Chapter eighteen: Nazarick vs. the League of Villains, part four

Over at the bar where the League of Villains made their hideout, Dabi paced back and forth in front of where Todoroki, quirk suppressing handcuffs on his wrists, was bound to a chair. "Shit," Dabi swore as he paced, "Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit. How in the fuck can that creepy idiot Moonfish forget the no killing students rule?! Now the pro heroes are gonna be up our asses quicker than what they normally would have been!"

Todoroki looked shocked as he heard what Dabi said, his widening eyes betraying his worried feelings. "One... one of the students I go to school with was killed... ?"

Beros and Rappa, who both stood behind where Todoroki sat, also gave off worried airs; secretly taking orders from their real boss Ainz, they infiltrated the League of Villains to do recon and report back with what they learned when they could. They worried that the death of a student might be pinned to them and displease their true boss. They had done as told, and neither of them had killed anyone since joining the League of Villains.

But they still worried Ainz will be pissed. Rappa was a little pissed himself given the fact that a minor was killed; he had a soft spot for kids, it's why he betrayed Chisaki when he found out what that prick was doing with Eri. Rappa was hoping he and Beros can spin things so that there's no blame laid on them by Ainz.

"We're going to have to speed up our plans here," Dabi said, "Send the message to society that we want to send. It'll put the people on edge, make them lose faith in the pro heroes who champion them. There's also the added benefit that it'll torment Endeavor, that flaming brick house bastard. But there's still a lot of prep to do, and some of it has to be taken slowly."

Todoroki arched a wry eyebrow, still worried about what it was that Dabi was planning to do with him. "What are you going to do with me?"

Dabi turned to look at Todoroki. "...Didn't you hear me not a few moments ago? We're going to be sending a message."

Later at a meeting of pro heroes, All Might was rallying everyone. "The attack by the League of Villains on the training camp run by the Wild Wild Pussycats is unforgivable," All Might said, "They killed one student, and kidnapped another plus one of the Pussycats' own members. Not only that, but they broke their kidnapped members out of holding and stole the remains of the slain student!"

"Theirs is an evil that has to be stopped!" Best Jeanist declared.

"I'll burn them to cinders for kidnapping Shoto!" Endeavor roared.

After getting the other heroes to settle down, All Might said, "Luckily for us, the surviving students had come up with a brilliant plan that will go a long way to help us bring the League of Villains down. Young Yaoyorozu used her quirk to make a tracking device set and had Young Awase stick the receiver of the set to the nomu the villains bought with them. The nomu went with the villains when they left the training camp to return to where they are hiding out at."

Tapping a fist into her hand, Mt. Lady said, "We can track the villains down to their lair and stop them!"

Stepping forward, a police detective who All Might vouched for, Naomasa, said, "There's at least one location that we ought to consider. A bar that a man reported to look like the Dabi fellow who led the attack on the training camp was seen going into and out of a few times. I have the address here." Naomasa took out a sheet of paper from a folder he was carrying and put it on the table at the meeting of heroes.

All Might picked up the paper, saw the address. "...This isn't where the tracking device said the nomu had gone to."

"Then we'll have to split our forces up into two teams," Edgeshot said, "One to the bar Dabi was reported to frequent, and the other to where the tracking device is leading. Given the situation, we cannot afford to take risks."

Endeavor growled in frustration. "I'll be part of the team sent to Dabi's Bar. That's bound to be where the villains are keeping Shoto!"

"Oh yeah, it's your son who the villains kidnapped," Edgeshot said, "And I think that one of the surviving students said the villains specifically targeted your son for kidnapping in order to make things something of a personal attack against you."

"Why not try making it a personal attack against All Might?" Mt. Lady asked, "I mean, he's the number one hero in the country."

All Might scowled. "Those villains invaded a training camp where the future of Japan's pro hero society was supposed to be safe. They killed one student, kidnapped another plus a pro hero." In a very rare instance, All Might frowned rather than smiled. "Their actions are a personal attack against me. Or at least I consider their actions as such."

The heroes did more deliberation before settling on a game plan to take down the villains and rescue Todoroki from their evil clutches. But little did the heroes know that another party was also planning to help speed up the rescue process. A party of such vast power that not even the League of Villains with their full total might can stand up to.

A party headed by Ainz Ooal Gown, the Sorcerer King.

Over at where the bar the League of Villains is located at, Dabi and his men were setting up so that they could carry out their plan to wound the pride of pro hero society as well as deepen the wound made in the personal attack launched on the Flame Hero. As they were setting up, they heard a knock at the front door of the bar. "...The hell?" Spinner said as he heard the knocking, "Hey Beros, can you check that? You're closest to the door."

Nodding once, Beros with her mask and hood lowered went to the door and answered it. There, Beros saw two long haired girls dressed in maid outfits with some degree of armor integrated into the outfits. These maids, only Beros and Rappa would know, are some of the combat maids who their real boss said worked for him. But what they're doing here is beyond Beros.

She recognized the one with long orange hair as Shizu Delta, and the one next to her pulling a foldable wagon could only be described as a pallet swap of Shizu, replacing the traditional camo print colors on Shizu's outfit with light blue and white colored camo prints, resembling an icy theme. The pallet swap of Shizu also had long icy blue hair, and her one exposed eye (both of the maids wore eyepatches) was icy blue.

Gesturing to herself, Shizu said, "Hello, my name is Shizu Delta." Gesturing to her pallet swap, Shizu went on, "And this is my autistic cousin, Kinoko Roku." Shizu lowered her hand. "Kinoko's school is running a fundraiser to try to earn money to send her special needs class on a field trip, and I am assisting her with her efforts. Would you be interested in buying some cookies?"

Kinoko held out a clear plastic bag containing cookies, each iced so they were each half red and half white. "These are strawberry-vanilla iced shortbread cookies," Kinoko said.

Beros saw that each cookie in the bag Kinoko was presenting were half red and half white. She got a hunch that her and Rappa's real boss had set this up to confirm if Todoroki was at the bar. "...Well I would love to buy some," Beros said, "I do love strawberry-vanilla mixes, in fact I got such a cake inside the bar, I'm hoping to share it with a guy inside who I have a crush on, and I bet the cookies here will be a nice compliment."

"Hey who's at the door?" Mr. Compress asked.

Turning around, Beros said back into the bar, "Just some girls selling cookies for a fundraiser, it's no big deal." Beros got out some money and paid for a bag of the cookies. She leaned forward and whispered to Shizu quietly enough so only she can hear, "He's here." Shizu nodded once before Beros pulled back, received a bag of cookies from Kinoko, then wished the girls luck on their future endeavors in the cookie selling game.

After closing the door, Beros said, "Those girls were sweet, especially that blue haired one with autism."

"One of the girls is autistic, huh?" Dabi said, "Then they may have a shot if they try selling to the Dragon Hero while pointing out how the one girl is autistic. I got it that the Dragon Hero supports helping those on the spectrum."

"Or they can sell to the BMI Hero as they're selling cookies and he's a gluttonous fatass," Mustard remarked dryly, "Hell, I wouldn't put it past him to buy out their stock."

"Both are valid points," Beros nodded in agreement, "Especially the part regarding the Dragon Hero as the cookie sale is helping the autistic girl's class at school go on a field trip, and they're a special needs class. Although you're also right Mustard, the BMI Hero really is really fat."

Shizu and Kinoko, as they walked away from the bar, kept to themselves as Kinoko pulled the wagon behind her. Meanwhile, Shizu used Message to speak with Ainz. "Is now a bad time, Lord Ainz?" Shizu asked.

"No, I am free at the moment," Ainz replied, almost immediately.

"Kinoko and I have confirmed the location of the human boy named Shoto Todoroki," Shizu said, "He's at the bar confirmed to be the hideout of the League of Villains. Your human pawn Beros had been able to tell us herself."

"Excellent," Ainz replied, "I'll take care of things as soon as I've finished my preparations. You and Kinoko continue your cover job until you're out of the stock provided to you, then come back to the base I have established with the Shie Hassaikai."

"Understood, Lord Ainz," Shizu said before the Message ended. "We need to continue selling the cookies as if it's what were actually up to," Shizu said, "Then when we're out of stock we report straight back to base."

"I want to go back to base, base is safe," Kinoko remarked. Shizu understood that her pallet swap from the World Heritage combat maids had various eccentricities. But the Supreme Beings all have their various reasons for making the denizens of Nazarick the way they are. Who are Shizu and all of said denizens to argue about how the supreme ones made them?

Shizu would contemplate that later as she and Kinoko had to still sell the rest of the cookies to make it seem like they were actually door to door cookie salespersons so as to not arouse any sort of suspicion from the humans. To the credit of the two automaton combat maids (Kinoko same as Shizu is an automaton), their bags of cookies sold quickly as they struck the humans of the second New World as impossibly delicious.

But then again the cookies were from the cafeteria in Nazarick. They were even among the more simple items available on the menu, but they were still far beyond what mere humans tend to be able to enjoy. It would go a long way to explain why Lord Ainz decided to sell dessert items from the cafeteria in Nazarick at the one business he maintains in the second New World.

After the two automaton combat maids had made contact with Beros at Dabi's Bar, Dabi and his crew were watching it on TV as representatives from U.A. were having a press conference where they apologized to the people for their mistake of what happened at the summer break training camp where a combined forty U.A. students were supposed to be safe. Todoroki was watching it as well, given that the villains had him there with him.

There, Todoroki saw it as Aizawa, Kan, and Nezu apologized for their lack of ability on this occasion, as well as vowing to step things up to ensure such terrible actions by the villains can't happen again. Todoroki also heard it as Aizawa, looking more troubled than Todoroki ever recalled seeing his homeroom teacher, apologize for letting U.A. student Minoru Mineta get killed by one of the villains who attacked the training camp.

"So it's Mineta who was killed," Todoroki said, looking and sounding troubled.

Turning to look at Todoroki when he heard him speak up, Dabi asked, "Was he in your class or in the class that came with your class to the camp?"

"Mineta was one of my classmates in Class 1-A," Todoroki said, looking equal parts pissed and grim as he glared at Dabi.

Sighing, Dabi said, "If it helps, I had specifically told my crew to not kill any students. What Moonfish did was unsanctioned by my rule."

As Todoroki continued to glare at Dabi, the press conference went on to ask the heroes about the League of Villains not only breaking out their fellows from the training camp attack who were caught but also stealing the remains of the slain U.A. student. Nezu replied that they had no idea how the villains were able to pull off both feats but the incidents are currently being investigated.

"Hey, how did you guys get your caught fellows back?" Todoroki asked, "As well as how you stole Mineta's remains."

"I'm gonna be honest with you, Endeavor's kid," Dabi said, "We didn't do either act being pinned to us. We didn't get back Muscular or Moonfish, nor did we steal the dead kid's body. We are just as confused as the heroes." Todoroki was finding it hard to believe that Dabi and his brood really did have nothing to do with Muscular and Moonfish getting out of holding, had nothing to do with the disappearance of Mineta's body.

Who else besides the villains would do such a thing, much less have the interest in doing so and the means of pulling it off?

Over at where the press conference was being held, Aizawa, Kan, and Nezu were relaxing in a back room after the conference was over. It was a draining experience for Kan and especially Aizawa, who had to groom himself to look presentable for the conference. "They ate us alive out there," Kan said, "But I can't blame them."

"One student dead," Aizawa began, "And another one plus a pro hero kidnapped. And then there's how the two caught villains were busted out of holding, as well as Mineta's body being taken from the morgue." Aizawa dragged a hand down over his face. "I'd asked how things could get any worse for us, but I fear that may jinx things."

"It just tells us that Japan's hero society has grown accustomed to apparent ease," Nezu said, "We need to amp up things, not only to help the students grow stronger, but do so in safety. Hence why I'll be implementing the dorm system soon."

"Keep the students on campus full time where we can watch them around the clock," Aizawa said, "But given what we've seen as of late, will it be enough?"

"It's going to have to be," Nezu said, "Heroes are ones to roll with the punches. We're just going to have to do that."

The two teachers both let out sighs, with Kan saying, "I hope that All Might and the other pros going in to rescue Todoroki will succeed."

Back over at Dabi's Bar, they had finished watching the apology press conference. "Feh, figures that the heroes were going to wanna save face," Magne said.

"Well they're gonna lose a lot of face after the broadcast we're gonna do," Dabi said, "Of course we have to get things set up still so we can hack broadcast feeds for all of Japan first so that everyone will see us as we do our magic live."

"You're going to hack broadcast feeds to show everyone in Japan something," Todoroki said.

Turning to look at Todoroki, Dabi said, "Oh yeah. Once we're live, I'll give a speech about how the pro heroes are a bunch of failures before I-"

*knock* *knock* *knock*

"Hello? This is Kamino Ward Pizza Delivery! We have your order!"

Dabi was cut off by someone knocking on the front door of the bar before calling out that they were pizza delivery there with an order for them. "...The fuck?" Dabi said, "Who the hell ordered pizza? And to the bar no less!"

Pointing at Toga, Spinner said, "I bet it was Toga. That girl's brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell the crazy on her."

"That's not my crazy you're smelling," Toga said, "I just farted."

*SMASH*

"SMAAAAAAAAASSSSHHHHH!"

Toga couldn't continue because All Might suddenly smashed his way into the bar through one of the walls, before a flood of other pro heroes came in. Dabi and the villains were caught off guard, even Mirajane who was knocked down by a strike to the side of her head from Torino who blitzed his way into the bar.

Dabi tried casting a burst of blue flames, but Ingenium rushed in and struck him in the side of his head, sapping his focus. "The press conference on TV," Mr. Compress said, "It was a distraction!"

Edgeshot, using his quirk, turned wire thin and slipped in through a crack to get inside, then opened the door to let other pro heroes in. "How did you like my pizza delivery impersonation?" Edgeshot asked, "Although I will admit Ingenium was the one who gave me the idea."

Dabi was mad; the distraction of the apology press conference allowed the pro heroes to get the jump on him and the others. As he saw All Might went to free Todoroki, Dabi realized that his plan to shake the faith that the people of Japan have in their pro heroes was going up in smoke. Although Dabi wondered how in blazes the heroes found the bar.

"Yo Mirajane!" Dabi called out, "Warp in as many nomus as possible! We need some serious back up here right about now!"

"I... I can't..." Mirajane said as she struggled to get up, "They... they aren't where they're supposed to be... !"

...

Over at the warehouse where the nomus were being grown in vats, Best Jeanist was leading the charge to bring them down. "Bind them all!" Best Jeanist called out, "Allow not even one to get away from us!"

"Hey, I found Ragdoll!" Tiger called out, making Gang Orca come jogging up to him, "She's not responding to much, but at least she's alive!"

Mt. Lady, as she in her giant form held a nomu, said, "Eww, these monsters are, like, totes gross."

"Now's not the time to complain, Mt. Lady," Best Jeanist scolded.

"Actually, I have to agree with her," Pixie-Bob said as she and Mandalay helped to bring down a few more nomus.

"Yeah, even I'm grossed out," Gang Orca said, "Although I will say that I'll take nomus any day over those big black skeleton warrior monsters we've heard of." Everyone who was awake all nodded in agreement with Gang Orca.

...

"Your villainy ends here, League of Villains," All Might declared as he looked at the bound villains, "You will pay for what all you've done! Now then, where are your fellows Muscular and Moonfish who you busted out of holding? I don't see them anywhere!"

"The reason you aren't seeing them is because we didn't bust them out of holding, you blonde oaf of an ass," Dabi said, "And before you say anything, we also had nothing to do with the disappearance of the Mineta boy's body! We're as clueless as you are about what happened in both cases!"

"A likely story," Torino scowled, "And I suppose you're going to profess innocence when it comes to being involved with those big black skeleton warrior monsters!"

"Damn straight we are!" Dabi said, "We have no idea about those either! They're a threat to the League of Villains given they can go toe to toe with the nomus! Those big black skeleton warrior monsters are walking nightmares is what they are!"

"I soiled myself out of fright the first time I saw any of them," Toga confessed, "And it was just a video of what went on in Hosu the night Stain was caught."

"Yeah, Mirajane's still upset with you about the time you shat yourself in one of the bar booths when you first saw that video," Spinner said dryly.

All Might scowled in anger. "We'll be getting answers out of you one way or the other, League of Villains! We're getting Young Todoroki out of here, and the rest of you are going-"

All Might was cut off when portals of black sludge appeared and nomus came out of them. "Get Young Todoroki out of here!" All Might yelled as he rushed in to throw a punch into the face of the closest nomu. However, the same sludge came out of Todoroki's mouth and wrapped around him to warp him away. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" All Might screamed in anguish as he failed to grab Todoroki in time.

"Where in blazes is Endeavor's team?!" Ingenium yelled, "We got a monster house here to deal with, and we still have to bring in the League of Villains!"

"Endeavor's team is being attacked by nomus appearing outside!" Edgeshot said after looking outside to see what in blazes was happening. Indeed, outside of the bar a bunch of nomus appeared similar to what was going on inside of the bar, and Endeavor was beyond pissed that these monsters were getting in the way of him rescuing his son.

Endeavor incinerated a nomu to the point its regeneration wouldn't help it. "Out of my way, monsters!" Endeavor roared, caring only for his child that was in danger, "You have no idea how dangerous it is to get between a wolf and his pup!"

Back inside of the bar, as the heroes had to fight off the nomus, All Might scowled, "I just hope you villains won't bring in any of your big black skeleton warrior monsters!"

"One, I keep telling you the League of Villains aren't responsible for the big black skeleton warrior monsters," Dabi snarled, "And two, I totally agree with hoping they don't show up!" It still annoyed the Symbol of Peace that the League of Villains were continuing to deny responsibility for the big black skeleton warrior monsters, but All Might intended to get them to confess to what he knew full well had to be the truth.

...

Back at where the nomus were being produced, Best Jeanist and his team took steps back, as if out of instinct, when they felt an overwhelming sense of potent, evil power approach them. "Who goes there?" Tiger demanded, "Are you responsible for what happened to Ragdoll?!"

A mysterious figure emerged partly from the shadows. "Oh my, heroes, you will have to forgive me," the mysterious figure said in a polite tone that still dripped with evil intent, "Ragdoll's quirk is ever so appealing... and when I see an appealing quirk I just have to take it... heh heh heh..."

The heroes all looked shocked. "...You... you took Ragdoll's quirk... ?" Gang Orca said.

"How is something like that even possible?" Mandalay screamed.

"Why should I tell you heroes?" said the mysterious figure, "You're going to fall here either way. You and the police allies you've brought with you... you all are in the way of my successor Dabi. I'm going to have to step in it seems, help my dear Dabi and his League get away..."

Before most of the heroes there could tell it, a blast of power rushed right into them, blasting all of them away. After the smoke settled to show the severe destruction caused by the power of the mysterious figure, he said, "...Ah, Best Jeanist, I see you were able to pull yourself and your fellow heroes out of the way to avoid the worst. Your quirk, refined and honed to the finest degree, is very impressive I must say. But it is of no use to me."

As Best Jeanist struggled to get up, blobs of black sludge appeared out of nowhere and out of them came Dabi, the rest of the LoV, and even Todoroki. "The heroes caught us by surprise, boss man," Dabi said, "Sorry about that."

"The fault is not on you, my dear Dabi," replied the mysterious figure, "The heroes can be as crafty as us, not to mention elements not even I know of or could have foreseen are getting into play."

"Yeah, the big black skeleton warrior monsters," Dabi said, "Get this, the heroes STILL think that we're responsible for those horrors matching up against the nomus."

The mysterious figure scoffed in dry unamusement. "The heroes are being ignorant, blaming all of the evils of society on us because they lack other ways to answer things. It is their lot in life, there's not all that much that we can do about-"

"ALL FOR ONE!"

Everyone at the scene turned to look in the direction they heard the bellowing shout of a certain baritone voice, and saw it as All Might himself flew in and rushed right at the mysterious figure, who threw up his hands to block the fists of the Symbol of Peace. "Your vile evil ends right here and now, All For One!" All Might declared as he jumped back to get some distance.

Chuckling, the now identified All For One said, "What's this now? Do you think you can succeed this time where you failed last time and kill me? You're a fool, All Might. Especially so as you made the grave error of coming alone."

This time, All Might smirked at All For One. "Whatever gave you the idea that I was coming alone?" Suddenly, the heroes who were at Dabi's Bar, having subdued the summoned nomus, all came in to help deal with the ultimate villain who stood before All Might.

All Might rushed All For One, kept his attention as Ingenium rushed in, grabbed Todoroki, and carried him out of there as fast as possible. "When you get to U.A.," Ingenium said to Todoroki as they got away from the battlefield Kamino Ward was turning into, "Tell my younger brother Tenya that I'm sorry for how I had been out of commission for a little bit! But I'm fully recovered now and rearing to go!"

Todoroki looked surprised. "I figured my father was going to be wanting dibs on rescuing me, knowing him," Todoroki remarked.

"You know your dad all too well," Ingenium said, "But it was pointed out how I'd be better at getting in, grabbing you, and getting you out of here! Besides, your dad is one hell of a fighter, his power is going to be needed to fight the villains!"

As Tensei Iida got one of the classmates his little brother has out of the danger zone, the heroes back at said danger zone were trying to contain the villains. Dabi and most of the others fought back hard, and Dabi was surprised to see Rappa send Best Jeanist flying with a barrage of bullet fast punches. As for Beros, she fired arrows that hit the heroes, with Mt. Lady being a big target even though her arrows weren't doing much to Mt. Lady who was in giant form.

Dabi, in a desperate move, cast a wave of blue flames that made a lot of heroes have to fall back, also burning part of the outfits the pro heroes were wearing. Aside from All Might who was busy with All For One, all of the heroes were hit but only Endeavor was able to shrug things off well enough. No doubt due to his own fire quirk helping him tank a lot of the brunt from Dabi's fan of blue flames he had cast.

"Nice try, villain!" Endeavor roared at Dabi, "You and your little League of Villains have failed! You and your fellows will be defeated here and be thrown into Tartarus right where you belong!"

Scoffing bitterly, Dabi said, "What's this now, Endeavor? Upset we picked up your baby boy from his play date over at U.A. Day Care?"

Endeavor looked like his buttons were mashed with All Might level strength, but before he could do anything, a Time Stop spell took effect, freezing time all around everything. While everything looked as still as a picture, a Gate portal appeared above the battlefield. Coming out of said portal was the one being the heroes of Japan, even All Might himself, would never be able to match.

END, CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Author's notes;

This chapter sees Dabi and his League of Villains panic a bit as Moonfish's killing of Mineta turns the heat up under them more than they need, making them have to speed things up. The heroes have a meeting to discuss things, then back at Dabi's bar Shizu Delta and her pallet swap visit under the guise of being simple door to door cookie sellers, but are able to confirm that Todoroki is at the bar thanks to Beros answering the door and seeing the message.

The press conference is taken care of, and Nezu discusses how to ensure the safety of the students from this point moving forward. Aizawa and Kan are emotionally drained, Aizawa especially so as one of his students was kidnapped and another one was killed. The heroes eventually confront the League, and All For One has to come out of hiding to play. But just after Todoroki is gotten out of there and before things can get really serious, Ainz comes in to do his thing.

He's got a sweet new outfit too, it'll be described at the beginning of the next chapter. Take care.
