Last time, the kids learned that their mission is not just to rescue their parents. They learned that they must recovered the eight stone crests. The eight stone crests were meant to be the original source of power for the digidestined. Machinedramon attacked a small village as part of his attempt to gain one of the stones and needs the aid of a digimon named Lilamon to get it. The children managed to rescue Lilamon from his clutches, but now they need her help to get the stone crest before Machinedramon can.

Up the Mountain of Mayhem

After rescuing Lilamon from Machinedramon, Musuko pleaded for Lilamon to help them get the next stone crest before the Dark Masters do. Lilamon is the on meant to guard it, so she might be the only one that can help them.

"Okay. I'll do it." Lilamon said as she agreed to help them and they were all glad to hear that. "Your parents are in danger and need to be saved. Children need their parents."

"Thank you." Koji said as they were all glad to hear that she will help them.

"Let's fly to the top of the mountain now and get that stone crest." Mason said.

"No. If we fly, Machinedramon will see us. We'll have to go on foot." Lilamon claimed. At least they can now get the stone.

...

Machinedramon

Machinedramon might have lost Lilamon, but he is still chasing after them. He's tearing right through the forest and is making his way up the mountain. Nothing is going to stop this machine from doing what it's built to do: destruction.

"You can run and hide all you like, children. There is nowhere that is safe for you." Machinedramon claimed as he just opened fired at whatever was in his sight. "I never did like hide and seek."

...

The Digidestined

The kids made their way up the mountain with Lilamon leading the way. As they moved up, they could hear the explosions.

"What is that?" Natalie questioned.

"That has to be Machinedramon." Lilamon said. "Seeing as how he did destroy an entire village, it wouldn't surprise me that he's attacking the mountain itself."

"I'll check it out." Patamon said. He flew up into the air to try and get a better view of what might be happening. When he got high enough, he could see the smoke from the explosions that Machinedramon is causing. Seeing it was truly a horrible sight. "Lilamon is right!" He called as he flew back down. "Machinedramon is attacking the mountain itself."

"Why would he do something like that?" Koji questioned.

"He's looking for us." Gatomon said. "Rather than going the trouble of searching for us, he's decided to lay waste to the entire mountain."

"We've got to keep moving, but we can't let Machinedramon constantly attack the mountain." Benson said. "He'll destroy the whole forest, and all the digimon that live on this mountain. Besides, he might get lucky."

"Machinedramon is a mega. UlforceVeedramon and Seraphimon are the only ones that can take him." Musuko said. "Benson and I will try to divert his attention away from our trail. You guys keep going and we'll meet up with you later."

"Be careful." Natalie said. The two of them hurried off. They need to try and stop a war machine from finding them and their friends.

...

Machinedramon

Machinedramon continued his path of destruction around the mountain. As he did, he looked around for any sign of them.

"Nothing, but there's plenty of mountain to destroy." Machinedramon claimed. As he kept destroying everything, Musuko and Benson caught up to him on UlforceVeedramon and Seraphimon.

"There he is. Now let's scrap this dinosaur-sized tin can." Musuko said.

"Wait. I hate to say it, but we don't have the power to defeat him just yet." Benson said. "What we need is a way to stall him. Stop him from destroying everything."

"And I think I might have one." Seraphimon said as he looked down at the ground and might have something. "UlforceVeedramon, follow my lead." UlforceVeedramon followed his lead with them flying in low.

"Rising Halo!" Seraphimon had divine lightning strike down, but none of it hit Machinedramon. It was hitting the ground around him with it breaking apart. None of his attacks hit Machinedramon, but they did alert him to their presence.

"There you are!" Machinedramon said.

"UlforceVeedramon, grind your sword against the ground!" Seraphimon called. UlforceVeedramon did just that as he unleashed his sword and stuck it into the ground. He grinder his sword against the ground and flew right underneath Machinedramon. Once that happened, the ground underneath him began to break apart.

"What's this?!" Machinedramon questioned the ground he was standing on broke apart and caved in right under him. He fell right through the ground and found himself wedge in the ground. He tried to get out, but wasn't doing so good with his immense weight.

"That should hold him." Benson said.

"Later, you giant hunk of scrap!" Musuko called with them flying off.

"I'll get you!" Machinedramon called.

...

The Digidestined

The sun was beginning to go down, but Musuko and Benson were able to find their friends with it looking like they were setting a camp

"There you are!" Koji said as he was glad to see they were okay. "Did you stop Machinedramon?"

"Yeah, we managed to slow him down." Musuko said. "He's stuck and won't be going anywhere for a while. So, shouldn't we keep moving? Why are we setting up camp?"

"It's not safe to travel through the mountain at night." Lilamon warned. "We'll have to stop here and set up camp for the night. We can continue the rest of the way in the morning. Besides, you are all young children and need rest or you'll stunt your growth and be like zombies."

"Oh no. She's not going to be one of those know-it-alls, is she?" Musuko complained.

"But Machinedramon is still out there. He'll catch up with us soon or could still cause destruction." Benson warned.

"No worries. We can keep guard." Biyomon said. "You guys need to get some rest."

"No worries. Everything is under control." Gatomon assured. They trusted their digimon, and stopping to rest does sound good considering everything they've been through lately. Since it seemed like they were safe, all of them rested. Night fell and all of them felt like they could relax for the first time in a long time.

"I don't like this. We should keep moving. Our parents are being held prisoner, so we need to keep moving." Natalie said.

"Maybe, but you need to be able to rest." Lilamon said. "You won't be able to save anyone if you don't keep your strength up."

"She's right. It's like resting for a big game." Musuko said. We need to keep our strength up so we can beat these guys."

"Good point." Natalie said as they all tried to do just that. Under the mystic night sky, they could almost forget their troubles.

"Being out here like this takes me back." Musuko said as he looked up to the sky and remembered greater times. "I remember when my family went camping up in another mountain. It was a lot of fun."

"I don't remember that." Koji said.

"I guess you were still too young to remember, but I sure do." Musuko said as he looked back at the time. "Uncle Tai and Tyson went with us that day. It was during the summer and Uncle Tai had some free time from whatever it is diplomats do. We all went camping up on a mountain and Uncle Tai let me ride on his shoulders." Looking back at that time when Musuko was younger, he remembered how he felt like he was so high off the ground as he rode on his uncle's strong shoulders while the rest of his family followed. "I felt like I could see the whole world. It was so much fun having them tag along with us. Then, when night came, I got to see the stars with Dad and Uncle Tai while Mom and the digimon watched over Koji and Tyson. It looked a lot like now." Musuko loved seeing that sky when he was younger, loved it more when he saw it with two people he admired a lot.

"Now that you mention it, it feels like this one time I was out with my dad." Natalie claimed. "He and I went to the Digital World one night and had our own camping experience." She claimed as she looked bac on memories herself. "He was able to get this fire going and showed me how to cook fish over it. I thought he looked so cool, and the fire looked amazing. We had a great time together." Looking back, she remembered her own fun experience with her own parent. She always did think she had a cool father.

"I went camping with my dad, but my mom isn't a fan of camping." Mason said. "However, I do remember she and I did do something like camping. It was during this big storm, and we were stuck at her cooking studio." He claimed as he thought back at a time that was suppose to be a dreadful time ended up being a lot of fun. "We spent the whole time looking for whatever we could cook with and come up with new dishes and recipes."

"How is that like camping?" Koji questioned.

"We had to forge our own food." Mason said.

"I don't know if that's anything like camping, but that does have me remember something my dad and I did." Benson claimed. "Dad and I were touring around the amusement park during a family trip and we came across a hot dog eating competition. I couldn't believe how many hot dogs one guy was scarfing down so many." Benson looked back to his own time with his own father. "I asked Dad if he could do something like that. He told me he would have to digivolve into Porkmon first. After that, his Patamon got real mad thinking it was a joke to him and things got hysterical."

"I don't know if that's funny, but now I can't stop thinking about this one time I was out with Uncle Tai." Koji said. "Daddy and I went with him to New York. Since Daddy had a restaurant down there, we got some noodles and we were able to eat at the top of the Vampire State Building."

"Vampire?" Mason questioned.

"I think he means the Empire State Building." Natalie corrected.

"Uncle Tai did show me this great view of the entire city." Koji said as he could remember his own fun time of one of the greatest cities in America. "It helped me see why people think New York is amazing." They all were having a good time with their memories, but the mood quickly turned depressing and made them miss their parents even more. "Guys, I really miss them." Musuko held an arm around him to comfort him. Each one of them missed their parents so much that Mason and Koji was on the verge of tears.

"You all clearly love your parents deeply with so maybe great memories." Lilamon said.

"That's why we'll get them back no matter what." Musuko said as he was holding up strong for the others. They'll rescue their parents and take the Dark Masters down.

...

Later

The kids and Lilamon were able to get some sleep while the digimon continued to keep guard. It seemed like it was going to be a peaceful night, but that didn't last. Gatomon soon became alerted as she could hear something.

"Something is coming! I think it might be Machinedramon!" Gatomon called as she alerted the others.

"Are you sure? I don't hear anything." Mason said. He didn't need to. They could see a powerful blast right over their heads. That was when they saw Machinedramon trying to force his way through the trees to get to them.

"How did he manage to get out of that trench we made?" Veemon said.

"I'm not sure, but we better get out of here." Gatomon said with all of them hurrying out of there.

"You can't run from me forever!" Machinedramon called. Machinedramon continues to chase after them. The kids might have had a moment to rest, but it's over now.

...

The Next Day

The kids had to continue on with their hike. They kept making their way up the mountain despite Machinedramon being on their tails. They soon reached the top...

"Wait." Lilamon said as she had them stopped. She looked ahead and noticed a door engraved into the cave wall. "We're here. What we're looking for is just behind that door." The stone crest is just within their reach, but what else is behind the door?

...

As soon as the children find the stone crest, a surprise was waiting for them. To get the stone crest, they need Lilamon's help.
