This is a more slice of life story. Just for fun and learning thanks for reading.

I do not own Stardew valley but I love the characters.

Hope you enjoy it.

I turned jojamart into a superstore then just a food place, also I added cars and changed some basics, sorry if that bothers you.

I was out of my house for the first time in a month or so, I came with my old pink haired friend Macy, we met in high school and her boyfriend. When we ran into Nora, a dark skinned pretty long haired beauty that treats men like her personal bank. Cassie a blonde boy crazy women. They were fun to hang out with, funny and wild. Best to drink with.

A night with them is never boring.

We danced, drank and laughed for an hour when Macy went home with her boyfriend leaving me with them. I Sipped my drink at the bar alone while the two girls went to the bathroom.

Nora tapped my shoulder in the packed bar. "Come." I downed my drink and happily followed her out of the bar, Cassie was leaning on a pretty car with three older men. "We got a ride." She laughed and ran closer to them and the expensive car.

They looked okay but they made me nervous. I am not a one night stand person, I am not like them with men but I followed quietly. "We are going to their place to continue the party." Cassie yelled as she slid into the back seat and two men got in the front.

"Look I am going home." I spoke to Nora who stood next to me needing to bail at the way they looked at us.

"Come." She grabbed my hand and dragged me to the car, I followed thinking I was over reacting and not wanting to start a fight. Just go along with it, last time we wound up in a arcade it was fun.

"Slide over." She yelled to Cassie who did and Nora sat down when the third man took the last back seat. I looked in and they pointed to the lap of the skinny man I don't know, he smiled up at me with this creepy look in his eye's looking at my chest as I was bent over.

"I am just going home." I stepped back to call a cab.

"Fine." Cassie spoke rudely. "We are taking her home." She yelled to the driver. "Get in." She waved at me. I wanted to sit on them but they would not let me so I climbed onto the strange mans lap.

I was a little out of it and just wanted to go home, I hated my life as we drove off.

Why did I get in?

The girls whispered and giggled staring at us, looking at me like I was about to be with this guy. They are setting me up. I was uncomfortable as he shifted under me, my head bumping the ceiling and his hand rubbing my leg so hard it hurt. He does not know how to do that right. I needed to get out.

I noticed they were not even going towards my home at all, I looked for an escape.

"Hey." I spoke pissed off at everyone in the car but hiding it with a smile. "Stop at this store."

"Ya, more drinks." Cassie yelled.

"Let's get snacks." The man yelled below me vibrating on my back. "And some protection." All the men laughed as he sneezed my leg and it hurt. The car was loud and the man shifted into my back making me want to hit him in the face with my elbow.

It took everything to not jump out.

Panic in me I could not breath.

I jumped out and moved into the store so fast, the girls behind me giggling about the men. We paused looking at the alcohol section. "What do I want." Nora spoke. "Hey you guy's are paying." She yelled to the men who were no where near us.

"I don't like this. Let's go." I said.

"Your stupid they are hot." Cassie spoke picking up some Vex.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

Nora was swaying to the music. "Somewhere fun, come on don't be a buzz kill." Cassie laughed. Why am I even with these girls. I am not only scared I'm pissed. I used that moment to sneak out the door and walk with speed down the block to the best burger place to go to on a night out.

I ordered a burger, onion rings and then ordered a cab and sat down to eat. I watched the dark road bustling with people feeling safe now.

After I got in the cab for home I noticed they never even texted me at where I went. I was having such a good night too.

I unlocked the door to our semi home I shared with my mom. One bedroom with a basement for me, two bathrooms. A decent place. The t.v was blaring the tv show Vikings my mom loves, she was passed out on the couch in her nurse clothing.

She dealt with old people in there homes. cleaning, bathing, getting medication.

I slid a blanket over her and headed down to my space, after a quick shower and p.j's I popped on a PC game and ate some chips feeling better.

I woke up to my mom shuffling in the closet of crap and pulling out a box, I sat up rubbing my eye.

"Sorry I need to find some mail." I nodded laying back down, she kind of make a mess with holding onto everything, she just puts them in boxes. "I need." She made a noise. "Oh I wondered where this went." She tossed it on the floor to keep out. "Here it is." She stood up, stared down and squatted again pulling out a package carefully.

She looked into it and stared sadly, almost like she was going to cry.

Her hand over her face and closed it. "What?"

"It is the deed and note from my dad." The man that died a little while ago? I never met him. "Deed to his farm, I was so pissed when I got this a few years ago, so angry he was pushing it on me again."

"Oh ya, he lived on a farm? What happened to it?" I sat up flinging my blanket off me and standing up.

"It is there, waiting for me." She sighed, I sadly walked over and looked at the note and deed. The note was sweet and a little sad. She looked at me with a weird light in her eye's and slid the package into my hands. "I told myself I would never go back to that place." She smiled at me. "It is yours."

"Ha what would I do on a farm."

"Ya to see you dig in dirt would be comical." She laughed back. "Without your computer you would die."

"Ya I would."

"Very, very, old school out there." She laughed and headed towards the stairs. "He did not have a single electronic." I looked at the page with guilt to not even know him. I felt like an asshole at his sweet letter that he even mentioned my name.

"It was a two way street." She spoke to me and I looked up at her. "He could have come here too." She was halfway up the stairs and came down excited. "What if you sold it and got real money for you to go back to school, get a real job."

I nodded. "Actually, that sounds nice." I only went for one year because I ran out of money, I will not get a loan, they suck, my mom is in so much debt. It is a horror story to me. I slid it on my desk and went to make coffee.

"Ya I want pink and red thongs." I nodded looking at all the undies on the bottom row at my job for this 60 year old women. "Okay try them on." I was startled as I was squating looking and her foot that was now in my face.

"Um, sorry?" I was shocked, does she want me to put a thong on her?

"Sorry." She mocked. "Just put them on!"

"Mam." I stood up annoyed. I already dealt with three Karen's today and now this. "That is not my job."

"Yes it is. Put. them. on."

"No." I put the three panties in her hand. "No." I shook my head stepping back done, I waved at her as I walked away.

"Hey get back here." Nope. I started to jog before her slow ass see's where I went. I shook my head to hide wondering towards the shoes, high shelves.

I walked onto a large women with the famous haircut. No not again. I spun trying to find another place to hide. "Excuse me." No! I screamed in my head.

"Yes." I smiled at her spinning around I would not be surprised if I looked half crazy.

"Can you help me get this on." I looked at some pretty stiletto's she was holding, then I looked at her foot. No sock, very long yellow nails, so dirty. I am done. I am done.

I hate even clean feet so much I cringe and this, oh this.

I walked away. I am done for today.

I walked to see the first lady pointing at me yelling to my manager, when the one behind me now started yelling for a manager for making her feel ugly. My manger looked at me disappointed and I knew it right there.

I took off my smock and placed it on the desk where the undie lady smugly looked at me like she won. "Am I fired?" He nodded sadly. I just nodded back went behind the desk grabbed my backpack and left.

Ah it felt like I just got wings and flew away from this place. I danced a little out the store spinning and smiling at the undie lady who then looked at me confused and defeated.

"Bye Frank."

"See you." He smiled at me, he was cool.

I leaned on the kitchen counter eating a bowl of ice-cream while dumping water into one of her many green plants, I sometimes take care of them and the herbs. She loves plants.

"What are you going to do now?" My mom was a little pissed. "I can hold the bills for a little while alone but you need a plan." I nodded as she ranted at me. "Where are you going, what are you doing. That job was easy." She paced. "You quit everything, school, boxing, that coffee shop, that time at the parking garage." She looked at me angry. "You are 23 come on."

I wanted to say this time I was fired but I feel that makes it worse.

She kept going when she sighed rubbed her head. "I have to go." She grabbed her bag. "Figure it out." I ignored the bad feeling inside me at being yelled at, the shame. I feel like a child right now.

I sat down at my computer and started up a game feeling lazy but I don't care, give myself a couple days of freedom. I spotted the deed and note and pulled it to me as the music from the game came on.

I looked at the deed and closed my computer game googling Pelican town. There was nothing there. A small town a few hours away so small they don't even have a map of the area. No real information, no news. It was somewhere along the ocean, that was interesting.

I have never seen the ocean.

The train seat was comfortable and squishy. It was me, a couple lone men and a group of women in this railcar. I was never on a train before, I have barely left the city before. My mother told me this was a tiny hick town of gossip and small minded people and I should just do this from a far but I had no job. Why not go.

I had one large suitcase and a large tote purse knowing I will only be there for about a week. Get a look at it, put it up for sale and have a vacation. I pulled out a chocolate bar and watched the tree's fly by loving the forest being so different then the lifeless city.

"Okay he will be at the hotel on fifth." I heard and peered at the women.

"We are gong to destroy him." Two women spoke to the third. I started listening in and they are going to surprise her husband that was on a 'work trip' I smiled looking them over in there late thirties.

I almost wanted to miss my stop just to follow them and their hate to see what happens to the cheating husband.

"Pelican town next stop." Buzzed through with static.

Just to make sure I pulled out the note making sure that was my stop when the world around me got dark. I peeked out the window as we passed through a deep cave. The light came back and the train slowed down.

I stepped out alone onto an old wooden station. All stone surrounded me. I had to wait for the train to move to go anywhere else.

I leaned on the wall and it started up after a minute and drove away down another closed in cave. The place was all dirt and overgrown grass. There hidden in the land taking it over was an abandoned building with the word pool on it.

It made me feel nervous, the train is gone. unsure when it comes back.

I feel I walked into the end of world movie.

Coming out of that area scared me even more. I stood alone in a forest. Three main paths to go and one man made one through some bushes.

There was no sign, nothing.

The cold wind made me shiver and I wrapped my sweater tighter. I headed straight. The path curved slightly downward I felt lost and alone when I heard a noise, I walked a little farther and I stood at a cliff where I could stand on the roof someone's home.

Relief hit me and I walked around down the steep hill and around a fence coming to a man in front of an open garage on this very large and old looking home. It was stunning snuggled into the land around it like a hobbit hole. I was behind him as he tinkered with a pretty black motorcycle.

He was fully dressed black with black hair lightly blowing in the wind.

I was lost so I decided to talk to him, maybe he can tell me where to go.

"Spring is here, fixing it up to ride?" He jumped bumping his head on his handlebars looking at me startled. "Oh sorry." I laughed. He stared shocked and confused at me as he looked me over. His face was pretty with a small five o clock shadow, his hair hung low to one side and the only ear I could see had a few piercing's.

Damn, I do love a man in black.

He just stayed quiet looking like I was a ghost. "So I am looking for meadow grove farm?"

He stood up wiping a hand on a rag. "Go back the way you came and head west you wont miss it." His voice was deep and husky but he sounded bored throwing me off. First local and he is hot. His sweater was pushed up his arms and they were nice.

"Thank you." I smiled and turned around. I peeked back to him and he was looking at his bike and I checked him out once more, no harm. Nice. I walked around blocking my good view and headed back up with a shy smile.

My joy faded the longer I walked, I sighed ignoring my screaming feet and mind and listened to the area. Nothing but birds and bugs. The wind blowing the best smells into my nose, clean air and no pee, flowers and pine tree's along with dirt.

The dirt road was a little bigger then one car but not a soul passed me.

It curved around and started to go into a hill again, this town must be snuggled into a mountain. I could not see passed the thick large tree's so I was not sure.

I wish I had a car, all I had at home was my moms SUV. My crap broke down five months ago, I was saving for a new pretty model so I got some money on me, my last job was in walking distance so I did not need one right now.

The road curved and two paths came up, the overgrown one had bad grass but I could see the tire marks of the road. Above it was a large sign with the name on it. I smiled ready to fall down and relax in my space for a while.

It again curved and was another minute walk, I came to a large open area of dirt, a silo to the right behind a large barn and a broken down building, the ground mostly all dirt. To the left was a decent sized cabin looking in good shape.

There was garbage and beer can's everywhere as I walked to the front door. I looked around and I had my own personal forest, overgrown grass and broken tree's. Uneven ground and a tiny pond the size of a plastic pool with so much floating trash making me frown but a little clean and it would be amazing out here.

I dropped my stuff and sat down on the old graying porch steps. My ass sunk and the wood cracked and I fell and screamed before jumping up and looking at the weather worn steps. I rubbed my hair and stepped over them.

The porch was fine and sturdy mumbling to my self annoyed my eyes moved from the stairs to the pretty wooden and warn door.

It was slightly open worrying me.

I creaked it open and the smell hit me first as I stared into darkness. Smell of old man, beer and somthing else, I let the door fly open and I reached for a light. I felt up the wall like a bad date when I found it. They took a second but the lights came on.

There across from me was a huge beautiful brick fireplace, two doors on both sides of it and an open kitchen to the left. One door looking into a small and ugly dark red colored bathroom. A bedroom to the right was just a large arc with no door and a tiny little bed I could see from here.

Other then the dirt the main floors were a nice warm wood, the ceiling was all wood. It was really cute if I painted the kitchen and bathroom and gave a good clean to the tiles.

There was a small desk with papers and books on the floor, and a broken table with two chairs in the kitchen corner.

I kicked away some garbage and sat down on the dirty floor needing a break just looking around. Open cans of food, beers. Torn books like someone used them to light a fire. Such a mess.

My heart dropped at him living like this.

Was he like a massive alcoholic? Where is a couch? What did he do all day with nothing in here?

I looked around from the tiny stove and dirty fridge, the bed with blanket's that looked disgusting. The second door was a small pantry with a washing machine and dryer.

First I pulled the bad smelling blankets and tossed them into the washing machine. I dreaded sleeping in them. There was only washing powder, I never use this kind so I put some and then more and maybe to much before I stared at all the dials and buttons lost for a good few minutes.

When I heard the water start to fill I smiled and felt proud to do something. "Got it" I patted it like it was a friend. I walked outside to breath before opening all the small windows to air it out with nowhere to sit and nothing to do I started to clean a little.

I noticed a half fallen down map on the wall above the desk, I unstuck the tac and looked at it kicking another beer can away. It was a old map of what I think is Pelican town. I sat on the table along with a couple papers and looked at it.

There was a scratched off area across some river, another in the other corner, I could not tell how big this farm was or where things were but I did get the main town was east from here, I think. Peering outside there was another path that direction, an old road covered in more tall grass. A few nats flying around it.

I shut the door and headed that way with my wallet in my bra and my hands in my pockets. The air colder and foggy and felt like rain. After ten minutes down the dirt path I worried I was going the wrong way but I continued on, might be longer then getting to the farm in the first place.

After another little while I came to a bus stop and a fork in the road but this time it had one of them old wooden signs pointing you in the right direction. It was another ten minutes when I hit cobblestone road.

The town surrounded a large cobblestone area, places around it. A general store, a clinic and a big building with the word Saloon over it. It looked built decades ago but in great condition. A space with over grown grass like you could build a small building. They need some parks and rec or something for these small things.

I spotted a young couple walking and laughing, she was so pretty with her long blonde hair as they walked out of view and a few kids running bringing me peace to the area. The black lights that surrounded were cute I bet it was nice at night.

But I stood here not seeing a place to eat. I don't know if the dirty stove works but I guess food from the store is where I need to be. I shuffled to it quickly as the wind picked up.

"Who are you?" A deep old voice spoke, I spun around and looked south before he made an amused noise and turned completely around to find some old man leaning on the clinic wall next to the door.

How did I not see him, he blended in. He was missing a couple teeth with an old man hat and suspenders kind of what I pictured in my head when I thought of the grandpa I never met.

"Um hi." I smiled.

"I am the mayor, Lewis, welcome to our tiny town don't see many victors out here." I felt nervous like I was doing something wrong and possibly unwelcome.

"I am just here to take a look at my grandpas farm, just clean it up and put it up for sale."

He looked shocked and looked me over. "Adalyn?" Confusing me at him knowing my name. "I have not seen you since you came to my knee." He walked closer. "Look at you, how old are you now?"

He knows me?

"Twenty three." He nodded.

"Time goes fast." He looked around and I saw the tail end of some fat man in suit walking east down a road, he eyed him over with distain and worry before he looked at me even more worried. I looked between him and that man confused.

There was anger and beef at the way he looked and spoke. "Do me a favor if that is why your here. Do not sell to him, is trying to take over everything in this town and change it. Lose our charm." He then looked at me and his face softened. "Please."

It was quiet for a moment and I nodded as I looked at where the large man was, this place is cute. "So where can I eat?"

"The bar has good food, the store has what you need." He patted my shoulder and walked away towards the store. I looked to the large building and smiled moving quickly so hungry.

I moved to pull the heavy door but when it was whipped open from the inside, my hand gripping the handle I almost fell into the man in front of me. He blocked my one arm and slightly nudged me away as I caught my balance and shuffled around me like I did not exist. "Sorry." I said as he stepped down the steep couple of stairs.

I looked back as he walked away without a word or a look, no need to say sorry blue jacket man.

Some top 20 music was playing from a juke box. There was a drunk older blonde women at the end of the bar swinging back and forth on her swivel stool bopping her Karen haircut to the beat. A blonde guy my age with crazy hair playing some old school arcade game near a nice pretty pool table.

Cozy.

I grabbed the first seat at the end of the front of the bar, A blue haired girl my age was looking at me with interest as she handed me a Menu. There was barely anything on this menu.

Pizza, special salad, hot dogs, spaghetti, eggs and bacon, chicken strips. No burger sadly, I could use one, that was what I was craving.

"Gus, two beers." A pretty male voice spoke and slammed his hand next to me and I looked up at the blonde man as he hovered kind of close but was looking down on me with the same interest as the blue girl.

He then smiled at me, a smile brighter then his hair. His eye's scanned mine. "Nice." Huh?

Gus slid two beers down the bar and grabbed it with a weirdly hot skill. He leaned closer to me startling me and looked right at Gus so I did. "Don't go for the pizza, it is microwaved and not worth the price."

I frowned looking at the menu. "Damn that was what I was going to get."

"Figured." He smiled this bright and perfect smile that drew me into him. "Sam." He stuck his hand out and sipped his beer.

"Adalyn." He looked curious as I shook awkwardly.

"Gus." He yelled as everyone turned to him. "Get her your famous salad." He smiled. "You will thank me, he makes the best mushrooms oddly enough." He then walked off towards the pool table where a purple haired girl was laying over a chair reading something.

"Sam, do you think this would look right on me." She yelled not looking up and waved around some page I could not see clearly.

"No, Nothing looks good on you." I heard and she sat up angry and looked at him. She was so cute and then tossed the book at him and he dodged before handing her a beer. I just smiled at them and turned back to who I believe is Gus.

These people are friendly.

I thought I was going to make it home but halfway the rain started to spit, I tried to speed up but by the time I got home I was soaked. The roads were muddy, the thunder cracked in the dark sky making the tree's blow around it was a downpour so cold but oddly so peaceful.

I stood in the mud outside getting used to the cold as I faced the sky and closed my eye's. I started to walk and check out the barn. It took a bit to get the old stuck doors open and I looked into a dark place filled with enough stuff it would be on hoarders.

"Shit." This is work.

Lightning flashed making me jump and feel nervous being in a dark barn in a weird forest with this storm but that made me notice that many boxes with my moms name. I pulled out the light on my phone and looked around.

Peeking out behind a tarp with my cell phone flashlight there was a large tire attached to something I wanted at. I tried to pull, even put all my weight in it that if it came loose I would be on my ass but nothing moved.

Once I got back inside the cabin I tossed the blankets in the dryer and ditched my soaked clothes to hang over the broken kitchen table. I was just in my undies and I peeked out the door, I really am alone. I grabbed the only working chair and slid outside sitting on it dry under the porch roof.

I lit a smoke as the slight dust of rain hit me and the smell of wet dirt and grass was just the best.

I jumped into the ground after my smoke and danced in the mud feeling free. I slipped and fell and my undies got soaked and it felt odd having mud in those places.

I jumped up almost slipping again before I took the large step over the broken steps back on the porch feeling that I could be a nudist out here.

I have not felt this free in so long but I was cold now so I went back in.
