Anne was bored. Scared, yes. Slightly traumatised? Absolutely. But she was bored out of her mind.
Three days had passed since they had arrived back to earth and been kept in lockdown, and frankly, she couldn't take it anymore. She loved the plantars, she really did, but they were exhausting to stay inside with for days on end. Sprig had already nearly destroyed her phone and polly was clearly gonna snap if she didnt get someone new to argue with.
"Ugh, mom, pleaseeeee?"
"No, anne. It's too dangerous. You stay with old frog and the kids."
Anne grumbled. "Okay," she said. Not while you're awake, she silently thought to herself.
That night, she crept out of the house. It was only a short walk, she told herself. And she made sure to stay true to that. There was a point when she realised she'd nearly been out for an hour! Oh crud! Better get back quick, she thought. Reluctantly she decided to enter a back alley to take a shortcut.
*meanwhile, in amphibia*…
"Your highness?"
"Yes, triple B?"
"Well, we have discovered something about the box. The blue gem seems to be only half charged."
"Well of course i knew that," grumbled andrias, "the darn girl has superpowers."
"Well this has a small side effect in the fact that every time you open a portal, a minute portal will open up somewhere random in the multiverse for about 15 seconds."
"Ah, well," said andrias, "for now, that shouldn't be a problem, should it? Not like anything could fit through anyway."
Anne was thinking.
Thinking about sasha. Even after all that had happened in amphibia between them, they had united against a common enemy in their last few minutes together.
"I am DONE with being your friend!"
Now she was having second thoughts.
And then a glow. "…what…?" Anne thought. Has andrias caught up to me? I mean, he has the music box, she thought.
…but the small portal just stayed there, not growing.
And out popped a little spider.
"…what?" Anne had about 1.5 seconds of thought before the spider suddenly jumped on her, bit her, and jumped back through before the portal closed.
"Ouch!" She said in a whisper. Better get back really quick.
As she got closer to her house, she was feeling ever groggier. "Was that spider venomous? Jeez, i need to sleep."
As she entered the house, she quietly turned on the light… to see her parents just standing there. "Well, well, well." Ms boonchuy stood there, clearly pretty pissed. "Whatever happened to lockdown?"
Anne had a multitude of emotions right now. Angry, but also guilty, sad, scared. But boy she was tired.
Anne fell to the floor.
