Chapter 2: 'New Friend'

Note: My grammar will be more off from now on due to me not being able to use Grammarly on my phone. Enjoy~~~

A new friend was the first thing that came to mind when I met Rin Hiyama.

It was weird why she just suddenly grabbed my hand so casually as she pulled me with her, not like I mind. I mean, don't get me wrong; it's very rude to do that to someone you just met, but I don't really mind, and I don't even know why I seem fine about her holding my hand. But honestly, it feels right somehow, her hand in mine, it feels right

We ran through the halls, passing by students, teachers, and staff. I noticed how most of them greeted her and she greeted back. Is she popular here? I can't assume because it may just be that we coincidentally pass by people that Lia knows.

But anyway, she is really interesting. First off, she has blonde hair and blue eyes, like me. She also has blue eyes, and her having blue eyes means her parents both have blue eyes, because of genetics. I don't know if I'm right or wrong. She seemed to be more petite than other girls and less developed than them, but her name, Rin Hiyama, I feel like I know that name. I decided to just stop thinking about it for now.

"We're here! Room 10-A," Rin said as we stopped at a door with the sign on it "10-A". "Thanks, Rin," I said, forming a small smile towards her. She was blushing a bit, was she the bashful type? "Oh, it's nothing, Len," She said with a small chuckle.

"Now come on, let's go inside," she said. She opened the door, and a room full of students chattering among themselves appeared behind the door. Chuckles, laughter, and some gossiping could be heard. I also noticed some students shying away, some engrossed in their books, others just drawing on their sketchpads or other stuff. It was what you would expect to see in a classroom.

"So, how is it? do you feel at home?" Rin said with a wide grin, her hands on her hips as she stood proudly before me. "Well, not at home, but I can manage," I said with a chuckle.I think I can manage, in the end, this classroom was like any other classroom, loud, filled with many personalities.

"Rin!" A voice called out to Rin. It was a girl taller then her, teal hair with twin pony tails, she wore a bright smile as she tackled Rin in a tight embrace. Poor Rin, she couldn't breathe due to the tight embrace of her friend. Rin tried to say something, but she couldn't as she struggled to speak words. Deciding that Rin had enough, I said; "Uh, I think Rin needs some air,".

Awkward silence filled the space between the three of us. The girl looked at me as she finally let go of Rin, her attention now on me, which made me nervous. "I'm Len, I'm a transferee," I said with a shaky hand and nervous smile.

"Rin, you never mentioned me about your twin brother!" The girl said as she now tackled me in a tight emrbace. I can barely breathe as she emrbaces me tightly.

"H..elp," I gasped out. "Miku! calm down, he cant breath!" Rin said with a raised voice filled with more concern that intrigued me, it was as if Miku was hurting a prized postof hers that made her voice rise like that.

"o-oh, sorry!" Miku said, letting me go and bowing apologitcally to me. "Yeah, it's fine. Just don't do it again," I said with a sheepish chuckle. "And me and Rin just met today, we're not related," I added to clear any misunderstandings between my relation with Rin. "Wait, really?" Miku said turning to Rin, which Rin nodded. "Wow! not related but you two look so similar," Miku said. "Yeah, i noticed to, funny right?" I said, chuckling.

Miku nodded earnestly.

"Anyways, I think we should have Len get himself a seat," Rin said, chiming in. "Oh yeah! I'm sorry," Miku said and I just nodded, accepting her apology. Rin then guided me to an empty seat, which was next to hers. Miku's seat was next to hers.

The day went on, i introduced myself when the teacher arrived. I did my best to pay attention, Miku was extremely nice, Rin was also nice, kind and energetic, not ad energetic as Miku, overall, it was good.

I waved goodbye to Rin before I went my way home.

My house wasn't far from here, just a few blocks away. If I walk fast enough, it takes only a few minutes to get there. I soon arrived at my house.

It was modest, not big or fancy. I went inside and greeted my Mom.

"Hello dear, how was your first day?" She said in her usual sweet voice full of affection.

"It was fun, mom," I said as I laid my bag down on the couch and then took a seat to have a little talk with mom.

"That's good! Did you make any new friends?" She said eagerly, obviously wanting to know if I did. It was obvious she wanted me to say yes, and that's what I said. "Yes, their names are Kaito Shion; an ice cream addict, Miku Hatsune; very energetic like she is on a sugar rush, and Rin Hiyama; a very kind girl, although she and I look very similar," I explained.

"Rin?" She said in disbelief. "Yes, Rin. Is there a problem, Mom?" I asked. "Rin is a new friend of mine mom, no need to worry, she won't be a bad influence," I reassured, trying to remove any doubts she had on Rin.

"Len, I forgot. You don't remember her, do you?" She said in a softer tone. "You mean she is?" I said. Was she implying I knew her before I got amnesia? That question was soon answered when she slowly nodded, a hint of melancholy on her expression.

It was now clear; Rin Hiyama and I used to be friends.
