Aztec 13 chapter 11 . Dec 16: Yeah, I wanted Tekkan's hero costume to fit the modern aspects of his life in Capsule Corp. Fun fact, if you look back at Deku's costume, I took a lot of inspiration from his "Beta" and "Gamma" costumes (during s2 to mid s4) and Optimus Prime's (VA - Peter Cullen aka the Goat) retractable mouthplate. Since Izuku has connections with Capsule Corp, upgrading his original (cannon) sketched costume was easy for him. Happy New Year btw!

"Wow, what are the chances?!" Ochaco shouted in glee, approaching Izuku."We're a team!"
The OFA Quirk user blushed heavily. "Oh my gosh, I must make a good impression on her!" He thought, trying to calm himself down.
Similarly, Mashirao took the moment to approach Tekkan. "Looks like we're being paired up again, huh?
With a smirk, the teenage Saiyan turned to him and replied. "Guess so."
He saw that his hero costume consisted of a white gi fastened with a black belt, a furry collar, and black boots adorned with sand-blue accents.
"Well, it's an honor to fight alongside you this time instead." The Tail Quirk user said, smiling.
"Likewise, Mashirao." The teenage Saiyan replied, "From his clothes, he must be a skilled fighter like me." He guessed.
"I'm so excited to be teaming up with you guys! Especially you, Tekkan, since you're so damn strong!"
Both tailed teens turned their right side to see only a pair of light blue gloves with pale pink lines and light brownish-gray lace-up shoes waving at them.
Recognizing the Invisibility Quirk user's voice, Tekkan chuckled at her compliment. "Please, Toru, I didn't just get this strong overnight."
Mashirao spoke up. "Your right. I can tell your power can't be required as easily as that, but you are still a student here like all of us."
Tekkan nodded and said, "Thanks man…"
He turned back to the invisible teen. "So Toru, can you undo your Quirk whenever you want, or will it stay on forever?"
"Huh? Oh, like, I can't, I'm totally invisible, can't turn off my Quirk even if I wanna." The Invisibility Quirk user replied.
"You don't say." The teenage Saiyan said with a nod of his head. "A Quirk that's both a blessing and a curse, huh?"
All of the Class 1A focused back on All Might, who had one white and one black box beside both his legs, with the words 'Hero' and 'Villian' respectively.
The pro hero then places both of his hands into two boxes.
"I declare that the first teams to fight will be…" Reaching into both boxes, All Might pulled out two balls. The hero ball was labeled 'A,' and the villain ball was labeled 'D.'"
"THESE GUYS! Team A will be the Heroes, while Team B will be the Villains."
Izuku's expression displayed shock and terror at the thought of facing Katsuki in combat, other than Tekkan or All Might.
He lowers his arms before addressing the rest of the class. "Everyone else can head to the monitoring room to watch!"
The young OFA Quirk user looked down in worry, noticing and glancing next to his right side to meet the scowl of the Explosive Quirk user, who mouthed, 'Your dead' to him.
Izuku displayed a more determined expression back to him, irritating him further.
"Yes, sir!" Most of the class walked forward toward the monitor room.
Tekkan took a moment to approach Izuku before joining their class. Using his tail, he pulled the green-haired teen's left arm to whisper in his left ear.
"Look, don't let Katsuki scare you this time around. I know you're stronger than him. You got this."
Izuku whispered back and nodded, "It's true that I've never really fought him before... B-But I'll do my best!"
"I know you will." The spiky-haired alien stepped back, letting go of his left arm, and walked towards the class.
Only the Symbol of Peace and the members of both teams were left.
"Bad guys, you can go on in and get set up." All Might instructed. "The good guys will be let loose in five minutes, and the battle will start!"
"Yes, sir!" Izuku, Ochako, and Tenya replied in unison.
The two groups were led to a five-story building where the match would start. As Team A stood by, Team B was about to head inside when All Might stop them.
"Young Iida, Young Bakugo. The key to being successful in this challenge is to embody villainy. Think from the perspective of an evildoer."
"Got it!" Tenya responded.
"If things go too far, I'll step in." All Might assured them.
"Understood!" the Engine Quirk user nodded while walking first inside the building.
However, the Explosive Quirk user bitterly growled at Izuku from his left side, who was flexing his left fingers. After a few moments, he angrily followed his ally in.
One Minute Later-
Since the fake bomb was on the fifth floor, Tenya and Katsuki walked up to inspect it.
The blue-haired teen approached the towering bomb, his helmet in his left hand. "Even though this is training, it pains me to be aligned with criminal behavior."
He stopped in front of it. "So, this is the weapon we must protect." He tapped his right knuckle on it twice. "Fake, of course."
"Hey!"
"Hm?" Tenya turned to see Katsuki simply staring at the doorway with his back facing him. "Do you really think Deku has a Quirk?"
"You saw how he performed yesterday." The Engine Quirk user commented, recalling the Quirk Assessment test. "Though I think his power still hurts his body."
"Tch." The sandy-blonde teen scoffed and tightened his fists.
"Why is it that you seem to be especially angry when it comes to Midoriya?" Tenya wondered.
Katsuki tuned him out, deep in his thoughts, "Was he seriously just tricking me all these years? I'm gonna roast that damn nerd for lying to me!
Now, his eyes were bloodshot with tiny veins visible. "I'll show him not to dare mock me!"
Same Time-
Outside, both Izuku and Uraraka each held a map of the building and continued studying it.
"Ya think they expect us to memorize this building's floor plan? It's so big!" Ochako exclaimed, still looking at the map.
"W-Well, heroes need to know where they'll be infiltrating for villains. Otherwise, they'd be disadvantaged for not knowing the layout." Izuku pointed out.
"You know, All Might is just as cool as a person on television. I'm glad he's not threatening us with some kind of punishment like Mr. Aizawa. We can rela-"
The Zero Gravity Quirk stopped when he saw Izuku sweating nervously while shivering. "Ah! You're sweating under your costume!"
"U-Uh, well, it's just because we're up against Kachaan," Izuku said, folding up his blueprint. "Plus, there's Iida too. We should guard because who knows what they'll pull."
"Oh, right. Bakugo. He's the one who's always making fun of you. But why does he seem so angry around mostly you?" Ochako asked.
The OFA Quirk user sighs, pocketing the blueprint inside one of his belt's pockets. "He's a real piece of work for sure… but his strength, confidence, ambition, and not to mention his Quirk. They're all so much greater than mine," Izuku said, then stood up straight.
"But that just means that I have to do better." His mouthplate automatically slides shut. "I refuse to lose today."
"So it's a fated battle between rivals," Uraraka commented, inspired. Thus making Izuku break his composure.
"O-Oh, not that I'm trying to get you wrapped up in my fight or anything." He responded.
"Are you kidding? We're a team, right?" She remarked. "Let's win this!" She raised her right fist into the air in excitement.
Izuku smiled and nodded at her reaction until All Might's voice echoed across the building's loudspeakers.
"All right! Let's begin the indoor combat training! Team A and Team D, your time starts now!"
Monitor Room-
The Symbol of Peace stood in front of a big screen with a control panel in front of him. Five TV screens displayed every camera angle in the building.
"Pay attention, kids!" All Might instructed as all eighteen students stood behind him. "Think about what you would do!"
He then puts an earbud into his left ear. "Young Midoriya, in this class, you're just another student. I'll grade you as anyone else. Without playing favorites."
Tekkan looks at one of the TV screens with his arms crossed over his chest, smiling. "Let's see how those four will fare."
Chp 12- Battle Trial Part 1 - Deku vs Kacchan
With Izuku and Ochako-
On the building's first floor, the One for All Quirk user and the Zero Gravity Quirk vaulted inside an open window frame.
"And just like that, we're in." Ochako silently commented.
"Careful. There are a lot of blind spots." Izuku warned as the duo slowly walked down the hallway, checking every corner in their path.
"I still have only 13% of One For All's control and the basics of Ki control down. Still can't risk using my full power. If I did, I'd probably end up killing someone. We'll just have to win Uraraka's Zero Gravity and whatever I can do with my powers."
The green-haired teen stopped at another corner of the hall and raised a hand to halt Uraraka. Peeking down the corridor, she motioned her to keep going.
Ochaco checked their flank every time and stayed close, keeping quiet.
"I've gotta use my head. I took a lot of notes on indoor battles and fighting in tight spaces. Teks' right. I can do this!"
Before Izuku took another step, he stopped and gasped. Suddenly, he saw Katsuki appear from around an opening in the corridor right in front of them, reaching out his left grenadier bracer at them.
"DIE!"
*BOOM*
Izuku didn't hesitate and tackled Ochako to the left corner, pushing her out of the way of the explosion that Katsuki fired off.
This resulted in the brunette landing on her back, with Izuku landing on top of her, covering her with any debris.
"Any slower, and that would've blown off my mask." The One for All Quirk user quickly turned around to face the smoke cloud before them. "Uraraka, you okay? He asked.
"I'm fine. Thanks." She answered back.
The smoke cleared before them by the Explosion Quirk user, who used his left arm to swing the smoke away. Next to him was the small dent left in the wall from his explosion.
"What's the matter, Deku? Afraid to stand up and fight me? Katsuki taunted, looking down at his opponents.
Izuku stood on one knee. "I knew you'd come at me first. And figured you'd try to catch me by surprise."
Monitor Room-
Some of their classmates couldn't help but share their own thoughts out loud.
"He almost got the jump on him," Minoru commented in surprise.
"Sneak attack, Bakugo?" Eijiro questioned, punching his left fist into his right palm. "What kinda man pulls cheap crap like that?"
In his hero costume, he wore dark red gear-shaped shoulder pads, a jagged sash, a red 'R' belt, baggy black pants, a half cape with a ripped hem, dark red boots, and wired guard around his face with spiked pieces resembling fangs. Yet, his chest remained bare.
"It's a viable strategy." All Might pointed out, holding a pen and notepad in his hands. "He's playing the part. Acting like a true villain would."
"But It didn't work." Mina responded. "Midoriya dodged him."
As her hero costume, she wore a white mask over her eyes and a skin-tight bodysuit in purple and turquoise with a camouflage pattern. Over the bodysuit, she wore a cropped, sleeveless, tan-colored waistcoat with white fur along its collar. The boots, custom-made in plum violet and beige, had holes in the soles.
"Look, there he goes!" Denki said, directing everyone's attention to one of the screens.
For his hero costume, he wore a white shirt, an open black jacket featuring a white lightning pattern on the back, and matching pants with two lines on the legs. He also had square earphones on his right ear that resembled a radio antenna.
Back with Izuku-
"Who said I'm running anywhere?" The One for All Quirk user quipped and took his fighting stance.
"One for All: Full Cowling…!" His green bioelectricity surged around him.
"Hell yeah, that's more like it!" The Explosive Quirk user roared with a menacing smile. "I won't hurt you so bad that they have to stop the fight!"
He ran towards him, reeling back his right arm, ready to stretch it out. "JUST CLOSE ENOUGH!"
Izuku dashed forward to grab Katsuki's right arm.
The sandy blonde-haired teen's smile turned into a gasp. "What the-!?"
The One for All Quirk user swerved his body so his back faced his opponent.
"Wow! Look at those moves!" Ochako said, surprised.
"Impossible! How did he know? He's not that good!" Katsuki thought, stretching his free gauntlet out, emitting sparks from his left arm.
"13%!" Grunting, Izuku yanked Katsuki over his right shoulder. "RAHHHHHHH!" Then, he slammed him to the ground, causing the floor to shake.
"Urk!" Katsuki coughed up saliva as he now lay in a small crater on the ground.
Izuku gulped nervously and then spoke up, turning off his Quirk. "Kacchan, you always use a big right hook to start a fight. I know because I've watched you for years."
As he explained, the sandy-blonde teen lifted his head and glared maliciously at the green-haired teen.
"I analyzed every amazing hero, even you." Izuku continued explaining. "I wanted to learn everything I could about them. It was all in the notebook you burned that you threw away."
The Explosive Quirk user growled at him, yet the One for All Quirk user retook his fighting stance.
"You can call me Deku, but I'm not the same helpless, defenseless kid anymore! You hear me?! I've changed!"
Giving him a tearful glare, he reactivated Full Cowling. "From now on, Deku is the name of a hero!"
Uraraka gasped, stunned by the same nickname she had used on him earlier.
Katsuki slowly stood up and turned towards his target, ignoring Ochako.
His nose wrinkled with a snarl, crouching, "Deku…even with your power, you're shaking in your boots. You're still that scared!"
Izuku started to shake slightly as Kasuki released a few tiny explosions and then roared out, "And you want to fight me anyway! That's why I hate you!"
"...Bakugo! Come in!" Iida interrupted, calling on Katsuki's left black earbud.
The Explosive Quirk user tapped on it with his left index and middle finger.
"Just shut up and defend the weapon. I've got more important things to do right now!" He ordered and ended the call.
Monitor Room-
The rest of their audience could only see what unfolds rather than hear anything happening.
"Hey, who's Bakugo talking to? I'm not hearing anything. Can we get any sound with this video?" Eijiro asked, seemingly confused.
All Might then answered, pointing to his left earbud with an index finger. "He's got a radio in his ear to talk to his partner."
"I gave it to him before they started, along with a map of the building. Also, this!" The Symbol of Peace took a roll of tape off the panel with his left hand and showed it to the class.
"A roll of capture tape! Wrapping this around your opponent means you've apprehended them, and they're out for the rest of the game."
The Acid Quirk user inquired. "So there's a 15-minute time limit, and the good guys have no idea what floor the nuclear weapon is hidden on, right?"
"Correct!" All Might confirmed.
"Then the heroes are at a clear disadvantage here. A big one." Mina pointed out.
"Real pros have to outwit villains on a daily basis." All Might explained.
"That's life. Even when the odds aren't in our favor, we fight!" He then raised his left fist, "All together!"
"Let's hear a Plus Ultra!" Class 1A shouted in unison, also raising their fists, a majority more enthusiastically than others.
"Monsieur," Yuga commented, getting everyone's attention. "He's on the move." He said, looking at one of the screens.
"Be careful, you two, Katsuki's not screwing around." Zrya muttered.
Tekkan kept his arms crossed and patiently waited. "It's is just the beginning."
Back with Katsuki-
The Explosive Quirk user grunted and lowered his left arm to blast forward.
The One for All Quirk user widens his eyes before calling out, "Uraraka! Go!"
"Right!" The Zero Gravity Quirk user nodded, running in the opposite direction.
At the same time, Izuku dashed forward in a green electric blur.
Firing off an explosion from his left palm, the sandy blonde-haired teen spun midair, swinging his right leg back.
In response, the green-haired one fell to his knees and leaned back, sliding on the ground to dodge Katsuki's side kick.
Both fighters exchanged glares, and before he could land on his feet, Kasuki fired off another explosion to propel himself back at Izuku. "Ballsy move. Think you can take me alone!?"
The One for All Quirk user swiftly got up and turned around. "I can at least try!"
He raised his right arm out as the Explosive Quirk user swung his left arm at him.
Both teens' arms collided, shaking the corridor with a small shockwave as Izuku's right forearm parried Katsuki's left grenadier bracer.
"I gotta nail him before he blasts me!" Izuku reeled back his left leg to knee-kick Katsuki in his abdomen, forcing him to cough out blood. "Gah!"
The sandy blond-haired teen winced in pain. "This stupid Quirk is strong!"
The One for All Quirk user follows up by delivering a front kick to the Explosive Quirk user, which he blocks with his right grenadier bracer, sliding him back.
Izuku then sprinted up to him and reeled back his right arm, shouting, "SMAAASH!"
But Katsuki quickly raised his left palm to his right side and fired off an explosion, propelling himself away from the Detriot Smash.
Then he countered by extending his right hand towards Izuku's chest with a bloody smirk.
"Even if he's hurt, I know he'll still stay on the offensive!" The green-haired teen pulls back his arms to backflip to dodge a fired-off explosion.
A large smoke cloud covered the corridor before Izuku as he landed a few feet away, slightly bending his knees.
"The second he gets the chance, he will come back at me again!" The One for All Quirk user raised his right arm and positioned his fingers by having his thumb grip his index finger.
"Time to try out my new technique! No chance Kacchan will expect this!"
Izuku aimed his right hand at the smoke cloud and used his other arm to support his held-up one.
"Wait for it…wait for it…" As sweat dripped down his face, green bioelectricity flowed right into his right index finger.
Then he saw a familiar silhouette move in the cloud of smoke for a moment. Then Katsuki propelled out of it towards his rival.
The green-haired teen narrowed his eyes and aimed at the sandy-blond teen.
The Explosive Quirk user widened his eyes in shock as he noticed, "What the-?!"
"13% Plus Ki..."
"DELAWARE SMAAASH!" Izuku roared out as he flicked that index finger, shooting off a powerful shockwave that erupted and pieced through the air.
Katsuki used both palms to blast off two explosions, one colliding with the incoming attack, resulting in a large explosion that sent the two teens flying back.
Monitor Room-
"That little guy's really good!" Rikido exclaimed, impressed.
He's a tall, broad young man with a muscular build, short brown spiked hair, and relatively small square-shaped eyes with bushy eyebrows above. He has thick lips and a large, round nose that's slightly darker than the rest of his skin.
For a hero costume, he wears a yellow full-body suit with holes around his mouth, eyes, and hair. He also wears white gloves, boots, and a grey utility belt.
"Man, he's really kicking Bakugo's a* out there." Hanta pointed out.
He wears a black bodysuit with a white design on his mid-torso area and two yellow trimmings on each elbow-length sleeve as a hero costume. He has white boots lined with yellow and has short white bands around his waist and thighs. A larger band across his chest connects his tape dispenser-shaped shoulder pads. Obscuring his face is a yellow helmet with a black visor.
Tekkan chuckled at his classmate's statement. "Not surprising, really. Long before All Might took him under his wing, he spent years taking notes on multiple heroes. Adding those notes to what he knows he can do in battle like that Delaware Smash is paying off!"
Same Time-
Izuku grunted and covered his face with his arms as he planted his feet on the ground to slide down the hallway. He looked ahead at an even bigger smoke cloud.
"Now's my chance to retreat and regroup with Uraraka!" The One for All Quirk user looked to his left at a corridor and dashed in it, escaping.
The Explosive Quirk jumped through the smoke, ready to fight, but lost sight of his target.
Spitting out blood and clenching his hands into fists, he screamed out. "Get back here, Deku!" He started to run down a different corridor to find him.
Meanwhile, Izuku took sharp corners and jumped along the walls of different corridors to lose Katsuki. Then, he placed his back against a corner of a hallway. "Should be far enough away."
The One for All Quirk user undid Full Cowling and continued running down more corridors. "If I kept using Full Cowling, there's no doubt Kacchan would hear me zooming around. His senses are too sharp! The worst part is he'll be more cautious now than ever!"
"DAMN IT!" Katsuki screamed out. "You've been tricking me for years by acting weak! Bet you've been laughing behind my back, huh!? So where's that flashy power a' yours now!? And was it really worth lying to me about it!?"
Izuku stopped running, thinking back to his last comment.
"Fight me and see how it compares to mine!" Katsuki challenged, igniting tiny explosions.
"Quirk or not, you'll never beat me, Deku!" He then started blasting through doors one by one, searching room to room for his rival.
The One for All Quirk user overheard explosions in the distance as he ran again, now looking down in guilt.
"I wasn't trying to lie to you…I would never want to do that, Kacchan. I just never told when I got it…"
Monitor Room-
"That guy has some real anger issues," Denki commented. "Kinda scary…"
Tekkan pieced together Izuku's current goal. "So he's keeping Katsuki busy by using himself as bait. Buying time for Uraraka to make it to the bomb." He noted.
All Might nervously, and he listened to Bakugo and his pupil. "Midoriya and Tekkan told me that Young Bakugo thinks very highly of himself. But this level of pride is something else. It may end up being his demise."
Zrya had her hands on her hips. "C'mon, Ochako, find that weapon and finish this, that guy's a walking bomb ready to explode anytime now."
Two Minutes Later-
Izuku stopped and couched against another corner, panting. As he retracted his mouthplate, he started peeking to see if his opponent was nearby.
"Good, he's completely forgotten about my partner, just like I thought. If they wanted to send someone to catch us, it should've been Iida. He's more built for speed, after all. That probably means Kacchan's gone rogue. The two of them aren't working together as a team.
He took a deep breath to calm down. "If we had to take those two on head to head, we would still have a tough time against them with their strong Quirks. I can't go after the weapon now, or Kacchan will follow me, and if we both try to take him down, we might run out of time. So we stay split up for now. I have to trust Uraraka because she'll find the weapon and Iida, and then I'll join her for a two-on-one fight. That's how we'll win."
"I just have to capture Kacchan down here, alone." He looked at his right hand and balled into a fist.
"STOP HIDING!" Katsuki screamed out, causing Izuku to gasp. "Come out and face me, you coward!"
"By the way, I've meant to tell you something, Kacchan." Izuku reflected on how he was scolded for applying to U.A. earlier.
"I take back everything I said," The One for All Quirk user said, wiping his nose.
Suddenly, his right earbud went off. "Um, Deku?" The Zero Gravity Quirk user asked.
Izuku answered, "I'm here. How's it going?"
He heard laughter coming from Tenya from his end before Ochako replied. "Iida knows that I'm here. Sorry. Right now, he's monologuing."
"Where are you?" Izuku asked.
"Near the middle of the fifth floor," Ochako responded.
He looks at the ceiling, gasping. "Right above me!"
The green-haired teen holds his capture tape as he tightens his grip on it. "We probably don't have much time left now. It's now or never."
The One for All Quirk user peeks around his corner, unraveling some of his tapes. But with a gasp, he quickly turned around to see the Explosion Quirk user standing several meters away.
"I'm all loaded up." The sandy blonde-haired teen said, lifting his right grenadier bracer up, which briefly glowed red.
"What does that mean?" Izuku questioned.
Ignoring his question, Katsuki asked, "Where's that fancy light show of a Quirk now? Don't tell me you're underestimating me, Deku."
His irises shrunk, smiling sinisterly. "Get over here and show me what you're really made of."
Izuku reactivated Full Cowling and retook his fight stance, with his capture tape in hand and his mask automatically sliding on. "Kacchan, I'm not scared of you anymore!" he stated confidently.
Katsuki growls at his statement but calms and similes again. "Heh. Since you're such a stalker, you probably know how my Quirk, Explosion, works by now.
"I secrete nitroglycerin like sweat from my hands and make it blow up." He explained.
He lifted his right arm and pointed his grenadier bracer at Izuku, but his palm stayed closed. This left Izuku confused, "What's his point?"
"Imagine what I could do if I had a LOT of it." The Explosion Quirk user continued as he pulled back the giant pin on his grenadier bracer to reveal a smaller pin.
Izuku's eyes widened and formed a terrified expression, "OH, NO!"
The sandy blond-haired teen couched. "That's right. These gauntlets aren't just for show. They've been storing up my sweat inside for one monster blast!"
He put his left index finger on the pin, aiming at his target.
Monitor Room-
"No, he's going too far!"
"Young Bakugo!" All Might interjected, terrified as he shouted into His microphone. "Don't do it! You'll kill him!"
Many students either dropped their jaws or gasped in shock at Symbol of Peace's demand as they focused on the monitors. Tekkan slightly widens his eyes in realization and surprise. "He wouldn't…!" He then scoffs internally. "Dumb question…"
Back with Katsuki-
Grinning widely, Katsuki then remarked, "He'll be fine as long as he dodges."
Izuku panicked, "I gotta move!"
The Explosive Quirk user slightly positions his grenadier bracer away from the OFA Quirk user, and he pulls the pin.
Just as Izuku was about to jump…
*CRACK*
A part of the ground crumbled underneath Izuku's boot foot from the force, making him lose his footing.
"Huh?"
A large, focused explosion is fired from Katsuki, crumbling through the hallway's walls and floor toward Izuku.
The One for All Quirk user watching the attack flies towards him, utterly terrified. "I can't dodge it like this. Even if I move midair, it'll still hit…"
The green-haired teen gritted his teeth in determination. "No!"
He then infuses Ki into his hands, drawing out his green aura.
"I refuse to yet it end like this! I won't let All Might and the rest of my friends down! NO WAY!"
"HAAAAH!" He screamed out in desperation and stretched out his palms as the explosion denoted.
*BOOM*
Debris flew all around them as the explosion shook the entire building and its surroundings.
Monitor Room-
All of Class 1A, including All Might, felt the tremor of the explosion from where they stood.
"Woah! This is nuts!" Ejirou pointed out.
"I know that's gonna hurt!" Tekkan internally cringed, looking around to check on everyone once the vibration ended. "Is everyone alright?!"
"Is Izuku alright?!" Zrya shouted, worried.
"I thought this was supposed to be a class!? What the hell man!?" Denki exclaimed angrily.
The fourth-floor cameras from the monitors went static or were only blinded by smoke clouds. However, outside cameras should
There is a massive hole on the same floor that exploded.
"Come in!" All Might urgently shouted into the microphone. "Come in Midoryia!"
The massive cloud of smoke started to disperse as one of the monitors showed Katsuki walking through the smoke cloud with his left Grenadier bracer glowing red shorty.
"Haha. These awesome." He laughs in joy. "The more nitro sweat that's stored in these gauntlets, the stronger the explosion i-"
Katsuki stopped and gasped, jaw dropped as sweat dripped off his face. "W-WHAT?!"
As the smoke finally cleared up, the severely injured One for All Quirk user stood before the Explosive Quirk user.
With his mask gone and aura dispersed, he showed his slightly singed hair and costume, which displayed burn marks, tears, and scorching, with partial melting on his arm braces, and his belt had scuff marks. His gloves were burned off, revealing the severely red palms of his hands.
Retracting his cracked mask, the green-haired teen panted heavily, slightly weary. "Ha…ha…ha…ha…"
"If I didn't put all of my Ki into my arms to defend against that explosion, I would've…man…he's really awesome…"
He stared at the sandy blond-haired teen, clenched his fists, and gritted his teeth so hard he could hear it.
"What the hell, Deku?! You... you blocked that?! How?!" Katsuki bellowed in fury. "I made sure to aim away from the damn nerd! So why did he?..."
Still panting and visibly battered, the One for All Quirk user gave him a strained smile. "Like I told you, I'm not the same Quirkless kid anymore."
The Explosion Quirk user's palms sparked with anger as he glared at Izuku. "So you think is all a game to you, huh? Oh, I get it! You're just mocking me, aren't you?! You think you could just stand there as if that was nothing to you?! Huh!? DO YOU!?"
His rival didn't say anything as he just remained still. "The gauntlets make it so he can boost his Quirk at long range. I'm not safe, even if I keep my distance."
Taking a step forward, Katsuki screamed out. "ANSWER ME!"
Wincing in pain, Izuku called Ochako from his earbuds. "C-Come in, what's the situation?"
Distressed, she replied. "It's not good."
"...You dare ignore me again?!" Katsuki questioned, starting to twitch uncontrollably, and smiled sadistically.
"I'll get your attention one way or another!"
Back with All Might-
"Sir, isn't this getting out of hand?" Eijiro asked, concerned. "That Bakugo is acting real crazy. He's gonna kill him."
All Might disagreed. "Not so."
Tekkan scoffed at the Hard Quirk user's worries. "I doubt that even with all of Katsuki's firepower, he has what it takes to put him down."
"Despite his fierce posturing, I know he's not actually trying to kill Midoriya. But still…" The Symbol of Peace spoke into the microphone.
"Bakugo. Use that stored-up power again, and I'll stop this fight. Your team will lose." He threatened.
Zrya rolled his eyes at this statement. "Oh, now he's setting some ground rules…"
With Katsuki-
"Huh?" The Explosive Quirk user responded, irritated, and looked to his left side at one of the cameras.
"To employ such a strong attack indoors is inviting the destruction of the stronghold you should be protecting." The older One for All Quirk user explained. "That's a poor strategy, whether you're a Hero or a Villain. The penalty will be a massive loss of points."
After hearing this, the Explosive Quirk user started growling while shaking uncontrollably. He then leaned back and screamed in rage, "ARGGGH!"
Meanwhile, the younger One for All Quirk user continued talking to his teammate. "The pillar by the window. Get there now!"
He then gasped as Katsuki rocketed at him with explosions. "FINE THEN! WE'LL CONTINUE FIGHTING HAND-TO-HAND!"
Auto sliding on his mask, Izuku turned on Full Cowling and reeled back his left arm, "DETRIOT-
Katsuki widened his eyes in realization. "No, ya don't!"
He fired off an explosion downwards from his left palm to propel himself over Izuku's head, blinding him with smoke. The One for All Quirk user was shocked, with smoke blocking his vision. "What?!"
Behind his opponent, the Explosive Quirk user fired off another explosion from his right palm to keep him in midair and blasted Izuku in his back.
"GAH!" Izuku yelled out in pain.
Monitor Room-
Almost all of Class 1A gasped at this counterattack and were left puzzled.
"What was that move?" Ejirou wondered.
Behind him, Shoto spoke up, dining on a simple off-white outfit with matching pants and boots, complete with gold straps that crossed his shoulders. Notably, his left side, including his head, is entirely covered in ice.
"He doesn't come off as a guy with a strategy, but he's actually quite intelligent." He noted.
"What are you talking about?" The Hardening Quirk user asked as he and the Acid Quirk user turned around to face him.
"He changed his trajectory midair while using a blast that doubled as a smokescreen," The Half-Colf Half-Hot Quirk user explained while praising him. "Very clever."
Momo chimed in. "A feign attack like that requires an extreme amount of precision. He had to calculate the physics and demonstrate control over his Quirk."
"And not just that," Tekkan added as everyone stared at him next. "With those injuries, Izuku's timing on his attacks is slower and worse, Katsuki's adapting…"
Zrya turned back around to face a monitor. "So that firecracker has brain cells running in that skull of his…great." She grumbles.
Denki lets out a saddened sigh. "Ugh, both Midoriya and Bakugo are uber-talented. I hate it."
Kyoka deadpanned at the Electrification Quirk user's complaint but still agreed. "Preaching on, blondie."
The Earphone Jack Quirk user wore a black leather jacket, black pants, and boots with stereos built into their shafts. She also wore a salmon-colored shirt with several rips at the collar and hem and white fingerless gloves. She had two small, triangular red paint marks and a plain black choker below her eyes.
Back with Izuku-
Stumbling forward while the back of his jumpsuit emitted smoke, Izuku grunted in pain. "Crap! With the state of my body, I can't move at 13% properly."
Katsuki ran towards him and reeled back his right arm. "Here it comes, nerd! The famous right hook you were whining about!"
The One for All Quirk user quickly noticed and reeled back his left fist in an attempt to backhand the Explosive Quirk user, only for him to duck under it.
But Izuku reeled back his right leg and followed up with a back kick to Katuski's abdomen, discharging green electricity. "AHH!"
As a result, the sandy blond-haired teen slid back a few meters away from the green-haired one, shaking in pain while coughing out blood. "GAH!"
Monitor Room-
"Alright!" Mina commented in joy. "He was able to get another solid hit in!"
"Even though Bakugo is certainly acting like a villain, Midoriya is still putting up a better fight overall." Fumikage chirped in.
The Dark Shadow Quirk user's hero costume is a black robe that becomes dark purple under light. The robe covers the entire body, stopping halfway down the shins, and is paired with knee-high black boots.
All Might continued monitoring his successor, still utterly worried as he shook the microphone in his right hand in fear. "I should've ended this by now. But…for his sake, I'll let it go on.
However, he perked up when Izuku, who had already retracted his mouthplate, stopped panting and slowly backed up, confusing some of his audience.
"Is he running away?" Mina asked.
"Not very manly, but I'm not sure. Unless he's got some kind of plan, who knows…" Ejirou answered with an eyebrow raised.
Back with Izuku-
The One for All Quirk user walked toward a tall window and turned around toward a marching, irritated Explosion Quirk user.
"Why won't you use your full power against me? Still think you can stop me by holding back?!"
Izuku lowered his head and said, "That's not it."
"Maybe your wounds had left you deaf, so lemme ask this one last time! No… better yet, I'll rephrase it in a way so you will understand me!" Katsuki wiped his bloody lips with the back of his left palm.
"Did you think YOU, of all people, thought you were better than me this entire time!?" He sneered, still walking towards him.
"That's what you think?" Izuku asked while gritting his teeth, remembering all of the years spent with him up until now.
The One for All Quirk user looked up in sincerity. "You idiot."
With tears in his eyes, he continued. "You've always been stronger, Kacchan. I know that deep down, you're better than me!"
His balled right fist kept shaking. "Can't you see? That's why I want to beat you! Because you're amazing!"
Confused and angry, the Explosion Quirk user held up his right palm out. "You're even more of an idiot than I realized. COME AT ME!"
Without hesitation, both Quirked teens dashed at each other with determined looks, ready to end this match.
Each of them reeled back their right arm and jumped towards one another.
Katsuki's right palm emitted smoke, ready to ignite it. "RAAAH!"
"RAAAH!" Izuku channeled his Quirk into his hand, clenching his fist as his arm bracer was ripped off. "One for All - 100%! DETRIOT…"
With All Might-
"They're gonna kill each other!" Ejirou exclaimed to their homeroom teacher. "Sir!"
The Symbol Peace began sweating, shaking even more in pure fear.
Walking up next to him and placing a hand on his left shoulder, Tekkan interjected, "Don't worry. Neither of them is dying today but Izuku's team will win."
Zrya, with her arms crossed over her chest, asked curiously, "How so, Tekkan?"
The teenage Saiyan points a thumb at the monitor that showcased their battle, smirking. "Watch and learn."
However, All Might has no intention of finding out as he begins yelling into the microphone, "Both of you, stop-!"
"Uraraka, now!" Izuku's voice interrupts him as he gasps before gazing back at one of the monitors. "Hm?"
With Ochako-
"Right!" Ochako grabbed onto one of the pillars on the building's fifth floor without her helmet on.
Tenya, who stood several meters away from her, gasped in shock, "Don't tell me!"
Back with Izuku-
"I don't have to beat you..." Now, both fighters stood mere inches from each other. "...in this one-on-one fight like this."
"JUST FOR US TO WIN!"
Just as the Explosive Quirk user thrust his right palm forward, the One for All Quirk user held up his left injured forearm, shouting, "SMAAASH!"
He thrust his right fist upward in an uppercut, and a massive shockwave erupted and sliced through the building's ceilings. Katsuki gasped while firing a point-blank explosion at Izuku's face.
Back with Tenya-
On the floor above, Tenya held onto the fake bomb to keep himself balanced, though he quickly noticed Ochako holding a pillar in her arms, thanks to her Quirk.
"What's happening!?" He shouted, noticing a large hole on the floor with debris floating around it.
"This is it! Sorry Iida!" The Zero Gravity Quirk user apologized, swinging the pillar.
"Improvised special move! COMET HOMERUN!" She shouted, whacking multiple cement debris at the Engine Quirk user.
"In the name of villainy, I demand that you stop this!" Tenya screamed desperately, crossing his arms over his face to block the projectiles.
Over his head, Ochako floated past him and pressed her fingertips together, "Release!"
She then landed against the fake bomb, hugging it in relief. "I got it!"
Tenya lowered his arms and turned around, gasping to his horror. "No! The weapon!"
Floor Five-
Katsuki looked up in utter rage to see the floors above them with massive holes connecting all the way to the roof. "This was your big plan…from the very beginning, wasn't it?"
He slowly looked back down to gaze at the smoke cloud before him. "You were playing me this entire time, you bastard!"
"I wasn't…going to go all out."
The sandy blond-haired teen grunts as the cloud clears up around Izuku.
"Because I can't control it." The One for All Quirk user whimpered in pain, sliding back his mask. "My body just can't handle…the backlash of my full power yet." His right arm is mildly swollen and red, with that fist being dark red, while his left arm is charred.
"But this was all…that I…could think of. This is the only way…I had any chance at winning."
Katsuki showed little remorse for his opponent for the first time as his eyes were wide open.
Reverting to his base form from sheer exhaustion and pain, Izuku dropped over to his right side and fell unconscious.
His opponent stood there in silence, his jaw slowly dropping as he let everything sink in.
Monitor Room-
And then the timer blared, ending the match as everyone gazed at Izuku with pure shock and amazement.
All except Tekkan, who gave his biggest simile at one of his closest friend's great accomplishments. "Well done, Izuku!"
"You did it…" All Might whispered in awe at his successors' victory. "Take these words to heart, kids." The number one hero announced before his class, bringing the mic back closer to his face.
"The Hero team WIIIIIINS!"
Preview: After years of build-up, Izuku and Katsuki finally engage in a fierce one-on-one battle during their Battle Trial. Despite sustaining severe injuries through hard work and sheer willpower, Izuku and Ochako ultimately outsmarted the villain team to secure victory as heroes. Now that the first match ended, which teams will be pitted against each other? Will Tekkan fight next, or will he once again spectate another match?
