Battle for Beacon
Weiss and Blake were annoyed…Okay, saying they were simply annoyed would be a gross oversimplification. They were in turmoil. First, Ruby interrupts the fight, then someone hacked the feeds and made everyone panic, which was followed by the Grimm. Now, the Grimm are slaughtering any innocent people around. Blake and Weiss were doing their best to slaughter any Grimm in the area, but there were just so many of them. And the fact that the substantially higher negativity among the common folk almost made the monsters ignore the two huntresses didn't help matters. So, between the two of them and Dahlia, they just couldn't save everyone. That's not to say that they couldn't save anyone. They did help many people to get into ships that would take them to the shelters.
"This just can't be happening," Weiss said, still unable to comprehend this. The heiress knew that she would eventually see people dying, but not in droves like this so soon. Even the Breach had relatively small casualties.
"But it is," Dahlia said with a sad tone, the ice bunny said as she threw her bitball into a beowolf that tried to get a little too close. Dahlia hated using cold logic, but this was not a time to stop.
With all of the civilians gone, Blake was able to call Yang, "Yang, where are you right now?"
"Running outside, the White Fang's letting Grimm into the school," the blonde said from her end of the line.
"The White Fang is here!?" Blake exclaimed, right before growling, screeching and a familiar roar sounded out. "Yang!?" the faunus shouted in concern.
"Sorry, gotta go! Can't let Drag show me up," With that weak attempt at humor, Yang cut the call.
As much as Blake didn't want her partner to end the call, she was at least relieved that Dragunov was with her. Which reminded her, where was Nox right now?
"Blake come on," Weiss then said, earning the black-haired girl's attention.
"We need to get to the school," Weiss said and with that, the two ran off to the direction of the school.
Meanwhile back at the airship that Ruby and the others found, they were now on their way to Beacon. Among them was a concerned Nox. As far as the dark Blade was concerned, this flying tin can wasn't moving fast enough.
But then they saw something terrible, the airship that Ironwood was inside of suddenly exploded from the inside.
"What in the world caused that!?" Joana was the first to exclaim, which made many of the others to murmur in worry too.
Then, Ruby ran to the back deck. Roze noticed this and ran after his Driver.
"Ruby! What're you doing!?" Sun exclaimed, just before Ruby got outside.
Outside, Ruby glanced at the Coliseum which they had just embarked from. Making quick estimations in her head, Ruby jumped off the ship and allowed herself to free fall to the Coliseum's direction, until propelling herself on a platform with her semblance.
"Damn it!" Roze exclaimed as this left the reaper Blade behind. Blades don't have Aura or semblance, which meant that Roze wouldn't be able to reach his Driver normally. But the reaper Blade then had an idea and started tying the corners of his cape his to his ankles, creating a make shift glider for himself. Then his Core Crystal glowed a little as he called upon the power of wind before jumping. Just as he hoped, he was able to make an updraft strong enough to carry him to lower levels of the Coliseum. From there, he could use Resonance to catch up to Ruby.
As Roze gave chase, Ruby had reached back into the arena where multiple lockers left from when all the weapons were called were still scattered. Quickly finding one that was upright, Ruby pressed a code into the locker before hooking Crescent Rose over it and the locker took off.
"RUBY WAIT!" Just as Roze had reached his Driver's location, but the leader of team RWBY didn't seem to hear him. "Darn it!" Roze exclaimed at his luck. Seriously, why couldn't Ruby just wait for him, she should have known he wouldn't be far behind. Still, "Where would Ruby go that required a rocket locker?" Roze thought trying to figure out what his Driver was up to, before he did and his eyes widened, "You, stupid, little…idiot!" Roze was barely able to say something he would not regret, before finding another locker and punching in the code to get to where Ruby was going.
Meanwhile at the Beacon courtyard, Blake and Weiss had just arrived to see that things weren't much better here than they were in the fairgrounds. And they got worse when the Atlesian Knights turned on them, and any soldier in the vicinity. That included several Paladins. There was too much chaos going on around this area for them to focus on one spot.
"…Be safe, Blake," Weiss said, realizing what they had to do.
"You too," Blake replied before chasing after a particularly large Alpha.
"Don't do anything reckless!" Dahlia called after the cat faunus before following her Driver's lead.
With that Blake chased the beast all the way to Beacon' cafeteria. But then she heard someone letting out a gurgling sound, which the girl recognized as someone dying. Looking inside, she was terrified when she saw a particular member of the Fang throwing the body of an Atlas soldier away.
"…No…Adam," Blake mouthed in terror.
Adam looked at Blake with an evil grin, "Hello my darling."
Elsewhere, at Beacon, the students that were on their way to Beacon were now in the middle of a huge battle.
"DIE, HUMAN!" A White Fang grunt roared as he charged Joana with a sword in hand in mad rage.
Joana used her sword to knock the weapon out of the assailant's hand before stabbing the faunus in the heart without mercy. "Filthy wretch," Joana said with a frown as she kicked the offending body off of her weapon.
"Hey!" Neon shouted. The rollerblading faunus knew that the White Fang are murdering psychopaths, but she still couldn't help taking offense to that remark. Even as she was rollerblading away from an Ursa which was soon intercepted by Hazuki's axe into its head.
And Neon wasn't the only one."Yo, Jaune, does Joana have something against faunus," Sun asked as he fired his gunchuks on a group of creeps while Wu was bouncing from one Grimm's head to another using a move he called "Trickster Style: Pogo Stick Of Doom". As the name implies he was bouncing with the tip of his staff like one would on a pogo stick.
"I'm pretty sure she doesn't," Jaune replied back to Sun as he slashed at an Ursa's face. as in the background, Nora was blasting another Ursa in the face with grenades, while Electra played whack-a-Grimm with Creeps and Beowolves.
"What makes you say that?" Sun asked, before jumping in surprise as the knightess Blade they were talking about stabbed an Ursa Major through it's throat when it tried to pounce on Sun.
"Keep your wits about you, thief," Joana said, earning a scowl from Sun.
"You say that because I'm a faunus?" the monkey asked with a daring tone.
"No. I call you that because of your poor clothing," Joana replied simply as she moved along, earning a baffled look from Sun.
"What's wrong with my outfit?" Sun complained, before being whacked on the head by Wu.
"Focus moron! Irrelevant thoughts can get you killed right now," the monkey Blade scolded his Driver as he turned back around separated all seven bumps of his staff into a multisectioned whip to lash at an Alpha Beowolf.
As Sun focused on assisting his Blade, the rest of the battlefield was in similar states of chaos. Ren was firing upon a Boarbatusk with Otohime assisting with her dragon headed cannon. Flynt was using his trumpet to blast some Grimm away while Azai shot those his Driver's sonic blast didn't get.
Since Penny now lost her swords, she was relying on Kos-Mos' weapon, not that the android Blade minded. In fact, there was a ghost of a smile on her face as she watched her master blasting away Grimm and any more White Fang that strayed too close to them.
As this was happening, above the dormitories, Cinder, Emerald and Mercury were watching the chaos unfolding around Beacon.
"Look at this chaos," Cinder said with faux worry.
"It's almost sad," Emerald said, feeling just a little bad for what was going on.
"It's awful," Cinder said, clearly reveling in this to an extent before turning to Mercury, "Are you getting all of this?"
"Oh yeah. I'm getting all of this," Mercury said as he was using a Scroll to record the whole thing.
"Focus on the Atlesian Knights. Keep broadcasting until the end," Cinder commanded, after all the whole world would have to see the horrors Atlas has brought upon the poor Kingdom of Vale. " And do not miss the next part," Cinder said ominously as the ground shook a little before moving out to do something on her own.
As soon as Cinder was out of their sight, Mercury kept enjoying recording an Atlesian Paladin destroying the very soldiers it was supposed to be helping.
Emerald turned her gaze away from the battle and saw a very unwelcome sight. "Mercury! Look out!" the thief cried out as drew out her kamas. The gray-haired boy turned around just in time to avoid a swipe from a dark energy blade. Mercury responded with a kick to the chest, but the assailant brought both arms down to block it.
Now that the assailant was pushed back, they could see it was that damn one-eyed ninja again.
"You again! Don't you ever give up?" Emerald complained as she shifted her kamas into their gun forms.
"Not until I make up for my past two failures." Nox showed on his scroll before glaring at the black Scroll in Mercury's hand. "Give me that." was then showed on Nox's scroll.
"Come and get it, freak," Mercury said with cocky annoyance as he took a stance.
"Very well. I shall pry it from your cold fingers." Nox showed for a moment before putting the scroll into his sash and summoning his other scythe. Then his pupil shifted from a cross to an X as he engaged the two. But all three of them were stopped when the ground shook again.
In the headmaster's office, Ozpin saw the footage of his students and Atlesian army engaging Grimm and the rogue units. He also saw civilians that have yet to made it into the shelter waving for help as Grimm crawled the side of the building. Deciding that he had observed long enough, the headmaster got off of his chair and took his cane before moving towards the elevator to join the battle. However, he was forced to pause when the ground shook.
Inside the city, Glynda, Qrow and Kasandra were fending off the last of the Grimm in that area when they too felt the shaking.
"What was that?" Kasandra asked as she looked around.
"No," Glynda sounded out as she realized what was happening.
Qrow couldn't help it, he had to look towards the mask at the back of Kasandra's head. That thing hasn't rattled all day, which was getting worrisome. Because the Driver of Kasandra had realized that the longer that mask doesn't rattle the worse the accidents that happen are when it does. Honestly, if Ozpin hadn't told Qrow where Blades come from, the scythe master would've thought that the mask was some kind of new Grimm that was sent to make everyone's life a living hell. The color scheme of it matches anyway. "Oh, f*ck me," Qrow found it in himself to say, and right now even Glynda didn't feel like so much as glaring at him. As much as the deputy headmistress despised it, what Qrow just said was the most appropriate thing.
Outside Vale, at Mountain Glenn, a part of a mountain top was shaking. Then cracks started appearing on it, one of which revealed a burning Grimm eye looking from it. Then the top of the mountain exploded, unleashing a huge dragon like Grimm. The new beast roared as it started flying towards Beacon. Letting out black ooze from its mouth as it flew over the landscape. When the ooze hit the ground, new Grimm started forming out of it. Creeps, Beowolves even Ursi were being created by this new monster.
The beast was flying past the captured airship that Ruby had just landed on. The girl looking at this new monster ignoring the ship and going straight to Beacon, with a flock of flying Grimm in tow. Just then, Roze had managed to land on the ship on the locker he had borrowed.
Ruby was a little surprised that her Blade managed to catch up. She opened her mouth to speak up, but Roze beat her to it. "What could you have possibly been thinking!?" Ruby's Blade shouted angrily at his Driver.
"Whuh-" "You just run off like that and leave me behind!" Roze interrupted before shooting at a Griffon that was probably attracted to the negativity he was producing.
"Someone had to take this ship back!" Ruby argued back.
"Who says you have to do it alone!?" Roze shouted, "Or did you forget, my life is bound to yours."
"So what!? You just go to a new Driver and forget about me," Ruby shouted out, now getting fed up at being yelled at for no reason.
"DO YOU REALLY THINK I WANT THAT!?" Roze practically roared, scaring Ruby a little. "Just because I will 'just' forget you when someone else awakens me after you're gone…Do you really think that you…don't mean anything to me now? Do…I mean nothing to you?" At that last part Roze let out a single tear.
And then Ruby realized how much she had accidentally hurt Roze, her own Blade. A partner bound for life. "I…I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," Ruby apologized now feeling bad for saying what she did.
"Just…don't scare me like that again," Roze said, letting out a heavy sigh. But then he was startled when Ruby suddenly shot Crescent Rose at him. Or so it seemed until the Blade heard a cry from behind him. A griffon had tried to pounce on him. But that wasn't all he saw, Neo had come outside and was pointing a scroll at the two before snapping a picture and sending it to Roman.
Speaking of the criminal, he wasn't happy about the picture he had received with Ruby and Roze on it. "Oh, you gotta be kidding me," Torchwick growled as he took the Scroll and moved outside.
In the Beacon, the students are staring at more approaching enemies with their weapons ready, Grimm, Atlesian robots, even a couple Paladins. However, Pyrrha looked towards the Beacon tower to see Ozpin standing there. The Champion glanced at her Blade, before also looking at Jaune. Then the Champion ran to Ozpin.
"Pyrrha!" Talos called out before following his Driver.
"Where are they going?" Nora asked, wondering what those two were doing.
"I'll go find out, the rest of you keep fighting," Jaune said before following the two. And of course, Joana followed her lord dutifully.
Up in the airship, Roze and Ruby had engaged Neo. The diminutive girl fending off both of them with surprising ease. Roze's Keen Eye can't see through Neo's illusions after all, evidenced by when Neo shattered just in time to reveal Roman firing his cane at Ruby, only for Roze to block it with a barrier, the two had switched weapons earlier.
"Little Red, little Red. Always wanting to be the hero," Roman said condescendingly.
"What are you doing, Torchwick!?" Ruby shouted out, "Without these ships the Grimm will destroy everything!"
"That's the plan," the criminal said before shooting again. This time the two moved out of the way, which allowed Neo move in against Ruby. The red cloaked girl swung Roze's scythe, but Neo flipped over the swing and delivered a kick to Ruby's head.
"RUBY!" Roze shouted to his Driver in concern. Which cost him not noticing Roman closing in on him and smacking the Blade's head.
Meanwhile Ruby had recovered and opened fire on Torchwick, who was forced to block the ether shots. "But why!? What do you gain from that!?" Ruby asked as she had to avoid Neo again.
"Wrong question Red. It's not about what I gain. It's just that I can't afford to lose," Torchwick said with a glare, which shifted into annoyance when Roze recovered and attacked with Crescent Rose.
"Lose what!? A chance for pointless massacre!?" Roze shouted out in anger before taking distance and looking to Ruby's direction. The Driver was barely keeping up with Neo's quick swings, but Roze chose to fix that as he activated Thorny Bloom. With that, Ruby was able to match Neo's attacks before actually outpacing the diminutive girl.
"You just don't get it, Red senior! I'm a gambling man, but there are some bets you just don't take," Roman explained as if talking to stupid child. "Like it or not, you two. The people who hired me are going to change the world! You can't stop them, I can't stop them! And you know what they say about not being able to beat them."
At that moment Ruby had managed to duck under a swing before pressing a button on Neo's parasol. That button opened it, which allowed the wind to catch on it, and snatch the ice cream girl away.
"Neo!" Torchwick shouted towards his partner who was now sailing through the air to who knows where.
"I don't care what you say," Ruby said as she prepared Roze's scythe. "We will stop them, and Roze and I will stop you! Bet on that!" With that declaration, Ruby burst in with her semblance to attack Roman. The criminal countered this by letting out a shot from his cane before swatting it into an arc as Ruby lifted her Blade weapon not to block the attack, but strike at Torchwick.
"Thorn Barrier!" And it was a good thing she did, because Roman's attack hit the silvery thorns that protected Ruby and the damage was reflected at the criminal, which allowed Ruby to strike at the reeling criminal with multiple slashes, which she ended with a Crescent Spinner. With this Roman Torchwick was pushed back near the entrance into the ship.
"You sure got spirit," Torchwick commented as he got up with an expression of pure hate on his face. "But this is the real world! You wanna be a hero? Then go and die like every other huntsman in history! There are no miracles in this cold and hard world!" But as if a higher power wanted to spite Roman Torchwick, blue lasers crossed around the ship, destroying most of the Grimm surrounding it. "Oh, what now!?" Roman started sounding like he was on the verge of a breakdown.
Ruby and Roze turned to the direction the lasers came from and the two couldn't help but smile. The Titan was approaching, and it was firing homing shots from its head towards any Grimm in the area, be they on the ground, or the air.
"The Titan," Roze said feeling immense joy, which was currently shared by his Driver.
"What were you saying about there being no miracle- Whuh?" Ruby exclaimed as she turned back towards Roman to see he was gone. "Where did he go?" Ruby asked, just as the ship started turning.
"No! He wouldn't!" Roze exclaimed in worry, but to his horror, the ship had fully turned towards the approaching Titan, and it opened fire upon the Alrestian being.
Inside the ship, Roman was laughing at his accomplishment. "So much for your miracle!" Roman cackled as the dragon shaped flying landmass reeled a little from the shots. Roman then fired again, but the Titan flapped its wings to gain more altitude so that the shots wouldn't hit it this time.
"Ruby…we need to get out of here," Roze said as the Titan landed on the ship, talons first before it started tearing apart the aggressor. Ruby stared at the creature in slight awe and fear. Noting at the back of her mind that it was roughly the size of the dragon Grimm that passed them.
Back in Beacon, the ground forces were beginning to tire. They still had two more Paladins to deal with, and all of the Blades were getting tired, with the exception of Kos-Mos, though she doesn't show facial expressions so maybe her being tired doesn't show.
"How can these things be durable enough to withstand us?" Wu complained as he ducked under a punch from one paladin before smacking its arm with two nunchuks.
"These Paladins were designed to withstand attacks from Newt," Kos-Mos replied as Penny used Tech Blaster on the paladin, "However, it was implied during conversations that the scientists have yet to accomplish that."
"Who's Newt?" Reese asked as she shot at the other Paladin with her guns. Until she had to switch them to their hoverboard mode to escape the rogue machine.
"Newt is a Blade that possesses Superstrength," Kos-Mos explained as if that would say it all, but judging by some of the glances she was getting, it didn't.
"Where is Dragunov, when you need him," Ren sighed, while panting a little. This unfortunately, made him open for a paladin to try and sucker punch him.
"Ren!" Nora noticed what was about to happen and pushed her friend away, but this left her on the line of fire. Or it would have if Electra hadn't come in front of her Driver to block it.
"Leave…Nora…ALONE!" Electra screamed as the halo on her back crackled with electricity while she was struggling against the Paladin. "Zippizippizappii…BLAM!" Electra released a huge lightning at the Paladin, similar to the one on the day Nora bonded with the little Blade. This forced the paladin back, seemingly malfunctioning as Electra slumped down in exhaustion.
"Electra!" Nora shouted in concern as she picked up her Blade.
"She's suffering from ether deficiency," Dahlia spoke up as she threw her bitball at the other Paladin. True enough, Electra was breathing heavily, with the light of her Core Crystal weakening.
Coco glared at the machines that were overpowering them. From what she understood, none of the Blades were at full strength right now. So, with that in mind, the fashionista turned towards their resident bunny girl, "Velvet, it's time."
"Really!?" Velvet was clearly excited at the prospect of whatever Coco just approved.
"Just make sure to make them all count." Coco replied back with a smile.
With that, Velvet stepped forward, past all the ranged fighters. Right towards the two Paladins.
"What are you doing!?" Weiss exclaimed at Coco just looking on calmly, "She's going to get hurt!"
"Just watch," Coco said confidently.
Velvet then extended her arm and a hardlight copy of Crescent Rose appeared in her hands.
"Is that Ruby's scythe?" Otohime asked in surprise, as she put several strands of misplaced hair back into their proper place. Even the refined lady couldn't keep herself entirely decent. Well, decent in her opinion.
Anyway, Velvet jumped over the first Paladin's gunfire before striking at it. The odd thing being, her movement with the replica Crescent Rose was exactly like Ruby's. Then Velvet landed on the ground behind the Paladin and switched to a different weapon, the Paladin spun around to hit the rabbit, but was countered by a blast from what looked like a replica Myrtenaster. Then Velvet closed in and stabbed the machine several times with movement that reminded everyone of Weiss. But that didn't last long as the Paladin was then hit with a replica of Ember Celica. Velvet then landed on the ground a safe distance before firing the replicas several times in a way Yang would. Then as the Paladin approached the bunny while guarding itself from the shots, Velvet slid under it before switching to a Gambol Shroud replica. Using it, Velvet was able to hook the sword on the second paladin's arm and using the ribbon to wrap it around the mech's legs. Then Velvet yanked the ribbon, pulling the mech's legs together and causing it to topple.
The remaining Paladin then tried to hit the rabbit from behind, but the said rabbit noticed the attempt and cut off the hand with the cleaver. Then Velvet took some distance and threw the cleaver into the "face" of the Paladin before opening fire with a replica of Coco's minigun. The Paladin used its arm to block the gunfire as it approached to swipe the loveable rabbit with its fist. But Velvet switched to Sun's staff to backflip away on the toppled Paladin before smashing one of its arms off with Magnhild. Then, a familiar backpack appeared on Velvet's back and out of it, came Penny's swords.
The said android looked a little sad at losing her primary weapons, even if she was nearly killed with them. Then she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"You still have me, master," Kos-Mos said in a monotone attempt of a support. But it had the desired effect, as Penny smiled faintly.
Although Penny's sadness spiked a little when Velvet used the swords to cut off the Paladin's legs before it could get back up. Right before firing the laser that Talos was able to absorb and use against Penny. But that didn't matter, seeing as the Paladin was destroyed. Velvet allowed herself a breather, which cost her when she was smacked aside by the remaining mech.
"Velvet!" Coco shouted out in concern before opening fire on the machine. As did Neptune, Nadir and Reese. Azai and Otohime also joined on the shooting. But machine seemed to be ignoring them as it wanted to kill the greatest threat that was Velvet for the moment.
Weiss, unable to take being useless in this situation, used her glyphs to quickly go and protect Velvet.
"Weiss, stop!" Dahlia shouted in concern, she wanted to help too, but she had already used a lot of her ice powers on the Grimm that had attacked, she probably doesn't have enough power for any of her Special Arts and neither did the others most likely. But then she saw a glyph behind Weiss that she had only seen once.
Weiss for her part didn't seem to notice it as she got in front of Velvet and closed her eyes. Waiting for the impact that would come from her most likely pathetic attempt at blocking the rogue mech. Only to hear a loud impact that didn't come from something hitting her. Daring to open her eyes Weiss saw the Paladin's arm struggling against a large glowing sword. The said sword was held by a glowing armored arm that came out of the glyph that was still hovering behind Weiss. Then the arm broke the deadlock before bringing its sword into an overhead swing, cutting the last Paladin in half.
With the fight now over Weiss was now free to look at arm of Arma Gigas that she had tried to summon many times, but has always failed to do. But now, there it was and it had come to her aid. The arm along with the glyph it was coming out of disappeared as its services weren't required anymore. This allowed everyone to have a breather, which lasted for all three seconds when a third Paladin stomped to their line of sight.
"You gotta be kidding me," Sun exclaimed, a sentiment which was shared by everyone else.
Then the third Paladin started charging at them, only to suddenly shut down on its own. "What just happened?" Penny wondered aloud.
"I believe the rogue ship has been seized and someone used mass shutdown, Master," Kos-Mos explained.
"But who could have done that? And why shut them down instead of making them help us again," Weiss pointed out tiredly.
"That was merely a hypothesis," Kos-Mos explained before seemingly remembering something, "And a preferable one to the alternative."
"Which is," Neptune asked with a hint of fear.
"That the ship has been destroyed and without it, these units cannot function," Kos-Mos dropped the bomb upon them.
Although no one was sure if that was a good or bad thing at this point.
Just then, Yang had arrived at the scene with Dragunov in tow. "Guys! Have any of you seen Ruby? She's not answering her Scroll," The blonde asked feeling worried for her sister.
"She abandoned ship last we saw her," Wu replied with a slight scowl, "Maybe she found a place to-Whoa!" Wu interrupted himself as he had to duck under a fireball thrown by Dragunov.
"That red shrimp is tiny, but she's not a coward," Dragunov growled as he also had a hand on Yang's shoulder, preventing his Driver from trying to pummel the monkey's face in.
"Perhaps Ruby had something to do with this," Kos-Mos then piped up as she pointed to the deactivated Paladin.
"You mean, she got onto the ship!?" Nora asked, still holding Electra in her arms.
"If that is the case, then she must have succeeded, considering the results," Otohime said as she moved to support her Driver. Ren looked like he would collapse any second now.
Yang instantly calmed down at hearing that, "That's my baby sister for you!" Yang sounded so proud of Ruby right now before taking on a more serious expression. "But where's Blake?" Yang then asked, noting that their feline friend wasn't here.
"She went after an Alpha, and I think I saw some White Fang in that direction too," Weiss responded as she pointed in the general direction she saw Blake running.
"Let's go see if she needs help," Dragunov said, patting his Driver on the back.
"Yeah, you guys look for Ruby okay," Yang said, directing the last part to the others.
"We will, take care," Dahlia said as she lightly hugged Weiss. The ice Bunny felt so proud of her Driver for the step she had taken in something she supposedly couldn't do.
Meanwhile in the city, Qrow, Glynda, Kasandra, and Ironwood who had survived his ship crashing noted how all the Atlesian Knights suddenly shut down. But then they saw the two burning halves of the battle ship falling down. The city had already been evacuated thanks to the remaining army and several third- and fourth-year students who were thankfully prepared to tackle an operation this big. So there shouldn't be any danger of the ship killing any people as it crashed in pieces.
"Well, guess that problem is solved," Qrow quipped.
"Not in the way I would've liked," Ironwood said, but took what he could get.
"So, what now, general," Qrow then asked.
"…That dragon Grimm seems fixated on Beacon Tower, and it seemed like the Titan was going after it. If what Adenine theorized about the Titan's mentality towards Grimm is correct, we can assume that it plans to fight it," Ironwood said as he looked at the Titan that was now flying towards Beacon in pursuit of the dragon Grimm.
"That could be bad," Glynda muttered as a thought of the collateral damage those two flying juggernauts could do if they clashed invaded her mind.
"None the less, we must go and assist it to the best of our abilities, because I doubt the other Grimm will just sit around and let their biggest gun be destroyed," Ironwood declared.
"Sounds like a plan Jimmy," Qrow said as he gave a worried glance to Kasandra and then his eyes widened in horror. The mask at the back of Kasandra's head rattled. "Oh, shit!" Qrow explained as he looked around them for any sign of what might happen. And then he caught sight of a Goliath stamping towards them, "Of all the-!" Qrow's exclamation was interrupted by an unstable building crashing on the large Grimm.
"Oh! Lucky us," Kasandra exclaimed happily at the sight of the toppled monster.
"How is this, lucky!?" Glynda hissed through gritted teeth. A Goliath appeared and a building collapsed. The amount of work to rebuild that would be staggering.
"But now we have a chance to kill it before it gets up," Kasandra said, either missing or somehow ignoring Glynda's anger.
"She's not wrong, Glynda," Qrow said in relief, just glad at the misfortune not being unleashed on them. "Let's get it before it gets back up," Qrow then said before dashing at the monster that was struggling to get up.
The disciplinarian sighed before gathering surrounding debris into a large spear and sending it at the beast.
On the Titans back, Ruby and Roze were hanging onto patches of grass to stop themselves from falling off their ride.
"This was an awesome idea, right Roze!?" Ruby shouted out through the wind. The Titan didn't even seem to mind having stowaways.
Ruby's Blade didn't exactly agree with his Driver, but the alternative was to stay on the ship and share Torchwick's fate. "We should reach Beacon shortly," Roze shouted through as he glared at the dragon Grimm ahead of them. "If the Titan can defeat that monster, it should deter the rest of them," Roze added in. Or at least that's what the two hoped.
AN: The battle of Beacon is in full swing, but unfortunately the Blades are running out of ether to fight with. Roman tried to destroy the Titan, but only managed to make it mad. Blake is staring down Adam, but Nox is nowhere near her. And Pyrrha has followed Ozpin despite her previous conversations. Will she only follow him to say no? Or will she go back on her conversation with Talos.
But one thing is for certain, in the next chapter, we got MONSTER CLASH! On the left we have the Mighty Dragon Grimm! On the right we have An Alrestian Titan! Which of these flying juggernauts will win? The monster that spews more of it's ilk, or a bringer of life and foothold.
