''Why should I even get up...?'' Normal Thoughts

(Unova Region)

He didn't know when he fell asleep last night, but it had to have been late. He didn't mean to, but his lovely wife's voice was just too soothing, and he was already exhausted mentally and emotionally from the events of the day.

However, he likely would've stayed asleep, lulled into a comfortable night with the warm body he found himself sleeping on. Unfortunately, the morning sun had an argument to start with him, and insisted on blinding him. One eye sluggishly peeked open, sunlight from the window jabbing him in the eyes. He groaned, eyes rolling as he slowly sat up, careful not to wake Sabrina.

Now awake, he couldn't help the thoughts that filled his head. The silence, while comforting to him, was also haunting. Some part of him was screaming internally that this was all some dream that he was going to wake up from any moment now.

His eyes stared holes into the ceiling above him, threatening it with his gaze. What had happened to his little sister, where had she gone? Why was no one freaking out about this? Why did it seem like the world did not care?

He had to be sure that's what was upsetting him the most, and what scared him to his core. Because Sabrina hadn't mentioned a single thing about her besides the one time when she came back into the room and she found him holding the phone. It was as if she'd given up on finding her, and from the life he'd seemed to have been living with her prior to losing his memory, it seemed as if he had too...

He couldn't be mad at her, because if she, the woman he was married to and the woman he'd been with through thick and thin for the last five years had given up...

Then that must've meant something serious had happened to her, something completely outside of her control. Just sitting here thinking about it made him want to go crazy! It sucked the wind right out of his sails, and for a moment he thought...

What was left for him in this world? What was he supposed to do now? Why should he stay here any longer? His whole reason for becoming the Champion was to become rich so he could let his remaining family live a better life. But he didn't have that anymore...

"Mmm..." A soft moan broke his downward spiraling train of thought, his eyes instead pulled down to the woman sleeping on. Her face scrunched up in her sleep, seemingly troubled by something. His eyes softened, as he leaned down and pressed a light kiss to her forehead. To his relief, she calmed almost immediately.

That's right. He couldn't allow himself to think like that. Did he have something to live for in this world, someone that he should stick around to take care of?

Yes. And she was sleeping right underneath him, dressed in nothing more then a skimpy two piece bikini that did nothing to hide her feminine figure. She was all he had left for family, and she was the sole thing tying him together right now.

Glancing over, he watched Sabrina's sleeping face, a soft smile growing on his own. Carefully he got up, making sure not to wake her.

It was finally warmer in the house now, the storm from the other night having passed. He still found it too bothersome to go find clothes to put on, so he didn't bother.

But he did have something better in mind. Breakfast sounded awfully good right about now, and he wasn't sure who all he'd be cooking for, so it was better to make something big.

The apparent champion of Unova snuck over to the kitchen, making sure to keep as quiet as possible. He cracked open the fridge, taking stock of cooking supplies. There was a bundle of eggs, an assortment of chilies and peppers, and some cheeses. A bottle of heavy cream, and some assorted fruits.

He closed the fridge and instead popped open the freezer, shivering slightly underneath the frigid air. There wasn't much in there, but there was a frozen Basculin that he could probably do something with. Although, it was probably smart to leave that for dinner.

His eyes gazed blankly at the kitchen, grabbing the cooking apron that was hung beside the fridge, quickly throwing it on. It fit very loosely on him, but he supposed that it was likely Sabrina's and not his own.

"Okay… let's see here.." He muttered to himself, grabbing six eggs, the heavy cream, and the vegetables. He set them on the table, before quietly scouring through the kitchen to find a good frying pan. Once he found one, he quickly threw it on the stove, lighting the fire before lightly coating the pan with oil.

"I sure hope she likes omelettes." He thought aloud, his voice a whisper. He'd cracked the eggs into a bowl, adding a small amount of the heavy cream to thicken the mix. Some people'd call him weird, but it was a mix his mother had taught him when he was young.

After whisking it up, he poured it in the pan, making sure to cook it on low. With a cutting board he'd pulled out moments ago, he quickly diced up the peppers and chilies, adding them to the pan.

The eggs were almost ready to be flipped, but he still had to add the cheese. He quickly washed his hands of the chilies, before slicing the cheese into thin pieces. Adding that to the pan, he finished it with a little bit of salt, before finally flipping it. Turning it on low heat, he capped the pan with a lid.

It would be done in a few moments, giving him a second to clean up.

"Darling… I hope you know that you look ravishing in that apron..." Hugh nearly jumped out of his skin at the voice yawning in his ear. He turned around, finding Sabrina smiling happily at him, her eyes half lidded as if she got little sleep.

"Oh, I didn't hear you get up." Hugh said, surprised as he looked up to her. "I was hoping to surprise you with breakfast." He muttered lightly.

Sabrina looked confused, eyeing the stove in surprise. Hugh seemed to catch her gaze, his own smile withering. "I-Is that alright?"

"O-Oh yes!" She hastily added, raising a hand to her cheek in embarrassment. "It's just been a while since you ever cooked anything, I was simply surprised."

Hugh frowned, glancing down in thought.

He didn't like the sound of that. Did he not cook for her during their time together?

Why?

Well, he was going to change that here and now.

"Here, I've got food for you." He pulled the food hot off the stove, quickly dividing it up into two portions. He gave her the larger portion. "I… I don't know what you like… So I hope this isn't horrible." He smiled nervously, holding up a plate.

She took it happily. A moment later saw the two sitting at the dining room table. When Hugh sat down, the both of their states of undress became apparent, and he couldn't help but glance at her with a wandering eye, cheeks warming. "S-So… What do we do..?" He tried starting up a conversation.

She looked up from her food, noticing his wandering eyes yet not willing to say anything. She knew what he was doing, and wanted to tease him. But as it stood, their relationship right now was level one. If she started getting hands on and touchy like she'd done to wake him yesterday, or suddenly, accidentally, had her swimsuit fall off, she was afraid that it might be too much for him too fast.

The last thing she wanted to do was make him regret promising to give their marriage an honest shot. And she felt like suddenly coming onto him heavily, like she really wanted to do, would do just that.

So she was going to take it slow. She leaned forward, resting her elbows on the able, supporting her chin with her hands. "What do you mean, Darling?"

"Hmm.. I mean, us as a couple. What do we usually… do together?" He explained his question. "Do we go out much? Or do we prefer… to stay alone together, inside?" He asked genuinely. His eyes widened suddenly, a thought coming to him. "Where do we live actually? I haven't even looked outside the windows at all…" He coughed nervously, scratching his nose out of habit.

Her cheeks turned a light shade of red at the question, memories of the past few months bubbling to the surface. "W-Well… We'd usually do anything I want…" She said.

Her cheeks started turning darker the longer he stared at her, patiently waiting for her to continue. It was a strange sense of deja vu, because it felt just like the first time they met, his powerful gaze turning her into a stuttering mess.

"Like what?" He asked outright. Her cheeks started catching fire. "What do we do together...? As a couple?"

What was she supposed to say? She couldn't come right out and say it, especially not right now! How was he going to react if she told him that they'd spent the last few weeks fulfilling her lewd dreams as a wife?

She cleared her throat very unconvincingly, failing to put down the redness of her cheeks.

"I-I-If I'm being honest, after everything we'd gone through together, I had just wanted to… relax…" She clasped her hands together in front of her, fingers nervously rubbing back and forth. "I didn't want to wake up and continue on our adventure anymore. Most days I just wanted to lay in bed with you. For me… Being by your side without anyone to intervene is all I wanted…" She explained quietly. She failed to mention all the things she loved to do in that bed, but that could wait for later.

"We would go to the beach together and lay in the sands, nothing but an umbrella and a few towels. Just the two of us, alone in private…" She looked up in surprise when he reached across the table, grabbing her hands.

"We can still do that if you want…" Hugh offered slowly, trying to be helpful. "We can go back to bed now if you really want to, I wouldn't mind…" His eyes were sincere. "We don't have anything on the schedule... from my knowledge..."

He had to try and say something, but he had a feeling that it wasn't going to be enough. It wasn't ever going to be enough for her, and if he was being honest, it wasn't going to be enough for him. The most he could do was throw his head against the wall and hope he falls in love with her again, and he was sure that it wasn't going to be the most difficult thing imaginable.

She was, without a doubt, the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen in his entire life. And he could see himself falling deeply in love with her and starting a family with her one day.

In fact, it had already happened…

But the loss of memory was going to haunt this relationship forever. She would likely never get over the feeling of having lost someone, even when that someone was still standing in front of her. As it stood now, he had not even the slightest inkling as to the history behind his life vanishing from his mind.

But, running gung-ho out into the world to try and fix what he wasn't sure was broken or not, and leaving his wife to grieve was not going to slide. He was going to be here for her first and foremost, and he was going to put her first, especially above himself.

While he was at it he'd look into what happened to his sister. He wasn't going to believe that she vanished without a trace and that even the most renowned detectives couldn't find her. It just didn't make any logical sense…

Perhaps her disappearance and his memory vanishing had something in common? Nevertheless, he couldn't do anything about it right this moment, so he focused on saving what was right in front of him.

Sabrina shook her head lightly, expression faltering. "It's not the same…" She said. "You don't remember anything… It just wouldn't be the same…" She promised herself that she wouldn't cry, but she couldn't stop the hitch in her throat.

A look of understanding seemed to fill the young man's eyes, and an idea hit him out of nowhere. The solution to this wall that had appeared between them, if there really was one. It'd likely be called a scatterbrained idea that was ridiculous in execution, but he could see it turning out really well.

He needed to get to know her personally again, like how she knew everything about him. This whole one sided relationship wasn't going to work if he hadn't the faintest clue as to who she was as a person, what she liked, what she hated. He needed to learn about her, take a keen interest in her feelings.

Learn to love her…

So…

There was only one way he could think of that made logical sense…

Nothing about this was logical.

"Sabrina?" He asked suddenly. She looked up, tears poking at the corner of her eyes. She caught herself blushing at the determination in his eyes, not having seen him this serious in a while. He seemed unsure of himself, yet he seemed determined in his beliefs.

"H-Hmmm?" She managed.

"Would you go out on a date with me?" He asked, eyes closed in a smile. The surprise on her face was a look he'd never forget, one of his newest memories. "To get to know each other...?" This time around, he wasn't going to allow anything to get in his way of happiness…

If that'd make her happy, then he was planning on seeing it through to the end.

Because if he was honest with himself, he was terrified of what'd become of him without someone to hang onto like a lifeline…

What was she supposed to wear? She had a date with her husband planned for lunch, but she was conflicted on how to dress for the occasion.

She wanted to go casual, yet she wanted to dress to impress. Never mind the fact that Hugh had already seen her practically naked when she was dressed in nothing but her immodest swimsuit.

Eventually she pulled out a fitting strapless black dress that extended nearly down to the ground, wrapping comfortably around the front and underside of her breasts while leaving the top open for her crest to poke out of. However, it had cutouts for her thighs, showing all of the front of her legs and partially her waist line, while a part of it extended straight down the middle to provide some form of modesty. She also wore black mid thigh length stockings and black bicep length gloves, and frilly black panties. She topped it off with a black choker, the soft fabric contrasting well with the rest of her dress. Perhaps it was a little over the top, but she was a Gardevoir…

Gardevoir naturally loved dressing up nice, hence why they always wore their dresses. Further then that, she wanted to dress to impress. Though his words calmed her heart somewhat, she still felt as if she had to win him over all over again. There was still that horrible part of her heart that told her that he might leave her for someone else.

That was why she was trying so desperately hard to gain his attention.

She didn't want to be forgotten…

"So I found this in the- O-Oh…" Sabrina jumped, turning around as Hugh stepped in on her changing. In his hands he held a tuxedo, albite a bit more casual one.

However, she wasn't paying any attention to that.

No…

His flummoxed face stuck in open mouthed awe was what really drew her attention. He couldn't tear his eyes off of her, cheeks red as his eyes traveled her body.

His reaction filled her with pride, and she found some of that fear from earlier being washed away.

"W-Wow… You're breathtaking…" The words escaped from his mouth, almost not believing what he was seeing. Sure, he thought she was the hottest most beautiful woman he'd ever seen before when she was in her swimsuit. But seeing her in that dress, he couldn't help but realize that she was absolutely gorgeous.

He was stunned…

"Your gaze is so intense, Darling." She cooed lightly, eyes fluttering. She couldn't help but tease him. "I'm happy you think I'm beautiful." She said genuinely. It was words like those from him that helped her believe that maybe they had a good chance at this marriage.

She turned around, trying to reach for the back of the dress. "Darling? Can you help me?" She asked. The back of the dress was entirely open, exposing her back and shoulders. This was as much of a style choice as it was to allow her crest to comfortably not be bothered by the clothing. That being said, that meant that the back of the dress, and the entire top half of her dress entirely, was held together by two strings tied together at the back.

"O-Oh yeah. Of course." He quickly gathered himself, setting the suit on the bed. The height difference between them was made very apparent when he stood behind her, his face only at the middle of her back. He grabbed both pieces of string, tying it underneath her crest. His hands bumped up against it, and he stopped as Sabrina suddenly sucked in a breath.

"C-Careful Darling, that's sensitive." She said, voice shaky. His eyes widened.

"Sorry, sorry." He apologized. He stepped back. He couldn't help but take in her form again.

With her finally dressed, she turned around with a small twirl. The fringes of the dress spun around her as she did so. "I'll let you get dressed Darling." She smiled, stepping into the bathroom.

Hugh smiled, turning back to his own getup. He never thought he'd ever wear something like this, but apparently he'd already done so multiple times before. Deciding not to put it off further, he quickly put it on.

The suit was dark blue, the shirt a red that seemed to contrast well with the rest of it. It was vaguely reminiscent of his typical traveling getup in color, yet lacking the white of his turtleneck. It fit well, if a bit snug in certain parts.

He turned to the wall mirror, laughing nervously as he saw his hair. While it was his normal wild gravity defying locks, it wouldn't probably fit with the theme. He poked his head into the bathroom, hoping to find some hair gel. His tongue got caught in his throat when he stepped in, and the look Sabrina wore was just…

Beautiful.

She'd put on a shiny green eyeshadow, the color nearly the same as her hair in shade. It made what was already perfect in his eyes, that much more so.

She smiled at him, the look enhanced by her skilled makeup usage. "Ready Darling?" She asked, grabbing him by the arm. He smiled with a hint of bashfulness up at her.

He supposed that his hair would have to do as it was naturally this time around…

To answer his question from earlier, he and Sabrina had apparently settled down in a house just on the outskirts of Undella Town. And while it was certainly one of the most beautiful towns in Unova, it was lacking in places to take Sabrina out on a date. Restaurants were not commonplace in town, however, there definitely happened to be a place that had everything he'd wanted.

That was Nimbasa City, central of Unova. It was definitely quite a distance from his house, not even within a few days worth of walking would get him there. Hugh had expressed his wish to take her someplace fancy, but was upset at the distance of any nearby city.

That little problem was quickly solved when Sabrina grabbed hold of his arm, and with her unparalleled psychic powers, she teleported him and herself to the outskirts of town.

One moment he was standing inside his house, the next he was walking down the center of Nimbasa's central boulevard. Flashing lights and busy streets surrounded him, and it was almost too much to handle all at once.

He looked up, taking in the city for the first time. He'd lived in Unova his whole life, but as a kid he'd never really adventured out. Whatever his experiences with the land he had gained had too been wiped away, and it was as if he was setting foot into a new town for the first time.

However…

Perhaps he hadn't taken into account the fact that he was famous now.

Because everyone had stopped to stare in surprise at the champion of Unova. And that surprise quickly turned to excitement.

"There he is! The champion!"

"O-Oh my gosh, is this for real!?"

"That's amazing! Quick, someone take a picture!"

"High Hugh! We love you!" A few girls a couple years younger then him waved at him from across the road, blushing and giggling to themselves. He smiled a bit nervously, throwing a wave back at them.

"He waved at us! Oh my gosh, this is too much!"

Hugh laughed nervously, waving or greeting anyone that did so to him. "Do people usually get this rowdy around me?" He asked, glancing up curiously at his wife. He didn't seem to notice her grip around his arm become a bit firmer.

"You're a celebrity, Darling. You're famous around most parts now." She said, smiling down at him. "It's made little ventures like this one… tiresome to deal with in the past." She sighed.

He looked bothered by that. He hadn't thought of his fame causing a problem like this prior. And from the way she spoke about it, it was obvious that there'd been dates or other outings such as this one that had been intruded upon by his fans before.

"W-We can go somewhere less noticeable if you would like. If this is too much." He offered, but stopped when he noticed her smile.

"I actually already had a place in mind. It's higher class, and we never get bothered when we attended before." Sabrina explained happily. He hummed along with her and instead let her drag him along.

"Table for two please." Sabrina said. She led him to a fancy restaurant that cornered the city block, the building acting as the bottom floor to a fancy hotel. Where it stood had a wonderful view of of the lake that surrounded the city.

Upon entry they were greeted by a waitress and led to a table for two. Sure enough, their presence drew the attention of many of the patrons who attended the establishment. However, Hugh chalked that up to the unmatched beauty that was his towering eight foot tall wife.

He was still mesmerized by the dress she'd picked out for such an occasion as this. He almost missed the waitress asking him what he'd like for a drink.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry. Water will do fine." He said, smiling up at her. The girl smiled bashfully, before nodding and taking Sabrina's request as well.

"I'll take water as well." Sabrina hummed. The girl quickly scampered off, leaving the two alone. Although many eyes were on him, it seemed that no one was willing to step forward to intrude upon their date.

Hugh took this moment to look around, taking in the fancy nature of the restaurant. It was definitely higher class, but definitely something he'd never expected to end up going to. "You know, this was the place you took me the day after our wedding."

Hugh turned back to Sabrina as she started talking, focusing on her instead of anything around him. "Here? Really?" The man of the hour couldn't help but ask in surprise.

"Mmhmm." His beautiful wife nodded. "Why? Are you surprised?" She asked lightly. He shook his head.

"No, not at all. I just assumed that you'd enjoy a more private dinner then this." He said in response. She smiled.

"I definitely enjoy our alone time more then anything else, Darling. But I'm afraid that's sharing a little too much for now…" She cooed, cheeks turning red. He looked up in surprise, head tilted to the side.

"How so?" He asked. Her cheeks started burning brighter.

"N-Never mind, please forget I said anything." She coughed, trying to change the subject.

"Oh, alright then." Hugh hummed. He took a moment to get lost in her eyes, enjoying the way she blushed and how it made her face glow. "So, tell me a little about yourself. What was our life together like, from the beginning?" He asked genuinely, waiting in rapt attention for her response.

She smiled, settling a little more comfortably into her chair. The wood squeaked underneath her weight, but she paid it no mind. "Well, let me remember. It was years ago now that we first set out on our journey. After you first picked me up from Nuvema Town we made our way to Striaton City. I think you mentioned something about challenging the gym to get stronger." She laughed at the end, just thinking back about that time.

Hugh looked nervous, smiling as he scratched the side of his jaw out of habit. "R-Really? I went after a gym immediately? There's no way we could've been prepared for that…" He muttered in exasperation. Sabrina laughed.

"Oh no, of course not Darling. That's why the gym leaders sent us away immediately. They told us to come back when we got stronger." She recalled.

"So what happened after that…?" Hugh asked.

She smiled. "We trained…"
