up so Julius and the 3U Dorian sisters will have their own home. We all smiled sisters for ourselves. It sounds great.

is better than having as a Playhouse yes but we will come in and cook. Mom said you you three are not old enough to cook on your own yet Riley I know of course Mother I would let you all live on in until the house is fixed ion that's what I'm naming the place. Luther said oh makes sense I heard Annelise say and I haven't gotten to see the Cal castle the palace and its full solidified state will come with me he said, taking Annelise his hand, your things are still in here too.

I just can't believe I'm part of a new family she said as she walked off with Luther I did with Scarlet and the children I was holding one now I guess because Luther was helping Annelise he handed me Liam well I didn't expect him to take so fondly of Annelise. Well, it's good. I'll get the little pop-out house ready for Julius. It shouldn't take long. She probably won't have to stay on long. She could stay in the little house with Riley and Zoe, I know the room will be empty I know but maybe you can use it as something dear I don't know yet maybe I can yes I think I could. I don't know what yet but I will use it for something. I heard mom say you don't think about wanting to have more children, dear oh no, no no I don't know if I want another child I don't know, I mean Ash was a pretty smooth bird but I don't know if I want to have another child. There are so many little children right now he laughs well of course we have Zoe, Annelise Riley, and Ash and Ash too and then all the other children are grandchildren. Yes, our two lovely grandchildren, do you want us to help or me to help? I asked no Riley why don't you and Zoe start packing again Zoe said we just got settled in the house I know but you and me I said to her you and me and Annelise will have a house of our own yay house with big sister, Riley, and big sister Annalise

Zoe

Riley took my hand and we went back inside our house and Miss Scarlet and Luther disappeared. I guess back into the big palace I guess to get Annelisa things, and daddy started building the little puppet house. I've never seen it, but Riley told me that she heard stories from Mom when they traveled they lived in it, but now it's gonna get a different purpose. It's gonna be a little house for me and Riley and Annalise, the house is too small for all of us and it's only a three-bedroom house so they didn't want me to live in it on my own or Annalise on her own so Riley is going to live with us too. It's gonna be so much fun I have two big sisters and a brother I'm happy and a sibling a baby but they aren't gonna throw me over just because of Ash. They love Ash too I love Ash too either Rosie cheek little thing and I love him he's so cute I bet Mommy and stepdad's other baby is gonna be ugly cause it won't matter big brother Luther is going to kill him anyway so would it matter to me no no no no he's gonna kill them all give me a shame that he'll marry first and then kill Vald Orians, but oh well I don't know. I hope they marry soon. I love being an auntie too and now Annalise is an auntie we're all aunties, and we're gonna live together.

me, Riley, and Annalise I also heard Mommy say that she's going to finish education for us well and Annalise and Riley are going to go to school over the river but not brother, not my big brother and Miss Scarlet. They're going to finish their education here because they're well lither might he might go across the river to learn because he is still 13 but not right not Miss Scarlet she's 17 and going to be 18 she just has a few things to learn before she's done that my new big brother is a father but also has to finish school it's hilarious, but mom says he needs to finish up some of his education that they didn't get to finish when they were on the road. It's only he only has to learn up till he's 18 so that'll be a while but me and my big sisters will be going to the school yard which will be great. I have never been to one and never been to school so this will be new for me but I'll have my big sisters with me. That'll be fun also I'll get to meet my new grandpa and Law or whatever, I don't think of him as such I don't know him he's Scarlett's brother he's Scarlett's father so I don't think he's related to me for say but I guess he will be Scarlet and Luther, Mary. I guess I'll have to call her sister too so happy, the lovely lady that I saw in the window is going to be my sister-in-law and away from her awful ugly brother who hurt her she is safe too.

everyone is safe now. I heard Riley say come Zoe she took my hand and we went inside to our room we were in for like maybe a little while maybe one night that was fine with me. We packed up our things and Elise was probably getting her things from the palace. I guess Luther probably saved them for her great big brother, I thought, that was probably why we had so much more stuff than everyone else not just because of all the books and things but also because of well because of Annalis things I guess they didn't forget her completely packed up. Mommy changes the sheets so that'll be fresh for something else or someone else to stay there, and if mom decides to have more babies then well I guess we be a big family. We are already a big family though Mommy likes it she likes having all these children around. It makes her feel alive and more hands to help the babies like me and the babies like Ash and the twins it's great. Annalise is good and I like her like Riley Riley told me she was trapped in a little tower. That's so sad trapped in a little tower all by herself. Poor Annalise she safe now too.

and all three of us will live together and now I have two big sissies to take care of me. I think Annelise thinks of me as a baby two or two so that's nice and we're all the same. All three of us are Voran so that's good too but Mom and Dad don't care if we are. She loves us just the way we are Vald Dorian or not because she told me blood ain't what makes a family Zoe it's love and attention. That's what makes a family I guess because she adopted Miss Scarlet too kind of I didn't like hearing Scarlet's story it made me sad. I felt scared of her brother's story, but her story was so sad, her birth and being raped by her brother, so young hell awful, why do we have so much tragic tragedy in our family I don't know and I was a little afraid when I saw the first for the first time I saw him before, so he was intimidating kind of scary too well, I guess he's fine.

and his friend friends with our family, so I guess that makes sense not a complete ally, but I guess that's a good thing. I guess I helped Riley pack her things we all have a room I heard her say you'll have a room Zoe Annalise will have a room and me, I don't get to sleep with you anymore no you'll have your room. Yay, my room but your room will be between mine and Annelise we all share a bathroom that's what Mom says and we had one bathroom in this little pop-out house so you and me and Annelise will share a bathroom and a kitchen too but we won't cook not for a long time. Mama will come and cook for us, oh then why live in a house by ourselves once we wouldn't all fit in that house there's no way makes sense. I said, hugging, hugging Riley. When will Annelise be done soon dear Luther is helping her. Oh right, big brother good big brother. Yes, he is a wonderful brother. I like him very much good, I think he likes you and me and Annalise too even though we're Voran he doesn't care like he said he doesn't care about the Valerian inside the wall all the ones he cares about her here you and me and Annalise are you and Annalise go go fight probably I heard her say me fight no you Zoe stay here you're my baby and I want you to stay baby for a long time I don't want you get your hands dirty inside. You have no fighting ability you kill Mommy and Daddy, Mommy, and Stepdaddy Luther. Well, he'll probably hurt them the worst he'll probably torture them, he might kill them first remember, I told you brother can break their bones into pieces oh, but he's probably gonna get through chances and get himself up to higher levels. He's already there all he has to do is wave his hand or say the words and everyone's bones will break, it'll probably take a good group of people with him to help like me and Annalise and some other people that people fight probably just me and Annalise and him just the three of us. I don't think Mommy and Daddy can fight and Miss Scarlet isn't allowed to lie she's strong yes, yes yes she is.

but brother doesn't want her to fight why I don't know. I think it has something to do with her being a mother now, but he's a father. Yes, but it is Destiny to destroy them. Scarlet has to stay here. Miss Scarlet has to not die she might die or get hurt by her brother so she has to stay here. She'll stay here and take care of you and the other children. I think some of us who were close to Miss Scarlet will probably go. Claire is also a pretty strong fighter so she's gonna go. I don't think Jason Glenn has any magic so they'll stay here and the stones have no magic, but they might go and fight. They are the resistance after all they probably go fight at least the stones children will Nadia and Dylan oh, and like I said, Miss Claire, she'll go and fight too.

she has a little magic so she'll be able to fight too you will be dirty yes, will be dirty will be covered in blood baby and her hands will be staying with it even for a long long time but we have to we have to, but we won't have to for another two or three years why can't you go now he's promised to have at least the evil king has at least two years to reign at least two years and then he died and if he don't die he'll run away but brother will kill him. We don't have a whole lot in here so I don't know what mommy and daddy are gonna do with this room next but you and me and Annelise will be together.

Riley

I saw Luther and my sister coming out with her things and my new father and the puppy house were done it's permanent now he says I was gonna make it a Playhouse for y'all to play in but now I'm guessing my three little daughters will have to stay here now we'll take care of Zoe I said of course she will Riley, you and Annalise yes we both hugged little Zoe and left her too. She's so cute. Remember I told you she was a little girl I met in the trials before I yes I remember you telling me that Annalise made an impression on you and I didn't get to hear her story, but you told me earlier I did, or we can talk about it later I am sad. She was a street urgent that's worse than for me. She'll live a better life now and she can be a kid you and I will never be children again and I think we can I heard her say we can be children again to Riley. I mean we're going to go to school after all that is true that is true and we'll get to be children again too. Yes will try and be children and Elise we can relax for a bit, but Miss Scarlet and Luther will never be that way ever again they'll never be children again I mean they're gonna finish their education but they'll never get to value their joys of being children because of being parents.

that's true I heard her say and I said we're kind of like that too. As sisters but parents too kind of well yes cause we're taking care of Zoe she's our sister it's different. Yeah, I love her. I heard her say me too. I said I love little Zoe and I'm glad she's safe with us and not gonna die. I don't think your brother would. I don't think brother would've killed him killed her I don't think so. He probably would've rescued her, or she would've been dead already I thought if I heard Annelise say sadly that her parents beat her and treated her a lot worse and it is a little girl I want to stay a little innocent baby for a long time I said I don't want her to grow up so soon she's five and I'm worried she'll grow up quickly maybe she won't I mean we'll take care of her mommy mom and dad will raise her obviously, but we will watch over her here in this little house. It sounds wonderful and will be free soon free from Volder free from the soul and everything will be great, I mean even if he doesn't die, we might get some freedom maybe but we might have to stay in this barrier for longer said Annelise why I asked if so, isn't dead we won't be able to be free again that is true, but brother wants to build a guild and oh my goodness it's gonna be a pain when we can help. Of course, we will help build a guild in Miss Scarlet too, he's not denying that for her well he's just not letting her fight in this fight. She might eventually let her have a chance to fight her brother soon, but she is still tired from giving birth and he doesn't want her to fight too soon even if it is a year or two.

that's so sweet I heard Annelise say yes as we settled into our new little house, I set up my room Annelise set up her own as well and we helped Zoe set up her purse. I get my room Zoe said, jumping up and down I mean, I didn't mind sharing with you Riley, but having my room is good too. It is isn't it Zoe now you get your room all by yourself and I get a room and Annelise gets one too. Yay my first own room I mean I had my room but I was about if they had kicked me out they would've made me share with that baby there weren't that many rooms in my house enough for me to have my room of course but I would've had to share with my new Mommy and stepdaddy's room baby but now I don't have to worry no if we did take it, I said again to Annalise oh, the other baby she would've shared a room with Zoe, but the stones took her and raised her. I wanted to, but I didn't wanna be a Mommy at eight. You kind of are not exactly, but I am a watchover for Zoe, if I were older, yes I would be Zoe's mommy. Annalise laughs. Well, I guess so and I would be in her around two. Yes, you can still kind of be but you're more of a sister than anything else.

that is true am mom came in with the pulley ropes. All right here we go. She said it was time to use the magic furniture she said laughing. Are there appliances in here? Oh yes dear we always break those down too. In this house. Yeah, we just didn't use them in the quarantine zone, there we go and your rooms are all set up. You have your bed now all you have to do is just put your clothes away and build this home to be a home for you. You can make it look as homey as you can. Sounds good to me that doesn't mean we're still not your parents of course not I said looking at my new mother, so did Riley, so did Annalise and Zoe well just get settled as good as you can afterward your brother and Scarlet want us to meet an ion to have big family dinner there instead of in our house celebrate having Annelise and other things right we settled into our little home a little house the three of us three sisters Zoe wasn't our sister completely but we loved her like one. It was wonderful. I heard Zoe say Annalise do you like playing tea party? I never had but I do like tea she says oh Annalise will play tea parties with us too Zoe yay play tea party with Zoe. Oh yes, Annelise said laughing I play tea party with you, Zoe I love her so much I know right I said, and she's just the most adorable child.

I can't believe she had such evil parents Annalise said to me I know right? Why do we have to have such evil parents? It's our blood Annelise said that is true I said, I guess that's true and if we kept those tattoos, we probably would've been the same you and Zoe I never had a tattoo Annelise said of course, right our house was looking great we had everything mom make sure that and we did the pulley rope and the furniture came down into our rooms and looked great. We help Zoe with hers. She had her bed and everything she didn't have to share a bed with me anymore which was a nice, nice comfy bed for me she said Baby Zoe, I said tickling her now we can be tea sisters yay me too said Annalise as she came and tickled Zoe to Zoe Diggle. I never thought I would have a little sister and a half-sister like you Riley. I have everything I want pretty much well yes, we have a big family and big family to take care of yes, and the twins, I think Luther and Scarlett would love for us to help even though they have Claire they'll need us to know. Yes, they probably don't want Claire to watch the twins all the time they want their aunties, too well the two of us at least laughed. Zoe laughed too. I play with twins yes and asked to I love that I love it very much I love it me too family forever.

I love both of you Annalise said I love you too. I said me too said Zoe and Zoe will get to grow up. Happy and healthy and safe. That sounds great. She deserves it. I heard half of her story so sad it is I never got to hear it all until my time it's so sad, but we need to stop thinking sad things and get ready for happy things with a new family and the wedding and even though it's sad, but happy the destruction of that awful empire yes down with Volder up with a new age for the master's council. yes, of course, and my brother will take it. Of course, he will him and Scarlet will probably sit on the council together. That'll be great and one day I will, too, yes that's what I heard you'll be the new master of healing. Annalise said that would be wonderful something new on the council we have a future to look forward to even if so, even if Sol is still out there, maybe we could still be free from him a little he'll probably be weekend at least and we'll be able to set up everything before he could take over again that would be nice rather wants to start a guild will be in. It will be his guild masters. That would be great but we're too young that's true. Well, maybe we can be mages. That would be fun. Me too. You too young Zoe one day when you get bigger yes, you and Ash will also be in the guild, you learn magic too and it'll be great for you too. You and the twins will learn magic as well. I'm in my first chapter 1 here well, not the first chapter because the prologue is the first chapter but the first chapter after the prologue here I think it's a good place to stop next time everyone's going on an outing again at the park.
