Season 1, Saga 1: New York Chapter 4: Chaos Emerald Chaos
(The scene opens to the ground inside Chris' Grandpa's room above the garage where they are talking about the Chaos Emeralds.)
"So this 'Chaos Control' created a warp in time and space, and that's how you guys ended up here. Hmmm, I think I understand that much, but I still don't understand these 'Chaos Emeralds' you guys are talking about." Chris said
"You've never heard of the Chaos Emeralds? Boy, you really do have a lot to learn, don't ya!" Tails said
"Each Chaos Emerald is filled with a magical power. So you could imagine what would happen if you found all seven of 'em." Amy said
"But no-one has ever found all seven emeralds and now it's highly improbable that anyone will ever find them." Chris' Grandpa said
"What do you mean, Chuck?" Zee asked
"Yeah, why is that?" Cream asked
"Well, you see, kids, every one of the precious Chaos Emeralds has disappeared." Chuck said
"That doesn't mean they're gone for good! Anytime the seven Chaos Emeralds come together in one place, they scatter and disappear all over again!" Sonic said
"Then that means they're still out there someplace." True said
"That's right!" Sonic said
"Only we don't have any way of knowing where. If they're on this planet, that's good, but if they're still on the planet we came from, we may never get home." Tails said
"Listen, if the emeralds ARE somewhere on this planet, and if we can find some way to locate them all, maybe we'll be able to reverse that time warp. You guys will be back on your home planet before you know it! Right, Sonic?" Chris asked
"Yeah! No worries!" Sonic said
(The scene shifts to a construction yard, revealing the green Chaos Emerald partially buried in the dirt. The scene then changes to the white house where the President is speaking with the Director of Central Intelligence.)
"And, where are they?" the President asked
"It seems the hedgehog and his friends are staying with a family in Station Square along with two kids that are not from here, and our agents have traced Eggman to an island somewhere in the Southern Sea." the Director of Central Intelligence said
"Well, get going! I want them captured!" the President said
"With all due respect, it might be best to keep them under surveillance so we can observe their behavior." the Director of Central Intelligence said
"Grr, that's all well and good, but you'd better pay special attention to that dangerous Eggman character!" the President said
"We've already sent out a reconnaissance team, Mr. President. We'll be sure to report back any suspicious activities." the Director of Central Intelligence said
"Any word on the animals?" the President asked
"We've had our operatives watching them too, sir, and we're dispatching an undercover agent to get information on the boy. If there's any unusual activity, we'll know about it." the Director of Central Intelligence said
(at the school, the kids were talking to each other while waiting for the teacher to come as Chris is talking to two of his friends.)
"I bet you that little hedgehog thing is so fast, they're never gonna get him!" the boy in a green jacket said
"I bet you're right. Chris, you think they'll ever catch that hedgehog?" the girl in pink overalls asked
"Huh? Err... I don't know." Chris said
"Children, may I have your attention? I'd like to make a brief announcement to you all. Your teacher, Ms. Westerly, will be taking a leave of absence. Therefore, she will be not with you for the remainder of the semester. [Chris, Danny and Frances gasp.] Please say hello to Mr. Stewart, who will be your substitute." the School Principal said
"Hello, children." Mr Stewart said
"Hello, Mr. Stewart!" all the kids said
"He looks nice, doesn't he, Chris?" the girl in pink overalls asked
(Later, the school bell rings. Kids begin to head for home.)
"Danny, c'mon, hurry up!" Chris said
"Okay, I'll be there in a minute!" Danny said
"Christopher Thorndyke. The principal told me your name, and I was wondering if you were the same Christopher Thorndyke whose father is the CEO of the Starship Software company, Nelson Thorndyke, and whose mother is the famous film actress, Lindsey Fair." Mr. Stewart said
"Yeah, that's me." Chris said
"Well, I must say, Christopher, it's a privilege to meet the son of such distinguished parents." Mr. Stewart said
"Thanks, that's very nice of you to say." Chris said
"Good meeting you, Christopher." Mr. Stewart said
"Good to meet you too." Chris said
"By the way, this might sound strange, but do you have a favorite animal?" Mr. Stewart asked
"Uh... well... um... hedgehogs, I guess." Chris said
"Ah..." Mr. Stewart said
"Is that weird?" Chris asked
"No, not at all!" Mr. Stewart said
"Hey, Chris!" Danny said
"Huh?" Chris asked
"Sorry, let's go!" Danny said
"It was nice talking to ya, Mr. Stewart. See ya!" Chris said
(The scene touches on a construction yard, where an excavator hits the green Chaos Emerald.)
"Hey! What's happening?! Help! Somebody help me! I'm losing control! [The excavator moves uncontrollably around the construction worksite.] Ahh! I can't stop this thing!" a Construction Worker shouted
"Hey, are you all right?!" another Construction Worker asked in fright
"I... don't know. All of a sudden, the thing has a mind of its own." a Construction Worker said
(The excavator moves again. Back at the school, Chris and Danny were in class talking to each other.)
"Hey, Chris, what was Mr. Stewart talking to you about in the hall?" Danny asked
"Uh, he asked me what my favorite animal was." Chris said
"Huh, that is kind of weird." Danny said
(back at the mansion, True, Cream and Cheese were on the couch reading a book as the news report was on.)
"An unusual gemstone was discovered today at a department store construction site. Eye-witnesses at the site report that construction machinery seemed to malfunction whenever it came within close contact of this strange jewel. The stone does appear to be radiating an invisible, highly-charged energy. Now, some of you watching at home, may be experiencing some static. This is a direct result of the gem's magnetic power." (True, Cream and Cheese soon fall asleep during the report only to be woken up from hearing the book land on the ground as they saw the Emerald's picture.) "This is an artist's rendering." the News Reporter said (Cream gasps.)
"We've gotta tell Sonic! Hurry!" Cream said
"What is it?" (watches Cream and Cheese head outside and follows them.) "you know what the gem is?" True asked
(outside, Sonic was napping on the roof until he woke up while stretching.)
"Pretty good nap. I needed that!" Sonic said
"Sonic, you won't believe it." Cream said (gets Sonic's attention from below.)
"What's up?" Sonic asked
"They've found one! They've found one!" Cream shouted
(at Eggman's Fortress, Eggman and Rainbow King were watching the news report about it.)
"Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation of the surrounding area to determine the possible source of the gem. SSTV will continue to keep you posted with further updates. This is Scarlet Garcia reporting live from the site for SSTV news." Scarlet said
(Laughs) Well, what do you know?! A Chaos Emerald right under my nose!" Dr. Eggman said
"So that's what a Chaos Emerald is? My, it's quite fascinating." Rainbow King said
"It's not just a sight to behold, it's also powerful." Dr. Eggman said
"Doctor." the gold plated robot said
"Yes, Decoe?" Dr. Eggman asked
"Your cards." Decoe said
"Your name is Decoe?" Rainbow King asked
"Of course, it's the name I was given when I was created." Decoe said
(grabs the deck of cards from Decoe and looks at them.) "Hmm, let's see. Ah, which one? Hmm, I can't choose." (Doctor Eggman places the pack of cards into the Selection Machine and pulls the handle down.) "Beacon! Ah HA HA!" Dr. Eggman said
"It's back to that strange flotation cloud then?" Rainbow King asked
"You're staying here under Decoe and Bocoe's watch, and it's called the Egg Mobile!" Dr. Eggman yelled (causes Rainbow King to fly backwards into Decoe and Bocoe while heading out.)
"He can be a hard one to make friends with, isn't he?" Rainbow King asked
"He never had friends." Decoe said
"It's why he made an empire from where we're from." Bocoe said
(Beacon prepares to take off into the skies while Dr. Eggman flies side-by-side with it on his Egg Mobile. While at a government agency, Beacon was located from the computer alerting the workers.)
"Enemy aircraft spotted!" a Reconnaissance man said
"Roger." a man from the radio said
(in the air, Eggman was making his way to the construction site with Beacon flying next to him.)
"Once I get my hands on that Chaos Emerald, I'll create an even more powerful robot, and getting rid of that pesky blue hedgehog will be a breeze!" Dr. Eggman said (Laughs)
(at the mansion, Tails was getting ready to fly the Tornado into the sky as True is on Cumulo about to head out.)
"Be careful! Don't get hurt, Tails!" Cream said
"You too, True!" Zee said
"Don't worry, Cream. We'll be okay!" Tails said
"I hope Sonic knows where he's going. If he gets lost, we won't know where to look for him." Amy said
"It's how Sonic is." True said
"Don't worry about Sonic, if anyone can find the Chaos Emerald, he can." Tails said
"Good luck, and be sure to keep your eyes out for Sonic!. I certainly hope they can find that Emerald." Chuck said
(In the streets of Station Square, Sonic jumps from a gap between buildings to another before running on the streets.)
"The place is around here somewhere. Bet I can see it easier with a bird's eye-view! I'll just chill out up here and wait for True, Tails and Amy!" Sonic said
(back with Eggman, he and Beacon were continuing on until missiles began to follow them as Eggman noticed them.)
"Hmm? Well, I do believe that someone is following me." (Laughs) "This could be fun! What do you say, Beacon? Let's sink the vinks!" (Beacon tricks the missiles into following it and manages to avoid just before touching the water.) "How do you like them apples? You foolish flyboys thought you could pull one over on the good doctor, didn't you?! Well, I guess the bad doctor proved you wrong!" Dr. Eggman said
(back at the school, Stewart had put up a math problem on the chalkboard for the kids to see.)
"Questions, anyone? Mmm, alright, now you try it." Mr. Stewart said
"Huh?" (looks towards the window and notices Eggman flying by in his Egg Mobile from a distance.) "Ah!" Chris said
(everyone in the classroom heard Chris and turned to him wondering what he saw.)
"What are you looking at, Chris?" the girl in pink overalls asked
"Er... um... 'scuse me, Mr. Stewart, I'll be right back, I gotta do something." Chris said (runs out of the classroom.)
"Chris!" Danny shouted
"Keep working, class. I need to step away from a moment. Study quietly on your own." Mr. Stewart said (walks out of the classroom to follow Chris.)
(out on the streets, Chris is on roller skates heading to where Eggman is going.)
(Huffs and puffs) "I've just gotta find that emerald! Just got to!" Chris shouted
(Mr. Stewart follows Chris in his car. Meanwhile, Sonic was still waiting until he saw Cumulo and the Tornado flying over.)
"It's about time! You'd think they can fly that thing a little faster. I'm still surprised tha Cumulo is faster though." Sonic said (Cumulo coos as she bumps Sonic a bit.)
"Hey, Sonic, it's over there!" Amy shouted
"Chaos Emerald, here I come!" Sonic said (speeds towards where the Chaos Emerald is.)
"Huh?" (looks at a distance to see Eggman was making his way to where the Chaos Emerald is in his Egg Mobile.) "Uh oh. Quick Cumulo, we have to keep up with Sonic." True said (Cumulo coos and speeds after Sonic.)
(back at the construction site, Scarlet and the crew were taking a break from the report as they were at the back of a news van.)
"Wow, pretty freaky, huh?" a news reporter asked
"Yeah, you said it! First, that weird hedgehog comes out of nowhere, now this magnetic emerald!" (looks up to notice something in the sky.) "Hey!" the Cameraman said
"Oh!" Scarlet said
"What's the matter?!" a news reporter asked
"Look, up there!" the Cameraman said
"What's that?" Scarlet asked
(lifts his camera up to get a better shot in the sky only to see it was Eggman.) "Woah, hey, it looks like that Dr. Eggman guy!" the Cameraman shouted
(The crowd gasps as Doctor Eggman flies closer. Meanwhile Sonic dashes towards the emerald's direction with True and Cumulo following close behind. The crowd turns to flee.)
"What's going on here?! So, Dr. Egghead thinks he can nab that Chaos Emerald before us!" Sonic said
(back in the sky, Eggman was nearing the Chaos Emerald with Beacon following behind.)
"Heh, we're closing in!" (looks at the ground to notice Sonic and True.) "It's that blasted hedgehog! Change of plans, we'll come back for our little treasure later on. First, we'll get rid of that meddling Sonic!" Dr. Eggman said (Beacon repeatedly rams into Sonic while Dr. Eggman laughs in amusement.)
"Quick, Amy!" Tails shouted
"Look, Sonic, the ring, I'll throw it to you! Catch!" Amy shouted (Sonic attempts to catch the ring but misses.)
"Not good..." Tails said
"Oh, no! We're too far away! Hey, what if we try to get closer?" Amy asked
"It won't be easy, but I can try!" Tails said
"All right, let's do it!" Amy said
(With Eggman, he laughed as he saw it happening.)
(Laughs) "Now that our speedy little friend is out of the way, let's get back to our original plan, shall we?" (Laughs as he comes to land. Eggman jumps off his Egg Mobile and begins to dig through the dirt to find the Chaos Emerald only to have Chris snatch it at the last second.) "UGGH! GIVE THAT BACK TO ME!" Dr. Eggman yelled
"I can't believe it. I found the Chaos Emerald! [Eggman pokes him and slaps Chris' palm, snatching the Emerald in the process.] Hey, that's mine!" Chris shouted
"Sorry. Not anymore. Besides, my dear boy, you'd hardly know what to do with such a thing!" Dr. Eggman said (Laughs)
"But I found it first!" Chris shouted
"Buzz off, kid!" Dr. Eggman said
"But it's mine!" Chris shouted
"Let go of me, you pipsqueak!" Dr. Eggman said
"Give me that!" (Dr. Eggman and Chris fight before the doctor proceeds to take off into the skies.) Ahhhhh!" Chris screamed
(Beacon is shown repeatedly ramming into Sonic.)
"HEY! Knock it off!" Sonic shouted
"Sonic!" Amy shouted
(Amy passes Sonic a Ring to which he was about to catch it only for it to fly over him, but when Cumulo flew over, True caught the ring in her hand causing her hand to burn from it a bit until a bright glow enveloped True's body as Sonic landed on the wing of the Tornado who was blocking his eyes along with Tails, Amy and Cumulo to keep themselves from going blind from the glow, after a few seconds, the glow went down revealing True as tall as Chris now along her body covered in blue armor while hovering in place, the others were shocked from what their seeing, Beacon then began heading towards True, but when True opened her eyes, the iris was glowing blue while the white part of her eyes were now black, she then held her hand up towards Beacon and shot a laser at Beacon, destroying it to pieces without breaking a sweat.)
"Whoa, that's something you don't see everyday." Sonic said
"HELP! SOMEBODY HELP!" a voice shouted
"It's Chris!" Sonic said
"We're coming, Chris!" Amy said
"Chris, hold on!" Tails said
(without warning, Cumulo flew past the Tornado startling Tails as he looked back to see Amy wasn't behind him anymore realizing she was on Cumulo now as he heard Amy scream.)
"Whoa! Slow down!" (Amy then saw where Cumulo was taking her to see the same glow enveloped True again only for it to go down revealing True back to her normal self and unconscious, Cumulo got close enough for Amy to catch True in her arms.) "Gotcha! Phew, thanks for letting me know Cumulo." Amy said (Cumulo coos as she flew back to the mansion with True and Amy on board as Tails followed from behind.)
(Dr. Eggman looks at the Chaos Emerald in his hand and laughs while Chris tries to climb aboard the Egg Mobile. Eggman notices and tries to tilt the vehicle to throw him off but Chris hangs on. Another attempt results in Chris grabbing onto Eggman's mustache.)
"I won't let go! Give me back that emerald!" Chris shouted
You grubby, little beast, let go of my moustache!" Dr. Eggman said
(Gets his grip removed by Eggmand and falls with the Chaos Emerald in hand.) "Ahhhhh!" Chris screamed
(straightens his mustache.) "That caterwauling brat certainly was a handful!" (continued straightening his mustache until he realized something and looked at his hands in panic.) "ARRGH! My emerald!" Dr. Eggman shouted
(Chris continues free-falling.)
"I'll save him!" (Mr. Stewart tries to speed up to Chris only to watch Sonic speed from behind and save Chris.) "Well, it's good to know someone else is looking out for the kid. Speaking of looking out for kids, I'd better get back to school." Mr. Stewart said (starts driving again to head back to the school.)
(Back at the mansion, the group were in Chuck's room where they were gathered in a circle with Chris holding the Chaos Emerald except for True who was on Chuck's bed unconscious.)
"Now that we have one, we just need six more!" Cream said
"That's right, Cream!" Amy said
"I'm not certain we should keep it here. After all, it might have an effect on my equipment." Chuck said
"That would be bad." Zee said
"No problem, if anything goes wrong with them, I'll fix them for ya!" Tails said
"Alright, it's a deal!" Chuck said
"Okay, grandpa!" Tails said
"Um, Sonic, I'm sorry..." Chris said
"What are you sorry for?" Sonic asked
"Well, for... for losing-" Chris didn't get to say
"Got it back, didn't ya? That's all that matters! I think you did a great job!" Sonic said
"Uh, I... I did?!" Chris asked
"You sure did, Chris. Just be a little more careful next time, huh?" Chuck asked (Laughs.)
"Thanks." Chris said
"There's one thing that I'm worried about though." Amy said
"What's that?" Sonic asked
"It's True." (turns to where True is for the others to look at her as well.) "She somehow got stronger when she caught the ring I was throwing to Sonic, but it wore off for her to turn back to normal after she destroyed Eggman's robot." Amy said
"I've made some calculations about what you told me from it." (turns to his computer and presses some buttons for some diagrams to show with True on them.) "I found that True's stats are lower than others, she's not a fighter, not a runner, she doesn't even have an ounce of rage. But when she caught that ring, she changed." (presses a few more buttons for the diagram of True's body to change into the form she was in from when she destroyed Beacon as the rage bar went up to 40%.) "it seems the ring has brought her rage up." Chuck said
"But it left a bit of a burn mark on her hand." Amy said (places her hand on top of True's bandaged hand.)
"She may be tough, but I don't think she liked it." Sonic said
"I just hope nothing happened when her rage went up." Chris said
(on a distant island, animals were wondering around in the forest as a squirrel was making its way to a tree until it found a single pink metal gauntlet standing up on the ground, the squirrel sniffed it a bit only to jump back in fright from seeing one of the fingers twitch a bit, which caused the squirrel to run up the tree in fright.)
