Things have been going well for Akari until he learns something he never thought would happen. Fuji's engaged! Who is this girl he's engaged to and will she become a problem for Fuji and Akari's friendship?

Chapter Eleven: Engaged!?

Fuji was sitting on the couch in his living looking at the girl across from him. "My son, this is Princess Emiko Oda. Your soon to be wife." His mother told him.

Fuji stood up and bowed. "Fuji Takaro, a pleasure." Fuji smiled and Emiko smiled back.

"She will be transferring to Ouran Academy, look after her." His mother told him looking at him.

"Oh, that's not necessary, I'll be fine." Emiko replied and looked at Fuji. "I hope we can get along for both our sakes." She told him and Fuji nodded.

Akari spat out his drink, coughing before looking at Fuji. "Engaged!?" He exclaimed.

"Yeah, man you act like the world's ending." Fuji chuckled before Akari glared at him. "Look, it'll be fine. I want to get to know her before anything really happens. I don't want to hurt her feelings because I don't want to get married." He told him.

"I don't think I ever seen you look at anyone more than a glance... Except when it came to getting me and Honey together." Akari muttered.

Fuji simply shrugged. "Hey, I want my friend to be happy and look at you now!" He grinned at him.

"Why am I friends with you?"Akari muttered.

"Because you looooove me." Fuji replied hugging him happily as Akari sighed before Fuji suddenly let go. "Oh yeah! She'll be coming to school with me too so you'll be able to meet her. If you don't like her I'll call it off." He told him before standing. "Okay, gotta go, bye!" He said quickly before hurrying off before Akari could say something to him.

The brunette groaned and watched his friend leave. He shouldn't be the deciding factor in Fuji's future. This was just like Fuji to do such a thing... But yet again he was curious too. She'll be around more often and he is curious to see how Fuji acts around her.

"And this is my best friend, Akari." Fuji smiled as he introduced Emiko to Akari.

"A pleasure." Emiko smiled holding her hand out and Akari shook her hand. "I hope me being here doesn't stop you two from being friends." She said and Fuji just wrapped his arm around Akari's shoulders.

"You don't have to worry about that, Emiko, we're thick as thieves." Fuji grinned as Akari was busy trying to see who she was.

The bell soon rang and Emiko excused herself while heading to class.

"What you think?" Fuji asked as they walked to class.

"I don't know, she's polite, but I don't have an opinion on her." Akari replied.

"Yeah, that's my first impression too, but so far she's nice. I'm sure she just needs time to get comfortable." Fuji smiled and the brunette looked at him.

"How do you feel about her, feeling wise? If you keep making me talk about feelings you are too." Akari told him.

Fuji just grinned. "Can't say, I don't really know yet, but really as long as we both get along and respect each other I don't mind being married to her." Fuji hummed walking ahead which just left Akari with more questions than answers.

"Fu-chan's engaged?" Honey asked and Akari nodded as they were in the host club.

"Really? He's the last person who I thought would get engaged." The twins commented.

"She transferred to your class, Emiko Oda." Akari told them.

"Her? She's nothing like Fuji, what even is his type?" The twins asked.

"How should I know, he's never dated anyone or tried flirting with anyone, it's arranged so I bet if he wasn't he would never get married." Akari rubbed his temple.

Haruhi walked over. "You seem to care more about this than Fuji senpai. I'm sure he knows what he's doing."

Honey reached over and rubbed his back. "Yeah Haru-chan's right I'm sure you have nothing to worry about." He told him smiling and Akari sighed.

"I hope so." He muttered eating a slice of cake when Honey slid a plate over to him.

It's been a week and no new development has happened involving Emiko and Fuji. Well Emiko has been joining Fuji during lunch and free periods from what Akari has seen, though as soon as Fuji leaves he can see her sigh and walk off.

He didn't know why he was even doing this, he shouldn't bother... But it was involving Fuji and he could see Fuji didn't see what he was seeing. All Akari's problem is confronting her about it... Which he can't do alone. He still isn't very social to other people, despite going to the host club every day and dating one of the members.

What he didn't expect the next was her approaching him. "May I speak with you privately, Akari?" Emiko asked him and Akari blinked from his book looking at the girl in front of him.

"Alright." Akari said and followed her outside to the garden where no one else was there.

"You've known Fuji for a long time, how can I get him to like me?" She asked which threw out Akari's original thought that she didn't like him.

"W-What do you mean?" He asked and she sighed.

"Well I expected him to treat me a little differently than everyone else since we're engaged. I'm not really complaining, it's nice that he sees me as an equal than a princess, but I feel he doesn't like me as a couple should, he just doesn't seem interested." She told him while messing with the ends of her hair.

Akari felt a bit bad for her as he can see she liked Fuji. "I... I don't think I'll be of any help." He told her as she looked dejected before he continued. "I never saw him interested in a relationship with anybody, if you want to try, I think it'll be better to confront Fuji about it himself because he's the only person who can explain himself." He told her.

Emiko looked away a bit but nodded. "Thank you, I'll leave you back to your reading." She told him and headed back inside. All Akari could do was do the same. He really didn't know what he was doing, but he did want to help and see what happens.

Fuji was walking through the halls when Emiko approached him. "Emiko, hi!" He said smiling.

"We need to talk." She told him making him sweat a bit.

"Am I in trouble?" He asked already trying to think of how he messed up again. He's been put through the wringer ever since his Akari and Honey matchmaking plan because of how he did it. So he can be a bit much, he knows this now.

"No you're not, I just want confirmation." She told him leading the way as Fuji followed her to a more secluded place. As soon as they were out in the gardens alone she turned and faced Fuji.

Fuji was feeling nervous despite her saying he wasn't in trouble, it seemed really important so he didn't want to say the wrong thing to her. "Do you like me?-" She asked him and Fuji looked at her.

"What? Yeah of course I do!" Fuji said before Emiko cut him off like how he cut her off.

"No, I mean do you have feelings for me? I've been trying to get your attention and just wanting something to happen that isn't just friendly banter." She told him and looked away from him. He was simply shocked to hear her say this. He didn't expect her to have feelings for him, at least not so soon.

"I... It's complicated. You're nice and I'm glad I got to meet you, you're pretty cool to hang out with. I just... Um." He rubbed the back of his neck looking down for a second trying to collect his thoughts. "Alright, just let me think of how to explain this." He told her taking a breath. "I look at you and when you're happy I'm happy, I have to be blunt though that I don't feel the urges to kiss you deeply or do more than that if you know what I mean. I just like the idea of hanging out with you and doing stuff more than what friends do like hugs and stuff like that." he groaned as he felt he wasn't saying it how he wanted.

Emiko just looked at him seeing him get frustrated over his words. "So, I want to understand. Are you asexual?" She asked and Fuji perked up at the word.

"Yeah, that's the word. I'm sorry I didn't get what you were doing despite us being engaged. It's ironic since I can see when it happens to other people. I'm not used to being with anyone, but I promise I'll do my best to make sure you feel special and I do like you." He told her and held her hands smiling down at her.

She didn't expect Fuji to hold her hands like that and blushed from the contact and smiled softly. "No, you don't need to do anything differently. It makes me feel better to know how you work." She said smiling.

"You make me sound like a machine when you say it like that." Fuji told her and she laughed.

"I'm sorry." She said but she was laughing. She made him bend down and she kissed his cheek causing Fuji's eyes to widen and smiled.

Fuji put a hand on his cheek standing straight up again and blushed lightly. "Well I think if you do stuff like that I can give you affection back." He said grinning and hugged her.

"Good." She simply said enjoying the hug.

"So things look like they're sorted out now." Honey told Akari with a smile as they were sitting together in the lunch room watching how Emiko seemed happier now more than ever and Fuji being more affectionate towards her.

"Yeah, that's good, maybe he'll stop butting into our relationship now." Akari muttered but he saw Fuji look at him and grin at him heading over with his lunch tray with Emiko following him.

"Hello love birds!" Fuji said happily as Akari sighed but Honey giggled.

"Not a chance." Honey told Akari smiling seeing how Fuji still wanted to hang with Akari even with a partner of his own.

Akari sighed. "You two are love birds now too you know." He told Fuji.

"I know, I also know it bugs you." Fuji said snickering and put his arm around Akari's shoulders. "Now we can go on double dates together! Won't that be fun?" He said and Akari glared at him.

"I think it would, what do you think Honey-Senpai?" Emiko said giggling and Honey smiled back.

"Yeah! That sounds like a swell idea!" Honey said much to Akari's displeasure.

"I'm being attacked, it's not fair." Akari replied and Honey giggled kissing his cheek.

"Attacked with love." Honey corrected him happily.

"It's just an excuse for him to bug me." Akari pouted slightly and Fuji poked his cheek making his eye twitch slightly.

"Maybe but I know you love me!" Fuji told him grinning and hugging him happily. Akari just sighed but he didn't deny it a small smile on his face.
