Mike POV
I turned away from Dennis as he glared at me. He knew full well Tee hadn't just slipped, but he wasn't going to admit it.
I turned to Tracy. Her face was covered in smoke, her arm out of its sling. I'd been too focused on Gus being dropped to the ground to notice her properly before.
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." She coughed a couple of times, clearly having inhaled some smoke. "Just glad I was up there for Gus."
"You were up there already?"
"I thought Harry was up there."
I sighed, pulling her towards me for a hug. "Don't you ever do that again. It's not your job to get people out like that, especially after you're only just out of hospital yourself."
"It's been a week, I'm fine."
I gave her a look. "I don't want you running into any more burning buildings. Do I make myself clear?"
She sighed, before she hugged me back. Clearly she realised the severity of what she'd done, and how easily she could have been hurt. I was glad that for once she wasn't going to argue with me.
I gave her a squeeze as sirens began to come towards us, then pulled away to get the kids back as a fire engine came onto the drive.
I watched Tracy for a moment as she instructed the kids, glad she was ok, then followed Dennis over to the vehicle.
