I'm not the only one with this problem. Many other Users have this problem too.
So that's why I want to tell you something first.
For now this will be the last chapter until the site is fixed.
If it will be fixed this month I will post more chapters.
But for now not.
Don't worry this doesn't mean I won't post anymore chapter.
I will post more and propobably will post more stories of mine on Archieve on our Own.

"Are you really sure?" "Believe me, that's the only option I have right now." Alicia and the others were out and about in Inkwell City. More specifically, in the harbor area where many ships were anchored at the dock. From small crew ships to large passenger ships, there was everything a port had to offer.
Why the group was here? Well, Blood had read a newspaper report a few days ago about a sailor who had supposedly found the location of a treasure map that could show any treasure the owner wanted to obtain. This treasure map was considered lost for a very long time and was called a legend, but the person who was interviewed in the newspaper contradicted this.
However, Alicia was skeptical about this and had the uneasy feeling that the devil would be behind it. It wouldn't be the first time. That's why she went along with Blood. And so that Varian was not alone with the cups, the four also came along who had nothing against it. Actually, the three cups were very happy because Cuphead had something planned for himself, his brother and Cuppy.
"What're we doing at the dock?" asked Mugman with his mouth full while biting into his caramelized apple on of the sailors had given him before the group walked on to the docks. "Oh, you'll see," said Blood walking up ahead. Alicai followed him and looked around several times. She wanted to make sure that the devil was not lurking around. Thereby she almost ran into a an anthropomorphic lobster was repairing a hole in the ship.
"Sorry," Alicia apologized to the Hummer she almost ran into. He accepted her apology and took no offense before continuing to work. Another sailor this time an anthropomorphic dog was pulling on a rope to lift a barrel up onto the ship. "Tell me, Mugsy and Cuppy, you two ever wish you were a pirate?" Cuphead asked both of them as they dodged crates the staff threw at them and climbed over a dead shark.
Blood heard it and just shook his head. Varian thought nothing of it. In his world there were also pirates, but they were very dangerous with their laser equipment and pistols. "You know very well that I do," anwsered the young mug. "Would be interesting why the question Cuphead?" asked Cuppy.
"Well, all your swashbuckling dreams are about to come true, 'cause we're gonna have a high seas adventure!" "Dream on, my friend" Blood interrupted him, looking at Cuphead and the other two cups who were staring at him in confusion. "Oh no we won't!" Alicia adde confusing the three cups even more. "We're not going on any ships Cuphead. Besides, we're here for something else already forgotten?" Alicia explained but Cuphead was almost climbing up the rope ladder when suddenly.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Everyone was confused when an unknown voice sounded that seemed to be very close. However, no one saw where the voice was coming from until the group noticed a shadow and looked out onto the deck from where someone was looking down at the dock.
A young female anthropomorphic lop-eared rabbit with a lithe build and is the same height as Alicia. She is covered in very light silver-grey fur while her underbelly up to her muzzle is white as well as the underside of her feet. She a small pink nose while her inner ears are a pale and lighter shade and light aqua green eyes. The fur on her forehead resembles a tuft of hair while her ears fall over her back as they're hair. She wears an opened black vest jacket over a sleeveless white blouse and dark blue-black pants that reaches over her knees, leaving her feet bared. Around her waist, she wears a brown belt that carries a miniature satchel over the right side of her hip and a small scabbard carrying a dagger over the left side. She has a purple bandana tied over her head like Brineybeard's, and a golden hoop earring pierced in her left ear. On her right arm, she wears a long dark blue fingerless glove and a brown glove on her left hand as well as a purple armband on her left upper arm. Around her neck, she carries a golden oval shaped locket with a raindrop shaped aquamarine embedded in the front.
She looked down at the group and waited for an answer while Cuphead was still hanging on the rope ladder and didn't know what to say.
"You know it's a crime to trespass on a ship," the rabbit explained, looking explicitly at Cuphead, who slowly climbed down, swallowing nervously, and hid under Blood's cape. "So what do you want?" was an easy question for Alicia to answer. "We're looking for a sailor who supposedly found a clue to a mysterious treasure map here that could be very useful to us.".
It was quiet at first until the rabbit looked at the group again, taking a closer look at Blood and Alicia, and asked "Wait aren't you that wizard wolf?" Blood nodded. "And you. You're that girl" Alicia didn't know if this was positive or negative but she just nodded and hoped for something positive.
"Then you must be Blood and Alicia!" shouted the rabbit who jumped off the ship and was now standing right in front of them. Blood and Alicia looked at each other in confusion while Varian and the cups didn't know what to say. The wolf and the young adult only nodded before the rabbit squealed with delight like a little child. "Oh boy I've been waiting for your arrival" Really? Are we some kind of superstars? Alicia wondered as she looked around to see if the other sailors were looking at them. The rabbit wasn't exactly quiet when she said that.
However, no one seemed to look at them, which relieved Alicia, who already had enough on her plate. "Come to the ship and you'll meet the captain and where the treasure map is that you're looking for," the rabbit allowed them and like greased lightning Cuphead climbed up the rope ladder while the others followed him.
Once on the deck, Alicia looked around. It was not really full but rather empty. Next to the door that apparently led to the captain's cabin, there was another door that led to the lower deck, the stairs to the wheel and that was it. However, the three cups were not bored by this. Quite the opposite.
"Hey Alicia look what I have here!" she turned to Cuphead who was holding two heavy swords in his hands that crashed on the floor due to her weight. That he couldn't hold the swords with his noodle arms was obvious. "Cuphead let go of the swords we are not here to fool around!" "Yes, we are here because we are looking for something," Varian added.
However, as before, the cup did not seem to listen to her and gave one of the swords to his brother who also could not hold it in the air because it was much too heavy for him. However, the two were very pleased about it and were just about to play with the swords when both were suddenly lifted by someone.
It was Alicia who held them tightly and looked at them grimly. They both knew that Alicia was demanding an answer from them, which is why they ignored her and Varian's request, even though they knew why they were here.
"Sorry Ali" "Yes, we're sorry" both brothers apologized to her. But before she let them down, Alicia looked with them at Varian and the bunny lady, who also demanded an apology. Of course, the two brothers also apologized to them before Alicia set them both down on the deck and turned her attention to the others.
"So where is the treasure map?" asked Blood, who wanted to know where it might be. "Well I don't know exactly but the captain would know" Okay and who is the captain? wondered Alicia who for some reason was having a dejavuu. The ship she and the others were on looked familiar. Don't tell me the ship belongs to Captain Brineybeard.
She knew the captain from the book and got on well with him although he liked her brother John more because he had been very interested in pirates as a child. However, she didn't know what the Captain was like in this world. He could be friendly or the complete opposite of his book counterpart.
"The captain should still be sleeping in his cabin, but don't worry, as long as nothing happens like we accidentally hit the high seas, everything will be fine." The irony was literally palpable when Alicia realized that the two brothers were no longer beside her and the others and the ship was moving up and down in the swell. Almost as if we were-. Alicia, Varian, Blood and the bunny lady looked around when they noticed the movement, saw no other ships and realized they were on the open sea.
"Oh no! We're out at sea" The last word echoed through the open seaand could be heard from the crow's nest to which Alicia and the others were looking. The three missing cups were there. How did they even get up there? Alicia asked herself, shaking her head and scratching her nose with her fingers. Blood just shook his head while Varian tilted his head. Only the rabbit lady seemed less than pleased.
"I'm not a real pirate. I'm a fake pirate" said Mugman and clung to Cuppy. Cuppy was not really pleased by this either. Not because Mugman clung to him but because he didn't want to be out on the open sea. But because of Cuphead's interaction with the sword, they are now on the open sea. Cuphead, on the other hand, was, and he was happy. "Now this is a high seas adventure!". Before Alicia or the others could do anything. Cuphead called some words out of the crow's nest.
"Anchors awaigh! Hard to starboard! Ready the gangplank!" the group heard down on the deck. "Cuphead get down from there before-" the ship rocked hard back and forth as it rode huge waves. Alicia threatened to topple over, Blood wouldn't have held her. Cuphead, Mugman and Cuppy on the other hand couldn't hold on and flew out of the crow's nest.
They threatened to fall into the sea if the rabbit had not saved them. The ship stopped rocking and the three cups were a little woozy from rocking back and forth. Alicia and Varian were fine but Blood hit his head when he catches Alicia. Suddenly they heard a yawn coming from the cabin door. The rabbit lady landed next to Alicia with the three cups in her arms. "Oh great you woke up the captain" she said as the footsteps are coming closer.
Alicia was ready to meet the captain. She knew who it was. But she still had a bad feeling.
Mugman hid behind her while Cuppy and Cuphead stood beside her. The former was just as ready as Alicia. But what the two were not ready for was to meet an old acquaintance. She swallowed nervously as the door opened and Captain Brineybeard stood before her. She looked grim. As if he had just been woken from a sleep. Well, that's what happened. He was woken up by the cups.
He looked very similar to his book counterpart only the brims on his shirt are the same color as the rest of his shirt. And instead of two peg legs, he had brown boots on. With Captain Brineybeard or Briney or Captain B. as she and John always called him in the book when they were younger, she always had a good contact. That was more or less because he was one of the few debtors who volunteered to babysit Alicia and John when their parents were out on a date.
He always liked to take the two of them on a treasure hunt and therefore always called Alicia and John "his crew". Of course, they were also members of his pirate gang. There he showed them everything you needed to know about Ships and the ocean. From all the rope knots like the sailor's knot to capsizing. But there was one thing Alicia remembered clearly. He had taken her out to sea to meet Cala Maria. Of course, John wanted to prove that he was not a coward and to face the "sea monster".
But as soon as Cala Maria appeared in front of the ship, he hid behind Alicia, who just giggled. She knew that Captain Brineybeard's ship had a life of its own and that he could summon both seals, squid and shark. But she didn't know that he had a green parrot. It flew past him until Brineybeard grabbed and put it on his shoulder.
He walked along the deck and passed a barrel where a cup with the inscription #1 Captain on it was standing next to Cuphead and Cuppy. All three looked after him and didn't know what to say. Actually, there was nothing to say because as soon as the captain had walked past them, he grabbed Cuppy's head and used it as a coffee cup. A bit strange when you consider that he was actually a cup but with a humanoid body.
Next to a barrel leaned an open bag full of cocoa beans into which the captain reached with his other hand. With the cocoa beans in his hand, he squeezed them over Cuppy's head and the juice fell into his head, changing the white liquid to brown. This also caused Cuppy's eyes to turn brown.
The captain, however, didn't mind as he assumed he was drinking from his own cup.
"What's new Hali Seafare? Why are we on the open sea?" Captain Brineybeard asked the rabbit with a deep voice. "Sir I believe this question can explain our visitors to you" Hali turns to the side as she stops saluting, giving the Captain a view of Alicia and the others. Brineybeard looked at all of them and realized that one of the visitors was headless. However, this didn't bother him because when he saw Alicia his pupils turned into hearts.
He dropped Cuppy's head, which was threatening to fall to the ground. However, his headless body was able to catch him in time before this happened and placed his head on his body while he exhaled in relief. "Yargh! What a beauty it is to see such a beautiful young maiden like you here on me ship," Alicia heard as the captain stood next to her and held her hand. She was confused and felt like Nami from One Piece or Nurse Joy from the Pokemon anime.
"Uh..." Alicia didn't know what to say, let alone if she should say anything at all. After all, she was already taken and besides, it felt strange when Brineybeard flirted with her. "Please tell me yer name so that I may emblazon it upon me heart" the captain said and knelt at her feet before Hali pinched his ear and pulled him away from her like Misty usually did in the Pokemon anime when Brock flirted with women.
"Okay captain time out we don't flirt with women!" she said while Brineybeard just yelled in pain. "Especially not if they are among our guests!" Only now did he notice the others next to Alicia and remembered. He had arranged to meet someone about the treasure map. And that someone was Blood, who was running towards the captain. The wolf was a head taller than the captain, who was only a head taller than Alicia and Hali.
"Ah you must be the wizard wolf" Blood nodded as he helped the captain up who was about to say something until he realized that there was something stuck to both his legs. It was Cuphead and Mugman.
"You can take us on a high seas adventure!" Cuphead said with joy. But Mugman was not really pleased. "Adventure? We're going home!" he said. Both then began to argue, saying "Adventure!" and "Home!" over and over again. The captain rolled his eyes annoyed and grabbed both of them by the collar while they continued to argue. Varian saw the two pocket knives the captain had pulled out and suspected something worse. "Wait! I'll gladly take them from you," before Brineybeard could say anything, the fox took the two cups from his hand and walked over to Alicia with them, grinning nervously.
For good reason, because Alicia and Blood didn't look very pleased at each other and were rather annoyed. "Sorry" they both said, but Alicia didn't feel like saying anything and kept quiet.
"Stop squawking and start sniffing!" interrupted Brineybeard the two cups hiding behind Alicia. The group did and smelled different things. The captain suddenly reappeared next to Alicia and looked at her seductively. "Smell that?" he asked her, which irritated Alicia a bit. He blinked his eyes, which made her very irritated. However, Hali gave him a sign with her hand that he shouldn't overdo it with the flirting or he would feel pain in his ear again. Does he mean the salt smell of the sea or his body smell? she didn't know what to say so the three cups helped her out. "Fear?", "Fish guts?", "Rum?".
"No!" said the captain as he looked to the three cups "That be the pungent aroma-", "Here it comes" said Hali who was standing next to Alicia just in case he tries to do something again. "Of love" said the Captain holding both his hands on the place where his heart was. "Love?" the three cups asked confused. "Soon I shall reunite with me girlfriend, and this time it'll be forever!" From his pocket, Captain Brinesbeard took out a large heart-shaped box.
"That's all well and good, but how is a box of chocolates supposed to help us find the treasure map?" Blood asked curiously, while Mugman first wanted to ask what was in the box. However, the wolf didn't get an answer as the captain started singing for whatever reason.

The parrot landed on Hali's shoulder and sang along before flying away and landing on a pole.

The captain walked over to the group who were still staring at him in confusion while Cuppy didn't know exactly what was going on.
With treats!"
The parrot appeared next to him, which scared Cuppy a bit, so he joined Alicia and Hali and kept his distance from the singing captain. The latter walked towards the steering wheel while continuing to sing.

He turned it as he looked at his compass, which also turned until the pointer pointed to a heart where the N for north should be. Well, the compass of Jack Sparrow does not point to the north but to what you want most. But Alicia didn't think about it but was rather worried when she looked at the open sea and the islands were just a dot on the horizon.
Yes, she wanted to turn back .Not because of the captain, but because she had a bad feeling. That's why she distanced herself from the group and looked into the distance at the Inkwell Isle's, which became smaller and smaller until even the tallest building in the city was no longer visible. "You want to go back, don't you?" a voice asked her. Alicia turned around and saw Hali standing next to her, looking out at the sea as Alicia did. "I'm not a big fan of sea adventures," Alicia said and leaned her head on the reiling.
She sighed sadly and felt homesick for the very first time. You would think that the move to university would be the first time she felt something like this. But that wasn't the case. Alicia felt nothing of the sort.
Hali was about to say something when the two heard the captain say "No, I ain't!" followed by a crash. "And again a barrel is destroyed" said Hali slightly annoyed. Alicia had to smile "Tell me, how do you know the captain?" Alicia asked. Hali turned to her. "Normally I don't tell this to anyone but I trust you" said Hali as she told Alicia her past.
10 Years earlier
On an island far away from the Inkwell Isle's, young Hali Seafare grew up as the only child of Kaia and Caspian Seafare. Both are anthropomorphic rabbits with Kaia being a lop-eared rabbit who bares a strong resemblance to her daughter, only her fur is a light flaxen blond colour, a small pink nose, pink inner ears and light aqua green eyes. She wears a dress consisting of a white blouse with long sleeves, a royal purple bodice and a soft lilac also wears a lilac ribbon with a royal purple rose brooch in the centre over her left ear. And Caspian being an anthropomorphic rabbit covered with silver-grey fur while his underbelly is white up to his muzzle as well as the toes and underside of his feet (just like his daughter). His nose and inner ears are a mildly deeper shade of pink, has a tuft of fur on his forehead and has ocean blue eyes. He wears an off-white coloured shirt beneath an opened brown vest jacket, dark brown pants and a black belt with a mini tire satchel that he always carries his old compass around and close.
Caspian was known on the island as a great high-sea explorer. His adventures told from his travels fascinated not only the adults but also the children. Especially Hali who would like to follow in her father's footsteps. But most of them told her that these tasks are more for men than for little dolls like her. Of course, the young Hali was different from all other girls her age. Instead of dresses she wore a pale blue blouse, a midnight blue waistcoat and long black trousers as well as the locket her mother gave her. On her tenth birthday, her father gave her his old Compass. Of course she was very happy about it and could hardly wait to sail with him one day. But unfortunately, a year later, a terrible event occurred. The bells rang an alarm that woke Hali up. She immediately ran to her parents who, like the rest of the inhabitants of the island, sought shelter in the community center.
No one knew why they fled until a huge monstrous figure appeared from the water at the harbor where Caspian's ship was anchored. The creature roared and went without hesitation ashore to grab the fleeing inhabitants. One after the other was grabbed by the beast and ended up as food for the sea monster. "Kaia grab our daughter and flee as fast as you can!" those were the last words of Caspian heard from Hali before he lunged at the beast with his sword raised.
Unfortunately, he did not survive. Kaia did what Caspian asked her to do and fled, but the monster saw them and chased after them. Kaia knew she couldn't go any further with Hali in her arms, so she did something she never wanted to do. In a house that was partially destroyed, she grabbed her daughter hiding in a box full of carrots which she covered with a blanket before attracting the monster's attention and fleeing.
It was the next day when a member of Caspian's crew found her and gave Hali the terrible news that both her parents had died and she was now an orphan. She was sent to the orphanage where she escaped after a while to fulfill her dream. So she packed everything necessary and went to the harbor at night where she climbed on a ship. She thought she was alone but when she saw a shadow surrounding her she was greeted by a friendly bearded man. "Well look who's hopping on me ship?" a young parrot landed on his shoulder "Sqwark who's hopping on me ship?" he said. Hali had to giggle when she heard the parrot imitating the man. "Hey stop imitating me!" said the man when he heard the young rabbit laughing.
He had to laugh as well. "Yes Squawrky here is a little jokster" said the man as he stroked the young parrot. "Yes a jokster sqwark!". But the man wanted to know what Hali was doing on his ship. She seemed to have a reason for it. "So tell me little one, what are you doing on my ship?" he asked her, kneeling down to be at the same eye level as Hali. She stopped laughing and was sad again. The man saw it and put her on his lap "Come on, you can tell Captain Brineybeard everything, I won't say anything else, I promise" he said and made a gesture with his mouth as if he was sealing his lips with a zipper.
Hali wiped away the tear and began to tell him the story of the loss of her parents and that she wanted to be like her father. "Caspian, yes, I knew him," said Brineybeard. "Really?" asked Hali. "Yes, he and I were friends from childhood," Hali was, very pleased. She didn't have to cry anymore either. "I heard about the sea monster and I was very shocked when I heard it, so I came to visit the grave of your parents and well, you" he said. "But it looks like you found me before I could find you Hali Seafare," the Captian said, hugging her tightly.
"Does that mean you want to take me back to the orphanage?" Hali asked him. "Is that what you want?" he asked her, but Hali shook her head. She didn't want to go back to the orphanage. "Well then, welcome to your new home Hali Seafare, first mate of the Brineybeard gang!" he said and took her and her things to the captain's cabin where she and he slept for the night.
And from that moment on Hali grew up with Captain Brineybeard who raised her as his own daughter and taught her everything she needed to know about seafaring. And as the years went by, Hali grew up to be a strong, self-confident woman who doesn't let anyone tell her what to do. "I would have apologized to her if I were you," Brineybeard said as he drank his rum and watched Hali beat up a drunken bar patron who had called her doll before.
Yes the captain liked Hali and protected her with his life. But one day the two sailed into unknown waters and were surrounded by shipwrecks. "Captain I think we should turn back" Squawrky landed on her shoulder and agreed with her "Sqwark yes we should turn back!" he said. The captain also agreed and turned the ship around when suddenly a huge shadow appeared behind them.
"From then on, the captain had fallen in love with a sea beast" Hali said as she also leaned against the railing like Alicia. "And this sea beast is the same one that killed your parents?". Hali shook her head, "The sea beast that killed my parents resembled a leviathan, I remember that," she said, showing Alicia her sword, which had a dragon's head at the end of the hilt and the beginning of the edge.
"This sword was bequeathed to me by my father" she returned it to its sheath "And with this sword I will kill the monster and avenge my parents" she said. Alicia swallowed nervously. Hali heard it and looked at Alicia in confusion. Damn it! What Hali didn't know was that Alicia had the ability to turn into a leviathan. Well, not yet, but the drawing from the chest that Cala had shown Maria from the book showed her as a Leviathan. And she was not exactly small. Briney's ship was just as big as her nose as a Leviathan.
So, should Alicia transform into her Leviathan form in front of Hali's eyes, she might try to kill her instead. But that was not the only thing that worried her.
As she and Hali looked out to sea, they both noticed that the sky was getting darker and darker. The sea was also getting wilder and wilder and the fish were getting fewer and fewer. It was as if they were sailing somewhere they shouldn't be."Okay, a lot of shipwrecks," Alicia said as they passed through a many ship's racks. One was a huge one that belonged to a huge ship. At least Alicia hoped so, as Brineybeard's ship was quite small when it passed through the skeleton that remained of that ship.
"Yep a lot of shipwrecks but that's not the worse" Hali said as she pointed to something in the distance. It was a cove they were heading towards that resembled a skull. Don't tell me we are visiting Cala Maria. But her eyes wandered to something else as she looked at a shipwreck and saw someone standing on it that they were passing. "Wait, there's someone standing there who could use our help!" said Alicia as Hali laughed.
For a good reason, Alicia just felt like Mr. Fredricksen from the movie Up when he and Russel first met Dug mistaking a stone statue for a living person. The person she saw on the ship was no longer alive. He turned into a stone statue. "Those used to be living pirates," Hali said as she tapped Alicia on the shoulder. "What happened?" Alicia asked nervous.
She already suspected the answer to her question "Well, when you fall in love with a sea beast, many forget an important detail that makes a sea beast special." Alicia knew that Cala Maria in the book could turn anyone to stone if she wanted to.
But most of them could get out of it because she used this ability only to escape from problems or to prevent problems like she tried to do with Lucifer when she petrified him for a short time after Cala Maria "kidnapped" her. "And that doesn't deter the captain?" Hali shook her head. "Nope, he's fearless about such things,". "And that usually leads to most of them getting themselves into trouble" Alicia muttered as she looked annoyed. They don't get home that fast without ending up as food for a sea beast.
Alicia already feared this. But then she got that uneasy feeling in her stomach again. She didn't feel sick, she wasn't seasick or anything like that. But Alicia sensed that something bad was about to happen to her. Hali realized that Alicia had a bad feeling.
"Hey, is everything okay?" she asked Alicia, but Alicia was anything but okay. Her heart was racing with fear, tears of sweat were running down her forehead and her pupils were shrinking. She was about to have a panic attack.
Hali noticed and thought about what could help Alicia. She would need a distraction, that makes sense. "Hey, you haven't told me where you're from yet," Alicia looked at Hali with a puzzled expression and seemed to slowly calm down again. Her breathing calmed down again while her heart beat normally and the sweat slowly disappeared.
"I come from the real world and yes, everyone looks like me," explained Alicia Hali. The bunny realized that Alicia looked different from her and was not cartoon-like. "And do you have animals in your world?" Alicia nodded to this question. "Yes, only they can't talk and don't walk like humans." Hali was a little confused about this. She looked to herself and couldn't figure out how to move on four legs. Not to mention what it would be like not to talk to another one like she does with Alicia right now. Confused she looked to Brineybeard's parrot sitting on her shoulder, giving her a shrug.
Suddenly the ship stopped, which confused the two woman and the parrot. Squawrky squawked as he said "Certain death. Certain death!" before he flew off, worried Alicia even more. Yes Alicia had a bad feeling and that didn't change when she heard Mugman.
"Look!" shouted the young mug pointing to the water, The others looked at the water and saw bubbles rising up. A sign that something was coming out of the water. "That means she's close!" Brineybeard said as he stared into the water. Alicia and Hali ran over to the others and asked confusedly what was going on. "See for yourself," Varian replied while Blood pointed to the water. Both young women saw the bubbles and what was rising from the water. Holy... Alicia opened her mouth as she saw a monstrous figure appear in front of the ship that looked more than familiar.
It was Cala Maria.
All three cups clung to Blood and Varian's legs as they screamed in fear. Blood and Varian didn't scream as they were more annoyed by the clutching of the cups than worried about the monster standing in front of them. Hali looked rather annoyed and rolled her eyes. Not because of the monster but because of the captain's statement. "Me sweet!" she heard and shook her head while Squawrky just looked at him in confusion.
Alicia, on the other hand, seemed to be afraid of Cala Maria. She didn't know why, but when she saw her she got even more than a bad feeling. It was as if her alarm bells were ringing, telling her to flee from here.
She didn't know what the problem was. But when she took a closer look at Cala Maria, she suspected why. The red and yellow eyes were clearly threatening. And the fact that she was huge and Alicia felt small didn't change anything. Wait is she looking at me or does it just seem that way? Alicia asked herself until Brineybeard interrupted her thoughts.
"Now if you'll excuse me, boys, Hali and Alicia this is between a man and the woman he loves" You've got to be kidding me. Alicia really hoped so, but he wasn't kidding her. He went to the bow, turned around and said "Cala Maria! Hi!". Alicia shook her head and gave herself a face palm while Blood and Varian just looked confused. Cala Maria didn't seem too thrilled either and looked from the captain over to Alicia who now realized that Cala Maria was interested in her.
That's why she hid behind Blood, who realized why she was hiding. But Alicia wasn't the only one hiding behind him. Varian was also hiding behind him. This in turn made Cala Maria a little angry, which is why she shot a red laser beam out of her eyes and aimed it at Brineybeard. But before it could hit him, the three cups as well as Hali pulled the captain away so that the beam did not hit him but the parrot, which was petrified from one second to the next.
"We gotta get out of here, Briney. Let's go!" Cuphead said as he and the others tried to drag him further away. But the captain was stubborn and refused to flee. "Unhand me!" he said and pushed the four away. "I'll never give up on love" but a red beam that almost hit him again hurled him to the ground. On his belly stood the three brothers who looked at him with worried looks "Your love wants you dead!" said Cuppy. "Relationships are a series of peaks and valleys" said Brineybeard as Hali gave himself a face palm. "Now step aside" said the Captain, taking the three cups in his hands before placing them on the floor to stand up himself.
Alicia, in turn, walked further and further away from the bow until she was almost on the deck. She tried as hard as she could not to draw attention to herself. "Me sweet, I present to ye...a token of me love" he walked closer to the bow while Cala Maria bent over and her eyes were more visible like the rest of her face. Yes, it was not hard to see that she was in her Gorgon form. In this form her hair had snake heads.
She stared at him, then at the others and then at him again while Brineybeard continued to speak. "A symbol of me enduring devotion, me undying affection..." "You talk too much" Cala Maria interrupted him and fired another beam at him, petrifying Brineybeard himself. Alicia and the others screamed in terror when they saw the petrified captain. Alicia herself now only wanted one thing. Get away from here. She didn't care whether the ship stayed here or not. She didn't want to stay here and end up as a statue or see her friends become one.
However, Alicia didn't get far because a huge hand that could only have come from Cala Maria blocked her path. Unintentionally, Alicia transformed into her demon form, which surprised Hali but pleased Cala Maria. "You're a demon?" Hali asked her, startled. Alicia wanted to answer her question but before she could, she realized that someone had grabbed her by the tail.
It was Cala Maria who pulled Alicia dangling upside down towards her and looked at her more closely. "So you're a demon," she said, grinning mischievously at Alicia, while Alicia just swallowed nervously and said nothing. "Keep your filthy hands off her! She's not dessert!" who drew her sword and was ready to fight Cala Maria. However, the latter seemed to have little interest in this and gripped Alicia tightly in her other hand. "Hmm, I think I'll take you with me" before Hali could do anything, Alicia was wrapped in both of Cala Maria's hands and the giant mermaid/gorgon turned her back on the ship.
Her huge tail fin created a wave that capsized the ship. However, with the combined power of magic and technology, Blood and Varian were able to shield the ship from the huge wave that crashed against the shield as if it were nothing. The ship and the crew were safe for the moment. However, they saw no sign of Cala Maria. She was gone and so was Alicia.
