( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡) Starting today, I'm going to college as a freshman. I've only been able to post chapters weekly because of my summer break. So, until I post another chapter (sooner or later), thank you for reading this. May God bless you all, and have a wonderful day.
February 26th-8:30 a.m.-U.A. High School-
Izuku ran with determination toward the gates of his dream school. As he reached the building, he came to a halt and stood before the entrance, ready to take the standard entrance exam. "I made it just in time," he muttered.
Wearing his junior high uniform, he took a deep breath, tried calming his nerves, and continued walking. "This is it. After all this time training, this is my time to shine…But..why can't I help but feel nervous…?"
He couldn't help but think back on his intense training to harness the power of One For All. It was all thanks to Tekkan's invaluable advice and the guidance of All Might. Ever since the start of the month, he had been working tirelessly to gain better control over his Quirk. But he knew that he had only scratched the surface of his potential.
The green-haired teen felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and stopped. Izuku briefly wondered who texted him.
"Probably Mom wishing good luck again." He guessed. But as he checked his messages, he discovered it was from All Might and Tekkan.
Mr. Yagi: (8:31 a.m.) I AM HERE! WISHING YOU THE BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR EXAM!
Teks: (8:31 a.m.) What's up, Izuku! Just wanted to send you some last-minute tips before your big exam. 1. Stay focused 2. Trust in your abilities 3. Believe in yourself.
The One for All Quirk user smiled warmly, grateful for their support. "Thank you, you guys." He said softly and texted back to thank them.
"Stupid Deku."
Izuku gaps, quickly pocketing his phone, and turns around to see Katsuki approaching him with a frown, pocketing his hands. He wore the same uniform as him but with a beige scarf.
"Kacchan!" The green-haired teen mutters.
"Get out my way, now, before I set you on fire." The Explosion Quirk user warned, walking by him.
A few nearby students recognized him and muttered among themselves.
"I think that's one of the kids that who withstood the sludge villain. His name's Bakugo, right?" A student commented. His peer replied, "Yeah, he's the real deal."
Izuku sighed. "Guess old habits never die, and he's the living proof. But…" He turned to watch him enter the building. "Ever since that day, Kacchan's been taking it easier on me and even Teks."
The One for All Quirk user shook his head, refocusing on why he was here as he looked up at the 'U.A.' logo above the school's door. "But I'm not defenseless anymore. Yeah. I have to remember all the work I've put in. Thanks to my idol and my friend!"
But then, from the corner of his eyes, the green-haired teen spotted a young girl with a curvy figure, pale skin, big brown round eyes, shoulder-length brown hair with short bangs and two long strands beside her face. Her outfit included a brown hoodie, black jeans, matching shoes, a pink scarf, and a black backpack.
Izuku realized he had been staring at her and looked away, blushing at her appearance.
"Woah!" She tripped on the crack in the ground, losing her footing.
In an instant, Izuku reached a hand out to grab the girl by her arm, pulling her back up before she could fall to the ground. They looked into each other's eyes and blushed heavily before they separated.
"I-I am so sorry!" Izuku apologized, taking a few steps back and bowing multiple times before her.
The brown-haired teen giggled at his apologies. "There's no need. You saved me from falling. If anything I should've paid more attention so thanks! Still kinda nervous."
The One for All Quirk user stood up and calmed down. "I-I mean, it was nothing. I just did the right thing. A-Anyway, I should be getting inside for this exam. C-can't let fear stop me, right?" He said while shuttering.
"O-Oh sorry. I'm I-Izuku M-Midoriya." He added, offering a shakey hand.
The brown-haired teen shook it back. "I'm Ochako Uraraka, but guess I'll see you inside. Bye!" She waved before walking to the U.A.'s doors.
Izuku kept gazing at her while realization started to sink in. "Holy whoa, I just talked to a girl my age!" He began to laugh a little hysterically in front of other students, feeling a mix of pride and joy. "hAAhAhAha."
Chp 8 - One Destination... U.A.!
Five Minutes Later- Auditorium-
Izuku stops in front of the auditorium, reading a sign titled "Exam Orientation.' "I guess this is where I go." He figured, shrugging.
The One for All Quirk user entered the large lecture room and saw an empty seat in the middle rows. He took off his bag and sat down next to Katsuki. All the seats in the auditorium have a blank test booklet on their foldable desks.
"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" a calm and composed voice asked.
Izuku turned his left to face a tall, well-built boy with metallic silver-colored skin. His yellow-colored eyes looked down at him at a height almost equal to his Saiyan friend. He wore a dark charcoal jacket that was unzipped, and underneath, he wore a white shirt, a crimson tie, dark gray dress pants, silver shoes, and an orange backpack.
Izuku quickly replied, shaking his head and gesturing to the empty seat beside him. "N-no no no no, i-it's not taken. F-Feel free to sit here."
The metallic sliver-haired teen nodded and took the seat. "Thank you," he said with a slight smile.
Her right hand extended towards Izuku. "The name's Xandeki Ribbon," he introduced himself with a slight nod.
"Izuku Midoriya," the green-haired teen replied, shaking Xandeki's hand.
All the seats were full in seconds, and the headlights were shut off before the stage lights lit up. A massive flat screen with the 'U.A.' logo was shown.
Present Mic walks on the podium and greets them with a big simile. "What's up, U.A. candidates? Thanks for tunin' in for me, your school D.J. C'mon. And lemme hear ya!" He then cups an ear to his audience, waiting for a response.
But all he heard was silence, which didn't faze him as much.
"Keeping it Mello, huh? That's fine. I'll skip straight to the sideshow. Let's dive into the written test first!"
The monitor switched to a countdown clock, and the middle students started writing their names on their booklets. "You have two hours to finish the written test before we go on to the main show!… START RIGHT NOW!" He announced.
As the countdown started, those like Izuku and Katsuki opened their tests and started.
Two Hours Later-
"TIME'S UP! DROP YA PENCILS OR PENS!"
Izuku sighed deeply as he closed his booklet and put his pen away in his bag. "Just in the nick of time."
He looked at the Explosion Quirk user on his right and saw him with his hands behind his head, looking bored already.
Next, he looked to his left side to see Xandeki with his arms folded in front of his knees, patiently waiting.
"Now that's outta the way, it's time for the main show. Let's talk about how this practical exam will go down, okay?
The U.A. teacher then raised a fist in the air! "Are you ready!? Yeah!" Once again, silence was all he got for an answer.
Yet, Izuku couldn't help but mutter his excitement as his eyes shined. "Oh my goodness, it's the Voice Hero, Present Mic. So cool! I listen to his radio show every day of the week! It's so crazy nuts that all the U.A. teachers are pro heroes!"
"Will you shut up?" Katsuki grumbled with his arms crossed over his chest.
"As your application said, today, you rockin' boys and girls will be out there conducting ten-minute mock battles in super-hip urban settings." Present Mic explains that the T.V. screen displays groups, represented by letters from 'A' to 'G.' "Gird your loins, my friends. After I drop the mic here, you'll head to your specified battle center. Sound good? Okay?"
Katsuki, Izuku, and Xandeki pulled out their cards from under their booklets to see where they were going. But the former didn't take long to point out the testing method.
"I see. They're splitting us up, so we can't work with any of our friends from your school." He stated. Izuku peeked at Katsuki's ticket, which displayed the letter 'A.'
The green-haired teen looked back at his card with the letter B.
"Our examinee numbers are one after the other, but we're assigned to different battle centers." Izuku realized this after comparing their examinee cards.
But Katsuk caught on to how he figured this out. "Get your eyes off my card." He growled at him, causing the OFA user to flinch slightly back.
"Damn. I was really looking forward to crushing you." The sandy blond-haired teen scoffed, irritated.
"Okay, okay. Let's check out your targets." Present Mic continued speaking.
On each corner of the screen, a city was displayed with four robot-like silhouettes surrounding it. One was worth one point, or '1P', another two points, or '2P', and the third three points, or '3P'.
"There are three types of faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points based on their difficulty level, so better choose wisely. Your goal in this trial is to use your Quirk to raise your score by shredding these faux villains like a mid-song guitar solo." Present Mic then pointed at the crowd.
"But, check it! Make sure you keep'n things heroic. Attacking other examinees is a U.A. no-no, ya dig?"
"Seems fair enough. That way, you won't lose any points if you're attacked." The green-haired teen assumed.
Then, a participant stood up a few rows in front of them. "Excuse me, sir. But I have a question," the candidate said with a raised hand.
"Hit me!" The spotlight flashed over the speaker, a tall boy with a wide frame, short dark blue hair, and matching square eyes under rectangular glasses. He's dressed in a tan business suit with a blue tie. He lifted the exam's printout and pointed to the fourth robot.
"On the printout, you've listed four types of villains, not three. With all due respect, if this is an error on official U.A. materials, it is shameful. " The blue-haired teen lowered his arm.
"We are exemplary students. We expect the best from Japan's most notable school. A mistake such as this won't do," the candidate explained professionally.
He then turns around to face Izuku, pointing at him. "Additionally, you with the unkempt hair."
"Huh?" Izuku pointed at himself, confused.
"You've been muttering this entire time. Stop that!" He scolds." If you can't bother to take this seriously, then leave! You're distracting the rest of us!"
Izuku covered his mouth, embarrassed. "I'm sorry..." He apologized with a slight bow. Some of the audience started to snicker at his behavior.
"Alright, alright." The Voice Quirk user motions them to quiet down. "Examinee Number 7-1-1-1, Thanks for calling in with your request." He replied to him with a thumbs up.
"The fourth villain type is worth zero points. That guy's just an obstacle we'll be throwing in your way. There's one in every battle center. Think of it as a hurdle you should try to avoid. It's not that it can't be beaten, but there's... kinda no point. I recommend my listeners to try to ignore it and focus on the ones toppin' the charts." Present Mic explained to everyone.
"Thank you very much. Please continue." The blue-haired teen bowed at the pro hero, retaking his seat. The spotlight above him turns off.
"That's all I got for you today." The Voice Quirk user concluded to his audience. "I'll sign off with a little present. A sample of our school motto! As General Napoleon Bonaparte once laid down. 'A true hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes.' Mm-hm, now that's a tasty sound byte. You ready to go beyond? Let's hear a PLUS ULTRA!"
As for Izuku, he looks at his ticket with a smile.
The massive motto flashed on the screen: "Good luck! I hope you practice hitting more than just books."
The lights inside came on, and all participants stood up, took their belongings, and exited from their rows to leave the large lecture room.
Thirty Minutes Later- Battle Center B-
A huge bus came to a halt in front of a massive gate. The assigned candidates left the vehicle, admiring the structure before them. For this exam, each teen was dressed in their most comfortable clothes.
Almost all the examinees gasped at the sheer size of the Battle Center.
"This is nuts!" One participant exclaimed in shock.
Another one could only guess its size. "It's like, a whole city!"
"Can you imagine how much it cost to build this?" A different voice asked.
"U.A. is amazing!" Someone said, impressed.
Izuku, who wore his cyan tracksuit and red boots. Even now, with all that he had done to prepare himself for this moment, he still could not help but feel a little nervous.
"So this is it, huh? A mock battle." The One for All Quirk user began to look at some of the other students. "These guys don't look nervous at all. Some of them even have special gear." He noticed.
As he scanned the group, he caught sight of Ochako among the crowd, fanning herself with her left hand. "Hey, it's Uraraka! The girl I saved from falling."
The green-haired teen started walking over to her, but rather awkwardly. "I should probably check on her. See if she needs any type of motiva-"
Just as Izuku was close enough to her, he felt a hand on his left shoulder.
"Huh?" He turned around to see the same glasses teen from earlier but with revealing engine-shaped calves with six exhaust pipes sticking out from each leg in three columns.
"He's here too?!" Izuku yelps.
He took notice of Ochako taking deep breaths from afar. "She looks like she's trying to focus on the trails ahead. What are you going to do? Distract her and ruin her chances to succeed?" The glasses-wearer asked.
Izuku waved his hands frantically in defense. "No, no, no, of course not."
To his relief, the green-haired teen felt someone tap his left shoulder and turned around to see Xandeki. He wore a silver-gray tank top with crimson circuit patterns found on it. It also pairs with matching training shorts and silver gloves with matching circuit patterns.
The metallic sliver-haired teen focused on the blue-haired one. "It's okay. I'll take it from here if you wish."
The glasses wearer looked unsure but nodded, leaving those two be, walking away towards the gate.
Xandeki patted Izuku on the right shoulder. "Midoriya, you can ease up a little. Getting nervous during this exam won't help you in the long run," he said.
The One for All Quirk user sighed with a nod. "Yeah, you're probably right about that one."
Then, the city district replica doors suddenly opened, leaving candidates either confused or dumbfounded.
"RIGHT, LET'S START!" Everyone turned their attention to Present Mic, who stood atop a massive metal tower, looking down at the participants. "Get moving! There are no countdowns in real battles!"
"Wait…where's Ribbon?!" Izuku turned his attention to Xandeki, who had already dashed off past him and the others inside. "He's already off!"
But the One for All Quirk user didn't waste a minute and activated his Quirk. "He's right! In battle, the time it takes to act is vital! I have to go now!"
"Run, run, run, listeners! You're wasting airtime here. See, now we got two kids far ahead!" The Voice Quirk user shouted out. The remaining candidates were taken back and turned towards the gate to see Izuku taking off.
It didn't take long for them to rush in after, but all they saw ahead of them were streaks of green electricity. Izuku then decided to cut to the right in an alley to find robots elsewhere, away from the crowd behind him.
"Alright, Izuku. Time to put ten months of training with All Might and Tekkan to the test. This time, I'll give it my all to become a hero. Just like I always dreamed. I won't let myself down!"
He came upon a bunch of villain bots shattered all over the place. Izuku dashed to the closest 1-pointer as his opponent stretched his left arm out to strike the teen.
But the One for All Quirk user ducked under it as he reeled back his right arm to deliver a "10% DETRIOT SMAAASH!" at the machine in its chest.
The attack blew it away, crashing it into a 2-pointer, which destroyed it too. "They're not that hard to destroy, so using 10% or less is more than enough! And that's 3 points!" He smirked with pride.
Then, the green-haired teen heard something in the sky. He saw three 3-pointers firing multiple missiles at him from the top of a building. "A-Are those missiles!?"
But Izuku took a deep breath and counted ten missiles heading his way. Instead of trying to dodge them, he crossed his arms over his face to block them. Then, the rockets denoted on contact, resulting in a small-scale explosion that engulfed both ends of the alleyway in smoke.
As the smoke began to clear, the silhouette of Izuku emerged from the haze, his body covered in his aura. His tracksuit is slightly burned off, and his forearms sting a little. "Phew…"
The One for All Quirk user looked ahead to see two more missiles, and he grabbed them both. With a frontflip, he threw them back at two 2-pointers, which exploded. "That's six points."
Izuku landed on the ground and looked up four more 3-pointers. "After them, that'll be 18."
Unfazed, he dashed forward, catching his opponents off guard. "You won't stop me!" The green-haired teen roared out through the alley as he reeled back his fists.
A green electric blur was all that could be seen as he continued to punch each of them down. The ground trembled beneath them as the villain bots crumbled before him in seconds.
"Heh, not bad." Izuku said, exhaling, flexing his fingers on his hands. "Better get to high ground if I want to spot more of them."
Green bioelectricity burst from his feet as he ran up the fire escape of a nearby building. There was another 2-pointer already aiming at him before Izuku soared in and dropkicked it off the roof.
Izuku kiped up back on his feet before squatting down at the roof's edge, viewing his surroundings. "To think U.A. built all of this." He praised and admired the entire testing field.
It didn't take long for him to catch sight of a 1-pointer out in the open. The green-haired teen dove to the ground, front rolling to break his fall before standing up.
The villain bot moved in to attack the student. "Target acquired. Commencing attack!" The machine declared.
Suddenly, a blue laser flew right in front, blasting the 1-pointer to pieces. "Got him!"
"What the?! Who did that?" Izuku asked in shock, looking around as he spotted a candidate standing across the street. "A laser?"
He was a slim boy with slightly long blonde hair, long eyelashes, and bright indigo eyes, giving him the appearance of a young prince. His golden ring-shaped belt buckle lights up, signaling where the laser fired from.
"Merci Beaucoup. We make a great team with you as my decoy," the blonde-haired teen said in a French accent. "Although I won't be seeing you too much in the future," he gave the green-haired teen a wink as Izuku deactivated his Quirk.
"Adieu!" He then ran in another direction, confusing the OFA Quirk user. "What does he mean by that?" he wondered.
Then the loudspeakers went off. "Six minutes and two seconds left." Present Mic stated loudly.
This caused Izuku to flinch a little in surprise. "Can't waste any more time. I need more points and fast!" Reactivating Full Cowling, running down the street where the Naval Laser Quirk user went.
Izuku then turns, running in and out of another alleyway, re-entering the streets. He stopped and spotted the aftermath of the fights with the villain bots and other candidates. "Where's more bots when you need it?!" He thought, searching as the streets were littered with destroyed bots.
As he searched, he gasped when he saw Ochako running through the surrounding area. "Her again!"
She touched two 3-pointers, and they began to float above her with her Quirk. She closed her fingers together before saying, "Release!"
The villain bots came crashing down on the street behind her. She breathes a sigh of relief after that. "Okay, that should be at least 28 points!" The Zero Gravity Quirk user estimated, running to another location.
"28 points?!" He exclaimed in shock. "That makes her 8 points ahead of me!"
The sky started to echo with whirring, which the green-haired teen picked up on. "What's that sound?" He asked himself, finally looking up as his eyes widened.
To his sight, two 1-pointers and a single 3-pointer levitated above him with jet thrusters under their metal legs to keep them in the air. "They fly now?!" He shouted in shock as each of them soared down towards him.
"Let's go." The OFA Quirk user said with a smirck and took his fighting stance. But suddenly, a surge of energy caught his attention.
"Huh?!" Yellow energy blasts streaked toward them and pieced through two of the bots as the last 3-pointer lunged at him, swinging his left arm to hit him.
But Izuku countered by jumping up, delivering an elbow strike to its midsection, and grabbed it by its mechanical head and slammed it into the ground, crushing it in a small crater. "23!" He counted in total.
The green-haired teen then locked eyes with that of Xandeki, who smiled at him.
On his right forearm is a six-inch-long and two-inch-diameter white cylindrical arm cannon with red circuit patterns and hexagonal energy emitters emitting a soft crimson glow.
"Is that R-Ribbon? His right arm looks different than before. A support item as a weapon?" He realized as he stood up.
The metallic sliver-haired teen pushed a button on his right glove's index finger, and with a pop, the arm cannon disappeared off his forearm. Izuku was slightly taken aback since the technology behind that was "similar to that of Capsules!"
"Looked like you needed assistance. Especially since you don't appear to be a long ranged fighter." He replied.
The OFA Quirk user nodded at him, matching his simile. "T-Thanks for your help, Ribbons."
"No problem. But it looks like many people are kicking things into high gear." Xandeki commented, his yellow eyes gazing at the nearby carnage and other participants like them fighting their own battles.
"So, how many points you go so far?" Izuked asked, raising an eyebrow.
The metallic sliver-haired teen replied with a shrug. "53 points. Hasn't been a problem defeating these villain bots. How many you ranked up?"
The OFA Quirk user responded in shock. "5-53?! That's so many!" But he still answered his question. "I have 23 points so far. I've been doing better than I thought. But finding the ones with the most points is easier to stay on top."
Xandeki nodded in agreement. "That is a wise strategy indeed, Midoriya."
But their conversation ended when they both heard the sound of an engine going off.
They turned to see the blue-haired teen using his Engine Quirk on his calves to jump and land a right front jump kick on a 2-pointer's neck with a grunt. "That puts me at 45!" He stated.
His statement took Izuku by surprise. "He has so many points!" Yet, he was able to see his Quirk in action. "I wonder how his speed fares against Teks if he were here."
"Well, you may want to get a move on before time runs out. Underwise, those like me will stay ahead of you," the metallic sliver-haired teen advises with a smirk before dashing away in a sliver blur on the left side of the street, leaving Izuku alone.
"Holy crap! He's fast too. Maybe faster than that glasses guy." Izuku rushed after him, green electricity cracking all over him.
Observation Room -
Back in U.A., teachers and other staff members sat in rows of seats in a dim room. In front of them are dozens of T.V. screens displaying a variety of students and their progress.
Principal Nazu sat among them, watching the students with interest. "Clearly, the examinees have no idea how many villains are present or their locations." He said, leaning back in his seat.
"They have limited time, must cover a vast area, and hunt down every last target. Some use information-gathering abilities to plan out strategies. While others rely on speed to pull ahead of their peers. Of course, remaining calm under pressure can be a huge advantage, as can pure power and combat ability. The most successful students use a combination of all these tactics. They're the ones who rack up the highest scores."
"Hmm, I'd say this year's group looks promising," a female voice said seductively.
One of the teachers watching was Toshinori himself. He wore a black suit, matching pants, white shoes, and a yellow tie as he glanced at a specific screen. The one on his own student who destroyed any villainous bots that stood in his way as he kept running in his Battle Center.
"I…I can't…BELIEVE IT!" Toshinori's jaw hung off his mouth, and his eyes were wide open, purely shocked to see his successor utilizing One for All in a manner he'd never seen. Izuku's reflexes, speed, strength, etc., are far beyond his old self when he left him in the hands of Tekkan to train him.
"Amazing, Young Midoirya! To think that right after I left with Young Tekkan, you were able to get a hold of using One For All safety! You are growing far faster than I thought! All before coming here!" He thought in pride, trying to keep his composer among his colleagues.
Another male voice spoke up. "Well, there's still plenty of time before it's over. The real test has yet to come. Let's see how they react.
Toshinori turned his head to face U.A.'s Principal. They exchanged nods before the OFA Quirk user leaned forward towards an open glass panel labeled 'Yaruki Switch.'
"Now things get interesting. A person's true character is revealed when they're faced with danger. Good luck, Young Midoriya," He then pushed the red button.
Same Time-Battle Center B-
The ground started to rumble, forcing all students, even Izuku, to stop moving before turning around to the source of these tremors. Large debris smoke filled the air as most either kept shaking in slight fear, gasped in shock, or looked confused.
Then, a silhouette overtowered half of the Battle Center. It was none other than the 0-pointer. The massive villain bot drove through the street from which it activated. It stood several meters tall with eight glowing red eyes on its mechanical head.
"I know this is U.A., but...isn't this a LITTLE extreme?!" The OFA Quirk user squealed in fear.
The massive villain bot raised its right arm before slamming its fist down to the ground before him, causing a large shockwave to erupt. All the examinees guarded themselves against that cloud of dust heading towards them as their screams echoed.
Once Izuku lowered his arms, nearly all the students reappeared from the debris cloud for him and used whatever they could to retreat, not daring to face the robot. Like the Engine Quirk user, who caught a glimpse of Izuku before he kept running,
The One for All Quirk user could only stand there, trying to figure out what to do as the villain bot moved in on him, slowly but surely. "There's no need to take on such a massive robot. I need to get outta here!"
"Let's than 2 minutes remaining!" Present Mic announced.
But one question crossed his mind. "But…did everyone get away, though? That last attack alone had such a large scale range."
"Ow." The green-haired teen stopped when he heard that voice. Turning to his far left, he saw Ochako lying on the ground with her right ankle pinned by debris as she desperately tried to pull herself out with the 0-pointer moving in towards them both.
The color from Izuku's face drained, and he looked at the situation in horror, seeing the brown-haired teen about to be crushed in a matter of time.
"No! I got to do this! Here and NOW!" The One for All Quirk user internally screamed and pumped his fists to his sides. His green pupils flashed as he activated. "One for All: Full Cowling - 13%!"
Izuku dashed at the 0-pointer, feeling his legs ache as he moved even faster. He turned to his right and ascended the wall of a nearby building, which he relied on to jump higher in the air, facing the center of the 0-pointer.
He fell on some of the building debris and used it as a platform, jumping from piece to piece to reach the villain bot's head. "I'll gotta go all out. No other choice left!"
On the ground level, Xandeki runs towards Ochako and kneels beside her.
"Don't worry, I'm here to help." He reassured her as she looked up at him.
"You're the blaster guy from earlier! Please, my leg is pinned by the debris! I can't get it out!" The Zero Gravity Quirk user yells out, still trying to pull her right leg, but to no avail.
"Hang in there! I got this!" The metallic sliver-haired teen started scooping the bits of debris off her right leg quickly, one by one, as he tossed them aside. Once her trapped limb was free, he helped her up by letting her wrap her left arm around his right shoulder.
"Thank you," she uttered in relief as she limped towards the entrance's gate with Xandeki helping her. But about Midoriya? Is he going to be okay?" she asked, worried.
The metallic sliver-haired teen only looked up at the sky, smiling. "I believe so." He replied with confidence.
Staring before the 0-pointer, Izuku's green Ki aura burst to life, engulfed his right arm, and reeled it back. The right sleeve gets torn off as he balls that fist. "One for All 100% Plus my Ki."
"SMASH!" The One for All Quirk user's fist collided with the villain bot's head, exploding it and launching it backward toward the other end of the battle center. It caused a chain reaction of explosions all over the massive robot's body once the 0-pointer crashed into the end of the battle center's surrounding wall.
Every single examinee looked at Izuku in pure shock, though Xandeki was partially surprised. "So he really was suppressing his power from the start."
Observation Room-
The teachers' expressions were the same as those of the middle scholars, except for Principal Nezu and Toshinori. One sat there, smiling proudly, while the latter jumped joyfully from his seat.
"That's right. Show them who you are. Embodied of what it means to be a hero." Toshinori said among the pro heroes. "Nothing is nobler… than self-sacrifice!"
Battle Center B-
"Just one minute left!" Present Mic stated over the loudspeakers.
That snapped Izuku out of his daze, allowing him to realize that he was still in the air, and he gasped.
"A.H.!" Izuku screamed as he started falling rapidly toward the ground. "HOW AM I GONNA LAND!?" He internally screamed as his right arm had mild redness, slight swelling, and visible veins protruding from overexertion. The limb was left trembling in pain.
The One for All Quirk user began to think of ways to soften his landing. "O-Okay, I scale the falling debris around me using One for All to get this high. So maybe I can find another way to get down. Should be a piece of cake, right? Right. Right, right, right, right, right, right, ri-"
But then, he felt a pair of arms abruptly catch him and felt wrapped in a bear hug. Who was hugging him was none other than Xandeki.
"Metal Hug!" The metallic sliver-haired teen shouted as he flipped on his back. They both crashed into the ground in a small crater, causing a small dust cloud to rise over them.
Yet, as the cloud of dust cleared, Izuku and Xandeki were lying in the middle of the crater, but the latter shielded his friend from the impact drop.
"Didn't think you had much power in you, Midoriya." The green-haired teen's vision was blurry for a moment. He blinked, clearing his vision as he saw the yellow eyes of his ally.
"R-Ribbbon." He weakly raised his left arm, giving him a thumbs up. "Y-You saved me."
Xandeki replied with a grin. "Indeed." But he took a closer look at Izuku's body. Especially his damaged right arm, which he had never since such a backlash on a Quirk before. "I wonder what kind of power he has to do this to a single limb."
"And that's it! TIME'S UP!" The Voice Quirk user announced as the alarm blared all over the testing field, signaling that the exam was over.
The metallic sliver-haired teen sent Izuku down as they both got up and walked out of the crater. The green-haired teen gripped his right arm, gritting his teeth through the pain. "Really regretting not bringing a recovery stim from home!"
But he glanced around at the rest of the candidates, blushing out of embarrassment. "I think w-we've caused a scene."
The metallic sliver-haired teen chuckled softly. "That's an understatement."
"Did you see that dude's attack? I didn't think he had that much strength." An examiner nearby said, still in shock.
"Me either. Looked like some kind of reinforcement Quirk, but...his power was off the charts." Another commented.
Someone else took notice of his speed, too. "And his speed to was impressive. I mean look how fast he was moving earlier."
"True. What kind of Quirk does he have?" One couldn't help but ask.
"Almots all of them are missing the point. Don't they see what he did." But the Engine Quirk user thought from a distance, looking at Izuku. "He was willing to sacrifice his own body just to save that girl's life. He must've have known the little time was left and he still could've gotten more points. But despite those concerns, he didn't hesitate to jump and put his own life on the line."
The blue-haired teen clinched his fists while his body shook. "If this wasn't an exam…Then, of course, I would have done the same thing!" But then, something crossed his mind. "Wait. The exam…" He put a finger under his chin, realizing that "The judges…They saw that."
"Very nice, good work all around. You're all heroes in my eyes, every one of you." An elderly female voice got the attention of Izuku, Xandeki, and the rest of the participants.
It was a short, old woman with gray hair fashioned into a netted bun and a giant syringe looped throught it onto the left. She has a small nose and eyes, which appear as two small dashes, and a long mouth. She is dressed in a doctor's lab coat and a frock with vest-like motifs on either side, two yellow buttons, and a belt with a pink "R"-shaped clasp. She's wearing pink boots and a helmet around her head, with a purple-tinted visor joining it over her eyes.
She walks with a cane in her left hand, shaped like a syringe. The pro-hero offers some gummies to random candidates. Many don't know who she is, aside from Naval Laser Quirk user.
"That mademoiselle, she's the heart of U.A.," He stated with a wink.
The elderly nurse then approached Izuku. "Oh my goodness. Were you hurt by your own Quirk, sonny?"
"Yeah…" The One for All Quirk user replied sheepishly. "I-I kinda went o-overboard this time around."
The pro-heroine can already tell that his body can't handle his Quirk. "It's as though his body can barely handle his own power."
Xandeki looked up at her. "Are you able to help him?" He asked, concerned.
The pro-heroine nodded. "Of course, just stand aside," she said, to which Xandeki quickly obliged.
"Gimme some sugar." She then stretched her lips out and kissed Izuku on the head, which caught him off guard, too, as he shrieked in shock. "A.H.!"
This left Xandeki more confused than him. "Is this how she actiavtes her Quirk?" He wondered, tilting his head slightly.
"You're watching a school nurse in action," The blonde-haired teen answered. "The youthful heroine, Recovery Girl."
The green-haired teen's right arm began to slow a green hue before the redness in that limb subsided first, followed by the swelling as the visible veins receded.
"Her Quirk is a très awesome boost of healing power," The Naval Laser Quirk user explained. "She's one of the only reasons the U.A. can hold these reckless exams. She is saving him months of recovery time, quite marvelous."
In a matter of seconds, Izuku's right arm is completely healed. He even flexed it a few times to see if he was still in pain but felt nothing. "My arm is completely healed. Just like Capsule Corp's recovery stims work, did they get the inspiration from her?" He questioned himself.
Recovery Girl pulled back her lips. "I swear, these exams are getting more and more dangerous."
Izuku's exhaustion started to settle in, but he still thanked her. "Th-Thank you, Recovery Girl…" He said in gratitude, slightly bowing.
"All right, he'll be fine now. Anyone else injured?" She asked of the rest of the middle scholars around her.
The blue-haired teen continued to reflect on this practical exam. "I wonder… What if the exam has other parameters that I didn't take into account?" He gasps. "It's possible…
Izuku and Xandeki started walking toward Uraraka, who saw a missile pod of destroyed villain bots by the Battle Center's entrance. As she got off and jogged to them, they saw that her right ankle was already healed.
"Hey, you guys!" Once she stood a few feet before them, she slightly bowed. "Thank you both for helping me back there…"
The green-haired teen's cheeks turned slightly red as he rubbed the back of his head. "Oh, um, i-it was n-nothing. J-Just doing what we could to help." He answered.
The metallic sliver-haired teen gave her a simile. "No problem at all. We're glad you're okay."
The Zero Gravity Quirk user turned her attention to Xandeki and extended her hand. It's nice to meet you," she said.
He shook her head, giving her a nod. "Likewise, Uraraka. I'm Xandeki Ribbon."
She then gave them a suggestion. "Oh, yeah." She pulled out a pink-cased flip phone. "Hey, why don't we exchange numbers? That way, we can keep in touch after this?"
"Sure." Xandeki agreed, taking his phone out of his pocket and placing it in a silver case with a red circuit pattern on the back cover.
Izuku, however, was taken aback by this offer. "H-Huh!? T-There's no need, really!" He quickly said.
"Well, maybe you don't want me to, but I still want your number. After all, we might be attending U.A. together, so it'll be nice to have people I know to talk to." She said, smiling brightly.
Izuku then sighed and looked at Xandeki, smirking at him. "O-okay, that's fine with me." He finally agreed, pulling out his own phone as the trio exchanged numbers.
As they returned to the bus, he couldn't help but remember his spiky-haired friend. "Hope Teks is doing well on his end."
One Week Later- The Midoriyas Apartment-
Other apartments surround theirs on the outside, and power lines go through the front yard. The apartments are five floors high and appear to be danchi. A large '2' can be seen on the side of their apartment building.
Seven days passed as Izuku continued to work on his muscle strength and Ki control. One night, his mother arrived and showed him the letter rather frantically. Izuku sat down at his desk with the lamp in his bedroom, which was adorned with action figures, posters, and other collectibles of All Might and other well-known pro heroes he grew up watching online or reading about through websites or books. He wore a white shirt and a green robe with matching slippers.
On his desk was the same U.A. envelope that Tekkan had received some time ago after his recommended exams. The OFA Quirk user stared at it for a while, hesitating to open it.
"Alright, here goes nothing." He thought, taking a deep breath as he grabbed the envelope. He pulled it apart with little struggle as a holographic projector dropped on his desk.
"The same thing that relayed Teks's test results." Then, it turned itself on as a light flashed over it until the face of the Symbol of Peace appeared, causing Izuku to flinch.
"Booya! I am here as a projection now!" All Might greeted him.
"Wait, All Might? B-But this is from… here's in U.A., isn't it?" he asked himself as he kept looking at the screen.
"I know it's been a while, but with great power, it comes with a great amount of paperwork!" All Might said before coughing into a balled fist and slightly bowing simultaneously.
"My apologizes, young man. Like I told the recommended candidates after their own exams, the truth is, I didn't come to this city to play villain. You're looking at the newest U.A. Faculty Member!"
This shocked the green-haired teen greatly. "Wait, so you're going to be a teacher at U.A.?..And Teks had to keep this from me?!" He also expressed slight betrayal before he shrugged it off, not willing to blame him if his mentor told him to stay quiet.
All Might seemed to nod, then was distracted by someone waving a hand on the lower right of the screen. "Yeah, what is it? Who's showboating?...Oh, I'm sorry, I'll wrap it up, but I want to show him something first...wait, I have to do how many of these things?"
The Symbol of Peace shrugged with a deep sigh. "Right, moving on." He clears his throat before explaining his results. "You passed the written exam, and you got 70 combots points during the practical exam! Your performance alone was absolutely incrediable!"
"But there were other factors, young man. But before we get to that, I got a surprise. A short clip for your viewing pleasure." The pro hero used a remote on the other screen to his right and turned it on.
Once on, it showed a recording of Uraraka entering a room after the exam. She had her brown hoodie over her left arm, revealing a white buttoned shirt with a red tie and blue striped collar. "Oh, it's Uraraka." He said, surprised.
All Might pause it. "She showed up after the exams, talking about you, young man. But she wasn't the only one, look. What did they have to say? You'll have to stay tuned to find out!" He then resumed the recording.
The One for All Quirk user blinked. "Huh?
"Um, do you have a sec? Sorry to interrupt." Ochako said to the Voice Quirk user.
Present Mic replied, questioning, "It's okay. Is there's something you want?"
"You know that boy with the weird gmessy green hair and all the freckles? It's hard to describe his face, but he's Izuku Midoriya." She described him before continuing.
"I was wondering if it would be possible to give him some of the points I earned in the exam. I know its difficult to ask but if it wasn't for him, him saving me and that guy, Ribbons, I wouldn't never be here. He should have more points just for helping me and deserve to be here at U.A. like me. So please, sir. Give him my points." She pleaded before they heard a knock at the door.
Right on cue, Xandeki stood at the doorframe, his jacket wrapped over his right shoulder. "Mind if I come in?" He asked with a simile as he walked in.
Izuku leaned forward in his seat in shock. "R-Ribbons? He was there too?"
"R-Ribbons? What are you doing here? The Zero Gravity Quirk user asked him, surprised to see him here too.
"Couldn't help but overall hear your request." He then stood next to her, looking up at Present Mic. "But I agree with her. With that much power, Midoriya has, it should be in U.A. if possible. He was willing to stop that robot just to save her regardless if it was worth any points."
The metallic sliver-haired teen shrugged. "I don't know if U.A. can give him my points, but I would like to share mine. If you can't, then consider him a seat at this school. He earned it."
Uraraka spoke up. "Midoriya saved me, without hesitating." The girl bowed her head again. "Please sir, give him our points!"
All Might stopped that video before returning to face his successor, who was shocked at his friend's commitment to see him pass.
He then paused that recording. "And that's why I am here. You see, the practical exam was not graded on combat alone."
Izuku gasped. "I-It's not?"
The Symbol of Peace then resumed. "Thanks for showin' up at the station with your requests," Present Mic told them. But there's no reason to give him your points. The kid's chartin' well on his own."
The recording stops as All Might stands in front of his screen to face the camera. "How can a hero reject someone who's committed to saving others, no matter the consequences to himself? After all, that is what makes a hero. And that's what my alma mater is all about. Training those who risk their lives for the greater good."
"So, we have Rescue Points. A panel of judges watches, and they award points for heroic acts beyond fighting villains." The pro-hero explains as the screen next shows the results of the 'Exam Leader Board.'

Izuku couldn't believe this. His dream was coming true. Tears were building in his eyes, out of joy, as he tumbled before this news. "I-Is this… some kind of a… joke?"
All Might stretched his left hand at the camera, giving his iconic simile. "Welcome, Izuku. You have made it. You're now a part of the hero academia!" He declared to his successor before the device turned off.
"Thank you!" After hearing those words, Izuku broke down with tears of joy and satisfaction. He has so many people to thank for making it this far as he tried to wipe the endless tears shedding down his face. "Mom, Tekkan, All Might, Ribbons, Uraraka…"
Suddenly, Izuki's phone buzzed on the left side of his desk. He reached out for it and unlocked it. "It must be them trying to check on me." But he was surprised to see who it came from once he opened his message.
Mr. Yagi: (9:35 p.m.) Young Midoriya, meet me at the beach tomorrow morning and try to be discreet.
"I wonder what he wants to talk to me about?" The green-haired teen asked before texting him back.
Deku: (9:36 p.m.) All right see you then.
The OFA Quirk user gets up and walks out of his room to see her mom pacing back and forth out of nervousness for her son.
She was a chubby woman whose hair and large, circular eyes were green but slightly darker than her son's. Her hair is straight and shoulder-length, with a small and spiky ponytail at the back. She wore a pink sweatshirt with a blue skirt and white socks.
His mom stopped to see her son standing at the door, giving her a close-eyed simile.
The dark green-haired woman knew what this meant as she began to tear up."Oh! My baby!" She shouted, embracing the green-haired teen in a tight hug. Izuku hugged her back as she started to cry out of joy.
