Chapter Text
After they talked for a while and Jack was able to get Sam to believe him that it wasn't intentional that he didn't tell her about Kerry, it seriously just was so secondary to him that he never thought of telling her, Sam changed into some comfortable clothes to help Jack outside.
While he was mowing the lawn she planted new flowers into the flower boxes on the terrace. Occasionally he stole glances at his wife and was grateful that she wasn't a resentful person. Seeing her so engrossed in her work like she is with every project she's ever working on made him think back to the times when she was still a Captain working her way to being the best 2IC he's ever had up to Colonel. He's so proud of what she has achieved in her career. And now that she was wearing those cute dungarees framing her baby bump, ready to be a mother, he was never more in love with her.
His eyes were fixed on her belly as he realized it stopped moving. Looking up he saw her looking at him. Busted! She caught him staring at her, but he was rewarded with a full Sam Carter megawatt smile. He smiled back, shaking his head in disbelief that she was able to make him blend out everything around him except her.
Jack finished with the lawn and joined her on the terrace. He saw her circling her neck to relieve the tension.
"Hey!" He approached her, kissing his way from her mouth over her throat down to her neck while he stepped behind her. His hands massaged her tense neck.
She leaned into him and his arms found their way around her body. Folding his hands under her belly he lifted it up just a little to take over the weight of their child for her. Sam sighed in relief, this was exactly what she needed right now. They loved this position, him taking the weight off of her, holding his unborn child and her leaning on his chest, not just for support but also for physical contact. She let her head fall back onto his shoulder, she was tall enough to place it there instead of his chest. Sam felt his fingers softly caressing her rounded belly through the fabric.
She sighed heavily before she closed her eyes and spoke: "Mmh, this is nice!"
"Yes, it is!" Jack smiled. Drawing her even closer so that her back was pressed against his front he kissed the top of her head. Slowly he lowered her belly again, desperately in need to feel her skin under his touch he pushed his hands under the bib of her dungarees and began to roll up her top underneath. He had freed her belly, the shirt stopped right below her breasts, which gave him access to the softness of her skin.
A moan escaped Sam when she felt his fingers on her sensitive skin, the bigger she became the more sensitive was her skin.
"God, that feels so good!"
"Oh I can make you feel even better!" He seductively whispered.
"Of that I'm sure." She replied, pressing her body just enough back to feel his growing erection.
This gave him room to let his right hand slide down towards another sensitive spot of hers.
"Spread your legs!" He ordered her. His breath on her skin and the fact that he sounded more like General O'Neill instead of her husband made goosebumps appear all over her body. And his commanding tone made her just a little wetter.
Out of reflex she answered: "Yes, Sir!"
His hard length was pressing uncomfortably against his tight pants, but he was determined to pleasure his wife.
"So Colonel, talk to me. What do you want me to do?"
"Touch me."
He couldn't suppress his groan. "That's 'Touch me, Sir!' for you, Colonel!"
"Sorry, Sir!" She panted heavily.
While one of his hands was still rubbing her clit the other one opened the clasp of her pants. They fell around her ankles, stepping out of them she tossed them away with one foot, never losing contact with her husband, her back still pressed to his chest. In an instant his free hand grabbed her breast, squeezing it and pinching her nipple through the fabric of her shirt. He was pleasantly surprised that she hadn't bothered putting on a bra.
"Oh god, Jack… I… mmh… I'm going to come…" She gasped, her fingers finding their way into his short hair, looking for support.
"Then do it, Colonel!" Jack ordered, but Sam had other plans.
"No, Sir!" that got him stunned, "Want you, Sir! Now!" She whispered and reached behind herself to stroke his hard lengths.
He moaned, surprised by her touch. His lips nibbled on her earlobe, distracting her while he also pushed down her panties.
"Lean forward, put your hands on the table and spread your legs!" Knowing fully well what his tone did to her. She obeyed.
Seeing his pregnant wife so exposed to him, her back begging him to push into her, he became uncomfortably hard, took off his pants and entered her without further ado. He grabbed her breasts under her shirt, squeezing them tighter with each thrust he made. Pushing frantically into her it didn't take them long until they both moaned in pleasure.
"God, how can you still be so tight? Fuck…" was all he could say when her walls contracting around him, pushing him over the edge too.
"I love you, Sam!"
"I know. I love you too!"
Sam turned around, blushing as she realized what they just did, in the backyard. Luckily it was a secured spot, no one could see their garden. She giggled, Jack loved the sound of it. He reached for her face and kissed her soft lips lovingly.
Monday came and Jack found himself in another very long, very boring meeting again. Feeling Kerry's eyes on him for a great amount of time he tried to ignore her stares.
Hours later the meeting was finished and she quickly packed her stuff, speaking up to Jack before he could leave the room.
"General! You've got a minute?"
Of course she would want to speak to him, she wasn't one to let this go.
"Sure Miss Johnson, follow me to my office." He held the door open for her and motioned towards his office.
Inside, he quickly closed the door to have the conversation in a private setting. And as soon as she heard the door click Kerry spoke.
"God Jack, what the hell were you thinking? Not telling your wife that you're working with me from time to time? Were you even thinking at all?"
"I'm sorry Kerry, I sure wasn't thinking. Until yesterday I wasn't even aware that I'd never mentioned it. I'm glad that you and I still get along so well and I have no idea why I haven't said anything to her, because I've got nothing to hide."
"Jack, I just wanted to check if everything is alright with Sam. She was very upset when I saw her and I just wanted to make sure that I'm not the cause of any problems."
"No it's alright. She accepted my explanation and we're okay now."
"I really like her, you know?" She told him and he smiled.
"She told me nearly the same, and I'm not sure whether it's a good thing or not. Not sure if I like it that my wife and my ex girlfriend get along so well up to the point where you get the chance of comparing me." Kerry laughed at Jack's defeated expression.
"When we broke up I just saw that you were in love with her and I wouldn't want to get in the way, but now that I had a chance to talk with her I can see why you love her. She's great. Would it be awkward if I asked her to join me for a coffee some time?"
"Yes, it would! For me. But as much as I'm not sure what to think of it, I'm sure Sam would like that. She has not many female friends and since Janet died she's been missing this girl's stuff from time to time. How much is there to talk about me anyway?"
"Oh you have no idea Jack O'Neill, not the slightest."
Jack grimaced at the thought of the two women talking about him "Damn, I'm screwed."
Kerry laughed and touched his upper arm to calm him down. "Don't you worry! We have so many topics to discuss, you're just a little part of them." Looking at the clock on his office wall she cursed, "Shit, I'm late. Gotta catch a flight. I'm back in two weeks, please say 'hi' to Sam and tell her I'll call her when I'm home."
They didn't get their coffee date until 4 weeks later and decided for a cute little coffee shop just around the corner from the O'Neill's home. Kerry was the first one to arrive and went for a table out front so that they could enjoy the sun and watch the people who were passing by. She got Sam and herself a latte and was rummaging in her purse when Sam arrived.
"Oh my gosh, Sam, you're huge!" Kerry exclaimed.
"Thank you very much." Sam grimaced.
"No! No, that's not what I meant. I mean, I didn't want it to sound like it actually did. You're glowing and look so cute. I was just shocked how much your belly grew over the last few weeks. It's still three weeks to go, right? I'm wondering how much bigger it can get."
Sam carefully sat down and reached for the coffee. Kerry didn't miss Sam's hiss when she sat down.
"Yeah, I know, huh? I'm curious myself, because I don't want to imagine what's going to happen in those last 3 weeks. I'm already uncomfortable, haven't seen my feet in ages and I'm aching everywhere." Sam complained, glad to have someone other to talk about this than Jack. "My back is aching constantly since the belly dropped down and the baby's head is torturing my bladder. The last few days I've been feeling nauseous, but other than that I'm great."
Kerry laughed "Wow, sounds like pregnancy is really fun! But you're looking relaxed anyway, so I assume it's not that bad."
Smiling Sam put a hand on top of the belly. "Now I'm relaxed, we got the nursery ready and all I have to do now is wait for that little guy to arrive. The contractions are a bit disturbing, but otherwise it's fine."
"Contractions?" Kerry asked, surprised.
"Just Braxton-Hicks, had them for a few days now. Today they seem more frequent, but they are expected when you're this far along. Enough about me, how's the planning of the wedding progressing?"
She nodded, satisfied for the moment. "It's going great, we have a date, booked the church and a hotel for the party. We just need to sort out the catering and cake."
"Wow, that's great. The cake tasting was probably the most fun part for Jack." Sam remembered.
"That I can imagine. This weekend we're going to have a look at wedding rings and on Monday I've got an appointment to look for the wedding dress." While she talked her eyes were fixed on Sam who with every moment seemed to get more uncomfortable and was rubbing her belly to ease the obvious tension. She learned to read people over the years and Sam was very uneasy right now. Light beads of sweat appeared on her forehead and her breathing got faster, yet she tried to hide it, Kerry wasn't sure if it was out of denial or just because Sam wouldn't want to spoil their date. Reaching for her Kerry asked: "Sam, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, sorry I got distracted. So what kind of dress do you like? Something on your mind already?"
Okay, when Sam was going to ignore, Kerry would as well. At least for now. "I know that I don't want a radiant white, I'm tending to something ivory or even champagne colored. Otherwise I'm open to suggestions. I'm not that princess kind of girl, maybe a bit more sexy."
"Yeah, that'd be definitely more your style. Maybe the next time we see each other… Argh…" Sam stopped mid sentence and held her stomach.
"Sam?"
"Don't know, this feels strange. It feels so much more. I don't know how to explain…oh oh!"
"Oh oh? What? Talk to me, Sam."
"I'm pretty sure my water just broke."
"Your….What? Are you saying you're in labor?"
"Possibly!"
"Possibly? That's not funny, what am I going to do? Should I call Jack? Should I take you to the hospital? Sam you've got to help me here…" Kerry asked her, slightly freaking out. But Sam just smiled, trying to stay calm for both of them.
"I would be very grateful if you could take me to the hospital, we can call Jack from the car."
"Alright, let's go. The sooner we'll get there the better. Because I am the last person you want to be stuck with, I have absolutely no idea what to do."
"That's okay Kerry, I'd rather be at the hospital as well." Sam joked.
On their way to Kerry's car she grabbed her phone and dialed Jack's office. She uttered a silent prayer that he would answer and not be held in an important meeting.
"O'Neill!"
Thank God! "Jack, it's Kerry…"
