Chapter XXVI.
Last Time.
"My master is... Moria-sama." Moria laughed again before giving Oars an order.
"Alright.. Look at the bandage on your left arm." Doing that, Oars saw the S.H.C. bounty posters. "Find, and beat the Straw Hat Crew until they return to their ship. I would like it if they didn't die, but if they're worth their bounties then a beating shouldn't kill them."
Oars put his arm down and looked at Luffy. "Found Straw Hat." Moria dashed out into the hall as Luffy jumped on the railing.
"Hey wait a min-!" He stopped hearing Oars behind him. "Gomu Gomu no... Kane! (Gum-Gum Bell!)" He brought his head down and burst through the wall, and into the room with Chopper, and the others are.
"Is Luffy safe?" Chopper asked transforming into his hybrid form.
"Well... He must not be dead... Or else that zombie would be." Gina said looking at Oars with slight fear. "Come out... STRAW HAT CREW!" Oars yelled out shaking the ground.
Naruto looked at Oars before sighing and glowed yellow before his Kurama form started appearing and pushed Oars away.
Luffy.
"Get Back Here!" Luffy yelled at Moria who kept running down the hall.
"Are you going to keep chasing me forever?" Moria asked as he looked back at Luffy.
"I'll admit the big guy caught my interest. But I need to beat you to get the shadows back!" He continued to chase after Moria down the hallway.
Now.
Moria.
Moria was in his room standing in front of a man that was slightly taller than him as his shadow came back in after luring Luffy into the woods. "So, Kuma, what do I owe the pleasure of the only Shichibukai (Seven Warlords) that obeys the Government like a dog?"
He's carrying a Bible and his eyes look to be covered by a pair of glasses. His hat features a pair of rounded ears, dark blue fabric matching his pants, is covered in brown spots. He has a jacket with a large white design reminiscent of a target cross-hair or a coda sign. There are also several white paw prints lining the bottom hem of his coat. He also has a long protruding chin and black hair and gloves on.
This is Bartholomew Kuma, a Shichibukai (Seven Warlords) with a frozen bounty of 296,000,000.
"If you were to take a vacation, where would you go?" Kuma asked having Moria sigh.
"Come now, do I look like a baka? (Fool?) I'm well aware of the power you possess. Get to the point." Moria said walking to the window. "Did you come here to fight me, or what? Speak your business. Why have you come to seek me out?"
"I'm here to deliver a report."
"Then let's hear it."
"Crocodile's replacement has been named." Moria looked over his shoulder.
"Yeah... Who is it?"
"Marshall D. Teach... Otherwise known as Blackbeard." Kuma went on to explain how Blackbeard defeated Ace and was granted the spot.
"What's his bounty?"
Kuma crossed his arms before replying. "Zero."
Moria sighed at that. "So... Unknown potential." Moria chuckled before continuing. "Well, It's great that the spot has been filled. Now the power balance of the world is stable as ever right?" He asked turning around.
"Quite the opposite I think. Ever since the Enies Lobby incident. The Government is keeping a close eye on the Straw Hat Crew. They're traveling from Water Seven to Fishman island using that log. The chances of them getting held up here were high. In short... The Government is worried about another one of us… Losing to them."
Moria dashed over and grabbed his shirt. "Do you know who I am? What I'm doing by keeping them here?" Kuma remained calm as he spoke up.
"I'll help if you need it."
Moria glared at him before yelling. "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE TALKING TO?! Worried about me losing to that small numbered inexperienced pirate crew?!" Kuma glanced over to him.
"There's never 100% in fights. Take Enies Lobby for example." He finished as Moria growled.
"Even so... Are you telling me the Government's so scared that they want two Shichibukai. (Seven Warlords.) fighting them?!" He asked as Kuma sighed.
"It's just an offer while reporting... I wasn't ordered to or anything." Moria scoffed before pointing at him.
"Then take a good look while reporting! And tell those bakas (idiots) the following: The Straw Hat Crew that you were worried about was easily turned into zombie soldiers of Gecko Moria!" He finished with a laugh.
"But Uzumaki Naruto has a bounty higher than yours. And he has multiple powers with no devil fruit weakness… Can you handle him?" Kuma asked getting Moria to glare at him.
Naruto Vs. Oars.
Naruto in his large Chakra mode stood on top of the heads as he punched Oars back before blocking a punch from the zombie. They continued throwing blows as the others stood and watched. Suddenly, the fabric on his stomach opened showing an angered Moria in a chair.
"Really?" Naruto asked before bringing several arms down on Oars' head. "You know, Luffy called dibs on ya. Hope you don't mind me keeping you company until he gets here."
"Yohohoho!"
Brooks suddenly ran out of a building with and a bag of salt. "I thought you would need a lot of salt so I brought some!" rook said with a laugh as Usopp panted.
"Brook You can move?" Franky asked as Brook nodded, and explained he found a bottle of milk while looking for salt.
"Milk heals fractured bones don't you know?!"
Usopp got up and glared at him. "Calcium doesn't work like that!"
Sanji took a drag from his cigarette before speaking up. "Well... The path to the kitchen is broken. That bag is our last hope." Moria started laughing before speaking up. "Be grateful I've joined the front-line-!"
Moria stopped as Naruto's golden hands grabbed Oars and slammed him into the building. Across the ways, Kuma watched the fight as Naruto punched Oars again before choke slamming him onto the ground. He then started punching Oars with his multiple arms.
Luffy.
Luffy ran into the woods and saw a group of pirates being led by a woman.
She is a tall, corpulent woman with short and thin legs. She has small eyes and a pronounced nose above her large, shiny red lips. Her mouth is open showing one missing tooth and a large head. Under a small black bowler hat, her pink hair is braided into two pigtails. She's wearing a tattered coat and yellow clothes with two katanas on her back in an X.
This is Lola, Captain of the Rolling Stones Pirates.
Two men walked up and introduced themselves as the Risky Brothers, members of the Rolling Pirates. They explain they want to get Luffy back in time to get their shadows back after three years and explain there's a way they can give him special abilities. Lola then orders the Risky Brothers to bring in some shadows. They force a shadow into Luffy who started to convulse.
They also give him a sword that the Straw Hat captain grabs and uses with great accuracy by quickly slicing a tree into several pieces. The Rolling Pirates then explain that they plan to use Moria's own abilities against him by putting multiple shadows into Luffy. They then finish explaining that the shadow power-up will only last for ten minutes.
And that now with the fog clear, there's only 20 minutes before daylight begins. Then, one hundred shadows are forced into Luffy. Luffy's skin turns pale blue and he became more muscular. With a more massive sword, Luffy takes it as well, demanding a fight.
"I WANT TO FIGHT NOW!"
Naruto Vs Oars.
Naruto wrapped an arm around Oars' right and squeezed before hearing a crack then hit his shoulder hard before twisting around to kick Oars into the bridge just as a very tall and Muscular Luffy stood in a hole in the wall to the building. "Luffy, Moria's in this zombie's stomach!"
Luffy nodded before jumping over and punched Oars into the woods. The zombies begin to fear that Moria will be losing. Nightmare Luffy begins to slam Oars around. Meanwhile, the Straw Hats meet with the Rolling Pirates who explain they just want to get off Thriller Bark and go out in broad daylight.
Kuma watches from the collapsing mansion as Oars was thrown back into a wall. Oars recovered and tried to throw a punch. "Gomu Gomu no... Buretto! (Gum Gum Bullet!)"
Luffy responds by slicing Oars across the chest and stomach with his sword. He then appears in front of Moria and threw a punch hitting Moria in the face. "Gomu Gomu no… Pisutoru! (Gum-Gum Pistol!)"
Oars then threw his leg up as Luffy took a large breath and twists his body. "Gomu Gomu no Sutōmu! (Gun Gum Storm!)" Luffy then twisted himself and then shoots himself sideways and hits Oars with a barrage of fists.
Oars was then shot back into the building as Luffy fell by the others and had the shadows leave him and feints. "Well, guess I should make sure Luffy won against Oars," Naruto said still in his cloak before jumping up and then down onto Oars' head and heard a crack as he broke his neck.
Naruto saw Oars' hand twitch before having one hand turn into a blade then just slice the zombie's head off. Looking up, Naruto saw the sun rising before dispersing the fox and kept his gold cloak on before falling, did several hand signs, and had a large dome form over everyone to keep them out of the light with a door forming in front of him.
Moria then got out of Oars and smiled as he panted before Lola demands the shadows be returned to their rightful owners. Moria just laughed and, refuses before blaming everything on Luffy. Moria points out how the New World is far more dangerous than anyone could imagine even to the Straw Hat Pirates. Moria then raised his hands and had countless shadows go into him from all over Thriller Bark.
"Shadōzu Asugarudo! (Shadow Asgard!)"
Moria's neck bloated to extreme proportions, his horns also became longer, and his hair became spiky. His arms also became very huge. while his legs became longer compared to their original stubby appearance and he fell to walk on all fours.
Naruto without his cloak rests an arm on the door before glancing back. "Luffy… You got this?"
"Hai, (Yeah,) I do," Luffy said before walking out.
"Sunlights starting to come down through the walls. Better hurry."
Luffy crouched and went into Gia Sekendo. (Gear Second). He then grabbed Moria's pans and slammed into his stomach. "Gomu Gomu no… Jetto Rocketto! (Gum-Gum Jet Rocket!)" A few shadows left Moria's mouth before Luffy then slammed his hands into Moria's stomach. "Gomu Gomu no… Jetto Bazuka! (Gum-Gum Jet Bazooka!)"
He then repeated the attack on Moria who had shadows come out before attacking with his bats having a box form around Luffy who landed on the wall for another attack. "Burakku Bokkusu! (Black Box!)"
Moria then threw a punch creating a hole when hitting the box. A crushed box fell as Moria then stepped on it several times. Luffy then bursts out and bit into his thumb. He then puts the air into his stomach before launching himself into Moria's stomach. "Gomu Gomu no Gigant Jetto Sheru! (Gum-Gum Giant Jet Shell!)"
Moria covered his mouth before seeing Not only Luffy barreling towards him but a large Rasengan (Spiraling Sphere). Both hit his stomach and forced him into the ground creating a crater as he was forced deeper into it every second. "Oodama Rasengan! (Big Ball Spiraling Sphere!)"
Shadows bursts out of Moria's mouth having multiple ones go into the dome. Lola and her crew cheer over the return of their shadows. Luffy has also survived but is unconscious from his intense fight with Moria.
The pirates then ran to the Crew to thank them. "Is there anything we can do to thank you? Maybe help out with Moria's treasure?"
Nami smiled her head before she stiffened. Naruto walked over and puts a hand on her shoulder. "Nami-chan... Anything wrong?" Nami turned to him and spoke up.
"There's another-!" She was interrupted by another voice.
"Eliminate them."
Everyone turned and saw Kuma on the mast standing up. Nami and Lola then explained who Kuma was as Naruto looked to Zoro. Kuma then pulled a glove off his hands and showed he had a paw pad on his palm before hitting one of the other pirates and had him, as well as those behind him, shoot back into the wall.
"I can take him Zoro," Naruto said hands in his pockets. "With Luffy unconscious and you technically being the First Mate, it's up to you."
Naruto stopped as Kuma suddenly appeared in front of the two. "I'll take him… But if I fail, it'll fall onto you as the strongest member to finish him."
Naruto turned to walk away before disappearing in a flash as Kuma tried to attack then appeared beside Gina. "Zoro's called dibs on you first so if he fails. Then you face me."
"Nitoryu Iai: Rashomon! (Two Sword Style Re-sheath: Thin Life Gate!)" Zoro sliced at Kuma who disappeared and cuts into a boulder before Kuma appeared in front of him with his hand above Zoro.
Zoro then dodged when Kuma brought his hand down creating dust. "Crap this guy's fast!" Zoro said before seeing a paw print shaped hole where he was standing.
Kuma looked to him then threw his hand at Zoro having a paw print bubble fly over. Zoro leaned out of the way as holes were created behind him. "Aah!" And screamed as he was nicked on the head and sent back a few feet.
"Sanjūroku Pondo Hō! (36 Caliber Phoenix!)" Zoro shot a wind blade at Kuma who used his left hand to deflect it to a building.
Kuma then reveals that he ate the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi (Paw-Paw Fruit) that allows him to deflect anything. The other Straw Hats question the name and appearance of Kuma's Devil Fruit, particularly Franky who doesn't believe it's a serious devil fruit. Kuma sends an air blast at Franky knocking the cyborg down. Everyone is shocked at how Franky, a cyborg, got knocked down so easily. Robin explains this, saying that Kuma is deflecting the air itself.
"I call that Paddo Hō (Pad Cannon.) It deflects air pressure at light speed and creates a shock wave that can pierce through anything." Kuma explained before getting into a sumo stance as Zoro quickly pulled all three of his blades. "I don't believe in mercy." He then threw both hands out at Zoro."Tsuppari Paddo Hō! (Thrust Pad Cannon!)" Kuma thrusts both of his palms forward multiple times, firing a vast number of pressure shots at Zoro.
Zoro ran into and dodged them. "Tōrō Nagashi! (Streaming Wolf Swords!)"
He then came up to Kuma to attack with his blades only for Kuma to take them on his palms and receive no damage and repelled him back. As Zoro gained his bearings, Kuma appeared behind him ad tried to attack again only for Sanji to kick him in the face.
Naruto sighed before looking at the others. "Go into the dome until this is finished."
He looked to see that Sanji held his leg before dashing over, put his right hand on, and healed it before dashing into the dome.
He turned to see Kuma gathers air with his palms and compresses it into a giant bubble that resembles a paw-print. He then starts to compact it enough to fit within his hands, he releases the compressed air and sends it towards them.
BOOM!
The air quickly decompresses, causing a massive explosion in the form of a bear paw. A few moments go by before Naruto pushed a part of the dome off him to see everyone was knocked out and Kuma was about to hit Luffy.
"Shishi Sonson! (Lion's Song!)"
Only for Zoro to quickly attack with a slice on his shoulder sheathing Wado. Steam came out of the wound as the two looked on in shock as a pressure gauge was on his muscles. "A cyborg like Franky, huh?" Zoro asked panting as Kuma turned to him. "Not quite… Made of stuff tougher than his."
A red light came up on Kuma's left eye as he opened his mouth to reveal a yellow laser that was turning on. Zoro jumped out of the way as Kuma blasted the spot he was on and went into a wall, breaking it. Kuma then fixed his shirt back as Zoro struggled to get up before looking to see the steel that was behind him melted.
Kuma explains that he is a Pacifista. He continues saying that a Pacifista is a creation designed to work for the World Government and says he, himself, was created by the infamous Dr. Vegapunk. Zoro fell to his knees and replies saying that Kuma has a major advantage being a Pacifista with Devil Fruit powers.
He also says that his body has given up on him but, not wanting to give up his captain's head, offers up his own life to Kuma. Zoro says his bounty may not be as high as Luffy's or even Naruto's, but he is willing to give up his dream to become the world's greatest swordsmen in exchange. A surprised Kuma looks at how Zoro is willing to give up his life and dream to make his captain's dream come true.
Suddenly, Sanji gets up and offers up his life instead. However, Zoro, who already made up his mind, knocks out Sanji.
"You sure about this Zoro?"
Zoro looked to Naruto and nodded as he took off his swords before Kuma had a better idea. He agrees to Zoro's plea saying that it wouldn't be honorable for him to still attack Luffy now. Kuma, picking up Luffy, tells Zoro that he will spare Luffy but not before Zoro taking Luffy's place by experience all of the pain he has endured during his time on Thriller Bark.
Kuma then uses his powers to repel all of the pain out of Luffy into a large, red mass of air. Kuma says that Zoro must take all of Luffy's pain if he really does want to take his place saying that the experience will kill Zoro as he is close to death. Kuma sends over a sample to Zoro and Zoro suffers intense pain from that small sample.
"AAAAHHHHHH!"
Zoro falls to the ground but barely manages to make it back to his feet before asking to take the ball to the woods. Zoro then sticks his arms into the giant mass of pain.
Later, Naruto walked up to Zoro who was standing with his arms crossed with blood covering him and the area, and placed his hand on him before healing his wounds.
Next Day.
Everyone parties that they got their shadows are back, While on the Sunny Nami is really happy with the pile of treasure they find. Luffy took a liking to a band with two glass gems on it having Nami reply he could keep it as it was worthless. The crew brings lots of food with them down to the courtyard. While everyone starts enjoying it two men say they saw what happened to Zoro after everyone else, including Sanji, was knocked out. Sanji drags them out and asks what happened.
After being told about Zoro risking his life and taking in all of Luffy's pain from their voyage so far, he makes them swear not to tell anyone, especially Luffy since he would get sad at the thought that all the pain he took for his friends was in one of them. Everyone starts partying, and Luffy tries to feed Zoro, still knocked out from taking all of his pain, some rum, but Chopper won't let him.
Brook then starts to play the piano, and everyone starts partying.
Yo hohoho, yo hohoho Yo hohoho, yo hohoho
Yo hohoho, yo hohoho Yo hohoho, yo hohoho
Gather up all of the crew, it's time to ship out Binks' brew.
Sea wind blows, to where, who knows? The waves will be our guide.
O'er across the ocean's tide. Rays of sunshine far and wide.
Birds they sing, of cheerful things, in circles passing by.
Luffy asks once again if Brook wants to join the crew seeing he got his shadow back. Brook declines again, saying that he made a promise to Laboon the whale. Luffy then tells Brook he doesn't need to worry and that Laboon's fine. Brook starts crying with happiness and has a flashback to when he first met Laboon to when he died. "Hold on a little longer for me Laboon."
He then glanced to Luffy. "May I join your crew?"
Luffy shrugged before replying. "Sure." He said getting everyone to look at them wide-eyed.
They started partying more in the night, and Brook, who remembering something knelled throwing his old wanted poster down. "That's right I forgot to formally introduce myself... I'm 'Dead Bones', and my name is Brook." Everyone looked at him as he continued. "I am a wanted man.. 'Humming Swordsman'. My bounty is 33,000,000 berries. I promise to do my best."
After smiling they continued partying into the night.
Two Days Later.
Zoro sat beside Brook who was playing the violin in front of his crew grave marker that Franky and Usopp made. He placed Yubashiri in front of the marker. He then said a prayer as Brook looked on. "I just joined your crew." He said as Zoro smirked.
"Well… You have some bad luck. This crew is crazy."
They walked back and saw Lola giving Nami a paper similar to when Ace gave Luffy explaining to use it to find her Mother in the New World if they get into trouble. The Crew looks at it not knowing what to do before Lola explains that it's a Vivre Card that is made from part of a person's fingernail which is then made into paper.
She continues that it is completely water and fireproof, but can be torn and given to a cared person that one would be separated from. And that the torn pieces will point to and move towards each other no matter where they are in the world, allowing one to always be able to tell in which direction the other person is.
"Oh hey didn't Ace give me one," Luffy said removing Aces card and saw it burning.
Lola then explains that it also displays the life force of their owner. If the life force of the person who gave the Vivre Card is disappearing, the card will begin to burn. It will grow back to its original size if the person recovers, but disappears completely if the person dies.
Luffy then took the card back explaining Ace could handle himself and they started to sail out of Thriller Bark. And missed three giant shadows looking on from the fog with red glowing eyes.
Later, Sanji gave everyone drinks as Usopp smiled before making a toast. "To our new crewmate Brook!"
"Naruto let's get out of here with the Ku do Bāsuto. (Coup De Burst.)"
Naruto smiled before they blasted off in the air causing Brook to scream. "AAHH! What is this?!"
