Rachel wasn't exactly pleased with Ben dragging her by the arm, but considering what was behind them, she wasn't going to argue. It was bad enough with a werewolf, a mummy, and a Frankenstein abomination, but now they had to deal a freaky ghost – one that apparently had a grudge against Ben.
Ben and Rachel turned the corner on the catwalk when their way was suddenly barred by Zs'Skayr, who phased through the floor. The two of them tried to double back when Viktor landed roughly in front of them, causing the catwalk to bend at a dangerous angle. The Frankenstein monster lunged at the children until Rachel pulled Ben over the railing. As they began to fall and Ben screamed in a panic, the former Supreme Leader whipped out her grapnel gun and hooked a pipe near the ceiling. The rope went taut and the two swung to the other side of Viktor's workshop.
Speaking of whom, Viktor's coiled surged with purple lighting as he aimed his fists at the their backs…until Zs'Skayr suddenly swept forward and redirected Viktor's shot towards the ceiling.
"No!" the alien ghost screeched. He cracked his head back and watched as Ben and Rachel landed on a pipe, then ran deeper into the workshop. Zs'Skayr threw down his henchman's arms and hissed, "I need Tennyson alive if I am to merge with him. Only then will I control the Omnitrix."
Meanwhile, Ben and Rachel took cover behind a large cable, taking a moment to catch their breath.
"Oh man, I can't believe they brought back Ghostfreak," said Ben nervously. "Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse."
"Yeah, I'm a little in the dark about this 'Ghostfreak' business," said Rachel. "Who the heck is that…thing?"
"I call him Ghostfreak…mostly because I can't remember his real name," Ben explained, holding up the Omnitrix. "He used to be in the Omnitrix, but he broke out. Now he's trying to merge with me so that he can use the Omnitrix for himself."
"I get the sense that he's a seriously bad guy," said Rachel.
"That's the understatement of the century," said Ben. "We can't let Ghostfreak get his hands on – MMPH!"
Rachel suddenly slapped her hand over Ben's mouth, startling him. She pressed a finger to her lips, gesturing him to stay silent, then pointed around the cable. Zs'Skayr phased through the wall of pipes, twisting his head around looking for them.
"What's the matter, Ben?" Zs'Skayr hissed mockingly. "Aren't you glad to see me? Haven't you learned by now…." He phased through the cable hiding Ben and Rachel, leering at them, "that nothing can stop me?"
Ben and Rachel jumped away with a terrible fright; the former pulled the latter behind him and activated the Omnitrix.
"Nothing except…."
He slammed down on the Omnitrix's dial and exploded in a burst of green light. When the glare faded, he looked down at himself and was pleasantly surprised to see –
"Rifter!" cheered the cowboy-styled alien. "Not bad! I was expecting way worse."
"Uh, Ben," said Rachel, tugging at Rifter's poncho.
Rifter looked curiously at his blonde friend until she pointed to the catwalk above their heads. Viktor jumped over the railing and fell towards them with an electrified fist. Rachel let out a surprised yelp as Rifter picked her up by the waist and pointed one of his metal fingers at the floor. He shot a ball of green energy, which opened a portal underneath them, and fell through. The portal closed behind Viktor hit the ground, causing the metal to bend around his fist. Viktor looked surprised; Zs'Skayr looked displeased.
"Find them!" Zs'Skayr spat. "I can't merge with Ben in his alien form! But it's merely a matter of time before he turns human again…."
Abigail Lincoln, known to the rest of the Kids Next Door as Numbuh 5, looked out into the endless void of space from the Moonbase command center.
It was her first day as the new Supreme Leader of the KND. It was a heavy burden (or maybe it was the uncomfortable helmet she wore now), but it was one she was ready to bear. Rachel trusted her to lead and, with Number 1 gone, she figured it was time to finally step up instead of sidestepping her responsibilities. That's why her first order as the new Supreme Leader was to remove a most unsavory element from the Kids Next Door –
"Don't touch me!" Numbuh 363 screamed, making everyone in the command center cover their ears. He flailed furiously as two armed guards dragged him away. "You can't do this to me! Do you know who my big sister is?"
"Your big sister is a wanted fugitive," said Numbuh 86 beside Numbuh 5, glaring at the screeching child. "And by order of the new Supreme Leader, you are to be decommissioned immediately!"
"You can't do that!" wailed Numbuh 363. "Numbuh 83, Numbuh 84, protect your leader!" His two teammates looked away, whistling innocently and pretending not to know him. "Traitors!"
"Take him to the decommissioning chamber!" screamed Numbuh 86.
Numbuh 363 continued wailing and thrashing until he was dragged out of the room and the doors slammed shut.
"Finally!" said Numbuh 5, relieved. "Number 5 had just about up to hear with that lil' snot."
"He was a disgrace to the Kids Next Door, ma'am," said Numbuh 86 with a disciplined tone while addressing her superior. "We are better off without him."
"No doubt," said Numbuh 5, taking a seat in her comfy Supreme Leader armchair. It felt really nice. "Speaking of, what's the situation with former Numbuh 362?"
"I'm afraid we've lost her somewhere in the Kennedy Space Center, ma'am," Numbuh 86 reported. "Any attempts to breach the facility have been thwarted. The adults' security is unusually strong. I don't think anyone other than Numbuh 362 could breach it."
"Now what's Numbuh 362 doin' in a place like that?" asked Numbuh 5, tapping her finger in the armrest. "I didn't expect that from her."
"Ma'am, permission to speak freely," Numbuh 86 requested.
"Granted."
"Ma'am, I've known Rachel since we were wee tots in kindergarten," said Numbuh 86, dropping the formality. "She's never done anything without a reason. She believes that there's something strange going on in that place and…well, I want to believe her…."
"Numbuh 5 gets it," said Numbuh 5, nodding. "We wanna believe in the best of our friends. But Numbuh 5 doesn't understand what she's thinking going to that place – "
"Supreme Leader, Supreme Leader, help!" The girls jumped as a rotund nerd with a collider on his head ran up the steps…then stopped halfway to catch his breath…then ran the rest of the way. "Miss Supreme Leader, it's an emergency!"
"What is it now, Numbuh 65.3?" asked Numbuh 5 exasperatedly. "If this about that ice cream sandwich in the fridge again, Numbuh 5 is gonna – "
"No, it's must more urgent than that!" sputtered Numbuh 65.3. "There's an unidentified spacecraft on a course for the Kids Next Door Moonbase. It's a NASA shuttle."
"So, turn it around like we always do," Numbuh 5 scoffed.
"We can't!" he cried desperately. "None of the systems are working! We're completely blocked out!"
That caught Numbuh 5's attention. The Supreme Leader stood up and stared out the window, narrowing her eyes on the spacecraft headed their way –
"Shouldn't we be looking for the Corrodium?" asked Gwen as she, Max, and Trixie floated through the long corridor inside the shuttle. Gravity had long since lost its hold on them after they breached the earth's atmosphere. It was a strange and unnerving experience, hovering unsupported inside a narrow space like they were swimming. Gwen struggled with the concept more than Max or Trixie, both of whom had actual experience being outside Earth's orbit.
"Easier to bring the entire kit and caboodle back to Earth," said Max, pulling himself up a ladder, "than wasting time look for a few rocks in a whole rocket ship."
"Guess we know where I got my brains from," said Gwen jokingly. "Hey, Trixie, is there really a treehouse on a moon. You'd think NASA would know about something like that."
"Viktor seems to think so," said Trixie, kicking off the wall to glide ahead. "He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would make up something like that."
"But a treehouse? Really?" said Gwen disbelievingly.
"The truth is often stranger than fiction," said Max sagely. "Of course, you should already know that."
They finally arrived in the cockpit of the shuttle. Trixie floated over Max and flipped forward, taking a seat in the pilots chair.
"Are you sure you know how to pilot this thing, Trixie?" asked Gwen, concerned.
"I am the second most intelligent being on Earth next to Dexter in regards to science and technology," said Trixie boastfully as Gwen seated herself in the other chair while Max hovered over them. "Piloting this redundant craft will be as simple as riding a bicycle."
"But you don't know how to ride a bike," Gwen pointed out.
Trixie chose not to respond to that.
The Tennysons were unaware of a fourth passenger silently slithering into the compartment –
Zs'Skayr and Viktor were searching high and low through the workshop, gliding through walls and tearing equipment out of the floor. But after a long and fruitless search, Ben and Rachel continued to allude them.
"Why are we chasing these little pests," Viktor questioned his master impatiently, "when the master plan is so close to becoming reality?"
Zs'Skayr turned on his servant menacingly slow, his infected eyes narrowed dangerously. Viktor already knew he said something he shouldn't have and took a careful step back. Then, Zs'Skayr lunged at the Frankenstein alien, diving into his body and flinging Viktor across the room. He slammed into the wall and started to fall to the floor, but suddenly stopped, as if gravity had suddenly stopped working. Viktor was lifted into the air and slammed face down on the floor, and was then discarded into a wall of pipes.
Zs'Skayr chose to exit his servant's body at that moment, glaring at the whimpering scientist on the ground.
"You fool!" hissed Zs'Skayr. "Those little pests could ruin everything we planned! Do as I say, or you shall be the focus of my wrath!"
Zs'Skayr slithered off to another part of the workshop, aware that his prey were on the level above them. Rifter was huddled behind a thick tangle of cables and cords, trying to make himself as small as possible, which was difficult given how tall the alien was. Rachel was kneeling at the base of Viktor's computer console, having pried off the panel and was fiddling with the wires.
"Master plan?" Rifter hummed. "I don't like the sound of that. How's it comin' over there, pardner?"
"Hotwiring a communication line isn't as easy as they make it look in movies," said Rachel, sticking her tongue out in concentration as she tied the blue and green wires together. "Connect these two together…reroute the frequency and…BINGO! Satellite uplink established!"
"So you can connect grandpa and the girls?" asked Rifter.
"I can do more than that," said Rachel.
She stood up and tapped away at the keyboard. A couple moments later, two images appeared on the screen. On the left was Max, Gwen, and Trixie sitting in the cockpit of the spaceship. On the right was Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86 in the middle of the KND moonbase command center.
"This is former Kids Next Door operative Numbuh 362!" yelled Rachel. "Come in, Kids Next Door moonbase! This is an urgent transmission!"
"Benjamin? Rachel?" said Trixie, surprised. "How did you manage to find the very specific communication channel for for this shuttle. The likelihood of that is ten-million-to-one."
"Who is that?!" screeched Numbuh 86, making everyone cover their ears. "This is a private Kids Next Door emergency channel! Do you understand the severity of – " she paused, looking over at the other screen. "Is that an adult? An adult is on our super-secret communications?"
"Uh, hi?" Max waved awkwardly.
"You are in BIG trouble, Numbuh 362!" howled Numbuh 86. "Hacking into Kids Next Door private channels is one thing, but conspiring with an adult – "
"Stand down, Numbuh 86!" Numbuh 5 snapped. The Irish lass clammed up and saluted, taking a step back for her Supreme Leader. Numbuh 5 bored into Rachel with her piercing stare. "Rach, you understand that your in a whole mess a trouble, don't you?"
"I figured," said Rachel, sighing.
"Hey, give her a break," said Rifter, stepping forward to defend his friend. "She's been through a lot today."
"What in the name of Blurpleberry is that?" yelled Numbuh 5, pointing at the warping alien.
"That's part of the reason why I'm contacting you," said Rachel, taking a serious tone. "A group of aliens are about to initiate a plan that threatens all human life on Earth."
"Aliens? Hah!" Numbuh 86 guffawed. "You really expect us to believe – "
"I said, shut it, Fanny!" yelled Numbuh 5. Numbuh 86 stiffened and kept her trap shut. "What's happenin', Rach? And what's it gotta do with these non-KND operatives you got hangin' with you?"
"According to these schematics," said Rachel, looking at the other monitors, "the aliens are planning to hijack the Kids Next Door global satellite array to project a Corrodium beam to a transceiver in New Mexico."
"What the heck is Corrodium?" asked Numbuh 5.
"A highly dangerous mineral that irreversibly mutates anyone who comes in contact with it?" Max explained. Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86 were startled by the information.
"With that transceiver," said Trixie, "they could bounce the radiation off the satellites and blanket the entire Earth. And if that happens, all human and animal life on the planet were be mutated beyond repair.
"Wait, isn't New Mexico where we fought that werewolf?" asked Gwen.
"We never did find out why he was stealing that satellite equipment," Rifter commented.
"Where's that transceiver?" asked Numbuh 5 seriously.
"I'm sending you the coordinates now," said Rachel, tapping away at the computer again.
"Numbuh 86, have all available earthbound operatives head to these coordinates!" Numbuh 5 told her second-in-command, who saluted promptly. "Take out that transceiver, no matter what!"
"Aye, ma'am!" shouted Number 86 before running off-screen.
"So Viktor's plan is to transform the world into a mutant planet?" asked Max curiously.
"I think the mutation is just a side effect," explained Rachel. "According to these notes, their real plan is to use the Corrodium to block out the sun."
"If that happened, Ghostfreak would be at full power all the time," said Rifter.
"GHOSTFREAK?!" Max, Gwen, and Trixie shouted in shock.
"Yeah, doctor monster somehow brought Ghostfreak back to life," answered Rifter. "He's been the one leading these horror movie rejects this whole time."
"Wait, wait, who's Ghostfreak?" asked Numbuh 5.
"That's a long and complicated story," said Trixie. "All you need to know is that he's a bad guy. And I mean seriously bad."
"Abby, you need to – " Rachel stated to say when a sharp beep cut through the line.
"Hold on a second, kids," said Max, reaching inside his pocket and pulling out handheld device. "That's strange…. According to this, the Corrodium inside this ship is moving."
"How could it be moving?" questioned Gwen. "Unless…."
Dozens of bandages shot out from the background, ensnaring the Tennysons. Max was pulled deeper into the space shuttle, followed by Trixie. Gwen grabbed the control panel to tie herself down, but she was ripped away sharply and her foot inadvertently kicked the screen, disabling the connection.
"What the heck was that?" screamed Numbuh 5.
"The mummy!" cried Rachel.
"Grandpa! Gwen! Trixie!" shouted Ben.
The constant screaming must have alerted Viktor and Zs'Skayr of their location. The two horror movie aliens smashed through the floor and searched the area. By that time, Rachel had already disconnected the call and Rifter had pulled the two of them away in another portal. Ben and Trixie ended up on the ground level, hiding behind a sheet of metal half buried in the ground.
Rachel and the alien cowboy cautiously peeked over the edge of the hiding spot, observing Zs'Skayr flying through every storage container and small space whole Viktor stomped around irritably.
"Oh man, I wish I had an alien that shot sunbeams or something," Rifter complained. "This guy can't do anything against Ghostfreak except run away."
"That creepy alien is weak against sunlight, right?" asked Rachel inquisitively. "That's the whole reason he's trying to mutate the planet, yeah?"
"Yeah, that's right," Rifter nodded. "Why? What's it to ya?"
"Maybe your alien can't do anything to fight back," said Rachel as she crawled to the edge of the workshop, picking up parts from the piles of scrap, "but maybe there's something I can do."
"Ya think you can make something outta this junk?" asked Rifter.
"I may not be a 2x4 scientist," said Rachel as she pulled out a large bulb that was miraculously undamaged, "but I've been known to cobble things together when in a bind. This copper wiring should be good…and this this will be good for the frame…."
Rifter just stepped back and watched as Rachel rustled through the scrap pile, finding parts to add to her doohickey while tossing others. He turned away for a moment to check on Viktor and Zs'Sakyr. They were still searching the upper levels with no clue where he and Rachel were. If they could hold out for a few minutes –
But time, and the Omnitrix, were against them when Rifter heard a dreadfully familiar beeping.
"No, not now!" cried Rifter.
Rachel flinched as a bright red light exploded behind her. She pivoted around and confronted Ben, who looked down at the Omnitrix with a look of betrayal. But that was the least of their worries as a shadow loomed overhead.
Viktor found them.
The Mummy had Max and Gwen ensnared on the ladder with one hand while it was confronting Trixie with the other. The green-haired girl had transformed into a combination of Jetray and Fasttrack, hoping that the speed and flight would work in her favor. Unfortunately, Trixie was unaccustomed to flying in zero gravity and it was affecting her flight patterns, causing her to run into walls several times. And her Aerophibian neuroblasts were of little help when the Mummy could simply untangle itself and avoid the beams.
Trixie attempted to glide under the mummy's arms and make a direct path for Max and Gwen. But the mummy seemed to have anticipated her route, creating a net with its bandages to block her path and ensnare her in its wrappings.
"Grr…let me go, you walking first aid kit!" Trixie growled in frustration.
"Can't…keep this up…much longer…," Max grunted, feeling his finger begin to slip on the bar.
Gwen pulled her hands away from the Mummy's wrappings while it was distracted with Trixie, raising them above her head.
"Hang on, grandpa!" she warned.
"Gwen, wait," Max warned. "Your spells don't work inside your hazmat suit, remember?"
"Yes, they do," said Gwen with a nervous inflexion. "Just…not like they're supposed to. Emocha Objectia!"
It was as Max had anticipated – the spell was (for some unexplainable reason) contained inside Gwen suit and puffed her up like a giant ball. But it seems this was Gwen's plan all along. The young sorceress shot down the ladder and smacked the mummy in the face, slamming it to the ground and forcing it to release her family. Gwen bounced off the walls like a human pinball and started beating the mummy senseless from all angles. It was honestly impressive in Trixie's opinion.
Unfortunately, it became obvious that she had no control over what she was doing. This was proven when Gwen bounced off the wall and slammed into Max and Trixie, carrying them through a hole in the wall to a small room. The door locked behind them (even though no one touched it) as Gwen finally deflated.
"Phew," Gwen sighed in relief. "At least I bought us time to regroup in this closet."
"Uh, Gwendolyn, this isn't a closet," said Trixie, her voice laced with fear. She tilted her head back and everyone looked up, spotting the bolted door above them. "You just landed us in the airlock!"
"…oops," Gwen muttered meekly.
Max desperately tries to pry the door open, but it wouldn't budge. The mummy appeared through the window, glaring at the trio menacingly. It stretched its wrappings to the nearby lever and pulled. A red light and claxon sirens wailed as the bolts sealing the door above them released and the hatch flew open. The vacuum created sucked Gwen, Max, and Trixie into the empty void of space. As the hatch door sealed shut, the mummy, likely feeling satisfied with its work, walked back to the cockpit as they made their final approach to the Kids Next Door moonbase.
The mummy didn't take into account that Trixie would sweep around, snatching up Gwen and Max before they floated too far.
"Finally getting the hang of this no gravity thing," said Trixie proudly.
"How are you alive without a suit?" asked Gwen. "And how can we even hear you? There's no sound in space."
"Aerophibians can survive in the vacuum of space," Trixie explained. "As for the second part…I honestly have no clue."
"It's great that you're okay, Trixie," said Max. "But these Plumber suits won't last long in zero atmosphere. We need to get inside that treehouse, and fast."
"One express trip to the Kids Next Door moonbase, coming up!" said Trixie.
Max and Gwen let out startled cries as Trixie leaned forward and shot through the black void like a bullet leaving the chamber.
Ben and Rachel barely managed to take two steps before Viktor slammed into the ground, creating a shockwave that knocked them off their feet. Viktor leered at Ben in particular with unbridled annoyance.
"Uh, don't suppose you'd consider being a good guy, would you?" Ben chuckled nervously.
Viktor sneered, grabbed Ben by the wrist, and lifted him off the ground. But he made an unconscious mistake of grabbing Ben's left arm and touched the Omnitrix. Though it went unnoticed by everyone, the Omnitrix's faceplate turned yellow as it collected a new sample of DNA from Viktor himself. But Ben had other things to worry about as Zs'Skayr floated down from above, hovering in front of his captured nemesis with a loathsome leer.
"Soon, the Earth will be mine," hissed Zs'Skayr. "But first, the Omnitrix!"
"You want to be in the spotlight?" Ben and the aliens turn their attention toward Rachel as she climbed to her feet. She held a tiny – almost microscopic – gun made of random machine parts with a lightbulb at the end. "How about this, freak?"
Zs'Skayr and Viktor blinked…then laughed.
"Foolish child," Zs'Skayr chortled. "You think I am threatened by a pathetic toy – "
The freaky ghost was soon eating crow when Rachel pulled the trigger and blasted everyone with a powerful burst of light that exploded all over the workshop. Viktor screamed and covered his hands with his eyes, his retina burning. Ben was smart enough to look away when the shot went off and made a break for it with his eyes hidden behind his hand. Zs'Skayr, on the other hand, screeched as he felt his skin starting to burn and made a hasty exit through the wall.
"Miniature flashgun amplified a bamillion fold," said Rachel proudly. "I really need to thank Numbuh 2x4 for all those boring weapon lectures."
"Master?" Viktor screamed with his eyes firmly shut. "You will pay for your insolence, children!"
As purple lightning arced off the coils of his back, Viktor raised his electrified fists and slammed them to the ground, sending waves of lightning flying in all directions. Rachel grabbed Ben's arm and pulled him behind a slab of metal, ducking their heads as the bolt flew over. But looked up and noticed an engine block hanging from the ceiling by a set of chains. Judging by the angle, it looked like it would….
Ben smirked, then elbowed Rachel and pointed out the engine block. The blonde girl looked up and, after a few seconds, nodded in understanding. The former operative whipped out her grapnel gun and hooked it through one of the rusted chain links. She and Ben tugged at the grapnel line together until the link bended and finally snapped. The engine block swung across the room until slammed the blinded Viktor in the chest, catapulting him back into his central machine. Purple electricity surged through Viktor, who was tangled in the hundreds of wires, unable to move. The Frankenstein alien wailed for several long moments until the electricity dissipated and Viktor fell silent, black smoke wafting off his crispy body.
"…Do you think he's…?" Ben asked hesitantly.
"The guy literally shoots lightning; I doubt it," answered Rachel. "For now, we need to figure out how we're gonna get into space and help everyone on the moonbase."
Ben touched his chin in thought, his eyes roaming the workshop. His gaze eventually landed on a small, personal shuttle. There was some rust and exposed wires, but it seemed mostly functional. With an idea forming in his head, Ben looked down at the Omnitrix just as the faceplate changed from red to green.
"Yes!" Ben cheered.
"You got something?" asked Rachel.
"Hopefully," said Ben, activating the Omnitrix. "Please, give me the one I want for a change."
He slammed down on the faceplate, briefly blinding Rachel. When the blonde teen looked back, Ben had been replaced by what looked like, in her opinion, a cartoon battery.
"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Buzzshock screech jubilantly. He zipped over to the shuttle and opened the door. "Get in and buckle your seatbelt!"
Rachel immediately knew what his plan was and had some doubts, especially when the shuttle had seen better days. But with the moonbase under attack, she didn't see much of a choice. The blonde teenager hopped inside and Buzzshock slammed the door behind her, sealing her inside. The Nosedeenian them deformed into living electricity, diving inside the shuttle's circuitry. With a little luck (and some Buzzshock magic), the shuttle's systems blinked to life –
Unfortunately, Viktor didn't stay down for long. The Frankenstein abomination slammed down to the floor, his body still smoking and purple electricity arcing off his coils. He let out a furious bellow and charged at the shuttle as Buzzshock ignited the engines. How there was any fuel left inside was a mystery for another time.
Rachel braced herself against her seat, her fingers digging into the armrests as the g-forces weighed down her body upon take off. The rocket speared through the floors of Viktor's workshop, then punctured the roof onto open skies. It seemed like smooth sailing from there…until Buzzshock exited the shuttle and noticed Viktor clinging to the side with his fingers digging into the plating.
"Ugh, why couldn't you just stay grounded like your master?" Buzzshock groaned.
Viktor snarled as he pulled himself onto the shuttle, using electricity to magnetism on the side. The Frankenstein alien raised his fists, coated in purple electricity, and slammed down on the shuttle. Rachel gasped as several instruments shattered and warning alarms went off, but, thankfully, they were still flying. Buzzshock retaliated by shooting Viktor in the face, which startled him, but didn't harm him…at least not until Buzzshock head-butted him –
Numbuh 5 gripped the armrest of her command chair as dozens of her operative ran around like headless chickens while sirens wailed in the air. She looked through the window and finally had a clear view of the shuttle that was heading their way.
"Why aren't the defense systems shooting that thing down?" yelled Numbuh 5, slamming her fist impatiently.
"We're trying, ma'am!" cried Numbuh 86, who looked spooked. "But the entire defense grid appears to have been remotely deactivated by an outside source! We can't get them up and running!"
"These aliens were prepared for everything," Numbuh 5 muttered.
"Enemy ship is heading this way!" one of the operatives screamed, pointing at the approaching shuttle. "It's gonna crash into the command center!"
"Brace for impact!"
The operatives screamed like little girls (and some of them were little girls) as they ran around and dived behind barriers that suddenly popped out of the floor. Numbuh 5 stood up from her chair and stood her ground. The shuttle was about to come through the window –
SMASH!
Numbuh 5 raised her arm to protect her face from the glass shards that rained down on her, getting some nasty cuts in the process, but she shrugged them off. She lowered her arm and looked up. The front half of the spacecraft was sticking through the window into her command center. (Why no one was sucked into space or suddenly lost oxygen was another unsolved mystery.)
The atmosphere in the moonbase had gone eerily silent. Numbuh 86 stepped out from behind the barrier with her soda bottle laser, and the rest of the operatives followed slowly behind her. The KND surrounded the shuttle anxiously while Numbuh 5 watched from above, leering at the ship with suspicion. There was a sharp hiss that put everyone on edge, like the sound of air being let out. The bolted door at the top of the shuttle flew open and everyone took aim with their 2x4 weapons.
There was a short period of tense silence…then several bandages slithered out of the ship like snakes, snatching up numerous operatives and sending them flying. While the operatives ran back to the barriers in a panic, the mummy fully emerged from the ship, glaring menacingly at the children that stood in its way.
"Holy Rainbow Monkeys!" screamed Numbuh 86. "It's a real alien!"
"This is no time for freakin' out, you fools!" Numbuh 5 shouted with authority. "Kids Next Door, BATTLE STATIONS!"
Numbuh 5 leapt off the platform and lunged at the mummy with a flying kick –
From outside the treehouse, Trixie and the Tennysons could see hundreds of colorful lights flashing through the large window.
"Looks like the fighting's already started," said Gwen.
"We need to get in there and help," said Max urgently. "Look around. See if you can see a hanger or an access panel."
"No time!" said Trixie, her brow furrowed with determination. "Better brace yourselves! This is gonna be a bumping ride!"
"What's that supposed to – AAAHHH!" Gwen screamed as Trixie suddenly pulled them into a dive.
The Kids Next Door proved to be no match for the mummy's power. After it almost effortlessly defeated them, it threw the operatives out the door and sealed the command center from inside. The only two operatives left were Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86, both of whom were wrapped up and held off the ground.
"Unhand me, you stupid boy!" Numbuh 86 screamed until she had a curious thought. "Wait, is it a boy? I can't tell."
"Not the time, Fanny!" Numbuh 5 snapped, then glared at the mummy. "So what do you want with us, you monster movie reject? You kept us around for a reason, didn't you?"
The mummy, of course, said nothing to respond. Instead, it carried them to the large control panel in the front of the command center, tapping a series of buttons with its bandages. The panel split down the middle and moved sideways as a small glass chamber was lifted up along with two handprint scanners.
"So that's what it is," said Numbuh 5. "You need Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86 to access the Kinds Next Door satellite array. Well, you can bet your mummy butt that we're not – "
But the mummy obviously wasn't going to give them a choice. It pulled Numbuh 5 and Number 86 in front of the scanners, wrapping its bandages around their arms to force them into move against their will. The girls tried fighting it at first, but they were no match for the mummy's superior strength. It forced them to slap their palms on the scanners, which flashed green after a quick examination.
"Identities confirmed," a feminine computer voice rang out. "Numbuh 5, Supreme Leader. Numbuh 86, Global Tactical Officer."
The chamber opened and the mummy threw the girls away somewhere across the room. The bandaged alien opened its chest to release the pieces of the Corrodium it had been carrying, removing two stones and placing them inside the chamber. Once the chamber closed, the Corrodium hummed and discharged purple electricity, which surged down the wires into the control panel. The large monitor above the commander center switched on, showing a detailed view of the earth, which repeatedly zoomed in on a specific area in New Mexico.
"Target locked!" said the computer. "Beginning transmission in 5…4…3…2…."
CRASH!
The mummy snapped it head up just as Trixie smashed through the window, dropping Max and Gwen on the floor. The human Omnitrix dived and tackled the mummy. The mummy's arms flailed outward, reaching for something to steady it, and inadvertently grabbed the Corrodium chamber. The chamber broke off the console before Trixie and the mummy hit the ground –
"Transmission aborted!"
The mummy flipped Trixie over, who landed at a short distance in a crouch. The mummy looked in its hands and realized that it was holding the Corrodium chamber. It looked back at the console, which was sparking with black smoke wafting off it.
"Wow, we foiled your plans way faster than expected," said Trixie. "Honestly, I thought you would at least succeed part way before we stopped you."
The mummy screeched furiously, throwing away the broken chamber, and threw a solid right hook to Trixie's face. Trixie flew across the room and slammed against the wall, bending the metal, before slumping to the ground. The mummy approached her when a laser hit it in the back, singeing its bandages. The mummy turned and glared at Gwen, who was holding one of the KND's laser rifles.
"How does that even work?" Gwen questioned. "It's just a flashlight and a bottle."
The mummy leered and lunged –
Meanwhile, Max ran over to Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86, who were still lying on the ground after the mummy tossed them aside, and helped them to their feet.
"Are you two all right?" asked Max.
"Unhand me, adult!" Numbuh 86 shouted, ripping her arm away and pointing her 2x4 gun at him. "By order of the Kids Next Door, you are under – "
"Stop that, you fool!" yelled Numbuh 5, slapping her second-in-command in the back of the head so hard, it made her helmet spin. "We don't have time for your nonsense! Right now, I want that thing Numbuh 5's moonbase!"
She pointed to the mummy, who had ensnared Gwen and threw the redhead at Trixie. Though clearly reluctant, Numbuh 86, turned her pistol on the mummy and fired a shot at its back. The mummy rounded on them as Max and the girls charged at it –
The werewolf sniffled and tilted its head curiously at the machine in front of it. It had worked many weeks to build the transceiver according to Viktor's specifications. It hard returned to its cave in New Mexico under the assumption that they were about to move forward with their plan…. So why hadn't they started yet, it wondered. By now, the mummy should have reached the Kids Next Door moonbase and taken over their satellites. What could be taking them –
The werewolf jumped with a startled yip as the wall to its cave was suddenly blown open by a powerful explosion. The werewolf raised its arms to block the debris, then snarled as it smelled over a hundred new scents enter its domain.
As the smoke clear and sunlight poured in from the outside, the werewolf found itself confronted with over a hundred Earth children, all equipped in some kind of makeshift armored and carrying weapons made of wood and soda bottles. Leading the small army was a blonde boy in a yellow hoodie, a fat kid in aviator goggles, and an Asian girl in a long green sweater.
"Hi, doggie!" Numbuh 3 waved.
"Man, that is one ugly mutt," Numbuh 2 commented.
"Hey, Rover!" shouted Numbuh 4 as he hefted a pipe launcher with bowling ball ammo. "Play dead!"
Numbuh 4 pulled the trigger and launched a bowling ball through the air. The werewolf easily ducked, but the bowling ball smashed into the transceiver behind it. The machine sparked dangerous until it suddenly exploded, knocking the werewolf off its feet. The alien canine shook its head free of the daze and looked back at the machine. The transceiver had been irreparably destroyed. Weeks of hard work gone in a single shot.
The werewolf turned menacingly on the children and snarled.
"Uh…I think we made it mad…," said Numbuh 2 nervously.
The werewolf rose to its full imposing height and let out a supersonic howl -
Rachel wished she could see outside the shuttle. Based on the loud noises and the flashing lights through the window, Buzzshock was locked in an epic battle with Viktor. If only she had packed her Kids Next Door regulation spacesuit –
She let out a startled yelp as Buzzshock's face was suddenly smooshed against the window.
"Ben, what's going on?" cried Rachel. "What's happening?"
"N – No worries," Buzzshock reassured her pathetically. "Got everything under con – "
The window cracks as Buzzshock's face is slammed down by Viktor's foot.
"Do you see how futile your pathetic attempts are now?" Viktor boasted. "You were never a threat to my master. You are but an insect to be crushed under my boot heel."
Viktor applied pressure to Buzzshock's head, causing the window to crack further until it resembled a spider web. Rachel looked around in a panic, trying to find something she could use to save her friend. There was a lot of trash on the shuttle. Some empty soda cans, a tone of loose wires and hoses, and a perfectly preserved 1970s video monitor. She peered through the cracked window to see that they were quickly approaching the KND moonbase.
And idea began to form.
Rachel ripped out the rustled floor with her bare hands and pulled out the quarter-full oxygen tank, then ripped the television monitor out of the wall. She removed the TVs guts and put it on her head, using the shuttles cables to secure it around her shoulder. She ripped off some hoses, attached them to the oxygen tank, then plugged it into the back of her makeshift helmet.
It was crude workmanship, but it should do the job, Rachel thought.
Rachel revealed for the door lever and pulled, blowing the door outward. The sudden move caused Viktor to lose his footing, which gave Buzzshock a chance to zap him in the chest and knock Viktor flat on his back. Rachel climbed out of the shuttle, her makeshift helmet miraculously keeping her alive in the empty void of space. Noticing that they were getting closer to the moonbase, Buzzshock reached his arm around Rachel's waist.
"This is our stop," said Buzzshock.
They kicked off together as the shuttle flew past the moonbase, rocketing deeper into the inky black void of space. Before they got too far, however, Ben made a pistol with his fingers and shot a bolt of lightning at the shuttle's boosters, causing them to explode. Buzzshock knew that Viktor could have easily merged with the shuttle and come flying straight back, so destroying the rocket engines meant he had no means of returning.
And Gwen thought he was dumb.
"Thank you for flying Air Buzzshock!" Buzzshock cackled. "Buh-bye! Not gonna miss ya!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Viktor howled as he disappeared into the endless void.
Rachel and Buzzshock turned their attention back to the moonbase as they flew towards the huge window with a spaceship sticking out of it –
This was no good, Gwen thought. After Trixie had unwillingly reverted her back to human form, it had been downhill from there. The mummy effectively avoided their attacks and disarmed them before they even had a chance to think. And now the five of them were being held suspended in the air by the mummy's bandages. The wrappings were getting tighter around their arms, threatening to snap them in two –
CRASH!
For the third time in less than an hour, the window was smashed open. The mummy looked up just before Rachel landed a flying kick across its face, forcing the mummy to drop it prisoners.
"Benjamin? Rachel?" shouted Trixie, surprised.
"Who else?" Buzzshock cackled.
"WILL Y'ALL STOP BREAKING NUMBUH 5'S MOONBASE?!" Numbuh 5 screamed. She was having a rough first day.
The mummy shook its head free of the momentary daze before turning on the newcomers. Buzzshock gave it no chance to retaliate as he shocked a bolt of green lightning into the mummy's chest and slammed it against a steel door at the end of the room. While the mummy lay slumped on the floor, Rachel ran over and slammed her fist on the big red button next to the door. The door opened behind the mummy as it rose to its feet, turning on Rachel, when it was blasted inside the room by Buzzshock's lightning. Once inside, Rachel slammed the button again before the mummy could recover, closing the steel door and trapping it inside. The blonde teen then punched the second button underneath the first, which sets off a warning siren inside the room. The mummy looks back with a terrible fright as it realizes that it had been led into an airlock.
The irony was not lost on it.
The mummy spread its bandages, attempting to reach out for anything to hold it in place. But the room was smooth and had nothing to latch onto. So when the airlock doors opened, the vacuum it created shot the bandaged alien into space, sending it hurtling through the stars.
"Okay…I think we're good…," said Rachel, leaning against her knees while panting. She took a few short breaths before removing her makeshift helmet. "Is everyone okay?"
"Yeah, we're good," said Buzzshock.
The Omnitrix beeped and Buzzshock exploded in a flash of red light. Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86 were stupefied to see that the cartoonish battery alien had transformed into a human boy.
"Wow, that's some timing," said Ben.
"Glad everything turned out all right," said Max in relief.
"All right?" screeched Numbuh 86, making everyone but Rachel flinch. "How are we all right? Aliens attacking the Earth! Adults in the Kids Next Door moonbase! And now you – "she pointed an accusing finger at Rachel, "just come waltzing back just like that! You're a traitor to the Kids Next Door! I will see you decommissioned – "
"You can drop the act now, Fanny," said Numbuh 5 coolly. "None o' the other operatives are around. We're safe."
"Wait, what's happening?" asked Trixie cluelessly.
"That's what I'd like to know," said Numbuh 5, turning to Rachel. "What happened out there, Rach? You were supposed to meet up with Maurice so that he could get you into the Teen Ninjas, but you totally blew him off."
"Apologizes, Supreme Leader, ma'am," said Rachel formally, standing at attention. "Teens Next Door Operative Numbuh 362 reporting. I was on my way to the rendezvous point when I intercepted the transmission from Dr. Viktor and his alien cohorts. I knew they were planning something that could pose a threat to the Earth, so I took it upon myself to break off and intervene."
"You made a real mess of things, you know that?" Fanny scolded her. "The decommissioning squad was supposed to track you once you made contact with the Teen Ninjas to prove your loyalty to them. But instead, we had to put on that whole show without anybody around to see it. I had to authorize the assault so that to the other operatives wouldn't be suspicious."
"I'm really sorry, Fanny," Rachel apologized.
"Well, your actions did save the Kids Next Door and the Earth," said Numbuh 5, smirking. "So I guess Numbuh 5 can let it slide, just this once. Numbuh 1 would be proud."
"So let me see if I understand this right," Gwen interjected, pointing to Rachel. "You're like some…undercover teenager for the Kids Next Door?"
"In a nutshell, yeah," Rachel admitted.
"This day just gets more confusing by the minute," Trixie groaned.
"Well, at least the worst is over and the Earth is safe," said Max proudly.
"But you won't be!"
The chilling voice penetrated the command center, sending shivers down everyone spine The seven of them looked around for the origin of the voice when Zs'Skayr suddenly emerged from the floor behind Trixie and Numbuh 86. Before the girls knew what happened, the ghoulish specter lifted them up by their heads and threw them into the wall, knocking them out.
"Ghostfreak?" questioned Ben as the remaining five took their stances. "How did you get here?"
"You're aren't the only one who can hitch a ride on a rocket," hissed Zs'Skayr.
"Your plans finished, you freaky ghost," said Numbuh 5 bravely. "The controls for the satellites are broken and the Kids Next Door on Earth are tearing your machine in New Mexico apart. You're finished."
"Yes, my plans for clouding the Earth in darkness are finished," Zs'Skayr admitted. "But I still have one thing left worth fighting for: revenge!"
The vengeful ghoul flew through the group, knocking them to the floor, while grabbing Ben's wrist and carrying him close to the ceiling. Ben flailed in Zs'Skayr's grip, trying to reach for the Omnitrix, but the specter's claws were firmly wrapped around the watch, preventing him from activating it.
"I've waited a long time for this, Tennyson," Zs'Skayr spat. "Now the power of the Omnitrix shall be mine – "
"Mittentes solem trabem!"
Zs'Skayr screeched as a beam of sunlight struck him in the back, burning his rotted flesh, and unconsciously released his grip on Ben. Fortunately, Max was underneath and caught his grandson in his waiting arms. Zs'Skayr whipped around to Gwen, her hazmat suit discard and holding up her miniature spellbook with her hand still steaming.
"You've learned some new tricks since we last met, child?" he hissed.
"She's not the only one," said Ben as his grandfather set him down.
Ben activated the Omnitrix and cycled through the selection until he came across a new silhouette – one that had been had been graciously provided by a certain mad scientist. Ben slammed down on the dial and exploded in a burst of green light.
Ben's newest form greatly resembled Viktor, but had two normal green eyes and a head of shagging black hair with the Omnitrix dial on his belt. Ben flexed his new form's muscles, assessing his body's strength.
"Electromagnetic body," hummed Ben. "Sweet."
"Sweet fourth flavor!" cried Numbuh 5 in surprise. "Did that boy just turn into Frankenstein."
"No – Frankenstrike!" Frankenstrike introduced himself proudly.
Zs'Skayr, on the other hand, was unimpressed by this reproduction of his long lost servant. As the ghoulish specter took a swipe at his face, Frankenstrike raised his arms to deflect it, sparks flying on contact. Frankenstrike retaliated by throwing three punches, all of which went through the Ghostfreak as he turned intangible. Frankstrike went for another punch, which was caught in Zs'Skayr's claws. This proved to foolish as the Frankenstein hero released a surge of green lighting from his coils, down his arm, and into Zs'Skayr, making him reel back in pain.
Zs'Skayr soon shook off the jolt and stared down his most hated enemy when a laser suddenly struck him from the side. Though it caused no harm to him, it was annoying, especially when more of them kept showering him like hail.
Zs'Skayr raised his hand to block the shots aimed for his head and peered through his claws. Max, Gwen, Rachel, and Numbuh 5 had all picked up discarded KND weapons and were shooting him with everything they had. It was a valiant effort, Zs'Skayr would admit, but utterly pointless. The fiendish ghoul thrust one of his striped tentacles at the group, forcing Max and the girls to dive out of the way, and punctured the metal floor. Zs'Skayr pulled back his tentacle when Frankenstrike sucker punched him across the skull, throwing him into the console.
"It's go time, Ghostfreak!" yelled Frankenstrike, pounding his electrified fists together. "You and me!"
"Wouldn't have it any other way!" hissed Zs'Skayr as he lunged at his enemy.
"Our weapons are ineffective," Rachel told Numbuh 5, helping her leader stand as they watched Frankenstrike exchange blows. "I'm afraid we're no good here."
"There's gotta be something we can do," said Numbuh 5, scowling. "Numbuh 5 isn't gonna sit her while her moonbase is under attack by a freaky ghost."
"Well, his weakness appears to be sunlight," said Rachel, pulling herself and Numbuh 5 as a blast of green lightning flew over their heads. "Right now, the moonbase command center is facing the Earth. But if we were to alter its direction…."
"Numbuh 5 likes the way you think," said Numbuh 5, grinning.
Zs'Skayr swerved through the air around Frankenstrike's lightning bolts, unaware of the two children making their way to the upper level of the command center. They arrived at the command chair, where Numbuh 5 promptly seated herself. Numbuh 5 lifted the armrest to reveal a hidden button, which upon pressing caused a computer panel to rise from the floor in front of her. Numbuh 5's finger's flew across the keyboard, only stopping briefly as Zs'Skayr tackled Frankenstrike into the wall beneath them.
"Time to give this ugly creepy a sunburn he'll never forget," said Numbuh 5.
"Kids Next Door moonbase directional system activated!" the computer announced.
Off to the side of the room, Gwen was flipping through her spellbook desperately while her grandpa were safeguarding the unconcious Trixie and Numbuh 86. The sunbeam spell she used earlier only caused minor damage. Not enough to help her cousin, who was currently getting the snot beat out of him because Zs'Skayr's unfair intangibility advantage.
"C'mon, c'mon, there's got to be something," Gwen groaned. She eventually came to a page that made her eyes light up. "A solidifying spell? 'Prevents spirits from passing through solid objects, making them easy to trap.' That's perfect! This is just what we need!"
Gwen looked back at her cousin as Zs'Skayr brought Frankenstrike to his knees. The monstrous hero glared defiantly as Zs'Skayr hovered over him. Frankenstrike raised his hand and released a surge of lightning on the ghoul, but Zs'Skayr predictably turned intangible to let it pass through him. Gwen raised her hand to Zs'Skayr, screwing her brow with determination, and cast the spell:
"Hoc solidum exspiravit!"
A beam of pink light shot out of Gwen's extended hand and hit Zs'Skayr in the back, covering him in an ethereal glow. Zs'Skayr looked at his claws, pondering what strange sorcery this was, when his body suddenly solidified. And since Frankstrike was still shooting lightning, Zs'Skayr was hit full blast and sent flying into the control console.
Zs'Skayr slumped to the ground, groaning with unfamiliar pain, when Frankenstrike stomped up to him. The monstrous hero wrapped his large hand around Zs'Skayr's throat and lifted him into the air. The villainous ghoul flailed and tried to turn intangible, but his body would not respond to his command.
"Release me, you human whelp!" screeched Zs'Skayr.
"Like that's gonna happen," scoffed Frankenstrike, who then gave his cousin a thumbs-up. "Nice spell, Gwen."
"Honestly, I didn't think it would work," Gwen admitted.
Suddenly, the ground (or moon) trembled beneath their feet. Everyone looked out the window and were flabbergasted as a line of several dozen rockets popped out of the craters of the moon, all igniting one after the other. Moments later, Gwen noticed that the stars were starting to move…until she realized that they were the ones moving. The entire moon was spinning!
"They have rockets built into the moon?" Gwen yelled absurdly.
"At this point, I think it's best not to question it," said Max placidly.
Zs'Skayr was incapable of understanding what they hoped to accomplish with their ridiculous parlor trick. That was, until he caught the first glimpses of sunlight poking through the glass. When the realization hit, Zs'Skayr flailed and scratched at Frankenstrike's arm in desperation.
"Let me go! Let me go!" he screech.
"What's the matter? Scared?" Frankenstrike mocked him.
"Invade my moon and your butt is done," said Numbuh 5 giddily. "Look out, freak, here comes the sun!"
The moonbase was fully facing the sun now, filling the command center with light. Zs'Skayr continued his fruitless attempt to become intangible and escape until the sunlight touched his skin, causing him to burst into purple flames. Zs'Skayr's terrified screams echoed throughout the moonbase – a sound that would terrify the children in their nightmares – until his body had become ash and everything fell into silence.
At long last, it was over – they won.
It was twenty minutes after the battle with Zs'Skayr and his minions. Rachel, Numbuh 5, and the now recovered Numbuh 86 escorted the Tennysons through a secret tunnel in the command center to a hidden spaceport underneath the treehouse. They didn't want any operative to know that unauthorized personnel had set foot on the moonbase, especially when one was an adult and the other was a undercover fugitive.
Numbuh 86 was prepping a school bus that been reconstructed into a makeshift spaceship while Numbuh 5 was off to the side, speaking through a telephone made from a pipe.
"What's the situation down there, Numbuh 2?" asked Numbuh 5.
"That werewolf thing was tough – took down half our operatives before we pinned it down," Numbuh 2. "We've got it contained in a special made cage. I guess you could say its…in the doghouse!"
Numbuh 5 pinched the bridge of her nose, fighting back the urge to groan, while her former teammate laughed himself silly.
"Just get that thing to Kids Next Door Arctic Base and put it on ice," Numbuh 5 ordered. "Numbuh 5, out."
"There, the flight pattern have been set," said Numbuh 86, stepping off the bus. "It'll take ye back to Cape Canaveral where you started."
"I suppose this is good bye," said Max, offering his hand to Numbuh 5, who shook it happily. "It's been an honor working with you, Supreme Leader."
"The honor was all mine…Numbuh 10," said Numbuh 5, smirking.
Max said nothing, but smiled knowing and climbed aboard the bus.
"If you need a kick butt superhero in your organization," Ben offered, "feel free to call me."
"Like we need help from some stupid boy!" Numbuh 86 scoffed.
"I like her," Gwen smirked, shoving her cousin onto the bus.
Trixie nodded in appreciation to the KND operatives and climbed aboard with the rest of her family, leaving Rachel alone with Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86.
"Well, guess we better get going," said Rachel. "Got to come up with an excuse for the Teen Ninja for why I blew them off."
"I'm sure Marcus will figure something out," said Numbuh 5 confidently. "Take care of yourself, Rach."
Numbuh 86 pulled her old friend into a hug and said, "If you ever need anything, I'm only a phone call away."
"I know, Fanny," said Rachel, patting her on the back before separating. She gave her friends a cocky grin with a two fingered salute. "Catch you dumb kids later."
Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86 chuckled good-naturedly as Rachel got on the bus. The blonde teen took the wheel after making sure everyone was in their seatbelts (Safety first, people!) and pulled the lever, activating the bus's thrusters. Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 86 waved solemnly as their friends (both old and new) flew out of the hanger and made the flight back to Earth.
"Mission accomplished," said Max proudly. "I guess saving the Earth beats a moonwalk any day."
"I wish I could've stayed a little long to study the Kids Next Doors technology," commented Trixie. "It's like…completely nonsensical. There is no fathomable way any of their technology should work the way it did."
"Yep, the Kids Next Door are weird like that," Rachel admitted.
"I just hope this means we've seen the last of Ghostfreak," said Gwen apprehensively.
"Don't worry about it," said Ben confidently, resting his hands behind his head. "That loser is gone, and he's never coming back."
But Ben was ignorant to the truth lurking in the background. For as they made their way to Earth, the Omnitrix's faceplate glowed yellow and e ghoulish silhouette appeared….
END TRANSMISSION
This was probably my biggest hurdle yet, adding new scenes and cutting out unnecessary ones in a way that hopefully came out as coherent. But, thankfully, this is the end of Season three, which means there's only one season left until the finale. And we're starting off with a bang.
Next chapter: Secrets of the Omnitrix, Part 1
