In these days, Jadaka took the throne of Wakanda. On the throne, he addressed his council and generals. "Africans are fighting their oppressors now without the resources and firepower that we have. Where is Wakanda?" he asked rhetorically. "That ends today. We have spies embedded in every nation already in place. I know how alien colonizers think. We'll use their own strategy against them. We're going to send Vibranium weapons to our war dogs. All those oppressed all over the world will rise up and kill their oppressors. It's time they knew the truth about us...again. We're warriors, and the world is going to start over. This time we're on top. The sun will never set on the Wakanda empire," he declared.
In order to conquer the world, Jadaka sent out a total of six fighters that were slightly inconvenient to Imperial outposts nearby.
Taking advantage of this declaration of war, the Imperial fleet, composed of the USS Lena light carrier and her escort ships, got into position to fire upon central Africa. Fighters swarmed around the fleet on patrols. Mon was on the bridge of the USS Lena merely observing the fleet out the window.
A general approached him to give him an update. "What is it, general?" Mon asked annoyed.
"We've detected an energy field around Wakanda. It's strong enough to deflect any bombardment," Gen. Beers said to him.
Mon turned to his admiral pissed off. "Admiral Nozzle, the Wakandans are alerted to our presence. Your orbit of the planet was too close," he chided.
"We felt it was wiser...," he stammered.
"You're as clumsy as you are stupid. I am taking direct command now," Mon said to him. He then turned to Gen. Beers. "Prepare your men for a surface attack."
"Yes, my lord," he replied and then walked off.
"We shall put their energy field to the test," Mon ordered.
A Wakanda pulse cannon from the surface fired at the Galactic Federation fleet. Two shots went through the atmosphere, into space, and got two direct hits on an Athena-class battleship. The pulse cannon bursts penetrated the ship's shields and disabled the ship temporarily.
"Damage report?" Mon asked.
"Five percent damage to the hull. Engines and weapon systems are down," a lieutenant informed him.
"Tractor-beam the ship out of range of their ground-based weapons," Mon ordered. "Captain Kennedy, prime your dreadnaught and incinerate their base," he radioed.
An Ares-class dreadnaught immediately took aim at Wakanda. A single Wakanda fighter emerged from the atmosphere and went straight for the dreadnaught. As it did, it was immediately fired upon by swarms of fighters, Poseidon-class subs, and Cirrus-class frigates. The Wakanda fighter took considerable damage and then attempted to ram the dreadnaught at light speed. What was left of the fighter dramatically accelerated and then exploded on the dreadnaught's shields.
"Take a note of that man's bravery," Mon said condescendingly and sincerely.
Captain Kennedy then fired on the Wakanda capital with several large belly cannons. The busts hit the energy shield as expected. "Keep firing until those shields lower," he ordered.
On the ground, Captain Glover's company geared up to engage the Wakanda enemy. "We're part of the second wave. Kill everything that's still moving. You get me?" he shouted to his men.
"We get you, Sir!" they all shouted.
Imperial infantry arrived at the pulse cannons causing trouble for the fleet. Several soldiers fired shoulder missile launchers. The missiles hit the pulse cannons causing massive explosions that destroyed them. The infantry braced themselves as they were hit with the shockwave. Pallas-class bombers flew in and bombed the fuck out of the area to soften up the enemy. The infantry watched in awe as the ground exploded in large plumes of dirt, smoke, and fire.
"Nothing could survive that shit," Private Dolphin figured.
"They can," Private Chief said knowingly.
"Move out," SFC Howell ordered once the bombing was over.
"Blood," Private Cowboy noticed on the ground.
"If it can bleed, we can kill it," SFC Howell told them all.
Alex and the other medics immediately set up for the potential for mass casualties. Stretchers and cases of medical supplies were assembled together. The ground was mostly cratered but with very few Wakanda bodies. Private Bill cautiously approached a Wakanda body. As he did, the Wakanda body became alive and screamed an African war cry.
"Holy shit!" Private Bill shouted.
A plasma beam went through that Wakanda soldier's head splattering Private Bill with blood. Another beam went through the Imperial soldier's head as he lay in shock. He was shot several more times in the torso for good measure. Instantly, several Imperial soldiers were shot in random places by an unseen enemy. Wakanda mortar shells exploded around the Imperial infantry blasting up the ground and sending Vibranium shrapnel into bodies.
The Imperial infantry returned fire blindly through the smoke and dust still unable to see the enemy. A machine gunner team was suddenly blasted to pieces with precision with one of them split in half at the waist. "Where the hell are they? I can't see anything," Private Eagle said as he looked around. A beam suddenly sliced through his cheek and knocked off his helmet. Another beam went through his head.
Alex treated a soldier with a gut injury as he was screaming in pain. "Come with me, we're leaving," Alex said to him.
Meanwhile, Private Cowboy picked up the upper half of a corpse he found and used it as a shield as he attacked the enemy like a badass. He shot to death six Wakanda soldiers before taking cover. Private Charger fired an electrical gun shocking and burning several Wakanda soldiers together. Private Cowboy continued his badassery by killing a machine gunner and then tossing a grenade into a tunnel getting more kills. Alex fired on a Wakanda soldier, killing him before he could get to Private Cowboy.
"You, hurt?" Alex asked him.
"I'm fine," he said and then parted ways with her.
Alex saw a soldier get his legs blasted off. She went over to him immediately, pulling him inside a crater for cover, and addressed his injury as he cried out. Ignoring the soldier's screams of agony, Alex placed tourniquets on his legs. "Just breathe," she told him and then injected him with morphine.
"Don't leave me! I got kids!" Private Ram said to her.
"I'm not leaving anywhere. I'm going to get you home," Alex assured him. Alex then picked him up on her back and made her way to the medics. "I have priority," she said to the other medics.
"Priority? He's fucked," one medic said.
"You don't know that. Do your fucking job," Alex yelled at him.
Alex went out into the thick of fire. "I figure if we can't see them, they can't see us," she said to the other soldiers. Private Cowboy stayed close to Alex believing her to be a magnet for the enemy, and he wasn't wrong. As Alex tried to rescue more soldiers, the enemy would try to get at her only for Private Cowboy to ambush them.
The infantry moved against a series of bunkers and trenches. A shoulder missile destroyed one bunker completely. Private Giant and Private Cowboy made their way toward another bunker under heavy fire. As Private Giant was about to toss the explosive, he was hit with a mortar taking him out. Private Cowboy arrived on the scene, took the explosive, and crawled his way to the bunker where he then threw the explosive in. The bunker exploded killing everyone inside.
The infantry advanced forward and clashed with the Wakanda in hand-to-hand combat. The two sides shot at each other, sliced each other up with blades, and threw grenades down at their feet. Captain Glover slammed a Wakanda soldier down on his own grenade exploding his body and stunning himself. Electrical discharges zapped the air and blasted Wakanda soldiers to pieces.
Alex got to Private Giant's side. "Where are you hit?" she asked looking him over.
"I don't know," he said confused and disoriented.
"What's your name?" Alex asked as she checked for a concussion.
"Private...Giant," he replied.
"Good enough," Alex said as she checked his whole body for other injuries.
With the battle won, the infantry stopped moving forward. "Good job, everyone. We take the rest of the field tomorrow," Captain Glover said to everyone.
"Find yourself a nice hole near the bunker to put your dick in for the next couple of hours," SFC Howell ordered, completely unphased by the carnage. "Private Colt, where the fuck are you going?"
"There's still wounded out there, Sergeant," Alex reminded him.
"I'll go with her," Private Cowboy volunteered.
"Don't be stupid, keep your heads down," SFC Howell allowed. "Now, find me a spot for the shitter."
Alex went about finding wounded all over the battlefield. With Private Cowboy's help, she managed to get several over to the medics with various injuries. Throughout the night, Private Cowboy acted like a bodyguard of sorts. Eventually, the two rested a while inside a crater. "Is your girl a dame?" Private Cowboy asked bluntly.
"She has very black skin, darker than all of you. She's got long straight black hair. Her eyes and her teeth are perfectly white," Alex said reflectively.
"Is she completely queer like you?" Private Cowboy asked.
"As far as I know," Alex replied.
"Too bad. We could have been a threesome," Private Cowboy suggested.
"She's not into your kind of personality," Alex told him.
"I know I can be an asshole sometimes," Private Cowboy admitted.
"Sometimes?" Alex questioned.
"You should get some sleep," Private Cowboy suggested.
"Nah, my night terrors might give away our position," Alex admitted.
"The fuck? From this?" Private Cowboy asked.
"Nah, this is...well, it's bad, but I've been through a lot of shit where I'm from," Alex said reflectively.
"You look like you're in your mid-thirties, you have medic training way beyond us, and you're just a private? Something doesn't add up," Private Cowboy said. "You're like a weapon specialist, a doctor, and a commander all in one."
"I don't need the rank," Alex shook her head.
"Any sane person would want rank and prestige," Private Cowboy figured.
"Do I come off as sane to you?" Alex asked seriously.
"How did you get to be...you know...queer?" he asked curiously.
"Like, did I have an absent mother and an adoring father? That's the idea, isn't it? That we overcompensate for a parent that isn't there, that I'm seeking a motherly figure I never had growing up," Alex scoffed.
"Yeah," Private Cowboy figured.
"It was the opposite, really. When my father left when I was fifteen, I naturally should have sought a replacement for him, a boyfriend, but it never happened. I don't know why I am the way that I am. I know that people close to me have gone to great lengths to try to change me, and it's never worked. And now, I'm at a place where I don't want to be fixed," Alex said truthfully.
"Where did your father leave to?" Private Cowboy asked.
"He was a soldier, a mercenary, an assassin. He always was one crazy mission after another. I never knew about it until later. He would pretend to be a scientist as his cover. He married my mom, a scientist, to further his cover. Finally, he went on a mission and didn't come back. I found him many years later but by then, he was dead to me in my heart," Alex explained. "And, after that, I promised I would never be with a man like that. And for a time, I thought that was the reason."
"My father was never in the picture. My mother gave me up for adoption when I was five. Then, suddenly, the queen changes everything. I no longer had to worry about food, water, or the heat being turned off. So, as soon as I was able, I signed up for the military as a way to show my gratitude," Private Cowboy said.
Alex simply stared at him. "And what if you die on this battlefield tonight?"
"You got to die for something. For me, it's queen and country," he smiled.
The next morning, Wakanda soldiers overran the Imperial position using a series of tunnels underneath the battlefield. The Imperials were forced to retreat as the Wakanda army got in close with their spears. Private Charger zapped a few of them before his battery pack was hit with a beam. He suddenly exploded all over the ground. SFC Howell was hit in both legs and dropped.
Alex placed a tourniquet around one soldier and then went on to the next. As she attempted to get him a portal blood transfusion, a beam blasted it apart. "Well...shit," Alex sighed and then carried the soldier away on her back.
The Imperial army continued to retreat from position to position only to get pushed back again. Mortar fire, grenade explosions, and beams of light were everywhere. Scores of men were killed on both sides. Private Cowboy ran towards a machine gunner with just his pistol like a badass. He shot the machine gunner dead but got shot several times to the torso, dropping him. He crawled to cover and fired his pistol at any enemy nearby.
Alex ran over to him and noticed he was having trouble breathing. "I'm scared," he admitted.
"This will help with the pain," she said as she injected him with morphine. Private Cowboy looked like he was on the verge of passing out and dying. "No, don't you dare," Alex told him and then took him on her back away from the battlefield. Alex dropped him off at the medic station only to find out he was already dead.
Pallas bombers arrived on the scene and blasted the battlefield to clear the field. Alex stayed behind on the edge of the battlefield as explosions roared around her. "Medic!" someone called out.
Alex eyed the smoke and fire and felt a need to go into it.
For the next couple of hours, Alex found wounded soldiers on the battlefield and brought them to a secure spot. She gave them tourniquets and bandaged them up before going out to find more. Alex continued to drag more of the wounded to her spot. As she did, Wakanda scouts started surveying the area and intentionally killing the wounded with their spears. Alex buried one wounded shoulder to avoid detection and then hid underneath a dead soldier. As the Wakanda soldiers came by, they stabbed the body above Alex nearly slicing into her. Once they were behind her, Alex tossed the dead body aside and quickly shot the scouts with accurate headshots until they were all dead. She then dragged the wounded soldier back to her position.
Upon going out again, another scout team noticed her and shot at her. Alex avoided their fire and ended up going down a tunnel. Inside the tunnel, she found dead soldiers and rats. Going through the tunnel, she found a squad moving towards her. She ambushed them with headshots before they knew what was going on. Alex toured around the tunnels for a bit until she got a killing spree designation and then went back to the surface at night. There, she continued to look for the wounded checking each body for vital signs. One of them shot at her blindly.
Alex took control of his rifle and put her hand over his mouth. "Seahawk, it's Colt," she told him. She then noticed he appeared blind. With her canteen, she watered his eyes and got the dirt out.
"I thought I was blind," he said amazed.
"Now, you can see," Alex said obviously. "Now, shut the fuck up."
Alex brought Private Seahawk back to the rest of the wounded and continued her work.
The next morning, Alex evaded the Wakanda scouts and found SFC Howell with serious leg wounds. "Well, if it isn't Private Colt. What took you so long?" SFC Howell chided.
"You want some morphine?" Alex asked.
"Fuck no. I'm no bitch, Private Colt," he told her.
Alex checked his tourniquets and found that they were working. Her helmet suddenly got hit by a beam of light stunning her. Alex took her helmet off to look at the damage. "Put your helmet back on, private," SFC Howell scolded.
Alex threw the helmet into the air and let the sniper fire at it. SFC Howell then fired on the sniper, killing him. A Wakanda squad then moved on their location. Alex and SFC Howell fired back at the Wakanda squad until they were overrun. Alex proceeded to drag SFC Howell toward their line. As she did, SFC Howell fired on the enemy, dropping several of them. As they crossed over to Imperial lines, the pursuing Wakanda soldiers were lit up.
Alex finally collapsed as she ran out of strength. "Are you wounded?" Captain Glover asked sympathetically.
"It's complicated," Alex replied.
"Get her to a hospital," Captain Glover ordered his men.
After a brief hospital stay, Alex stayed by herself reading a Bible. Captain Glover awkwardly walked over to her. "All I saw was a queer," he admitted. There was an awkward silence between them.
"And?" Alex asked expectedly.
"I didn't know who you were. You've done more than any soldier in the service of her queen, and I've never been so wrong about someone in my life. I hope one day you can forgive me," he said sincerely.
"Sure," Alex allowed.
"We're going to attack tomorrow. So... yeah," Captain Glover said and walked off.
"Fuck me," Alex sighed.
Once the shields came down, Mon instantly teleported onto the Wakanda field just outside the capital. As If expecting him, the Dora Milaje rushed him with spears. Mon swatted them down with non-lethal punches but then faced a rhino cavalry. Mon fired shockwave blasts at the rhinos knocking them out and tossing their riders. Wakanda soldiers approached Mon with blades and swiped at him continuously in a frenzy. Mon attempted to block them at first but then incinerated them all with an energy blast that roared around his body.
Jadaka activated his Black Panther suit as Mon slowly approached him. Mon fired energy bars that pinned his arms to his sides and kept him from moving. Jadaka struggled against the bar and then unleashed an energy discharge that freed himself.
Mon fired energy discs at him to slice him in half. Jadaka skillfully avoided the discs with his flexibility. Mon fired on him several times creating holes in his suit that quickly formed up. Mon then fired a continuous stream of energy that forced Jadaka to his knees. Mon kept it up but it only powered Jadaka's suit. As Jadaka was about to unleash on him, Mon bitch-slapped him into the large Vibranium mining pit.
There, Mon and Jadaka punched at each other several times in mid-air as they fell into the deep cavern. The two landed on a magnetic train track after a long fall. The two quickly recovered and punched at each other. Mon got the better of the fight as he eventually punched Jadaka to the floor. Upon seeing a train approaching them, Mon could see Jadaka would soon have a disadvantage. Mon fired on the train destroying it completely and deactivating the magnetic train.
"You trying to help me out? I don't need a suit to kill you," Jadaka said as he threw his black balls at him. The balls exploded as grenades.
"Your reign is over," Mon told him as he emerged from the smoke unharmed.
"I learned from you these last seven years, to beat you at your own game," Jadaka taunted.
"Your defiance will destroy you, Wakanda, and the world," Mon said.
"You threaten to take everything away from me, everything I ever loved. But I'm going to make us even. I'll kill anyone who even thinks about being loyal to you. Oh, I know all about the queen's sister. She's on the battlefield right now. I'm going to make sure she's put in the dirt," Jadaka said.
"Come at me, bro," Mon frowned, taking him seriously.
Jadaka immediately attacked with his Vibranium knife. Mon quickly disarmed Jadaka with one hand, blasted a hole through his suit with an energy blast, and then stabbed him deeply.
The Imperial army attacked once more with the Wakanda soldiers fighting to the last man. A grenade was thrown Alex's way. She deflected it to the ground and then kicked it away. The grenade exploded in the air, slicing up her leg badly. Alex was taken away from the battlefield as the battle concluded. While some Wakanda soldiers surrendered, many committed ritual suicide with their Vibranium blades.
"You're going home, Olsen. We've taken the hill," Captain Glover told her.
"Just let me...get one more," Alex said delusionally as she was taken away.
Mon stared as a mortally wounded Jadaka tried to remain standing. "Wakanda is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," he said, gasping.
"You should get out more," Mon mocked.
"A unified peaceful Earth under a Kryptonain queen and her AI pet. You believe that fairytale?" Jadaka doubted.
"I try not to," Mon replied honestly. Mon gave Jadaka a sympathetic look and teleported them both to a mountain so Jadaka could see the sunset.
"Maybe we can still heal you," Mon said half-heartedly.
"Why? So, you can lock me up?" Jadaka asked dismissively.
"So, I can beat your ass when I feel like it," Mon said sincerely.
"Just bury me with my fathers. Death is better than bondage," he said.
"Well said," Mon allowed and then took the knife out of his chest. Jadaka quickly collapsed and died at his feet.
Soon thereafter, in the Wakanda throne room, Kara took a seat on the throne with Mon in front of her. "The last nation to fall to me," she said reflectively with a heavy sigh.
"Took you long enough," Mon rolled his eyes. "Shall I retrieve Alex for you?"
Kara stared at Mon with hateful eyes. "You knew where she was this entire time. I should strip you of your rank as Prince of this world."
"The only thing you're stripping me of is my belt," Mon told her off.
"These last few days, I had no idea if Alex was alive or dead!" Kara said furiously.
"She's fine, sort of," Mon rolled his eyes.
"I am the queen of this world and the most powerful being in the universe but if Alex dies, all my hopes and dreams are gone!" Kara shouted. "Have I not given everything of myself?"
Mon simply stared her down as Kara began to glow. "I stood by you after Rhea, remember? And I fucking warned you not to let Alex into danger. So, today, I am done!" Kara yelled at him.
Mon took out a device and pointed it at her. "What's that supposed to be? Some secret weapon?" Kara scoffed.
Mon activated the remote and immediately the throne began to glow green and green restraints cuffed Kara's wrists to the chair. Mon walked over to her with a confident swagger. "You were a little too comfortable on that throne. Does it still feel good?"
Kara gave Mon a look of genuine fear as he walked over to her. "I will not be held responsible for what Alex does or does not do. If you're going to threaten me, you better kill me. It's unwise to make an Insane nervous" he told her. "Now, have you calmed down?"
"Yes," Kara nodded submissively.
"I advise you to inform Alex of the consequences of her actions. Should she say die, you'll self-destruct again, and then this galaxy becomes mine," Mon said seriously.
"I will," Kara replied, positively spooked.
"I enjoyed that little Oscar performance just now. Keep them coming," Mon smirked and then deactivated the Kryptonite restraints. He then teleported away leaving Kara with her troubled thoughts.
