On to Stow-on-Side
The group exits Hammerlocke and have arrived on Route 6 and are on their way to Stow-on-Side where their fourth gym battle awaits. As they continued walking, Lana sees a Silicobra, sleeping on the side of the path; near it were two members of Team Yell.
"Those two better not be bothering that Silicobra." muttered Lana.
"What a cute Silicobra." said the male Team Yell member.
"Just look at those adorable eyes." said the female Team Yell member.
"It's our duty as Team Yell to make sure Silicobra gets a nice, peaceful sleep!" said the male Team Yell member.
"If they don't want to disturb Silicobra, then they should keep it down." muttered Lana. Just then, an elderly woman walks past the group and up to Team Yell.
"Hello there; if I promise not to wake that Pokemon, will you let me through?" asked the woman.
"Of course! It'd be our pleasure." said the male Team Yell member. They stepped aside and allowed the woman to walk by them. Just then, Hop arrived.
"Hey, Hop." said Lincoln.
"Hey, guys." Hop replied in a neutral tone. He turned towards the Team Skull members. "Oi, Team Yell; Don't suppose you'll let me and my friends through?"
"Nah, you kids are way too loud!" replied the male Team Yell member.
"Look who's talking." said Lana.
"Can't be letting you all through." said the male Team Yell member. "An' we're particularly not fond of kids wearin' the Challenge Band!"
"With all your stompin' around, Silicobra is sure to wake up." said the female Team Yell member.
"If all your yelling doesn't wake it up first." replied Lana.
"If we don't get past these guys, we won't be able to continue our Gym Challenge on Stow-on Side." said Hop.
"And they'll probably wake up Silicobra." said Lana. "Let's battle these guys."
"You kids are way too noisy; you don't want to wake up Silicobra, do you?" asked the female Team Yell member.
"Look who's talking." said Sam.
"I swear, kids these days." said the male Team Yell member. "Well, we've got no choice; we'll send you packin'!" Lana stepped towards the male Team Skull member while pulling out a pokeball while the Team Skull member does the same.
"Stunky, go!" said the male Team Skull member, throwing a pokeball and releasing a purple, skunk-like Pokemon.
"What's that?" asked Luna, pulling out her Rotom Phone and pointing it at the Pokemon.
"Stunky, the Skunk Pokemon. If it lifts its tail and points its rear at you, beware. It's about to spray you with a fluid stinky enough to make you faint." said Luna's Rotom Phone.
"I got to catch one of those one of these days." said Lana. "Sandaconda, go!" She tosses Sandaconda's pokeball and releases her.
"Stunky, use Bite!" said the male Team Yell member. Stunky runs at Sandaconda and bites her, dealing damage, and making her flinch. "Now use Fury Swipes!" Stunky repeatedly scratches Sandaconda.
"Sandaconda, use Dig!" said Lana. Sandaconda digs herself into the ground. Stunky looks around for Sandaconda when she bursts out of the ground and rams Stunky, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Use Bite!" said the Team Yell member. Stunky runs at Sandaconda and bites her, dealing damage, but not making her flinch.
"Sandaconda, Headbutt!" said Lana. Sandaconda leaps at Stunky and rams it with her head, knocking to the ground, unconscious. "Way to go, Sandaconda." The Team Yell member returned Stunky to its pokeball; he puts it away, and pulls out another one.
"Linoone, go!" said the male Team Yell member, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Linoone. "Linoone, use Hone Claws!" Glowing red claws come out of Linoone's paws and it becomes surrounded by an orange aura.
"Sandaconda, Bulldoze!" said Lana. Sandaconda slams the top half of her onto the ground, sending shockwaves at Linoone that hits it, dealing damage to it.
"Linoone, Take Down!" said the male Team Yell member. Linoone charges at Sandaconda and rams her, knocking her back; Linoone receives recoil damage from Take Down.
"Sandaconda, Dig!" said Lana. Sandaconda digs herself into the ground. As Linoone was looking around, Sandaconda bursts out of the ground and rams it, knocking it out. "Yeah!" The Team Yell member drops to his knees and returned Linoone to its pokeball; she throws pokedollars at Lana's feet and she picks them up.
"Great job, Lana." said Lincoln.
"You showed that punk." said Lola. The female Team Yell member stepped forward while pulling out a pokeball; Ronnie Anne stepped forward.
"Let me take this one on." said Ronnie Anne, pulling out a pokeball.
"Go get her." replied Lana; she returns Sandaconda to her pokeball and walking to the rest of the group.
"Liepard, go!" said the female Team Yell member, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Liepard.
"Go, Larvesta!" said Ronnie Anne, throwing Larvesta's pokeball and releasing her.
"Liepard, Fake Out!" said the female Team Yell member. Liepard runs at Larvesta and stops a couple feet from her; it claps its paws together, releasing a shockwave that hits Larvesta, damaging her and making her flinch. "Now use Fury Swipes!" Liepard repeatedly scratches Larvesta with its claws, damaging her.
"Use Flame Wheel!" said Ronnie Anne. Larvesta curls into a ball and becomes covered in fire; she rolls towards Liepard and rams her, knocking her back. Liepard becomes covered in fire.
"Liepard's burned." said Clyde. Liepard flinches in pain from its burn and loses some stamina.
"Assurance!" said the female Team Yell member. Liepard charges at Larvesta and rams her, knocking her back.
"Leech Life!" said Ronnie Anne. Larvesta jumps at Liepard and bites it, dealing super effective damage; energy is drained from Liepard and into Larvesta, healing some of her wounds. Liepard loses some more stamina from her burn.
"Assurance again!" said the female Team Yell member. Liepard rams Larvesta, knocking her to the ground; she gets back up.
"Bug Bite!" said Ronnie Anne. Larvesta jumps at Liepard and bites her, dealing super effective damage to it. Liepard flinches from her burn and it collapses to the ground, unconscious. "Whoot whoot! Awesome job, Larvesta!" The female Team Yell member returned Liepard to its pokeball and throws pokedollars to Ronnie Anne.
"Silicobra might wake up after that ruckus." said the female Team Yell member.
"There's no point of sticking around here." said the male Team Yell member. "Let's get out of here; we'll make these bothersome kids holler some day." The Team Yell members turned and ran off.
"Man; you two worked very well together with your Pokemon." said Hop.
"Thanks." replied Ronnie Anne.
"Hey, Hop; we heard about your battle with that Bede jerk; you okay?" asked Lincoln.
"Yeah; Bede really wiped the floor with me in our battle." replied Hop. "Don't get me wrong, I can take a loss; battling means you've got to lose sometimes." Hop then looks down. "But he said I was dragging Lee's good name through the mud, being rubbish like I was; I can't get those words out of my head."
"Man; that Bede is a total jerk!" said Ronnie Anne.
"If I'm weak, then people will think Lee's weak." said Hop. "I don't want that. I can let Lee's name get dragged down; he's the unbeatable champion. I'm going to need some time figuring it out; see you guys later." He then begins running down Route 6.
"I hope he'll be all right." said Leni.
"I'd like to take Bede down in another battle." said Lincoln.
"Me, too." said Lucy from behind Lincoln, scaring him.
"Well, let's be on our way then." said Clyde.
The group starts to walk down Route 6 and immediately hear some rustling from some nearby grass.
"What's that?" asked Leni. She got her answer when a bipedal birdlike Pokemon with a blue green masklike marking on its face with an orange blaze on its forehead and red-tipped beak, green wings, and a white body; leaps out and strikes a pose.
"What's that?" asked Ronnie Anne with interest as she points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Hawlucha, the Wrestling Pokemon. It always strikes a pose before going for its finishing move. Sometimes opponents take advantage of that time to counterattack." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"I...want...this...Pokemon!" said Ronnie Anne. "It's like a luchador wrestler!"
"Then catch it." said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne nods as she takes out her Luxray's pokeball and releases him from it.
"Luxray, use Spark!" said Ronnie Anne. Luxray's body becomes coated in electricity as he charges towards the Hawlucha; its eyes suddenly glint and it dodges, then turns around, grabs Luxray by his waist, and does a suplex, driving both of them into the ground, damaging both at once.
"That must be Submission!" said Lincoln.
"Well, we won't give up!" said Ronnie Anne. "Try Thunder Shock!" Luxray gets up and zaps Hawlucha with a jolt of electricity, doing super effective damage.
"Keep it up, Ronnie Anne!" said Lana. The Hawlucha reacts by striking Luxray with one of its wings, not doing a lot of damage.
"Luxray, use Tackle!" said Ronnie Anne. Luxray charges at Hawlucha and slams into it, sending it flying into a cliff wall, leaving it in a dazed state. Ronnie Anne then takes out an empty pokeball and tosses it at the Hawlucha, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Ronnie Anne!" cheered Leni.
"Woot, wooot! I caught Hawlucha!" said Ronnie Anne. As her new Pokemon's pokeball disappears to storage, she looks up its information on her Rotom Phone. "This says my new Hawlucha is a girl, she knows Tackle, Hone Claws, Wing Attack, Detect, Aerial Ace, Encore, Feather Dance, Submission, and Bounce; plus she has the Limber ability which makes it so she can't be paralyzed."
"Gonna put it on your team?" asked Luna.
"You have to ask?" replied Ronnie Anne as she takes out her Rotom Phone and uses it to swap her Foongus for her new Hawlucha.
"Let's get going." said Lincoln.
The group continues to walk down Route 6 towards their next gym battle. What other things will they see as their Galar adventures continue?
