On the Island after being defeated by Kirby,Dedede found a strange piece on the ground. He was confronted by Meta Knight and his fellow Warriors,who has 5 more pieces. They claimed that the seven pieces cannot be fallen to the wrong hands. Dedede begun to tell a lie about Kirby having the seventh piece.
In Dreamland,Kirby enjoys being respected as a Hero by the Dreamlanders. In the Human World,Adeleline uses the sparkling Star to visit Kirby. Their reunion was interrupted by the Meta Knights. Kirby and Adeleline manage to escape.
The two learned about the pieces of the Star Rod that was a legendary artifact that powers the Fountain of Dreams and causes the water to flow from it,giving good dreams and restful sleep to the people of Dream Land until the Fountain was corrupted by Nightmare. The people decided to shatter the rod into seven pieces and figure a way to hide them.
They soon realized that the piece is in the Museum. Dedede and Meta Knight soon learned that Kirby and Adeleline are headed to the Museum. Dedede sends in Paint Roller. By the Kirby and Adeleline arrived and found the seventh piece,They are attacked by Paint Roller. The distractions allows the Meta Knights to take the piece. Kirby inhaled Paint Roller's Paintbrush to transform into Paint Kirby. He paints a rocket to blow up Paint Roller.
Kirby calls out Warp Star to pursue them. Adeleline paint a Sword for Kirby so he can transform into Sword Kirby. He fought off against the Knights and confronts Meta Knight. After getting overpowered by him,He notice that Dedede placed the Star Rod from the pieces he puts back together,onto the Fountain,releasing Nightmare. Meta Knight realized that he has been fooled.
Kirby and Meta Knight decided to work together. Kirby fought with Dedede while Meta Knights fights with Nightmare. The Knights gets overpowered and one of them was killed. After Kirby defeats Dedede,He inhales the Star Rod to become Star Rod Kirby and finally destroys Nightmare.
The Dreams had finally returns to Dream Land. Meta Knight thanked Kirby and departs on the Halberd.

Dedede was drifted in space where he was picked up by Master Hand.
