Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto
Naruto's body crashed through the stone wall, being knocked through it as he had been struck with a powerful blow that had sent him flying into the wall and had broken through it due to the impact of him colliding into it.
He fell and tumbled feeling stones and debris falling onto his body. His body slowly came to a stop as he winced feeling the searing pain that he was in. Naruto's body had a gaping hole in his center, from the piercing wound that he had just received. That of The Chidori slamming into his body just now, nearly hitting his heart as blood was shown pouring out of him.
Slowly, he opened his eyes, despite the agonizing pain that he was in. As though his entire body was burning as part of his clothes where he had been hit had been burned out from the attack and his flesh was shown searing with marks on them.
Breathing hard he tried to get his surroundings as he looked on.
He looked on and saw that the cave was not unoccupied.
He noticed that in it was a group of statues. Several different looking statues were in the cave with him.
There was three of them, that were human sized but they had traits and features that weren't human.
The first, the tallest of them was of a Dragon. Fierce and remorseless on its face with its maw opened wide. The second, was what appeared to be Avian, as it had feathers sticking out from behind it's back. The third, was a Tortoise, a keen look on its face.
There was also a fourth statue as well it appeared next to them, but there was only a pile of rocks there as though it had been shattered long ago. Naruto gave them no thought as he looked at the hole that he had been knocked through as he saw someone standing there looking on.
Naruto looked and saw Sasuke staring at him outside with no emotion in his eyes before he then turned and started to walk away. Turning his back on him as he departed.
"No! Sasuke, get back here!" Naruto said as he struggled to stand. "Come... come back here! I...I won't let you leave!" He said as he tried to will his body and force it to go. His vision was blurry but he fought through the pain.
He held a hand to his stomach and chest area, as it was covered in blood as he was bleeding out. He ignored the searing pain that he was in as he walked by the statues.
Unknown to him, as he passed by them, drops of his blood fell onto the statues as he walked past them.
"Almost...there." He said inbetween sharp gasps of pain as he spat out blood. Just a little further...once he was outside he could stop Sasuke. "C'mon, remember your promise that you made." He said as his vision was becoming more and more blurry with each step. However, he pressed on. He remembered his promise that he had made, the promise of a lifetime that which he was going to keep no matter the cost.
Naruto reached the hole and for a moment it looked like he would be able to do it.
However his body had finally reached it's limit as his legs buckled and slowly his eyes rolled up to the back of his end and he fell backwards, collapsing as he had fainted from the pain.
Naruto laid there on the stone ground, his arms outstreched and not moving. The only sound coming from him was faint gasps of breath due to the severe wound he had received. If they were not tended to, he would die soon.
Unknown to him however; the statues that his blood had spilled on were starting to show cracks in them, small at first but then started to multiply as their fingers and hands were starting to twitch as the eyes on them began to glow.
A crack of thunder was heard as first, The Dragon Statue broke free. Letting loose a great roar from his maw as lightning surrounded him as he towered over all in the cave. His green skin covered by scales as strong as diamonds that no arrow could puncture as he wore armor made out of bones and skulls decorated on them.
A spark of flame then appeared as the Phoenix Statue was seen. Flames engulfed the entire statue setting it aflame. Soon they had subsided and revealed a female figure, clad in red and with orange hair covered by a headband and with five crimson feathers sticking out from her back as the temperature in the room rose from the heat emanating from her.
A cyclone engulfed the last statue, that of the Tortoise. The wind picked up before dispersing and revealed a stout figure clad and wearing a silver shell lined with fur on it. He possessed a mouth filled with teeth that could crush solid stone. On the top of his head he wore a helmet made out of bronze. Strapped to his side was a large gourd.
The Three looked on at their surroundings as they saw that they had been released from their stone prisons.
"We are Free!" The Tortoise Demon exclaimed. "At long last, Suza, Seiyu! We are free!" He said as he looked on a smile on his face. "After all these years we have finally be released!"
"Finally! We can have our revenge on the accursed humans!" The Dragon Demon said with a snarl on his face as his yellow eyes sparked dangerously.
"Yes Gebu, it appears that we are free." The Phoenix Demon said speaking up next. "But not all of us it appears." She noted and looked on at the fourth statue in the room. Gebu, The name of The Tortoise Demon looked on and saw the shattered pieces.
"Our Brother, his body has been destroyed it seems Suza." He said looking on with his dark pupiless eyes.
"What is this human doing here?!" A voice was heard and the two looked and saw their sibling stomping towards the body of a human boy that was on the ground.
"Wretched human," The Dragon Demon said in disgust as he looked down at Naruto a snarl on his face. "Begone from my sight!" He said and lifted up his foot and prepared to crush him underneath.
"Stop Seiyu!" Gebu ordered him before he could. "Do not touch him Brother!" He said as he stepped forward. "This boy...he maybe of usage to us." He said to him as he looked on at Naruto's unconscious body. "Apparently he has somehow freed us," He noted tapping a claw against his maw. "And in doing so, he shall help out Brother as well."
"What are you saying?" Seiyu said in anger.
"Our Brother, Our King's body is destroyed yes, but you both can sense it can you? His spirit still lives on. He needs a host, a vessel so that he can live and walk amongst us again." He told them looking on as he felt their siblings' presence. The three could detect his presence inside the room, he was still alive as despite his body having been destroyed, his spirt had presevered and was alive.
"Suza, use one of your Feathers to stabilize him. He will be dead soon." He ordered his Sister.
"My Feathers?" She said to him a look of disgust on her face. "My Feathers take me a decade to grow each one back, and you want me to use one on this boy?" She said in disbelief. Her Feathers were her most treasured possession, and he wanted her to waste one on this, this human!
"Yes! Now do so! He will die within the hour if you do not. If he is dead than we cannot transfer his spirit into the body, now do so." He commanded her. With a scowl she reached around to her back and plucked one of her treasured feathers from her back and walked over to Naruto's body. Disdainfully, she reached down and placed it onto the gaping hole and wound. The feather disappeared as the blood stopped pouring from him as his breathing became more naturally.
"Good." Gebu said. He had no love for the boy nor did he do it to show mercy. "Now we must take his body and begin the process, for our Sibling to return, he needs to have a body to contain his spirit."
"You would dare to put our King's spirit inside a Human?" Suza, The Phoenix Demon, asked an incredulous look on her face that he would suggest such a thing.
"It is the only way, with his body destroyed he cannot fully return. With your powers of Resurrection that you have, you can seal his spirit into this child's body."
"Why do we need our Brother?" Seiyu demanded to know as the eight foot tall Demon looked on at Naruto's figure "It was because of him that we were imprisoned. We do not need him to rule again!" He declared.
"Seiyu," Gebu said to his sibling. "Only with out Brother are the four of us truly invincible, you know that. We need him back among us if we are to rule once more." He said to The Dragon who let out a low growl.
"Now, we shall return to our home and begin the process."
The group then vanished as they disappeared without a trace. Taking Naruto's body with them as they departed.
A few minutes later, Kakashi was shown, with him several of his Dog Summons that were shown sniffing the ground having arrived to The Valley of The End. He had seen the markings and sights of the battle, deciphering that it was both Sasuke and Naruto's doing. Exposing his Sharingan eye, he could make out what had happened between them. The fighting had been fierce, judging by the remains, one of them had been attacking with killing intent.
"Where is he? Where is Naruto and Sasuke? C'mon, find them." He instructed them as they tried to pick up the scent. One of them suddenly barked getting the others and Kakashi's attention as they had found the cave.
Kakashi entered the cave and he looked and his face turned pale as he saw a spatch of blood on the ground. Next to it, was a hitai-ate with the symbol of The Hidden Leaf Village on it "Oh no, no." He said dread filling his body as he saw it. The Hounds whimpered and whined as they could not pick up anymore traces of him.
Bringing a hand down, Kakashi scooped up the blood and brought it to his face as he examined it. "No..." He said in anguish as this could only mean one thing. "Naruto..." He said as a tear fell out of his lone eye as he dropped to his knees as this could only mean one thing had happened.
He returned to The Leaf Village a somber look on his face. Dreading each and every step that he took that brought him closer to Konoha and what he would have to say to everyone.
When he had at long last made it back, being the last of the group to have returned he found the third member of Team 7 waiting there with them as well as The Godaime. The somber expression on his face told them that something terrible had happened as regretfully he told them what he had found.
Konoha thus only had one option to make, that which The Godaime did so with a heavy heart.
Naruto Uzumaki was declared killed in action; having been slain by Sasuke.
Many were stunned and shocked at the news. Iruka Umino fell to his knees upon hearing the news, all life and energy leaving him that the boy who was like a younger Brother to him was gone.
Shikamaru Nara, feeling shame and responsibility for the loss, had nearly commited seppuku for his failure as Team Leader, in his eyes it was all his fault as to what had happened. As Commander the teams' lives were on his shoulders and he had failed. Having to be stopped by his team and family as killing himself wouldn't change a thing and it would be dishonoring Naruto's memory.
Whilst some felt grief, others felt rage. Rock Lee had been seen in the training grounds angrily striking targets, yelling and screaming in fury as he beat his knuckles bloody and kicking and breaking boards until his legs had gone numb. Blaming himself, if he had just arrived sooner, if he had been stronger when fighting The Sound Nin. He could have helped Naruto. It was his fault that Naruto was dead.
Gaara, The newly elected Kazekage could only offer a prayer hoping that the boy who had brought hope into his life would be at peace.
Teuchi and Ayame had closed their Ramen Shack when they had learned and had hugged each other each weeping for hours into the night over Naruto's assumed passing.
Those most heavily affected was Jiraiya, The Toad Sannin had said nothing after hearing the news of his protege's passing. He had withdrawn himself from the eyes of everyone when he had heard what had happened, disappearing with no one able to know what he was doing, becoming a recluse.
Tsunade, feeling ashamed and disgraceful of what she had done, had prepared to leave Konoha and resume her life traveling from place to place. Wishing that she had never return as her reign had been nothing but a disaster as she would step down as The Godaime.
But just as she was about to leave and exit the village gates, Sakura Haruno confronted her. Her eyes and cheeks were red as she had been crying nonstop for the past two days after what had happened. Blaming herself for the loss of what had happened, as if it wasn't for her in her own eyes. Naruto would still be alive as she had made him promise to bring Sasuke back and he was now dead because of her. Blaming herself, she did not have the strength or the ability to stop Sasuke from leaving. And so like a burden she always felt like, again she had begged Naruto. Begging and pleading Naruto to bring Sasuke back and he had promised he would.
It was all her fault what had happened, because of her weakness. If it wasn't for her, none of this would have happened.
Tsunade had went to move past her as she knew the girl was heartbroken but Sakura stood in her path
Sakura asked, no, she ordered Tsunade to train her. To teach her everything she knew. To train her to become strong that she could avenge Naruto's death. To make Sasuke pay for what he had done. She told Tsunade she would never forgive him for what he had done.
Tsunade however had refused, refused to train her as she was done with The Shinobi life. Seeing it as a utter waste and wanted no more to do with it. This had angered Sakura who confronted her.
"You coward! This is the Legendary Tsunade? A drunkard who hides in the nearest bottle she finds?" She accused her.
In anger, Tsunade plunged her finger into Sakura's chest. Just using that, the force of it sent Sakura flying, she knocked backwards for several feet before she crashed through a tree, breaking it in two.
"Look at the difference of strength between us, you foolish girl!" Tsunade snapped at her. "This is the gap that is before you! You are no more than an ant trying to fight a lion! You have no chance whatsoever of defeating Sasuke! Just, Just give it up! I've learned the hard way that it's pointless to try and change things, so should you!"
Tsunade went to leave when she suddenly felt something grasping her foot. She turned her head and saw to her shock Sakura, having crawled out of the wreckage, despite her body covered in bruises and with blood pouring from her lip. She had crawled out of it and grabbed Tsunade by the ankle stopping her.
"I don't care!" Sakura shouted looking up at her. "I don't care that the gap between us is so large. I will get stronger! I will get stronger I swear!" Sakura vowed. "Train me! Train me so I can get strong enough so that never again will I have to rely on another! That way, what has happened to Naruto will never happen again!" She said to Tsunade her eyes burning with angry tears.
"You can cut off my legs, you can dislocate my shoulders, you can break every bone in my body, it doesn't matter, I will never give up! This is my Ninja Way! I will make Sasuke pay for what he did to Naruto!"
"Vengeance is a sucker's game, you do this and you'll be no better than Sasuke." Tsunade warned her.
"I'm not doing this for Vengeance." Sakura responded. "But for Justice. Justice for Naruto and so that his life and sacrifice wasn't in vain. I will find Sasuke, I swear I will. But I can only do this if you train me! Please Lady Tsunade!"
Tsunade looked on at her, feeling the determination and resolve coming off of her. Sakura stared at her with a look of determination in her eyes that Tsunade had only ever seen once before. In the eyes of Hiruzen Sarutobi.
"Meet me tomorrow at the training grounds at five am sharp." Tsunade said to her after several long moments. "We will start immediately in the morning."
"Yes Sensei!"
"But," Tsunade warned her. "If you are so much as a second late or I feel even once as though you are not giving it your all, I will turn around and leave Konoha and never come back. Do I make myself clear?" She asked her.
Sakura nodded her head in understanding as she stood up. "Understood!" She said to her. Tsunade looked on at her before nodding as well.
Inside a Castle, the remains of several bodies were shown on the floor. Having been slain as all of them were dead.
The Castle which resided in The Land of Demons was ancient, centuries old and towered hundreds of feet. It was in state of rot and decay though due to its age having lost its splendor.
This Castle served as the home and domain beforehand of The Demon Siblings' who had returned and had driven out the inhabitants. Brigands and Missing Nin had taken up occupation in The Castle in the time they had been away. Using it as a hideout and base of operations to hide their loot. They had easily been slaughtered and killed, none of them spared.
"Humans, they multiply like vermin." Seiyu said with a look of disgust at the dead bodies that had dared to occupy their home. "The Three of us are more than capable of ridding the land of them. We do not need our Brother to destroy each and every last one of them! I alone can do that!" He said with a low roar.
"Patience Seiyu," Gebu told him. "Only with the four of us together can we once again rule this entire land." The Tortoise Demon said to The Dragon who scowled. "Suza!" He called out to their Sister who was seen by an altar. "Are we ready?" He said to her.
"It seems that way." The Phoenix Demon responded to him. "I cannot guarantee though that this boy will survive the process. Our Brother's power is so great, that I highly doubt a mere human could survive the process." She told them.
Naruto's body was seen lying on an stone altar. Laying there and not moving. His clothes had been removed as he laid there unconscious, his wound was shown bandaged and covered up. Not out of compassion had they saved his life as they would have left him to die if they didn't need him, but to see to it that he would stay alive for the process to begin.
Suza, The Phoenix Demon stood over him as she had to use one of her Feathers from her back to ensure he would live. She looked on at Naruto with nothing in her eyes. It was only for her Brother's sake was that she was doing this.
Suza began to chant, speaking in a different language, saying multiple words as she did the ritual. Her Brother's were watching on as she attempted to transfer their lost siblings' spirit into the boy.
The altar began to glow black as above, a wave of chakra surrounded over Naruto's body. As she chanted, her voice began to echo all around the castle. Gebu and Seiyu looked on, as they saw the chakra which hovered over the boy's figure.
The stream of chakra then shot into Naruto's body, going inside of him. The chakra went inside him, going in as his body began to glow. Unaware of what was going on or happening to him. Seemingly the chakra went in without end, until finally the last of it entered him. Looking on at him, The Phoenix Demon stared at Naruto's figure. "It is done." She told the others. "Our Brother's spirit is now inside this boy."
"Excellent Sister." Gebu praised her. "When shall he awake?"
"It will take some time for his body to adjust and to regain his strength. I do not know how long." She informed him. "For now we must wait until his strength has fully returned. When it has, he shall awake."
"No matter, time is on our side. We shall wait." Gebu said as the process began.
For three years Naruto's body slept, laying there naked on the altar. He slept and his body grew becoming bigger as the years passed. Lying there and growing stronger as his body was used as a vessel to host the Demon. Watched over by the other Demons who made their preparations.
They had scouted, seeing the new world that was before them that had changed in the hundreds of years since they had been imprisoned. How the Humans ruled now and those who were the strongest.
They had also slaughtered and killed anyone who had dared to venture too close to the castle. Doing so without mercy, so that no one would discover them.
In the days, months and years that followed, Naruto showed no sign of movement or that he was alive. He laid there without so much as a flinch or breath.
"Three years we have wasted," Seiyu said looking on disgust on his face at how nothing had happened in the entire time they had waited. "It is a failure." He said with a spat.
"Wait!" Gebu said to him cautiously stepping forward. "Brother, perhaps more time is needed. The boy's body is changing to adjust to it. Our King's power cannot be so easily transferred and contained. If he hadn't been able to withstood it he would have longed ago died."
"You are a coward who's afarid to fight." Seiyu said as The Dragon summoned forth a great axe that he wielded in one arm effortlessly. "I have no need of this or our Brother, I shall go and conquer the land by myself." He declared and started to leave.
"Impulsive as always Seiyu." A voice suddenly said to the alarm of the three just now. "Always acting without thinking. And that is why I am your King, and you serve me." They looked on in shock and saw Naruto's body on the altar. His fingers twitched and his legs shifted as the body then sat up.
"My Resurrection is fully complete and now I am back." Naruto said as he had opened his eyes.
"Our King." Gebu said and he and Suza hastily knelt before him as Naruto turned his body and placed his feet on the solid stone ground before he stood up standing before them. "King Byako." He said as he bowed.
Naruto looked on at them, coldness in his eyes as he looked on at them.
"For three hundred years I have been sealed away, stuck between the realm of the living and the dead." He told them. Naruto was speaking but a different voice was coming out of him now. The voice of The Demon King, Byako. "My body though has been destroyed, and I am forced to use this human as a vessel!" He said in anger. As he spoke the entire castle began to shake and quake as he clenched his fists in anger. "I, am forced to subside and use a mere human in order to live once more!"
Gebu immediately bowed his head. "Ahhh! Please forgive us! I beg of you! We, We underestimated The Humans who rebelled. We were turned to stone and unable to assist you when they destroyed your body!" He said his body shaking in fear.
"Silence!" Naruto commanded him. "I have no use for any of your pathetic sniveling and whining!" He said in disgust.
"Brother, are you truly back?" Suza asked him daring to raise her head.
"Yes, Sister, I have returned. And now that I have it is time I reclaim my throne." Naruto said to them as he strode forward.
Clothes emerged onto his body, hakama trousers followed up by a shitaga shirt. Armor then appeared on his body. Forged from the strongest materials as black armor linned with gold donned his body as chain mail and a breast plate covered his chest. Greaves appeared on his legs as well as boots as he adorned his outfit, gauntlets covered up his arms and hands as a black cloak made out of fur covered his shoulders. On his right arm appeared a large shield with a sword strapped into it.
"My Siblings," Naruto said to them as he strode forward walking past them. "We once ruled this entire land, all the humans worshipped and feared us lest we slaughter them like sheep. But we let down our guard. Allowed the mortals to seal us away, and they destroyed my original body as well." He said gnashing his teeth together as he growled like a Tiger. "But, we are now free. And now the time has come again for us to rule and remind the humans why they feared us." He said turning around to The Three. "This body is strong and will do as a host for me from hence forth. In the time it took for me to adjust, I have learned much about this body. Our armies will be rebuilt and we shall conquer every last inch of this land and destroy everyone who dares to think they can oppose us." He said as Suza approached him carrying a jar that she presented to him which he then took and reaching in pulled out clay and began to scatter onto the ground.
"The hour is now, the hour is late. Come forth with your power, come forth with your hate." He said as he scattered it onto the ground. "Rise, my Terracota Warriors! My Jiang Shi!" He commanded
A hand then shot up out from the ground before pulling itself up out from underneath. Standing upright was a warrior made out of both rock and clay that was adorned in armor and carrying an axe. Appearing next to it was a being adorned in ceremonial robes with its upper head and eyes covered up by a bandana and a charm on its face. Several more similar beings rose up out of the ground numbering in the hundreds.
"My Tengu!" Naruto shouted and the chamber doors burst open with a gust of wind and in flew two winged beings that perched onto the upper levels of the throne room.
"Nurakabe! Gashadokuro!"
Torches then lit up in the castle, illuminating it as several more emerged from the shadows and crevices. Among them, five beings that wore ceramic masks over their faces as the decay of the castle became undone, restoring itself.
Naruto continued to call out, as several more Demons and beings appeared, heeding his summons as they awakened to serve him.
"The Demon King has returned, and it is time that our adversaries have an audience with me." He declared as a helmet then adorned his head covering his face
