This remake of a supposed new and improved reboot, or de-boot if you want to be harsh, kicks off with an opening credits cinematic just like the original Modern Warfare 2. With scenes and dialogue from the Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) Remake.

3 YEARS LATER
July 15th, 2022 - 15:58:03, Iranian Plateau, Dasht-Kavir, Iran, Captain John 'Soap' MacTavish leads a joint S.A.S./Shadow Company fireteam for a BDA (Battle Damage Assessment) mission on the part of the altiplano overlooking the desert. Going with him are his Hotel Team squadmates: Lieutenant Simon 'Ghost' Riley (Samuel Roukin) and Staff Sergeant Gary 'Roach' Sanderson (Sergeant Gary 'Roach' Sanderson in the original) (voiced and played by the VA I gave him in the original remake series: Richard Madden), and Shadow Company's best team which consists of Commander Philip Graves (Warren Kole), the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Shadow Company, Sergeant Major of Shadow Company Marcel Dipaolo (just "Sergeant Dipaolo" in the original) (K.I.A. in the original), Chief Warrant Officer 5 Denholm 'Denny' Vance (just "Vance" in the original) (K.I.A. in the original) and Lieutenant Commander Finn Erikson (just "Erikson" in the original) (K.I.A. in the original), the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of Shadow Company.
Maintaining ISR for the operation are Special Agent Kate Laswell and General Herschel 'Gold Eagle' Shepherd (Glenn Morshower) (still a big believer in second chances). And conducting the fire mission is Aegis Defence Services, a British private military and private security company.
Its asset on the ground is its best unit, which is filled with former British special forces operators and intelligence agents who are fond of stealing military grade, exotic weapons from other nations. One of them, which is currently in use at the moment, is an RT-2PM2 Topol-M, a Russian mobile ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) launcher.
Handling that heavy, repainted, rebranded piece of hardware is Crown Team's (Aegis Defence Services' best team) leader: Claire Halsey-Brixton (voiced and played by Laura Haddock), an ex-MI6 Internal Affairs Director turned PMC (private military company) field commander. The objectives of this massive JTF are to crash an arms deal between the Ultranationalist Inner Circle and Iran and assassinate Junior Lieutenant Hadir Karim, who will be the one meeting the Iranian government officials.
IRAN
Graves: Gold Eagle, Shadow Team 1 is weapons hot. We're burning daylight here, over.
Shepherd: Roger, Shadow 1. Standby, over. Watcher, do we have confirmation, over?
Laswell: Watcher to Crown 1, gimme a SITREP, over.
Halsey-Brixton: Crown Team 1 and our prized arrow are in position and awaiting coordinates, over.
Laswell: Understood. Hotel Team, you in position?
Ghost: Nearly there.

Soap: Hadir.
Shepherd: Right on time. Now get up there, and let's see what he's got for Iran in the middle of nowhere.
Ghost: We're eyes on.
Laswell: What do you see?
Soap: Ghost, Roach, that's us.
Vance: Covering. Go.
Roach: Iranian Army troops and government officials in the open with Russian hardware. Weapons, kits, vehicles, the whole nine, over.
Shepherd: So it is an arms deal after all.
Laswell: We need positive ID on Kilo 2 before we kick this off, team.
Roach: Roger. Standby, over.
Ghost: Russians and Iranians look very happy to see each other.
Shepherd: It'll be the last time they do.
Roach: Hmm. Sirs, do you have eyes on Hadir?
Soap: X-Ray's got nothing in any of the vehicles.
Ghost: Negative on Hadir on my end. You?
Roach: (off comms) Me neither. (on comms) Hotel 8 to all stations, Kilo 2 unsighted. I say again, Kilo 2 is unsighted, over.
Laswell: Our intel's solid. He should be here.
Shepherd: Unless someone or something spooked him.
Laswell: Still, we can't leave empty-handed. Crown 1, you are cleared for launch.
Halsey-Brixton: Roger that, Watcher. Hotel, Shadow, you are danger close to the zone. This arrow's gonna hit hard.
Soap: Roger, Crown 1. We're hunkered down now. Sending coordinates.
Halsey-Brixton: Ready to receive.
After getting the strike coordinates from Soap, Halsey-Brixton launches her Topol-M all the way from the Iraqi side of the Zagros Mountains and crashes the party. Obliterating everyone and everything Russian Ultranationalist and Iranian.
[explosions]
Ghost: Bloody fucking hell.
Soap: Direct. Target destroyed.
Laswell: Hotel 6, Shadow 1, we need an on-site BDA and confirmation of Kilo 2's termination. Get down there. Crown Team 1 is en route for extraction once the job is done, over.
Soap: (on comms) Roger that, Watcher. Hotels and Shadows are roping down now, over. (off comms) I'll stay here and keep an eye out. Ghost, Roach, Shadows, see what's down there.
Ghost: Ready ropes.
Graves: You heard the man, Shadows. Let's get down there.
Shadow Team 1: Yep, yep.
[CH-47s fly by]
Soap: Iranian troop transports coming in hot and unloading fast. Must be an IRF (Immediate Reaction Force). We can't risk our extraction team, so clear 'em out first.
Roach: Interesting. Cleaning up the additional mess quietly isn't going to be easy. But then again, neither is introducing ourselves with guns blazing. Your call, Ghost.
Graves: Agreed. Whatever your strategy is, we'll be right behind you.
Ghost: Roger. Decisions.
Just a little gameplay improvement because I am a stickler for minute details, if the player chooses to go loud, he/she will fight the 30-man Iranian 65th Airborne Special Forces Brigade rescue team and their two Boeing CH-47 Chinook transport helicopters. But if the player engages quietly, he/she will just have to deal with the hostile operators as close air support will not be called post-haste.
Hotel Team and Shadow Team 1 secures what is left of the arms deal spot stealthily.

Graves: Alright, team. Spread out, check every corpse inside and out, and leave no stone unturned. I want our kills triple-checked.
Dipaolo: Russians. Iranians. No Afghan Ultranationalist named Junior Lieutenant Hadir Karim over here.
Ghost: North side's a dry hole.
Vance: West side's got no Kilo 2 as well.
Roach: East and south don't have Hadir. Perhaps our intel really is off.
Soap: Copy all. Watcher, Gold Eagle, this is Hotel 6. All Russian hardware is destroyed, but Kilo 2 is still unsighted. We checked every body we can find down here, over.
Laswell: *sighs* Roger that, Hotel 6. Hold what you got and prepare for exfil. We're outta here, over.
Shepherd: Best to assume Hadir is in the wind expecting this and planning his next move.
Laswell: Agreed. I'll keep looking.
[Quad TiltRotors fly by]
Halsey-Brixton: Hotels, Shadows, we have visual and are landing northwest of the meeting area now. Copy, over?
Soap: Copy, we see you. Form up, Hotel.
Graves: Job here is done, Shadows. Let's pack it up.
Crown Team 1 and their Bell Boeing Quad TiltRotor aircraft evacuates Hotel Team and Shadow Team 1 without any problems. At the end of the day, the Russian armaments for Iran have been intercepted and destroyed, but Hadir is still in the wind.
