Her dreams were crushed though when she was told she was quirkless, but an unexpected meeting with a special friend gave her back her dream. Chapter 5: Madame Grape and the Sour Bunch

The students who didn't get teleported and Thirteen were facing off against Kurogiri. He was blocking the exit so they couldn't escape.

"Iida, I need you to escape and run to the school for help."

Thirteen said.

"What!? You can't expect me to abandon you."

"They're trying to make sure we don't get out. That leads me to believe that it's only the USJ that is under attack. If you get out, they won't follow you, and you can get help. You're the fastest out of everyone here Iida. Now is the time to be a hero."

"Surely you're not foolish enough to strategize in front of me!"

Kurogiri said as he sent a wave of mist at Thirteen.

"It won't matter once I'm done with you! Black Hole!"

Thirteen opened up a port on one of her fingers and it was sucking up Kurogiri and his mist.

"Ah, Black Hole, a powerful quirk indeed. But you specialize in rescues and lack combat awareness."

Kurogiri opened up a portal in front of Thirteen and one behind her. Thirteen's eyes widened in horror as she felt her quirk tear apart her back.

"No, Thirteen!"

Uraraka yelled as she watched Thirteen fall.

"Sorry kids, he got me."

Thirteen weakly said. With the hero taken care of, Kurogiri turned his attention to the students.

"Iida, now's the time to escape."

Shoji said. Iida tried to run, but Kurogiri appeared in front of him.

"I won't let you!"

He was about to swallow Iida up, but Shoji jumped forward and wrapped Kurogiri in his arms.

"I got him! Run Iida!"

Iida ran to the doors, but without power, he had to push them manually. He began to push them open, but Kurogiri broke free of Shoji's grasp and flew towards Iida.

"I've had enough of you. BEGONE!"

Kurogiri created a large cloud of mist that was about to engulf Iida. But Uraraka had snuck up on Kurogiri and used her quirk on a metal brace she saw in the mist.

"I may not know how your quirk works, but I'm guessing this is your real body!"

Kurogiri began to float up and away from Iida. Sero then shot his tape and hit the metal bracer. He handed the other end to Sato who spun around Kurogiri around before throwing him away. Iida managed to open the doors and ran towards U.A. to get help.

"This isn't good. He'll bring reinforcements for the heroes. I must inform Tomura."

Kurogiri said as he vanished into one of his portals. With Aizawa, he was still taking out villains while Tomura watched him. After watching for a while, he rushed forward to attack. Aizawa saw this and threw out an elbow at Tomura, but he caught it.

"You know Erasure Head, you shouldn't push yourself. You might just end up falling apart."

Aizawa looked to see his arm starting to decay. He activated his quirk on Tomura to stop the spread and tried to kick him away. Tomura was able to jump back to avoid being kicked. Aizawa jumped back while his damaged arm went limp.

"It was hard to see earlier because of all your jumping around, but I found your tell. It's your hair."

Aizawa's eyes widened in shock that the villain had discovered his quirk's weakness.

"When it's standing up it means it's active, and you use those goggles to keep people guessing as to who you're staring at. Impressive, but still, your quirk isn't suited to long-drawn-out battles against groups and it shows. You're pushing your quirk to its limit and the time you can keep it active is getting shorter and shorter. But even when disadvantaged you still leaped into the fray to protect your students. Man you're cool, oh, and I'm not the final boss by the way. He is."

Tomura pointed behind Aizawa. He turned to see the bird villain punch him into the ground. The bird villain pinned Aizawa to the ground. He turned to face the villain and activated his quirk, but the villain broke his remaining arm in response.

"What!? I'm sure I erased his quirk! Does that mean he's strong without it?"

Aizawa thought. A distance away, Izumi, Asui, and Mineta watched in horror as the bird villain had Aizawa in its grasp.

"Oh no. Aizawa's in trouble."

"I know, but what the hell are we supposed to do!?"

Asui and Mineta said. Izumi was thinking of a way to help her teacher. She was going over which costume would be best in this situation. As she was pondering over this, Kurogiri appeared next to Tomura.

"So, did you take care of those kids Kurogiri?"

"I'm sorry Tomura, but run of them has escaped. He will no doubt bring more heroes."

"What!?"

Tomura began to scratch at his neck furiously.

"If you weren't our way out, I would kill you. Turn every one of your atoms into dust!"

Tomura suddenly stopped and looked up to the sky.

"Then it's done. Game over. Back to the title screen."

"Hey, did you hear that? They're leaving!"

Mineta said while grabbing Asui's chest. She shoved him into the water before addressing Izumi.

"Yeah, but do you think they'll just leave like that?"

"No, they should know that U.A. will buff up its security after this. If they want to kill All Might, now is the best chance they have."

As Izumi was thinking about this, she noticed Tomura turn and look straight at her.

"But first, let's kill some kids and break the number one hero's heart."

In an instant, Tomura was upon the three and about to grab Asui. She remembered what his quirk did and panicked as he grabbed Asui's face, but nothing happened.

"Man, you really are so cool Erasure Head."

Aizawa had forced his head up to disable Tomura's quirk. The bird villain slammed Aizawa's head into the ground to stop him. Izumi took this chance to change into her Mighty form and throw a punch at Tomura.

"Get away from her!"

She had charged fifteen percent of One for All into the attack and a large dust cloud formed where she had attacked. Izumi thought she had hit Tomura, but looked in horror to see the bird villain had taken the attack. What's worse was that he seemed unaffected by her punch.

"But that was my Mighty strength combined with One for All! How is he still standing?"

"Hey that was some punch, did All Might train you? And what's with that outfit? How did you change so quickly? It doesn't matter, you're dead. Nomu, finish her."

Nomu reached out to Izumi while Tomura reached out to Asui. Thinking fast, Izumi stomped the ground and lifted the part where Nomu and Tomura were standing. She threw it sending them flying. They both landed but were a good distance away.

"Man, you're strong and smart. You couldn't hurt Nomu so you sent us away. That kind of potential is wasted at U.A.. Are you sure you want to be a hero? We can offer you so much more."

Tomura offered.

"I will never join you!"

Izumi said with conviction. Tomura just threw up his hands while shaking his head.

"Such a shame. Still, that power is too useful to leave with U.A.. Nomu, capture her, we're bringing her back with us."

Izumi got ready for a fight. She was thinking about what to do. Nomu could withstand her strength and his strength was devasting. Strong enough to match All Might if she believed Tomura's words. She needed a way to redirect that strength.

"Wait, that's it!"

Izumi changed from her Mighty form into her Kung-Fu form.

"What's this? What are you now? Some kind of martial arts master? Whatever, Nomu, get her, we need to leave already."

Nomu rushed forward to grab Izumi, but she was able to parry and redirect his attack away.

"What!?"

Tomura was shocked at how easily she redirected Nomu's attack.

"The heroes are on their way. I just need to hold him off until then."

Izumi said as she took a fighting stance. This infuriated Shigaraki.

"Nomu! Get her already!"

Nomu rushed forward with another punch, but Izumi once again deflected the attack. This kept going while Tomura, Asui, and Mineta watched.

"Amazing."

"So cool! I can't believe she's going toe-to-toe with the villain that beat Aizawa."

Asui and Mineta said in awe. Tomura on the other hand was not happy. He scratched his neck furiously at what was happening. His Nomu, who was supposed to be strong enough to kill All Might, was being toyed with by some girl.

"Damn it! Forget capturing you, you're dust!"

Tomura rushed forward with the intent to kill Izumi. But she had redirected one of Nomu's punches towards Shigaraki. Shigaraki watched in fear as the punch was about to connect, but Nomu had stopped right before he hit Tomura.

"Clever bitch."

Tomura said as he turned toward Izumi. Nomu rushed forward again and unleashed a barrage of punches. Izumi kept parrying and redirecting them but it was tough. Nomu was faster and stronger than her. She was barely able to keep up. Tomura leaped at her to attack from above.

"Try that trick now!"

"Okay."

Izumi redirected the attack like before, but instead of redirecting Nomu's fist, she redirected Tomura's open hand to Nomu's chest.

"NO!"

Tomura screamed as he realized what he had done. Nomu's flesh began to decay and fall apart. It tried desperately to rip off the skin that was decaying, but the spread was too fast. Soon Nomu had completely decayed and turned into dust.

"No, this wasn't supposed to happen. No, no, no, no, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! YOU! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!"

Tomura screamed as he glared at Izumi. Izumi got ready for a fight as Tomura got up. But before they could start, the doors to the USJ busted open.

"It's okay now students, you do not need to fear. And do you know why? Because I AM HERE."

All Might said as he entered the building. While the students were elated, they also noticed that he wasn't smiling.

"Damn, the final boss is here and we just lost our trump card. Kurogiri! We're leaving!"

"Yes, Tomura."

Kurogiri opened a portal that Tomura walked through, but not before he glared at Izumi.

"This isn't over bitch. I swear, I'll kill you and All Might. I swear it."

He said as he walked through the portal and it vanished. All Might had just appeared after knocking out all the villains and grabbing Aizawa.

"Young Midoriya, are you okay?"

"Yeah, All Might. Just..."

At that moment Izumi fell to her knees as she transformed back into her base form.

"Young Midoriya!"

"I'm just tired All Might. That villain was tough. It was fortunate the other villain's quirk worked on him. Oh, I did kind of kill the other villain though. Am I going to be arrested or expelled?"

"No, this was self-defense. You were put into a situation where you had to choose between his life and yours. I'm sorry, I should've been here. If I was you wouldn't have had to suffer that terrible situation."

"It's fine All Might. I'm just glad it's over. What about Aizawa?"

"He's injured, but he'll live. He needs medical treatment quickly though. Same with Thirteen. Come on, let's go, everyone. And that includes you three as well."

All Might said looking to the side where Bakugo, Kirishima, and Todoroki were standing.

"Huh? When did you three get here?"

Mineta asked.

"When Izu managed to make the hand villain kill the bird one. We saw the fight as we were running here though."

Bakugo answered.

"Man, Midoriya was so cool!"

Kirishima said. But Bakugo scowled and smacked his head at this.

"That's the first thing that comes to your mind? Izu was forced to kill and is exhausted, you moron! Damn it. If only I was faster."

"It's fine Kacchan. Everything... worked... ou..."

Izumi couldn't finish her sentence as she collapsed.

"IZU!"
"IZU!"
"MIDORIYA!"
"YOUNG MIDORIYA!"

Everyone was concerned for her well-being and rushed to her side.

"She's fine, just exhausted. Fighting that bird villain took a lot out of her."

Stella explained.

"We need to get her, Aizawa, and Thirteen medical attention immediately. Can someone carry young Midoriya?"

"I got it."

Bakugo carefully picked up Izumi to carry her back to U.A..

"Good, now I need someone to carry Aizawa."

"I'll do it."

"I'll help."

Kirishima and Asui said. All Might carefully handed Aizawa to them.

"What about you All Might?"

Todoroki asked.

"Many of your classmates are still trapped in the disaster zones around the USJ. I'm off to save them."

Everyone nodded and left to their destinations completely unaware of the purple person recording them.

"Heh heh heh. This should make for an interesting story."

The purple person said as he jumped into a purple portal. Soon the other teachers arrived and the remaining villains were captured while all the students were rescued. Aizawa and Thirteen were taken to the hospital to get their wounds treated while Izumi was sent to Recovery Girls office to rest. Luckily she hadn't sustained any major injuries and had just pushed herself to the point of exhaustion.

At an unknown bar

Kurogiri and Tomura come out of a portal having failed their mission.

"So how did it go?"

A voice coming from a TV displaying [Audio Only] on its screen asked.

"That Nomu was pathetic, master."

Tomura bitterly answered.

"So it couldn't defeat All Might then."

"It didn't even get the chance to fight All Might! Some girl was able to hold it off."

"Oh, this student managed to defeat Nomu?"

Another voice asked.

"Uh, no, she managed to use my quirk to kill it."

"She's able to steal quirks!? Or can she merely copy them?"

"No, she managed to move my hand to Nomu's chest."

Tomura hesitantly answered, still embarrassed that Izumi made him kill his trump card. Someone began to laugh out loud after hearing this.

"How amusing! That girl managed to pull off a twist in the middle of the performance. Making the mastermind kill his champion. Oh, marvelous. I can't wait to see what else she could do."

Tomura and Kurogiri looked at the laughter and saw Vio Liettie sitting on one of the bar stools.

"You."

"Hello, little Tomura. Kurogiri, my drinks."

"Yes, of course! I'll get right on it!"

Kurogiri rushed to get Vio her drinks with newfound purpose and fear. Tomura just stood there, annoyed by Izumi's victory over him and his Nomu.

"That damn bitch. Her power is cheating!"

"How so, Tomura?"

"It reminds me of yours master. She has multiple abilities, but she has to wear a different costume for each one. It's so stupid and unfair. You can't just get new powers by wearing different clothes!"

"Sounds like a powerful quirk."

The other voice commented. Vio started to laugh at that.

"Oh, dear doctor, it's not a quirk."

"What!? But how? Wait, is it like your power? Does it come from that world?"

"Oh great. More talk about this 'other world' you like to drone on about. I still don't believe it."

"Believe what you will, little Tomura. But the proof is sitting right in front of you, and it defeated you."

Kurogiri gave Vio her drink. She was surrounded by a dark purple mist before a velvet hand grabbed the glass.

"If you say so, Grape."

"That's Madame Grape boy!"

The now-revealed Madame Grape shouted. She wore a deep purple and blue puffy dress, a purple bluish top hat, white velvet gloves with emeralds embroidered on the cuffs, and finally a gold theatre mask covering her face. She drank the drink before chuckling.

"Excellent service as always Kurogiri. Are you sure there's no way I can convince you to join my theatre troop? I believe you could be one of my best performers."

"Apologies, Madame Grape, but I am loyal to Tomura and All for One."

Kurogiri answered.

"A pity."

"Hey! Before you start one of your dramatic monologues, what about that brat? You said her power came from your world."

Tomura demanded. Madame Grape glared at him before letting out a small laugh.

"Oh, little Tomura, impatient as always. You should learn to have patience boy. Good things come to those who wait."

"I asked for information on the bitch who killed my Nomu, not cheap fortune cookie advice!"

Madame Grape didn't take kindly to Tomura's outburst and was in his face in a second.

"Careful, boy. I'm stronger than All for One, and I don't take kindly to disrespect."

Tomura just groaned at this.

"Still, I suppose I should tell you about the girl who beat you."

Grape took out some photos of Izumi taken during the practical Each one from when she used a different outfit.

"Izumi Midoriya, quirk: ShowTime. Allows her to gain different abilities depending on the outfit she's wearing. Ha! What a farce. The truth of that power is that it's not a quirk, it belongs to Stella."

Grape then showed a photo of Stella floating beside Izumi.

"She claims to be part of Izumi's quirk, but that is a lie. The truth is she is a Sparkle Sprite. Able to use the power of Sparkle to give those she aids power."

"Sparkle? What the hell is that?"

"It's essentially the power of theatre, boy. It allows the user to truly live the part they play. With it, Izumi can truly become a cowgirl, a swordfighter, a ninja, and so on, and so on. Still, how did Stella follow me here? If she's here, does that mean that pink princess is here as well?"

Grape said these words with a venomous tone.

"Oh, an old friend followed you here?"

Tomura asked.

"Hmm, I don't know. If she did, then why does Izumi have the power of Sparkle? I need to investigate this Izumi Midoriya. And I know how. Time for a play."

At Grape's words, many purple people appeared in the bar. One of them came with a camcorder.

"I got the video, Madame Grape."

"Excellent! Now,"

The mist covered Grape and she was turned back into Vio Liettie.

"It's time to continue the deconstruction of hero society."

"Excellent. Please, continue Madame Grape. In the meantime, you need to recover from this defeat Tomura while I stay in the shadows. Remember, you must become a symbol of your own. A powerful one to spread fear amongst the heroes and society as a whole."

"Yes, master."

The next day

Izumi was at home as U.A. was closed for the next couple of days so the police could perform an investigation into the USJ incident. She was in her room lifting weights and researching different character archetypes, trying to think of other outfits to add to her repertoire. Inko suddenly ran into her room.

"Izumi, on the TV, their covering the USJ incident."

"What, already?"

Izumi and Stella went into the living room to see what they were saying about the incident.

"Hey, isn't that the reporter that tried to interview you, Izumi?"

"Yeah, it is."

Izumi answered Stella. On the screen, Vio Liettie was going over the incident.

"Hello, Vio Liettie here to bring you the juiciest news out there! I have something big for you all. We here at Vine-Fruit News have acquired a video of the USJ attack. Let's cut to the action!"

The video showed Nomu beating Aizawa before Tomura rushed to kill Izumi and her friends. Then it showed Izumi fighting the Nomu and redirecting Tomura's attack to kill Nomu. Finally, it showed All Might showing up after the battle and Izumi collapsing due to exhaustion.

"Amazing."

Vio's co-host said.

"How did you get this video, Vio?"

"Turns out one of the villains who escaped managed to record the whole thing. He placed the video for sale on the internet and we managed to get it first."

"I see, but isn't this video better in the hands of the police?"

"The police would have edited the video to make All Might look good and cover up the real problem."

"What problem?"

"The problem with U.A.. During the attack, only two teachers were there to protect the students. They were both taken out leaving the students to fend for themselves. The girl we saw fighting the villains pushed herself to the brink just to survive. And she was even forced to kill. They have All Might for goodness sake! Where was he!? He only showed up after the fight was over. If he had been there earlier, then this whole tragedy could have been prevented. How can U.A. pride itself on being the best hero school when it allows its students to face such threats? We can't just brush this under the rug. We need to seriously question if U.A. can protect its students. Are the teachers qualified? Is there security up to date? I believe the school should be fully investigated to see if it can provide the safety its students deserve. What the hell is the staff doing? And then there's All Might. It was revealed that the villains came to kill All Might. We need to seriously question U.A.'s decision-making if they're willing to put their students in danger by hiring All Might."

Izumi muted the TV, not wanting to hear Vio insult the school anymore.

"Izumi."

Inko said in concern.

"Reporters. In just one day she's already trying to turn the public against All Might and U.A.."

"I know Stella. But still, I don't think it will work. All Might is the number one Hero and U.A. is the best hero school in the world. There's no way the public would turn against them, right?"

"Well, from a parent's perspective, I agree with the reporter."

"Mom!"

"Now hear me out, Izumi. I'm sure All Might and the staff at U.A. are doing their best to protect the students, but this attack has shaken the faith most have in them. You told me yourself, that the villains came to kill All Might and for some reason, he was late for the class, so they shifted their focus onto you and your classmates. It's a miracle that none of the students were seriously injured. If you were hurt, I, I, I'm sorry, but I would have pulled you out of that school the next day."

Izumi just stood there in shock at her mother's words. She suddenly ran back to her room and shut the door.

"Izumi!"

Inko called after her daughter. In another part of the city, Mineta was waiting for the bus to run some errands. Madame Grape and her minions were in a nearby alley watching him.

"You know what to do?"

"Yes, Madame Grape! We won't fail!"

"Good, now go."

Four minions changed their appearance thanks to Grape's magic and took the forms of two high school boys and two high school girls. They got onto the bus with Mineta and looked at their phones. That's when they launched their plan.

"Hey! Aren't you a student from U.A.?"

One of the imposters asked.

"Hmm, oh yeah, I am."

Mineta answered.

"I saw you on TV today when Vine-Fruit News did that report on the USJ attack."

"Hehe, yeah, it was a terrifying experience. But like a true hero, I fought bravely to protect my classmates."

Mineta bluffed, trying to impress the two girls.

"Ha! Yeah right! You were peeing yourself the whole time, loser!"

One of the imposter girls said.

"Huh!?"

"Yeah, I saw it in the video. You just clung onto the frog girl the whole time that green-haired girl fought the villain. Heck, you even tried to grope the frog girl when you had the chance. Creep!"

"Sheesh, they let this guy into U.A.? Their standards must be dropping."

"Obviously. If they let guys like this into the hero course, then it's no wonder why they were attacked."

Mineta was getting nervous as all the other passengers were looking at them and whispering amongst themselves.

"Why are you in the hero course if you're just going hide like a coward?"

"He probably just wanted to meet girls. How pathetic."

"Man, if that's all it takes to get into U.A., then we're in trouble."

"Who knows, maybe this incident will shape them up? And they'll kick out this perverted loser."

"Yeah, he's nothing but a short, perverted loser. Man, look how small he is."

"His package must be even smaller. Can't imagine any girl would get with him."

The imposters continued to mock Mineta and started to laugh at him. Mineta just stood there, their words cutting deep as tears began to fall from his eyes. When the bus stopped, he ran out and into the back of an alley. Once he was alone, he broke down in tears.

"Damn it! Damn it! DAMN IT! Those bastards don't know what they were talking about. I mean, who wouldn't be scared during a villain attack? I'd like to see what they would do. The bastards. I'm not a loser. I'm not."

"Oh, you poor child."

A voice called out to Mineta. He turned to see he was surrounded by darkness.

"Huh? Who's there?"

"Someone who's taken an interest in you, Minoru Mineta."

"Really?"

"Yes. I'm interested in how small and weak you are. Running at the first sign of danger, while Izumi faced the villain head-on. My, how did someone as weak as you get into U.A.?"

This tore into Mineta and broke him even more.

"At this rate, you'll never achieve your dream."

"Oh yeah? What the hell do you know about my dream?"

"I know that you want girls to like you. That's your whole reason for joining U.A.. Ever since middle school it's been your goal."

A portal opened up in front of Mineta and showed images from his past where he was ignored by girls no matter what he did. Flowers, compliments, gifts, nothing worked. Every time, saying that he was too short and that they didn't like his personality. Finally, when the U.A. entrance exams were announced, he thought that this was his chance. If he was a hero, then girls would like him no matter what. Or, at least that's what he thought.

"Damn it. It's not fair. I tried my best. I really did."

"I know you did Mineta. But sadly, life isn't fair. However, I know of a way to reach your goal. All you need is power."

"Huh? Power?"

"Yes. Just look at Bakugo. He's a rude and uncouth bastard, but Izumi loves him."

The portal then showed Izumi and Bakugo hanging out. With Izumi smiling the whole time she was with Bakugo.

"That bastard. Why does she like him but not me?"

"Because of his power Mineta. It doesn't matter how ugly a man looks, or how short he is, or even if he has a winning personality. As long as he has power, women will always want him. Bakugo is a testament to that."

"Yeah, it makes total sense. He's an asshole! No one would like him if he wasn't so strong! But what can I do? My quirk is nowhere near as strong as his."

"I can help."

Madame Grape reveals herself. She reaches out her hand to Mineta as a purple ball of magic power forms within it.

"Take my gift of power, and you can have all the girls you want."

"Really? It'll be that easy?"

"Yes, all you have to do is accept my gift."

"I'll do it then!"

Mineta grabbed Grape's hand and dark magic engulfed him

"I hope you're ready, Izumi Midoriya. Because it's showtime!"
