Spider-Man (Spectacular Spider-Man/Marvel) swung above the streets of New York City as he chased Griffin (Marvel).
"Come on Griffin" taunted Spider-Man as he shot a web from his web shooter "You can't go on a crime spree just because the Avengers aren't here"
Griffin only snarled in agitation as it dodged the assault of webs.
Just another normal day in New York City.
Ever since the Fantastic 4 gained their powers and Tony Stark returned from his hostage situation overseas, the Big Apple has been a center of activity in the Super-Human community. And one such activity was the constant sight of one web crawling hero defending the people from various sorts of criminals.
Peter Parker was once a normal student genius until a run-of-the-mill field trip resulted in being bitten by a radioactive spider. With this incident and with the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter turned his powers to crime fighting under his personal words 'With Great Power comes Great Responsibility'. And Spider-Man tussled with many of Queens many super criminals. Tombstone and his assorted augmented enforcers. Doctor Octopus and his various roster of the Sinister Six. And his mortal enemy, the Green Goblin, also known as the father of Peter's best friend Harry Osborn.
"Oh right" mocked Spider-Man "You don't smack talk. So let me teach you the first part"
Spider-Man webbed up Griffin's wings then pounced straight over him, literally smacking the creature into the pavement. Griffin quickly recovered and swiped at Spider-Man. But Spider-Man quickly caught the clawed hand and webbed up the arm with it and slammed it into a light pole. With Griffin momentarily confused, Peter quickly webbed the other arm to Griffin's torso and his legs to the ground underneath. All Griffin could do was struggle as it tried to free itself.
"Man, Kraven should be taking lessons from me" teased Spider-Man before his Spider Sense went off. He looked up and saw a S.H.I.E.L.D. (Marvel) aircraft slowly land above.
"And that's my cue" said Spider-Man as he shot a web and sling away.
Peter landed on a rooftop as he watched the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents apprehend Griffin. Ever since a month ago, S.H.I.E.L.D. had been breathing down the necks of every superhero in their spit range. Peter just shook his head as he reached into his bag and pulled out both an everything bagel and a newspaper. He pulled his mask above his mouth as he ate his lunch, reading the newspaper in hand.
*Justice League and Avengers officially missing after one month. Super Villain Crime surge overtaking New York*
Peter mentally frowned as he read that.
Indeed, it had been one month since the Justice League's Watchtower vanished over Earth, the vast majority of the Justice League and the Avengers with it. When the Watchtower's civilian crew arrived on Earth in Javelins telling anyone who could help that the Avengers were attacking the League with a small army of Iron Legion drones, no one could even respond when the Watchtower disappeared.
There were only questions from then. Why did the Avengers attack the Justice League? How did the Watchtower vanish? Were the two events related? And was someone pulling the strings?
Peter wished he could do more, but nothing he looked into bared fruit. He got no emergency protocol afterwards, unlike when Kang the Conqueror caused the Avengers to disappear. When he looked around Avenger's Mansion, he saw no sign of a struggle or even a breach in security.
And the worse part was that Peter couldn't even look into it any further. With the Avengers gone, crime rose. The rogue galleries of the Avengers and the League took advantage of their disappearance in a heart beat. With Spider-Man's own villains, Peter's workload tripled as he kept New York safe. It didn't help that the Fantastic 4 went off world to look into the disappearance. And the X-Men were always too busy with Anti-Mutant propaganda to get involved with usual hero stuff.
Spider-Man was just about done with his lunch when he noticed one little article that briefly caught his eye.
*Renown Archeologist Jackie Chan discovers two gems of unknown origin during expedition in Japan. One donated to New York Museum of History while second was lent of loan to Rocket Scientist James Possible*
Spider-Man absorbed this information before getting up, stretching as he got ready to go back on patrol.
Before he could decide on a path, Peter heard a distinct sound of destructive disturbance that was quickly followed by sirens and people panicking.
"A heroes job is never done" said Peter as he quickly took off "I wonder if Metropolis is this chaotic"

Metropolis.
Supergirl floated above the courthouse as she watched the people enter through various doors.
It was the designated court date of Doctor Hamilton. One month ago Supergirl would have agreed to testified against the man out of spite for what the man did with her trust. But now, it was the least of Kara's concerns.
Kara felt her phone buzzed as she pulled it out of her skirt pocket (If they do have pockets). She instinctively placed it by her ear as she answered.
"Speaking" said Kara said tiredly.
"Hey Kara, it's Babs" said the girl on the other end.
Kara smiled gently. Barbara Gordon, or Batgirl (DC), was one of Kara's best friends and a member of Batman's little crime fighting family. Like Kara, Batgirl and the other members of the Bat Family were up to their necks in responsibilities. Gotham tried to take advantage of Batman's absence, but others kept it cleaned. Well, as cleaned as Gotham got.
"Hey Babs" said Kara, her mood lifting slightly "Things going okay in Gotham?"
"Surprisingly yes" said Batgirl "It was rough at first, but me and Tim have been keeping everyone at bay"
"Is Dick helping?" asked Kara.
"Sometimes" said Batgirl "He's got his Titans duties on top of his Gotham duties. The Teen Titans already have their own villains, so other villains are making him cranky"
Kara snickered. If Batgirl was using words like 'duty' and 'cranky', things couldn't be too bad.
"Besides" said Batgirl solemnly "A certain red head is keeping the crooks in their apartments"
"You aren't that scary Babs" said Kara teasingly.
"Wasn't talking about me Kara" said Batgirl.
"Something I should know about?" asked Kara.
"Another time" said Batgirl "How are things are your end?"
Kara groaned "Their are many things on my end. Even with Luthor behind bars, Kal's other bozos aren't giving me a moment to relax"
"Sounds rough" said Batgirl "And Hamilton's hearing?"
"I'm keeping an eye out" said Kara.
"Is that necessary?" asked Batgirl.
"He was Cadmus's number two Babs" said Kara "And with all these people here, anything could happen"
It was true. While none of Hamilton's Cadmus associates were testifying, others had been called forward. Mostly scientists and employees of Star Labs. Those that Hamilton didn't bring into Cadmus weren't happy that one of their own was using Star Lab technology and facilities for espionage and murder. Especially with the Galatea Clone and the Ultimen being used as weapons.
"Well I just thought I called to see how you were doing" said Batgirl "Take care Kara. And remember you're not alone"
"Thanks Babs" Kara said before she hung up. With the call over, Kara sighed heavily.
A whole month and nothing.
Kara couldn't believe it when the Watchtower disappeared before her eyes. She knew it was by Boom Tube. That noise was annoying and hard to forget. But she got nothing when she checked in with Highfather and the other New Gods. Apokolips made no new moves since Granny Goodness tried to free Kalibak using Mister Miracle. And she knew the New Gods weren't happy to hear that Orion (DC), one of their own, was among the many taken with the Watchtower.
Luckily, the civilian crew of the Watchtower were able to escape, but what they told Supergirl didn't please her. The Avengers wouldn't just attack their fellow Superheroes for no reason. And the fact that this happened around the same time as the Watchtower disappearing made less sense.
With the Watchtower and the League gone, Kara had no team mates to help her with the rise of crime that's occurring. And the Fortress of Solitude was no Watchtower.
Kara had no clue what she was to do.

Metropolis Courthouse.
James Possible (Kim Possible) held up his phone as he talked to his daughter, taking his seat in the courtroom.
"So how are things over in London Kimmie-Cub?" asked Doctor Possible.
"Dad, I told mom last night" said Kim Possible (Kim Possible) on the phone's screen "I got home this morning"
"You did?" questioned Doctor Possible.
"Whoops" said Kim's mother, Dr. Ann Possible (Kim Possible) next to her husband "Sorry Kimmie, but your father was so invested in his new project that we couldn't get him to focus on anything else"
"New project?" asked Kim.
"Oh it's incredible Kimmie-Cub!" said Kim's dad "My colleagues are calling it the wonder material from space! We're calling it Isotope 8"
"So what does this stuff do?" asked Kim.
"It does so much" said Kim's dad giddily "When I received it, I placed it by my phone for 5.3 seconds and it's suddenly at 500%"
"Wow" Kim said.
"That's nothing" said Kim's dad "We've been testing this stuff on many things back in the lab and it's been miraculous"
"Geez mom" said Kim teasingly "How'd you get Dad out of his room?"
"Because we were asked to come here" said Kim's mom "Dr. Hamilton was an associate of your dad. This is important Kimmie"
"Well I'll hang up before the trial starts" said Kim "Bye guys"
"Love you Kimmie!" said both her parents as Kim hung up. If Kim was there in person, she would be pulling her hair over her face.
"You seem to be enjoying your family life"
The Possibles turned and smiled when they saw the white haired woman sitting next to James Possible.
"Well I'll be darned" said James as he shook the woman's hand "They called you too Nora?"
The woman, Nora Wakeman (My Life as a Teenage Robot/MLAATR) simply smiled. "Yes, they dragged me out of the lab for this. But I can't approve of Emil's activities outside of his lab"
"I agree" said James Possible sternly.
"But on a lighter note, how are things with you're family?" Nora asked.
"Well my sons are a chip off the old block" said James proudly "As for my baby girl, she just graduated recently and has been taking a trip around the world with her boyfriend. And I hear she's been doing good deeds here and there"
"You two must be very proud" said Nora.
"Oh thank you Nora" said Ann "Speaking of, I've been hearing good things about you're daughter"
"Why thank you" said Nora "Just don't tell her that. She'll get a swelled cranium"
The three conversed as the courtroom filled up. Among the room were fellow Star Labs scientist Silas Stone (DC), news reporter Lois Lane (DC) and photographer Jimmy Olsen (DC) from the Daily Planet, Sea Captain Bibbo Bibbowski (DC), Head of Metropolis Special Crimes Unit Maggie Sawyer (DC), and secretly, former head of Cadmus, Amanda Waller (DC), who came incognito.
Amanda Waller, unlike Hamilton, was able to escape scrutiny and wasn't apprehended. She didn't come to testify or defend Hamilton. Honestly, she came to see if there were secretly any connection between Hamilton and the incident a month ago. It couldn't be a coincidence that the League vanished the same night Galatea was being escorted.
So until the trial started, Waller kept herself amused by listening to the Possible couple and Dr. Wakeman conversing.

Metropolis Courtroom Parking Lot
Outside the Courtroom, a unique vehicle pulled in, taking up more room than one car should.
Inside the car, was the Half Ghost hero from Amity Park.
"Dad, is it okay to park here?" asked Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom (Danny Phantom) to his father.
"Sure son" said Jack Fenton (Danny Phantom) "This place should be used to Hi-Tech vehicles, the Fenton Family Ghost Assault Vehicle shouldn't stand out"
Danny just furrowed his brow as he looked over to his friends and sister. Sam Manson (Danny Phantom) and Tucker Foley (Danny Phantom) only shrugged as Jazz Fenton (Danny Phantom) placed a hand over her face.
"Now Danny" said Danny' mom, Maddie Fenton (Danny Phantom) "Jury duty excuses no one"
"Dad was the only one called" Jazz pointed out "Why are you here mom?"
"Because your father isn't allowed in a courtroom without me" said Maddie stoically.
"Then why are we here?" asked Danny.
"Well we noticed you've been hiding yourself up sweetie" said Maddie concernedly "We thought it would be good for you to relax for a bit"
Danny simply stayed silent. Since he revealed his identity after the Disasteroid incident, Danny never got much time to himself anymore. When he wasn't hunting ghosts or alluding ghost hunters, Danny never went out anymore out of annoyance from running into someone who wanted to meet Danny Phantom.
"Well we'll be back kids" said Jack "Feel free to look around while we're gone"
"But keep your phones on you" said Maddie "Jazz, you're in charge"
Without another word, the Fentons left the FFGAV and proceeded to head to court.
"Are you okay Danny?" asked Sam.
"I'm fine" said Danny.
"Come on dude" said Tucker "You haven't been yourself since you revealed your identity"
"That's the thing Tucker" said Danny "Ever since then, things have become so different. I mean it's great that mom and dad aren't trying to dissect me anymore and that the whole town loves me. But it's become so suffocating. There's usually always a crowd outside the house now and people are actually targeting my family now. It's just-"
"Danny" interrupted Sam as she place her hands over her boyfriend's shoulders "We know this has been a lot for you. Just please know that we'll always be by your side"
"She's right Danny" said Jazz sweetly "We'll always have your back, no matter what"
"As your oldest friend" said Tucker "I can agree with that 100%"
Danny smiled "Thanks guys. I'm lucky to have you guys"
"Now I'm not sure about you guys, but I wanna see if there's a burger joint around here" said Tucker as Sam rolled her eyes.
"Typical" said Sam "We're in Metropolis, home town of Superman, and all you can think about is food"
"Hey Superman isn't here" said Tucker.
"That is concerning" said Danny as he pondered that.
"Are you thinking of getting involved?" asked Jazz.
"And do what?" asked Danny "This is a bit over my head. And I can go for a burger"
"My man" said Tucker as he and Danny high-five.
"Boys" said Sam.
"You said it" said Jazz.

Earth's Orbit
Ben Tennyson (Ben 10) stretched his arms as Rook Blonko (Ben 10) piloted the Rustbucket 3 towards Earth.
"Man I missed Earth" said Ben "Can't wait to get back to heroing"
"I don't believe that is a word Ben" said Rook.
"Yeah that sounds like you're trying to say herring" said Kevin Levin (Ben 10) "Or Heroin"
"Or Heroine" said Gwen Tennyson (Ben 10) from her seat next to Ben "Besides you were doing a lot of 'heroing' during our galaxy road trip. What'd you call that?"
"Just being awesome" said Ben smugly as his cousin/best friend/partner groaned/rolled their eyes.
After Ben stopped Maltruant and saved the Universe, he and his team took a summer wide road trip around space. They visited several different galaxies and ran into many friends. Not to mention saving a planet or two.
"Well before anything happens, I'm gonna stop at Mister Smoothies and-"
Ben paused. He stayed silent for several seconds.
"Ben?" asked Gwen.
"Geez Tennyson" said Kevin "Is just thinking of smoothies giving you a brain freeze?"
"It's Gone"
"What's gone?" Rook asked Ben.
"The Tower" said Ben as he got out of his seat "The Justice League Watchtower is gone!"
The others looked over and indeed, the Watchtower was gone.
"What did they blow it up again?" asked Kevin.
"Kevin" said Gwen sternly.
Before more could be said, the monitor on the deck turned on, Max Tennyson (Ben 10) appearing on the screen.
"Hey kids" said Max.
"Grandpa" said Ben and Gwen in unison.
"Grandpa, we just came back and the Justice League Watchtower is gone!" said Ben in alarm.
"That's old news Ben" said Max "And I'll fill you in on this later. But right now you all came back at a good time"
"What's the situation Magister Tennyson?" asked Rook.
"Several days ago, a unique crystal substance was discovered in Japan. It's origins are from space however" explained Max "The Plumbers thought it was a myth, but we can't deny we what discovered. Two fragments were taken to America. One to a museum in New York. And one to a scientist in Middleton. But we believe there are more in Japan"
"So where's the urgency in all this?" asked Kevin.
"3 hours ago, a stealth ship landed in Japan" said Max seriously "We only found out about this half an hour ago"
"Do you know the ship's origins?" asked Rook.
"Bounty Hunters, mercenaries?" asked Ben.
"We don't know" said Max "But I need someone to look into this while I lead a team to New York's museum to acquire the crystal substance there"
"Okay Grandpa" said Ben "We'll handle this"
"Thanks Ben" said Max as he smiled "And I can't wait to hear how you're summer went"
The monitor turned off as Ben turned to Gwen and Kevin.
"Rook and I can drop you two off before we head to Japan"
"As if Tennyson" said Kevin "This sounds too interesting to pass up"
"Which means you want to get a piece of this mysterious stuff for yourself" said Gwen sternly. Kevin just rubbed the back of his head.
"Alright" said Ben "Rook, take us to Japan"
"At once" said Rook as he piloted the Rustbucket 3 around the Earth.

Higurashi Shrine
Kagome Higurashi (Inuyasha) wrote intensely into her workbook as she tried to make up her school work.
Many on Earth are responsible for a lot of feats. But not many could say they did their deeds exclusively in the past.
When Kagome was pulled into the her family well, The Bone Eater's Well, by a demon centipede, it would never occur to her that it would lead her to go on a wild quest in the Feudal Era of Japan.
Sadly, going on a quest in the past meant it killed her time in the modern era. Kagome was always behind on school work and it didn't help that her grandfather was always making farfetched excuses for her. But now was one of the rare times Kagome could take a break from looking for Jewel Shards and catch up on her modern tasks.
Or she could if it wasn't for the fact that a certain someone behind her was bothering her.
Inuyasha (Inuyasha) was nonchalantly messing with the family cat as the cat's meowing kept Kagome from focusing.
"Inuyasha!" shouted Kagome in annoyance "Can't you just wait for me in the past?!"
"Heh" retorted Inuyasha "And be bothered by the twerp Shippo till you came back. No thank you"
"UGH!" groaned Kagome as she slammed her head against her deck,
"Kagome"
Kagome and Inuyasha turned as Kagome's mother, Mama Higurashi (Inuyasha), opened the door.
"Grandpa just came back and he wanted to show you something" said Kagome's mother kindly.
"..." Kagome sighed in frustration "Fine, not like I can concentrate anyways" Kagome got out of her seat as she followed her mom "Inuyasha just stay here"
"Whatever" said Inuyasha as he rested against Kagome's bed.
When Kagome came downstairs, she saw her Grandpa Higurashi (Inuyasha) and younger brother Sota Higurashi (Inuyasha) waiting for her.
"What's up Grandpa?" asked Kagome.
"Kagome" started her Grandpa "Several days ago, I was asked to accompany the nephew of a friend of mine from America while he was exploring a dig site. And I found something incredible!"
"What a Kappa's claw" said Kagome in a deadpanned manner.
"Even better" said Grandpa as he pulled out a white crystal. For a second, Kagome thought it was a Jewel Shard, but she didn't feel anything. It did however gave off a sense of power.
"Incredible isn't it" said Grandpa as he showed off the crystal "The young lad who dug it up took two pieces with him to America, but he let me keep this piece"
"It's really cool sis" said Sota "They pieces taken to America were sad to be incredible. Scientist guys were interested in them"
"And you want something like that here?" asked Kagome.
"Says the girl who brings sacred Shikon Jewel Shards through the house willy nilly" countered her Grandpa.
"Alright Grandpa" said Mama Higurashi "It's almost lunch time. Now Kagome, will Inuyasha be joining us?"
"Well-"
CRASH!
Before anyone could respond, the front of the house was broken down as rubble came down. Kagome pulled Sota away from the door as Mama Higurashi did the same for grandpa. Kagome shield her brother as she looked at the door. Through the dust, she could register three figures hovering on the other side.

New York Museum.
The Museum visitors fled the interior of the museum as museum security laid on the ground, half unconscious, the other half in pain.
Spider-Man quickly approached the nearest guard on the ground.
"What happened?" asked Spider-Man.
"Three people came in and attacked us" said the guard weakly as he sat up.
"Are you alright?" asked Spider-Man.
"We're fine" grunted the guard "But their after the Iso-8!"
"Okay" said Spider-Man "Try to recover and get as many people out of here"
"Will do" said the guard as he got up and approached his nearest co-worker.
Spider-Man quickly ran to where the Iso-8 was being displayed. Not even a minute later, Peter found the room.
"Hold it" said Spider-Man as he took in these intruders. There were three of them, holding axes and maces as they flew off the ground.

Metropolis Courthouse Interior.
"Emil Hamilton" said the Judge as he overlooked the man below him "You have pleaded guilty?"
"I do" said Emil Hamilton (DC). The man was thin and pale. Isolation did the man no favors.
The Judge looked over to the Jury where Jack Fenton (Who was somehow made Head Juror) nodded back.
"Very well" said the Judge Sternly "Professor Emil Hamilton. You are sentenced to-AAAGH!"
Without warning, a cloaked figure had somehow appeared behind the Judge and electrocuted him with surprisingly an axe. Panic erupted in the courtroom as all eyes turned towards the cloaked attacker before noticing more cloaked figures coming out the the room's doorways. The more level headed stayed calm as they kept their bearings. The Possibles stayed close to each other as James Possible pressed a button installed exclusively on his phone while Nora Wakeman sent a distress signal through her arm band.
"Now then" said the cloaked attacker as she removed her cloak, her associates following her lead. Many in the room recognized what these people were at least.

"Tell us" said Paran Dul (DC) as she flew over the crowd "Which one of you has this Iso-8?"

Thanagarians attacking on three points. How will our heroes respond.
