The next morning, Kim and Jay walk into the bullpen together, feeling a mix of anticipation and amusement. As soon as they step inside, they're greeted with a chorus of smirks and playful comments from their teammates.
Adam is the first to speak up, grinning widely. "Well, well, look who finally decided to join us. How was the snuggle fest?"
Kevin chuckles, giving them a thumbs-up. "Nice to see you two finally admitting what we've all known for ages."
Trudy, leaning against her desk, adds with a wink, "You two make a cute couple."
Kim rolls her eyes but can't help the smile that spreads across her face. "Alright, alright, enough with the teasing. We're here to work."
Jay, trying to keep a straight face, nods. "Yeah, let's get back to business."
Hailey walks over, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Oh, come on, you two. Just admit it already. You're perfect for each other."
Kim sighs, glancing at Jay, who gives her a reassuring smile. "Fine," she says, turning back to the team. "Yes, we're together. Happy now?"
The bullpen erupts in cheers and applause, and Kim can't help but laugh. Jay wraps an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "Thanks for the support, everyone."
Later that evening, Kim and Jay find themselves in Kim's bedroom. Jay is already sitting up in bed, talking about random things and the latest case they were working on. Kim, meanwhile, is pulling off her jeans, listening to him with a smile.
"…and then Kevin said he saw the suspect near the old warehouse, but by the time we got there, he was gone," Jay says, shaking his head in disbelief.
Kim chuckles, folding her jeans neatly and placing them on the chair along with Jay's clothes. "Sounds like a wild day," she comments, walking over to Jay's side of the bed.
She sits down beside him, her expression softening. "You know, Jay, I'm really glad you're here. It's nice to have someone to talk to about all this."
Jay reaches out, taking her hand in his. "I'm glad too, Kim. You've been amazing through all of this."
Kim squeezes his hand gently. "We make a good team, don't we?"
Jay nods, his eyes full of warmth. "Yeah, we do. And not just at work."
Kim smiles, leaning in to kiss him softly. "Get some rest. We've got another busy day tomorrow."
Jay smiles back, pulling her close. "Goodnight, Kim."
"Goodnight, Jay," she whispers, settling in beside him.
