Time Period: A flashback-Sometime in December of 2010
Place: River Court
Situation: Lucas and Peyton (seven months pregnant) had a huge heated argument about Lucky's down syndrome. Lucas abruptly left the house out of anger. Peyton and Sawyer discovered him shooting hoops at River Court.
Peyton (carrying Sawyer, she experiences shortness of breath as she approaches lucas): Lucas
Lucas (helping Peyton to sit down on the bleachers): Please sit down and rest. You need to take it easy in your condition. You are pregnant afterall.
Peyton (places Sawyer in Lucas' arms): You can hold Sawyer
Lucas: Well thanks
Peyton (choked up): Sawyer makes you so happy. Will you show this same kind of compassion toward Lucky who has down syndrome?
Lucas: Honestly, I am not ready to raise a baby with down syndrome.
(And then Peyton breaks down in tears. Peyton cries on the behalf her unborn baby (Lucky). Lucas feels guilty for breaking her heart.)
Lucas (remorseful): I am sorry for breaking your heart
Peyton (sniffling): At least you were honest
Lucas: What is your plan?
Peyton: I am stuck at a crossroads. I am torn between keeping Lucky or not.
