The Minecraft Story: The Beginning: Chapter 27
Herobrine heard his mutant roar before he could react. He watched through the trees as his mutant zombie was attacked by a group of knights. Some piglins wanted to go in and fight the knights but he ordered them to stay back. He wanted to witness its fighting ability. It killed several knights before they began to flee.
Perfect. He thought. I was worried it might be too sluggish to fight a group. But I don't think that will be a problem.
Herobrine followed it as it chased down the remaining knights. It was too soon.
No, no, no, no, NO! He thought. This isn't the plan. I didn't think they'd return here so soon. I wanted a few more days.
When the mutant zombie broke out of the forest, he knew he couldn't wait any longer. It was heading right for the fortress.
Oh well. He thought, admitting defeat. Looks like I'm going to have to attack that fortress sooner than I thought. He made his way to his mutant creeper. It was a marvelous beast, a creature of pure destruction. It was his best creation yet and soon, he would see it in action.
"Listen up!" Herobrine addressed his piglins. "The plans have been moved up! We will attack the fortress right now!" The piglins squealed and raised their swords and crossbows in the air. "The plan remains the same! Follow the creeper to the fortress, defend it with your lives! Any piglins who leave the creeper will be executed! Now go my piglin warriors! Kill everyone in that fortress!" The piglins squealed even louder. A smile beamed across Herobrine's face. He couldn't wait until Notch learned about everything.
…
Notch grew tired of the Sun. Even though he hadn't seen it for over a thousand years, traveling for the past three days with it beaming down on him had begun to wear him out. He was disgusted by what he learned about his humans.
A religious order. He thought. I never wanted them to know we even existed. Of course my brother had other ideas.
Notch never wanted to be worshiped. He only wanted to watch humanity grow and evolve. But Herobrine wanted the humans to see them as the Gods they were. He wanted them to know they had all the power to do what they wanted. He wanted to control them. Herobrine had initially agreed to stay away from the humans, but he quickly got bored. That's when he gave them the ability to hate and created the monsters. It was purely for his entertainment.
Notch remembered the disgust he felt when he found out. Watching the humans fight each other and the monsters made him puke. He thought he could talk to his brother and get him to reverse the damage he'd done, but Herobrine embraced the chaos like a warm blanket. He claimed it should be the natural way of life. Of course, this led to their fight. It was too big of a fight to hide from the humans, they'd seen everything. Once the fighting was over a human asked him what he was.
Why did I tell him? He thought. There was no reason to. My speaking is probably what led to creating this religion. I thought hiding away would've deterred them from this. He questioned himself. No, what am I thinking? I never had that thought before. There was another reason I went into hiding. What was it? It was so long ago, I forgot. It doesn't matter now. If what I heard was correct, this Fort Deepslate might be the best chance I have at finding him. He'd read in the libraries of the fort. He learned how big and strong it was and how some of the most powerful men in the order would be there. He was always up for a fight and this giant fortress has to be one of his targets. Even if he hadn't attacked yet, powerful leaders reside there, surely they can tell me something or have a guess of where he might be.
Notch continued walking and the Sun continued to beam down on him.
