NOTE!
This is a prologue to a longer series and merely want to get a reception of how people will feel. This is the start of Barriss and Jao Ren's first time "meeting" just being born. This is the 1st arc of many but I figured I'd start with their childhood together first. I don't know how long I'll expand it to but enough that a firm and solid relationship can be established between the two. Anyways enjoy the chapter!
A cool but beautiful sunset of vibrant purples, pinks and greens. A distant view of a cold and harsh winter desert perused across the landscape of the blue, icy planet known as Mirial. Mirial had a harsh and very unforgiving geography with only spigots of trees cropping up here and there for the Mirialan species. In the midst of vast icy deserts laid the foundations of cities, towns and villages that were carved from the very foundations of the ground beneath them and if you were fortunate, the trees provided an ample luxury to one's own place of living and comfort.
Whilst these towns and cities were nice, they weren't as great as what was being witnessed in the cold confines of a smaller village off in the "outback" of Mirial. An older woman of Mirialan descent was inside a medical center surrounded by familiar racial doctors as an older female with a crew cut and glasses who wore a white robe was saying, "Push Push!"
The older woman screamed in agony as her face was drenched in sweat and currently had her legs spread wide as she kept pushing. An older mirialan man sat next to her, clutching her hand with his both as he said, "C'mon, my dear! You got this."
She kept pushing and pushing until the small head of a little Mirialan girl was seen popping out from her. Doctor's seeing this opportunity, they went to carefully coax the small baby girl out from her mother as after a few more seconds, she was out. Although something wasn't right at all; the baby was silent. The mother panicked and asked, "Is my little Barriss alright?"
The crew cut, who was the head doctor, felt through the force and saw that the baby was perfectly healthy. She sighed a smile of relief when the doctor informed her, "Ms. Offee. Your child is perfectly healthy just that she is a silent child. Be grateful for that."
Ms. Offee, who looked rather very exhausted, looked at her child with utter love as she looked towards her husband and he smiled as well.
Opposite to the planet before, the sprawling semi-surface city planet known as Corellia was in full bloom. The racing of speeders and bikes roared past highways and through and out buildings as the afternoon sun of Corellia beamed down upon them. So many lives went to so many different places but in one particular hospital, a baby was being born..
Sleek white industrial hospital walls with doctors and nurses making to and thro into several rooms with different labels such as ICU, High dependency, MSP but inside a room of the LDR (Labor, Delivery and Recovery Room) there was a middle-age human woman with long brown and green eyes was dressed in a hospital gown that had been drenched in grim and sweat for hours upon hours now as she laid down on a bed waiting for the time. A human man of the same age sat next to her with his windswept black hair and permeating dark circles under his blue eyes. He was dressed in a simple dirty corellian jumper as he seemingly just got off work and had rushed his way towards the hospital when he had heard the news.
They were currently alone when he had asked, "So how long do you think until our son is born, my dear?"
Feeling her stomach as the baby kicked and seemingly thrashed about, "I feel like our little Jao Ren wants out right now if I'm being frank." adding in a short but serene laugh at the end.
Placing his hand on her stomach as he, too, felt the rumbling from her stomach as an exhausted laugh escaped his lips, "Yea… I am glad my work understood why this was so important to me."
She placed her hand on his, "Oh… honey. Mr. Kibbel has always understood. He, too, has a family to worry about."
He looked lovingly into his wife's emerald green eyes as he held her hand before he caught something out of the corner of his eye: a tickle of water from down under. Surprise entered his eyes swiftly as he straightforwardly looked into his wife's eyes before saying, "Dear, do you feel anything?"
His wife shook her head, "No…? Why should I-" Then she felt it; a mildly popping sensation down under as she uttered, "I-... I think he's coming…"
3 weeks later
On board a Pelta-class frigate were the hundreds of cries of force sensitive children echoing out. Being tended to by an elderly yodian female and a republic nurse droid, there were two children far off in the corner of the ship: A human male with patches of black hair, green eyes and a Mirialan Girl with green skin and oceanic sapphire blue eyes. As their diapers were being simultaneously changed, their stubby arms, albeit far from each other, would reach out to grasp each other as their eyes locked with each other. Figuring no harm in the action, the older yodian female would allow the children's stubby, baby hands to connect as they interlocked and the two children seemingly started laughing together.
The nurse droid, seemingly had never seen such a reaction, asked in her robotic female vocal code, "Ms. Yaddle. Why are the babies reacting like this? It is strange."
The older female Yodian, now identified as Yaddle, chuckled softly as she smiled, "I think these two… well.. I do not want to be presumptuous of the sort but." Holding the mirialan baby, "I see great things coming from both of them, together."
This 1st chapter was always planned to be much shorter than the others in this arc. Like I said, I will be doing their childhood together! Let me know if there's any specific events you would (within reason) like to see. Of course, if you have any feedback for me, I'd greatly appreciate it!
