What is this? A new crossover? Yup. That's right. I'm returned with a new project, a crossover between Danganronpa and Oshi no Ko this time.

If you're new here, well, let me introduce myself; my name's Rookie, and I'm a crossover writer who loves crack pairs and creating new scenarios while painting the character's truth to their characterization.

If you already know me, you know what to expect, so I now have two big stories to continue, MS and this one. I took a small break from MS, but that doesn't mean I'll abandon it; I'll just update the best I can for each story.

This crossover has been planned for over 6 months; with the help of my girlfriend SerenadePNG, we've come to create this unique and peculiar crossover. Honestly, it's been more fun than I expected! So this time this story is not done by myself but by her as well. This story is divided in three acts, we have from start to ending already planned but minor changes might come as we write the episodes.

That being said...
Please enjoy and remember to leave comments with your opinions

This is a fictional story.

Well… In reality, almost everyone in this world is fiction.

People fabricate, exaggerate, and hide every inconvenience.

People want to be lied to regularly.

In this world, lies are a weapon.

It is the new edition of the Japan Idol Festival. Many idols, from underground idols to top fan favorites, have gathered to perform. Many famous names were in just one place for an entire day.

Two specific names brought the maximum attention to the event: the name of one particular group that has been growing in popularity with each concert and each new song they bring an exciting trio that shines together the new and reborn B-Komachi!

Posters of the trio filled the entire place with the mark "Sold out."

Fans gathered, many recording the event in excitement, and many others live streaming to share with the viewers how happy they were to be here tonight. Some made new friends, others came together in friend groups, and others came alone…

One particular individual, wearing a long black hood covering his face, this person stared at one of the many posters in the place, his eyes focused on each girl one at a time…A pair of light blue eyes going from Yellow to White, from White… To Red. After a couple of seconds passed, he headed into the stadium.

As he walked, more posters decorated the area, and only one set of posters surpassed the number of posters of B-Komachi, the center of her group, a singular and unique Idol who transmitted some similarity to a large number of her audience.

The main event of the night, the one with the Idol crown, taking the number one spot in this industry: Sayaka Maizono.

But this man ignored it completely… He wasn't here for her. As he continued walking, more and more people gathered at the stadium's entrance.

Fans quickly filled the place, spots taken everywhere, and many others found space where there wasn't even one to begin with! Since it promised to be an event for the ages.

Lost in the public, the figure was nowhere to be seen.

Soon a group of friends made their way through the same path, blocking any possible point of view of where we could've possibly gone through.

"Quick quick! It's going to begin!"

"We are gonna lose the best spots, c'mon guys!"

"W-wait up, guys! Don't leave me behind!"

And so, with a packed stadium, the pre-main event was about to begin.

"B-Komachi is next. We have one minute. Get ready, everyone!" One of the staff members said. The whole staff was moving fast, left and right, going from one place to another, getting the set ready.

While they were doing their work, the three stars of the group lined up… A redhair is in the center, and two blondes are on each side.

Makeup staff members rushed in to make a few final touches before the time ran out.

"45 seconds!"

Heart-pounding, this is an important concert. They were a more underground Idol group the last time they were here. Today, they are the pre-main event. This is a massive jump in just one year.

"30 seconds!"

The makeup was ready. I hope it could help with the sweaty palms, but it's okay. They're fine. They've done this multiple times before. This is no different from any other presentation. The only difference will be that the main event will be for B-Komachi next year!

"20 seconds!"

In the middle of all this staff movement, one boy with spiky hair went upstairs to manage the lights, illumination, and general decoration, On his way to the controls, he saw a man with glasses, wearing a staff uniform, heading his way. This man smiled and gave him a small pat on the shoulder.

"Good luck rookie" The man then pushed his glasses up and continued downstairs.

"At least give me some advice before tagging out…" A sigh escaped his mouth, tilting his head as he saw the man leaving. "That was weird though, wasn't he suppose-"

"10 seconds!"

"HEY NEWBIE! Get to the control panel! Move it!" The production assistant says through the radio on his arm, scaring him off.

"Ah-! Right!"

With only 10 seconds left, he arrived quickly at the panel, pushing a few buttons and pulling a lever to aim at the three girls in the center of the scenery.

"Put the lights on the right spot! Remember to focus on Arima Kana and follow her closely, just like we did in practice, now!"

As he was told, he followed the instructions and started the illumination effects on the three girls but kept the focus on the one in the middle.

The assistant returns to his own work, making sure everything is in order. Meanwhile, the director and producer of the transmission order the cameras to start the broadcast on TV and Streaming.

B-Komachi is ready.

" 5…"

The music starts.

"4"

That hooded man begins to type in his phone.

"3"

A peculiar fan prepares himself for the concert with B-Komachi's penlights, the three colors: White, Red, and Yellow.

"2!"

A pair of glasses and a staff uniform were in a trash can. No one else was near the place; all the attention went entirely to the concert.

"1!"

Three pairs of eyes opened: blue, pink, and red.

"Action!"

The curtains open, and fans go crazy as the music plays. The three greet everyone with a scream and cheerful smiles.

We! Are! Star-t-rain

Check! Now! ! C'mon! C'mon! C'mon! C'mon!
We! Are! Star-t-rain

OST: STAR T RAIN - Oshi no Ko

They begin their choreography, the center: Arima Kana starts with the lyrics, and soon Ruby Hoshino and Mem-cho do the follow-up.

Singing along, the fans widely move their penlights as a sign of support for their Idols.

Many yellow and red penlights stand out in between the fans, with just a few white ones but it was still not so far behind… Although, even if it could be said they were "less" white penlights, they still stood out the most, thanks to one peculiar individual.

A blonde with blue eyes, spinning his hands with a straight face, making his performance 100% more confusing even for the more dedicated fans.

But the reaction given by the Idol group was positive, with the center holding her laughter the best she could.

"Now listen, rookie. I'll give you indications, I'll tell you where you'll move your light panel. This will change according to the camera that's on, alright? Now lower the speed, move it through the scenery, and activate the ones on your right."

Despite rushing him earlier, the supervisor is considerate with his team, especially with the newbie.

"You got it?"

"I got it"

Following his instructions, the guy managed to keep up, but taking extreme care with the equipment, he cleaned the sweat from his forehead with the sleeves of his staff jacket and took a small breath afterward.

"Take it easy, kid, if you sweat, you'll damage the equipment. Now activate the switch that you should have above you to your right, it'll activate a signal for the screen change. Don't get distracted by the ladies"

"I wish I could allow myself to get distracted…" He said that more to himself. He's still a man, after all. Who didn't enjoy cute-looking girls dancing and singing? Especially B-Komachi. He wouldn't call himself a fan, but it's hard not to know who B-Komachi is nowadays.

"When the chronometer indicates it, you'll have a panel change, so get ready to go to the ones you have in front of you. Those are automated to aim for the final act. Ready?"

"I am" He responded and continued with his work.

Back with the fans, that peculiar dancing fan received a sudden notification on his phone, the loud concert noise didn't allow him to hear, but he did feel the phone vibrating in his pocket.

He ignored it, thinking it was probably spam, but he'd be proven wrong as more messages came—two, three, probably five.

And that was weird for him. Only a few people would text him at this hour, and those people know he'd be here… An emergency, perhaps?

He picked up his phone and opened the text.

His eyes winded out in shock at what he read.

Aquamarine Hoshino.

I know who you are looking for.

Turn to your right.

Revenge is tempting.

Isn't it?

I have something you want.

I'll be waiting.

His gaze went to the right, and there he saw him. That person with a black hood covering his face, this person turned his back on him and started walking, heading to the backstage where the changing rooms were… The same ones B-Komachi will be returning to once the concert ends.

Aqua's eyes widened for a second time, realizing this person was heading freely into a restricted area, his eyes looked around for security, but for some damn reason, there was not a single guard around.

This person knows who he is, and he's obviously calling him out. Why? Revenge…? No, there's no way he knows something about his plans for revenge. Only one person knows about this, and he is sure she would never do something like this.

… There's only one way to figure it out. He typed the police phone number and headed towards that man's direction.

The song was about to end, so the guy handling the lights was finally about to have a few seconds break, or so he thought.

"It seems that we are having problems with the sound… Hey kid, you know your instructions follow them as instructed you, and don't change anything unless I say so, got it? Follow your indications. I'll be back-"

The radio suddenly turned off. He tried pressing the button repeatedly, but it did not react. "Now this is weird…"

The song is about to end, so there is no time for that, he can check it up once he finishes here. So he heads to the light in the front, waiting for them to move on their own automatically.

Just one small detail: it's not working. The lights remain in the same spot without moving…

"Well, this is just fantastic… Three problems in a row can't be coincidences, right?" First, the supervisor said there were some sound problems, then the radio went off on its own, and now this… "Just what's going on?"

He headed back to the control panel and tried pressing the buttons to make them work, but all his attempts ended with the same result: nothing. "Okay, what is actually going on?"

If pressing buttons doesn't work, he'll have to activate the manual controls by pulling the second lever, which he was instructed to do only in emergencies… Well, he considers this to be one.

His hand reached the lever, and just when he was about to pull it down… Something felt off.

It's warm. The lever feels warm… Why? So far, the concerts have been going smoothly since the event began, no one reported having to use the lever before… Yet, it feels warm, as if it's been recently used.

Something was not right, and he had a hunch that if he pulls this lever right now… He'll regret it. He has come to learn to listen to his instincts, and right now, it's telling to live that alone…The song is ending, it's time to do the finale without wasting more time… So, it's time to improvise.

"B-Komachi!" Ruby Hoshino happily screamed, making the final pose kneeling on one knee.

"With our love!" Mem-Cho followed up with a wide smile, doing her final pose, similar to Ruby's but on the right.

"For you all!" Kana Arima in the middle doing the final pose too, with a shaped heart made by her hands… "Damn it, this idea is so ridiculous, why we allowed Ruby to come up with it…!? Why did I allow myself to do it in the first place!?"

The lights came a few seconds late, not for much, but it was still a very sightly noticeable delay, at least for a professional like herself, an average person wouldn't even notice it, but someone like Kana who's been in the showbiz for long enough could tell the difference.

An over obsessed fan could too, but we are not talking about them now.

On top of B-Komachi, the boy found a way to make the lights work, using the ones already aimed in their direction with a filter, or what seemed to be a filter. Truth be told, he only picked up the first thing that could create the visual color effect he needed, and it worked... somehow.

Regardless, even if Kana noticed it and the staff too, the fans didn't, as they continued cheering with excitement, waving their penlights widely.

And just when they were about to break the pose and interact with the fans by hyping them for the next song…

"Someone get them off the stage!" One of the staff members yelled as everything at the back was a mess. Staff members were walking out, others were picking up their stuff, and so on.

Another made an X signal with his arms to B-Komachi, which meant that they had to end the concert now, much to the disappointment of two of the three members, but the third one being Kana… Just raised an eyebrow in confusion, that signal is only for emergencies.

"Good night everyone! Thank you all so much for coming! We will be waiting for all of you in the Meet & Greet in 30 minutes!" Ruby announced as she waved her hands to the fans, clearly not understanding the whole meaning of the signal.

Kana and Mem quickly follow up, waving and saying their goodbyes to the confused audience, and the confusion grows even more when security finally appears to guide everyone outside the stadium.

"What do you mean it's over!?"

"Man I've been waiting for this for weeks…!"

"This is disappointing…"

"Wow, some "pre-main" event huh?"

"This is lame! I want a refund!"

Inevitably, fans began to complain, social media will not look pretty for the next few days…

"I'm sorry, ladies, but the merchandise sale has been canceled; we are experiencing problems with the signal and communication. The connection to the channels has even been cut off." One of the staff members explained that the three girls shared a mixture of confusion and worry.

"Maybe that's why the lights were off…? " Kana thought. So what? You're just going to cancel it? Just like that?" because communication problems are never enough to cancel a whole event with one main event still pending.

"Huh!? No communication!? What do you mean there's no communication?" Ruby quickly took out her phone from her pocket to confirm.

There is no signal, not even one bar. "And what about the merchandise!?"

"Don't say it so loud, Ruby! Or else someone might hear, and it'll cause panic!" Mem tried to say, but once she looked at her phone too, seeing there was not even one single signal bar, she began sweating too… "We really don't have any communication-"

"I really wanted to be in the merchandise stand! ngghhh!" Ruby complained, eyes closed and fist up close to her chest. "Wait! We gotta warn Aqua!" She opened her eyes again once she realized her twin brother was nowhere to be seen.

"That siscon will have a heart attack if he thinks you'll be in danger…" Mem shrugged with a half smile.

"Don't even mention it, or else he'll appear breaking through the wall to "save" his little sister… But no one will appear to save her from him" Kana said, trembling in disgust, which made Ruby pout.

Mem then remembered that HE was in the crowd doing his quirky dance. "Now that you mention it…He was in the public, did he have to leave early?"

Ruby, annoyed by Kana's comment, started to poke her senpai's ribs, Kana in return complained and tried to keep Ruby's hands away from her.

Mem sighed, she would've expected Ruby to worry more for her brother or Kana since it's about her long-time crush.

Both stopped when they heard Mem's question, before neither could say anything, one staff member came by, accompanied by Miyako Saitou.

"Girls, this way"

Ruby and Kana didn't feel the need to worry at first because knowing Aqua he was probably with Miyako already, the only problem is that now that Miyako was here they could notice that Aqua was not with her...

Back with the "newbie"

He heard and noticed everything that was happening down there. "No one cancels merchandise sales just for a "little" communication problem"

"HEY! NEWBIE! You better come down, now!" The production assistant yelled, having to come all the way there.

"...Understood." This is just becoming more and more odd for him.

Once he was down, the assistant extended his hand to him. "Your radio, let me see it"

He gave him the radio, and he began to examine it, trying to turn it on but with the same results he had; Nothing.

"This is a severe security problem… We are going to have to escort the girls and the other guests to another place that are NOT the dressing room, security will handle it. You go with the other technician and staff members to Room A, got it?"

He nodded and began walking with the other staff members, but now another question arose… Why not the dressing rooms? Could it be that something happened there? The mere thought of it made his stomach twist.

The reason? He has a friend there… And now he's worried about her.

Outside he could see two lines were made, one for the idols and guests and the other for staff members.

But something caught his attention…And not the pretty ladies next to him, but a group of guards, with a couple of what seemed to be officers, who were escorting someone through another hall that led to the exit.

He caught a glimpse of the person being escorted, and it seemed to be someone around his age. He had blonde hair and was wearing a blue shirt… And by the expression on his face, he appeared to be... confused? Some hints of fear? Anger even?

He was starting to have this weird feeling… His gut was acting up. First, communications were cut off, the lights were not working, and that feeling he had when he was about to pull the lever… This isn't a coincidence; something is going on…

Is this the gut detective she always tells him about?

"Hinata!" That voice. He turned to the other side, and noticed a blue-haired girl rushing his way, wearing her pink Idol outfit but without the make out… Even though it was hard to tell the difference with or without makeup, the girl is a beauty after all. The one and only Sayaka Maizono.

"Maizono-san wait!" The guard keeping her safe followed her close, trying to stop her from getting out of the line of other Idols. "We gotta take you somewhere safe!"

"It'll just take a minute; he's a friend!" she insisted, and made her way towards the boy, who sighed with relief, seeing she was fine. "Are you going to be interrogated about what's happening?"

"I think so…"

"Maizono-san, please, is not safe. We gotta return!"

"One minute!" Sayaka said, irritated already, waving the guard to go away. "Hinata, be careful…I believe something terrible might have happened…" Sayaka warned, returning to a softer voice now that he was addressing him and not the guard, which made Hajime laugh awkwardly for those quick changes of humor.

"You don't say…" He sees the guards reaching the end of the hall, and he can't be sure why, but if that boy crosses that exit door, there will be no turning back. "Ah, this will end terribly for me, isn't it?" He said to himself, confusing Sayaka for a second. "Keep yourself safe Maizono, I'll be back…"

And so he walked out of the line, heading towards the officers.

"Hey! Hey! Newbie, what do you think you're doing!? Get back to the line!" The assistant producer ordered, but he didn't follow the order this time, he did a 180° turn to face him as he walked backward extending his arms.

"I'm doing my actual full-time job, or something..." He turned back again, continuing his walk towards the guards, who stopped due to the noise and sound of footsteps coming their way.

"What's with all that noise?" Kana asked, peeking just a little to see what was happening now. The noise caught the full attention of B-Komachi, who was last on the Idols line.

"...It's the police!" Mem's said in shock.

"It's Maizono Sayaka!" Ruby said, her bright eyes shining like stars.

"It's Aqua!" Kana finished in pure disbelief, once she realized who the arrested boy was.

"Aqua's under custody!? Huh!?" Mem said in surprise and horror, how come leaving him alone for just a couple of minutes ended with him getting arrested!? She has him as one of the most reasonable of the group!

Miyako was no longer with them, she went to find Aqua herself, but who could guess he was being arrested this whole time!? The trio quickly left the formation and dashed to the guards as well.

"Hey! Wait!" The guard behind them said, but he was completely ignored.

"Hold up, kid," one of the officers said, extending his hand in front of Hinata to stop him."Go back to your line, don't meddle in police matters."

He was about to object, but he could not, thanks to the arrival of B-Komachi practically screaming.

"Hold on! That's my brother!" Ruby said at her arrival. "I know he has a villain's face but he's not a delinquent! Why is he handcuffed!?"

"Ruby…" Aqua didn't know what to say, he didn't expect them to find out so soon. "This is… It's a misunderstanding"

"Of course it's a misunderstanding! What's going on!?" Ruby fought the tears the best she could, but it was hard with so many raw emotions mixed with confusion.

"What kind of misunderstanding causes an arrest!?" Kana asked, arriving second. "Explain what's going on! Having a villain's face doesn't make him one!"

"And so… Aqua's criminal record begins" Mem arrived last, saying that more to herself.

None of the officers seemed willing to answer, and it's completely understandable. Saying it just like that could cause panic among the celebrities, or worse, they'll leak information…

"The only reason we follow this protocol is because it's A; a terrorist attack… Or B; someone was murdered" A new voice joined the group, once they turned around they could see it was none other than Sayaka Maizono herself! Stopping once she was close to B-Komachi

"So what makes Aqua a suspect of any of these? What could he possibly have done? He was just a spectator!" Mem asked. Aqua is just a harmless teenager; she'd go as far as to say kind-hearted, too.

"Murder? Terrorism? Are you saying Aqua could be-? No! He's neither of those, if this is some type of sick joke, it's a terrible one! The only crime he should've been accused of is being a complete siscon!" Kana added, feeling utterly frustrated with this situation. Aqua? A murder!? Stop the nonsense!

"Let my brother go! He has never done anything bad! He was just a few minutes ago doing his stupid dance for us! Right, Aqua!? That's where you were, with the crowd! Right!?" Ruby's tears began to escape through the corner of her eyes.

Aqua couldn't bear it, he couldn't stand any of this! Not the desperation of Kana, and neither Ruby about to break down in tears… But he didn't know how to answer.

Because if he affirms Ruby's claim, it'd be an obvious lie that would just doom him further. If he says the truth, then the worst outcome for him is still that they'll believe he's actually a…

"I just…" He tried to find the proper words, but not knowing what to say was frustrating. How could he approach this situation? This is not something he was prepared for!... At least not so early…

"We'll find out asking one by one. For now, he'll be under custody so go back to your line girls" The officer ordered, and the guard behind the Idols nodded. "Now start with the interrogation for staff members" He gave instructions to a few other guards before starting to take Aqua away.

Any attempt from the girls to try to reach out to them was quickly shut down by the guards getting in the way.

Ruby was finally crying out of frustration, not much but tears finally managed to escape her eyes seeing how they held her brother by the arms and began to pull him away, away from her, Kana held her trying not to cry in frustration too, because this didn't make any sense at all! They just have to deal with this? Receive the sucker punch and watch Aqua being taken away with nothing to do?

"HOLD IT!" Finally, Hinata raised his voice, stopping the officers again.

With confusion and relief too, Ruby perked up, seeing the boy before her.

"I know you have a protocol to follow... But I believe it is a mistake to arrest someone so soon without a proper investigation," he said, unzipping his staff jacket.

"Kid, you're just a staff member. Go back to your line and let us do our work!" One of the officers said, annoyed by the boy's tone. "Just who is this guy anyway?"

"The name's Hajime Hinata" He finally took off his jacket, underneath he was wearing a black shirt with long folded sleeves and a green tie. "And as I said, I believe you're making a mistake by arresting someone so quickly without a proper investigation"

The Officers clicked their tongues, how many kids will be getting in their way today?

"Look, you're a high schooler, aren't you? Let me see your school carnet. If you have something to say, say it during the interrogation, let the police and the investigation team do their job," A second officer said, extending his hand to him, waiting for the ID.

Hajime raised an eyebrow at that comment. "What investigation team?" There were just two officers and a couple of guards, they probably didn't even bother calling an actual investigation team.

"Hey, hey, shut up, kid. You're just a part-time worker here. Now go back to your line unless you want to end up arrested for obstruction and conspiracy," The first officer said again, running out of patience.

"But he's right!" Ruby said, now next to Hajime, staring at the officers with teary eyes. "You can't just take Aqua away like that!"

"Ruby, calm down… There's got to be an explanation for all of this," Mem said, getting next to her and holding her shoulder.

"And that's why I intend to do it, to find the explanation behind this" Hajime finally took out his carnet and showed it to the officers and guards. "Hinata Hajime, I'm a third-year student from the Reserve Course in Hope's Peak Academy… Currently doing my Internships with the Kirigiri Detective Agency"

Everyone, except Sayaka, perked up to this, staring at the boy with disbelief, especially Aqua.

"Huh…?" Is all he could say as he stared at the self-proclaimed detective.

"A staff guy is a detective Intern..!? Talk about unexpected surprises…" Kana had to blink a few times to confirm what she was seeing was real.

"As you can see, I might be an Intern but I've already helped in various cases before. Kirigiri Fuhito himself signed this… Permitting me to Investigate if needed, and since I'm noticing you're following made-up protocols without any proper investigation, I'm afraid I have to step in."

If Aqua couldn't believe it, Ruby neither… Is this guy a real detective? Her white star shined with Hope.

"If you don't believe this is a certified card, you can just ask Maizono Sayaka, she's a student of Hope's Peak also" Hajime added, as the first officer examined the card in disbelief.

"He indeed is! He's nearly graduating as an Intern with the Kirigiri Agency, Kirigiri Kyoko. His boss is my classmate, you know… Just so happens to be The Ultimate Detective." Sayaka shrugged a little.

Between officers, who didn't know who the Kirigiris were?

The Kirigiri family is well known for being the best known detectives in Japan.

Throughout all their history as detectives, there's never been a single case they haven't been able to solve, and that's the public record registered since they've become known.

Before the only way to know who a Kirigiri was, was through the underground world, only because they themselves allowed the rest of the world to know of their existence citizens in Japan know their names, this means is up to imagination how many other cases have been able to solve before they established themselves as a public detective agency…

"I've seen him in action before, he can handle this investigation! He's more than capable, so, please just give him a chance" Nothing works better than a maiden pleads, Sayaka bowed slightly to the officers who shared a tired sigh.

Both shared a glance at each other before eventually giving up.

"Alright kid… You earned yourself a shot" The officer said, giving the card back.

Ruby's eyes lighten up, a glimpse of hope given by that detective boy who stepped up for them...

"BUT!" The office moved his hand upright when Hajime was about to take his card back, annoying him a little. "You can't make an arrest nor contain anyone. Got it?"

"Clear as water… But if he is innocent in my investigation, you'll let him go and arrest who my investigation leads as a potential suspect. We got a deal?" Hajime countered. Raising his arm to take his card back.

The officers hesitated at first, being fair they were already asking way too much so adding more conditions is just a test of his luck, regardless he is an official detective and furthermore Sayaka a popular idol was on his side, one wrong move and they'd become victims of this new popular culture called "cancelation" deciding not to risk it they obliged to the request.

"Sure!" The officer raised his hands.

Hajime smirked and behind him the girls celebrated, Sayaka kindly smiled as Ruby clasped her hands, and Mem threw a punch in the air whispering a yes.

"We'll take you to the crime scene... But the girls will go back to the line to enter the custody room, and this guy here will come with us" The officer explained. It was fair enough

"That's fine, and it's better for me if he comes along too, I have to ask him questions after all" With that said, and agreeing, the officers began to lead the way back to the crime scene.

Kana felt her emotions overwhelm her to the point she bit her thumb, feeling the anxiety taking over… What was she supposed to say here…? How can someone react to your dear friend crush getting arrested on the spot!?

She's the one who was yet to say something but, exactly what she could say!? Of course Aqua is innocent but-

"He'll save my brother!" Ruby suddenly said, taking Kana by surprise, her surprise only increased when she glanced at her noticing the hope shining in her eyes. "I know he'll be able to prove his innocence!"

Is she willing to place her trust in this unknown person for her brother's sake?

Well, this is Ruby we're talking about, hope's the last thing she'd lose...

"I believe in you, detective boy! I know you'll do it! Right, Senpai!?" Ruby turned to see Kana, seeing eye to eye that determination.

Kana lost her words for a moment… How can she trust him? Just because one person who knows him personally said so? How can she trust Aqua's safety to a random person she'd never met before?

Well is not like she has many options now does she?

"Aqua is innocent!" Ka finally said, clenching her fists "... I know he wouldn't want to hurt anyone! Not willingly at least… So… Please do your job!"

Hajime blinked a couple of times, unsure how to answer, especially because of the odd nickname she gave him. "I have a name… It's Hajime. But thanks for the bow of trust, I guess…" He scratched the back of his head, unsure how to feel here.

"I believe in you! So, please! Prove his innocence!" Ruby repeated it, her pink eyes meeting his yellowish-green eyes.

It was Hajime's turn to be lost of words now, rubbing his neck a little, a clear hint of being nervous now, as if he wasn't nervous enough already!

But, that girl is putting her entire faith in him, believing he'll save her brother from a prison sentence... He had no response, both stared at each other before Hajime offered a reassuring smile accompanied by a small nod. Ruby's eyes perked at the gesture, it certainly succeded as Ruby could feel calmer now completely sure that this boy would success...!

"I guess I have expectations to meet now… I can't fail here," Hajime said to himself, returning to walk to the crime scene, though Aqua did hear him.

"...Why do you sound so unsure? It's not giving me any trust if you're my only option to escape and be free of this mess"

"I'm not unsure… I'm just not used to the high expectations, I guess" He admitted, rubbing his own shoulder a little. "Doesn't matter, c'mon… We need to get to the crime scene"

"..."

Well if this is the detective he's supposed to trust his safety in this situation… Well, he can only hope he can back up his words.

The girls saw them leaving, but even if they had some hope now, they were still afraid of the worst-case scenario.

"C'mon, girls. Let them do their job, and let's just hope for the best…" Mem said, placing a hand on each girl's shoulder to reassure them.

As they were about to leave, Kana noticed the presence of Sayaka,

She seemed confident…

"Do we have your word? That he's someone capable? Aqua's gonna be fine… Right?" Kana couldn't help but ask. Sayaka tilted her head with curiosity, but she ended up smiling.

"...You're Arima Kana, right? Don't worry Arima-chan, Hinata can be a little dumb at times or very dense, but he's a very capable person! He's intelligent when he needs to be, and can get the work done!" Sayaka walked closer to her.

"And he's a pupil of the best agency in the country! He's been working with only the best of the best, with two other juniors with excellent strategies and plans, I'm sure Hinata has come to learn much from them!... Have faith in him, he'll get your friend out of this mess before you know it!" And she finishes saying this with a wink.

Faith huh? Now that's going to be hard… Is not like having faith has taking her anywhere hasn't it? But it seems like she truly has not other choice.

"...You better come back, you stupid Aqua"

With one final glance to the hallway they headed to, now empty, the girls finally returned to the line This time around, they were accompanied by Sayaka Maizono, who decided to stick with them for the time being.

Now it's up to this rookie detective to prove Aqua's innocence—or fail miserably and fail everyone in the process.

No pressure, right?
