Annnnd we're back. Hope you've all had a lovely holiday period. Its gonna be a few fortnighly chapters, then hopefully back into the swing of thing weekly updates, and from there build up to twice weekly again. might take longer to reach the end then I hoped update wise as I've been splitting chapters into two smaller ones to make easier to write and edit. Word count wise we are nearly at the halfway point. and tea will spill...Enjoy!
Taako is still being quite frankly a dick about the whole thing. And he still came into the Tea shop nearly every day, sometimes multiple times. According to Angus's sources (Barry, the surprisingly biggest gossip of the seven), Ren is getting frustrated with him for checking on Angus so often.
Angus was beginning to think Taako had found out his rota. Hopefully Lucretia hadn't told him about it? But Angus doubt's she would have. Besides, Taako is smart enough to – now he knows about Angus's job- notice patterns in his behaviour. Angus is fairly certain that Taako's also smart enough to have snuck into the back kitchen invisibly to have a poke around in Mrs Cosies' pantry. so he wouldn't put it past him to have mooched about the office or staff room too. And the rotas were always pinned up there.
if Taako came in as himself Angus could handle it. Or even the more stagey show-off-ish mask of 'Taako from TV' public persona he used. But no, Taako still kept rocking up to the teashop with increasingly ridiculous disguises, making complicated coffee orders, followed by blatant rudeness and table hogging. It's not a fun goof. It wasn't shared like their magic lessons. Angus just can't understand why he keeps coming back just to fake being a Karen. Or a Susan for that matter. He doesn't get it.
Or why students have started coming to the tea shop. Students from both schools, Taako's Academy and Lucas's Tech. Which isn't odd in itself. Coffee and tea shops are student magnets. But this many? Most of which Angus was pretty sure had never even seen around this side of town, let alone in the shop amongst the regulars. As he'd said to Ren, Taako's school was a bit far out to just pop in at lunch time. And Miller Tech was closer but not by much, even for his and Florence's friends.
If Taako's students are being egged on, Angus would expect pranks and shenanigans from them. Or Taako holding impromptu lessons in the middle of the shop in the middle of rush hour. And even if that did happen, why is Angus seeing so many fellow Miller techies? He's not sure about that one. or why the students just act like, well, normal students. As normal as students can be. Mrs Cosie imposes a new limit on how many expression shots and cups of Wakey Wakey time tea a person can order at once.
Lup comes in again. but only once while he is working, least to his knowledge. When he sees her Lup for some weird fucking reason is suddenly nervous. And her mood is off. Angus can't tell if this is a bit. Or she is genuinely unsure of how a person vibes when ordering a tea, a cake and sitting at a table in a shop alone, even with a book, her chewellery and her headphones. She looks like she might shimmy into lich form if one more mug clatters. Angus even tries using a message to ask if she's okay? But she just winks and finger guns.
Kravitz is still somewhat of a regular too, both with and without Taako. He does enter and leave the shop mostly through the door. But sometimes through portals, plumes of black feathers and all, scaring the few patrons. He says hello and speaks pleasantly to Angus but doesn't make a fuss at least. And as promised stopped tipping in shiny rocks and old coins.
Trouble is whenever he's in with Taako, and regardless of what face Taako's wearing, Kravitz stays as handsome Kravitz. Albeit with his work accent. so, it looks as though Kravitz has had several coffee shop dates with several people on the go, and despite his style earns him some disapproval from more old-fashioned employees. If anyone especially the tabloids put two and two together or got a hold of the story that Kravitz has been seen here and Taako's mysterious 'trophy husband' was cheating on him they'd have a field day.
Anyway, it is Tuesday and Taako is due any moment as this is when he has a free period. Angus is braced and ready for whatever stupid order or bad disguise Taako is wearing. Instead of Taako coming through the door however…
The little bell over the door tinkles. But is barely heard over the door being flung open and a very loud very rowdy unexpected battle cry of "ANG-OOO!"
