A/N: I think I covered some of the events in "All Valley" already, but Johnny's meeting with the All-Valley Committee will be the main focus of this chapter. Because it wouldn't be the same without it. At least in my opinion.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Karate Kid movies, Cobra Kai or anything else that I might reference.

All Valley

Johnny parked his Pontiac Firebird in a parking space outside of the dojo.

He takes a notebook and a pen along with his keys when he gets out of the car.

Johnny unlocks the door to the dojo and puts his keys away before he pulls the door open and walks in.

He came in early.

Which means that the students weren't going to be at the dojo for a while.

Johnny turns on the lights in the dojo before walking to his office.

He places the notebook and pen on the desk in his office before opening the notebook and sitting down.

A karate magazine with the number for signing a dojo up to compete in the All Valley is also open.

Johnny dials the number on his phone.

It takes about a minute for someone to pick up.

"Good afternoon, you're through to the All-Valley Committee. This is Melissa speaking. How can I help?" Melissa answers the phone.

Johnny scratches his head. "I was just wondering if I could still register my dojo to compete in the All-Valley."

"Of course. What is the name of your dojo?" Melissa asks.

Johnny is quick to answer. "Cobra Kai."

"Okay. Will you excuse me for a moment?" Melissa puts the call on hold.

Johnny waits for a couple of minutes before she gets back on the line. "Is Cobra Kai going to be able to compete in the All-Valley?"

"I'm sorry, but Cobra Kai has been banned from competing in the All-Valley since 1985." Melissa replies.

Johnny sort of nods. "Okay. Is there any way I can change that?"

"The All-Valley Committee is having their annual meeting tonight. It might be a long shot, but you could try and get Cobra Kai unbanned. But don't say that I told you that." Melissa replies.

Johnny takes this information. "I probably know where the committee meeting is going to be, but having the address wouldn't hurt."

"Great." Melissa answers.

Johnny takes down the address of where the meeting will take place and is almost surprised to learn that it will be taking place in the All-Valley Sports Arena.

The call ends shortly after that.

Johnny still has time to write out what he will say at the All-Valley Committee meeting.

He more or less knows what he will say, but it's just a matter of putting it in writing.

Just so he's prepared.

.

Jason can see Claire's Volkswagen Beetle parked near the dojo and parks his Dodge Viper beside it.

He sees that Miguel, Claire, Aisha, Leonard, Hawk and the other Cobra Kai students were waiting outside the dojo.

Jason gets out of the Dodge Viper and walks over to where they're all standing.

"Hey, Jason! I think the door might be open, so we should probably go in." Claire walks over to Jason.

Jason agrees. "Yeah. I think Miguel will probably be in first, though."

He watches as Miguel opens the door and walks through it.

The other students all follow Miguel inside.

"I think we should probably head in. I'm looking forward to our date, by the way." Claire says.

Jason smiles. "Me too. Dinner and a movie or whatever you feel like doing would be a nice change of pace from how busy things have been. Especially when, or if, Sensei signs us up for the All-Valley."

"I'd say that would be more of a "when" than an "if." Sensei has been talking about the All-Valley for quite a while." Claire points out.

They walk over to the dojo entrance and Jason opens the door before holding it open for Claire.

He follows Claire inside after she walks in.

The door closes behind him.

They walk over to where Miguel, Aisha, Leonard and Hawk are standing.

Miguel looks over at them. "Hey, guys. I'm going on a date with Sam tonight, and we're going somewhere she's been to quite a bit."

"So, you're going to Golf 'N' Stuff? Sam's dad took her there all the time when she was little. And, it's a pretty good place to take someone on a date." Aisha remarks.

Miguel smiles. "Yeah."

"I hate to change the subject, but I got a cool tattoo a couple of days ago Do you guys want to see it?" Hawk asks.

Jason nods. "Sure."

"Alright!" Hawk exclaims.

He takes off the top part of his gi, showing off a tattoo of a hawk with its wings spread across his upper back and to his shoulder blades. The hawk also has a blue mohawk.

Claire and Aisha both have the same thought. "What about your parents?"

"I haven't told them yet. And I don't plan on telling them for a long time. Please don't tell them." Hawk puts the top part of his gi back on.

Jason grins. "Relax. We're not going to tell your parents. It's a pretty cool tattoo."

"Yeah. That must have taken some serious time to get done." Leonard says.

Miguel nods. "It's probably why I won't get a tattoo. Plus, my mom and my Yaya would probably freak out if I got a tattoo."

Jason is about to say something when they see Sensei walking out of his office.

"Diaz and Kreese will lead the warmups. I've got a meeting with the All-Valley Committee and hopefully they'll let Cobra Kai compete again." Sensei looks at the group.

Miguel and Jason look at each other and nod. "Yes, Sensei!"

They walk to the front of the room and start leading the students in warmups.

When the warmups have finished, the students spar.

Miguel and Jason act as referees.

Until they have to spar against two different students.

Sensei calls an end to training.

"Diaz and Kreese, my office." Sensei walks back into his office.

Miguel and Jason follow Sensei to his office as the other students all disperse.

"I've prepared what I'm going to say to the All-Valley Committee, but I just want to see what you think." Sensei hands Miguel a notebook.

Miguel looks through the notebook and passes it Jason before handing it back to Sensei.

His response comes relatively quickly. "I think that could work. But it depends on what the All-Valley Committee says."

"I'm probably not the best person to ask about this sort of thing. But I think that you've done a good job at putting your case forward." Jason adds.

Sensei takes this in before commenting. "Alright. Well, I'm not going to take up anymore of your time. Especially not when you've got dates to get to."

"Thanks, Sensei." Miguel says.

Jason and Miguel leave Sensei's office.

Miguel walks over to where he kept his bike and Jason walks over to his Dodge Viper.

Jason waits until Miguel leaves before he leaves.

His date with Claire will consist of dinner and a movie. Which is something that he has been looking forward to.

.

Johnny is almost surprised by the fact that there were quite a few cars parked at the All-Valley Sports Arena.

He manages to find a parking space and stops the Pontiac Firebird.

Johnny gets out of the car and walks the short distance towards the All-Valley Sports Arena.

He opens the door and walks into the building.

Johnny finds out where the meeting is taking place and walks into the room.

He sees people sitting in chairs and a table with five people seated at it.

One of those people is Melissa. He later learns that the other people sitting at the table are Ron, George, Daryl and Sue.

And he's not sure if she recognises him.

"So, we've agreed on there being a Girls' Division in the All-Valley and a change from red and white mats to blue and gold mats. Is there anything else that needs to be discussed?" Ron asks.

Johnny raises a hand. "There is something that I kind of want to discuss. If that's okay with you?"

"Is this about what happened at last year's All-Valley? We had no idea that the corndogs had turned. And, we have a new food vendor, so what happened at last year's All-Valley will not happen at this year's All-Valley." George says.

Johnny shakes his head. "Actually, I was wondering if you could allow my dojo to compete in the All-Valley again."

"What is the name of your dojo?" Darryl asks.

Johnny smiles. "Cobra Kai."

"Cobra Kai has been banned from competing in the All-Valley since 1985." George interjects.

Ron looks confused "We can ban dojos from competing in the All-Valley?"

"It even says so here. "Therefore, we, the All Valley Committee of 1985 issue a lifetime ban on Cobra Kai for the unethical and unsportsmanlike conduct shown by Senseis Terry Silver, John Kreese and their student, Mike Barnes." Do you have anything to do with these individuals?" George asks.

Johnny shakes his head. "John Kreese is dead. And, I don't even know who Terry Silver and Mike Barnes are."

"So, why should we unban Cobra Kai?" Ron asks.

Johnny stands up. "Because my Cobra Kai is different to what the original Cobra Kai was like during the 1980s. I took kids who didn't really know how to defend themselves, and some kids who did, and turned them into strong and confident people. And, I have always tried to teach them the right way. John Kreese's methods may have worked in the 1970s and 1980s but they don't work now."

He is about to continue with his speech when he is interrupted by someone entering the room.

"I have never missed an All-Valley Committee meeting, and I wasn't about to start now. John Kreese is a monster, and he even tried to kill Johnny Lawrence for losing to me after the All-Valley in 1984. It would be a huge mistake to allow Cobra Kai to compete in the All-Valley again." Daniel looks surprisingly emotional.

Johnny lets out a sigh. "John Kreese is dead."

"I think we should put it to a vote. It's the fairest way to settle this." George suggests.

Johnny agrees. "Thank you."

"Unfortunately, you can't be in the room when the vote happens. Sorry." Daniel interjects.

Johnny has enough time to say something else. "Being a Sensei is one of the best things to ever happen to me. And my students are making a difference in my life, too."

"Alright. I think we've heard about enough." Daniel says.

Johnny leaves the room and goes to wait in the hall.

He has said everything that he could have said.

The only thing he could do now was wait.

.

Miguel's date with Sam is going well.

Sam paid for their arcade passes and golf clubs.

They play mini golf without caring about who is winning or losing.

Sam and Miguel return their golf clubs and head to the arcade part of Golf 'N' Stuff.

"So, what do you want to do now?" Sam asks.

Miguel smiles. "We could try the ski ball. Or air hockey."

"Let's do the ski ball first." Sam replies.

They play ski ball until they hit the jackpot.

Miguel and Sam take their tickets.

They go around the arcade playing different games.

Miguel looks over at Sam. "Do you want to try the basketball shooter?"

"Sure. I wonder if karate is the only sport that you're good at. Or, if you're good at other sports." Sam answers.

Miguel smiles. "Is that supposed to be a challenge?"

"Sure. That is, if you think you can handle it?" Sam retorts.

Miguel nods. "I think I can handle it."

They walk over to the basketball shooter.

"Let's see who can get the most baskets." Sam takes a basketball and throws it.

The basketball goes into the basket with a swoosh.

Miguel smiles. "Not bad."

"So, will Cobra Kai be competing in the All-Valley this year?" Sam asks as she throws another basketball into the basket.

Miguel manages to throw a basketball into the basket. "Sensei went to the All-Valley Committee meeting tonight to try and convince them to unban Cobra Kai."

"Oh. My dad is on the All-Valley Committee. Or, more specifically, he's on the All-Valley board. And LaRusso Auto is one of the sponsors. It's kind of his way of giving back to a sport that's given him so much." Sam replies.

Miguel looks a bit surprised. "Oh. Does your dad have history with Cobra Kai or something?"

"That's one way of putting it." Sam answers.

Miguel shoots another basket. "But your dad doesn't have a problem with me."

"That's kind of different. Dad knows you're a good guy. But I don't think he feels quite the same way about your Sensei. Which is kind of unfortunate. But…." Sam trails off.

Miguel smiles. "It's better not to dwell on it?"

"Sort of." Sam answers.

Miguel shoots yet another basket. "Alright."

They shoot another basket.

Miguel and Sam cheer before Miguel hugs Sam.

They walk over to the prize booth to exchange their tickets.

"So, what do you think we should get?" Sam asks.

Miguel looks at the prizes and sees a plush toy octopus. "How about that one?"

"Here you go." The woman behind the register hands Miguel the plush toy octopus.

Miguel smiles. "Thanks."

"I think we've got one more stop." Sam says.

Miguel looks at Sam before handing her the plush toy octopus. "What stop would that be?"

"The photo booth." Sam says.

Miguel smiles. "That would be a good idea."

They walk over to the photo booth and get inside.

The first photo is a photo of Miguel and Sam smiling, the second photo is a photo of Miguel putting an arm around Sam, the third photo is a photo of them looking at each other and the fourth photo is a photo of Miguel kissing Sam.

They print the photos and get out of the photo booth. Miguel takes the octopus plush toy with him.

"That was pretty good. Even if we've kissed before." Sam says.

Miguel looks a bit embarrassed. "Thanks? I guess?"

"Don't worry about it. So, do you want to have lunch with me tomorrow? It'll be my treat." Sam offers.

Miguel nods. "Sure."

"Great. Dad will tell me how the All-Valley Committee meeting went. Including the vote on allowing Cobra Kai to compete again." Sam remarks.

Miguel lets out a deep breath. "Yeah. I'll probably hear from my Sensei about how it goes."

"It's probably better if you don't worry about it. So, do you want me to drive you back to your place?" Sam asks.

Miguel shrugs. "Sure. If you don't mind, that is."

"Not at all." Sam smiles.

They walk back to Sam's car.

Miguel watches as Sam unlocks the car before getting in.

He opens the passenger seat and gets into the car while holding the plush octopus.

They put on their seatbelts before Sam starts the car.

Miguel is thinking about the possible result of Sensei's attempt to get the ban on Cobra Kai competing in the All-Valley lifted.

The date had gone well, and Miguel was looking forward to having lunch with Sam tomorrow.

.

Johnny was beginning to lose track of how long he had been sitting down.

The chair he was sitting on was surprisingly comfortable.

He looked up and saw Daniel walking towards him.

"Congratulations, Johnny." Daniel says.

Johnny gives him a look. "Does that mean Cobra Kai can compete in the All-Valley again?"

"That's exactly what it means. I hope you know what you're doing bringing back Cobra Kai." Daniel replies.

Johnny nods. "I think I know what I'm doing. But thanks for the concern."

Daniel watches as Johnny gets to his feet.

"Miguel, Jason and your other students seem like good kids. So, I hope you're steering them in the right direction." Daniel says.

Johnny smiles slightly. "I am. I'm sure you have other things to do."

"I do." Daniel replies.

Johnny nods. "See you around."

He walks out of the All-Valley Sports Arena and finds where his Pontiac Firebird is parked.

Johnny opens the car and gets in the driver's seat.

He puts on his seatbelt before turning on the radio and driving off.

Johnny drives back to the dojo.

.

Jason parks the Dodge Viper outside of the dojo.

He notices Sensei's Pontiac Firebird parked outside, as well.

Jason gets out of the car.

He sees Miguel get off his bike.

"How'd your date with Claire go?" Miguel asks.

Jason grins. "It went pretty well. How'd your date with Sam go?"

"It went great." Miguel replies.

Jason looks happy. "Awesome. I think Sensei might be in the dojo. Because that's his car parked outside."

"Let's go in." Miguel says.

They walk to the dojo and open the door.

Jason and Miguel step inside the dojo and see Sensei drinking a beer and smiling.

Sensei looks over at them. "Kreese! Diaz! What are you doing here?"

"How'd the committee meeting go? We crushed our respective dates." Miguel says.

Sensei finishes his beer. "Cobra Kai is back in!"

"Yes!" Jason exclaims.

Sensei walks into his office. "I think this calls for a real toast!"

Sensei emerges from his office with a bottle of whiskey and three cups.

"This is the good stuff." Sensei hands cups to Jason and Miguel.

Sensei opens the bottle of whiskey and pours some if it into Jason and Miguel's cups before pouring some in his own.

Miguel makes the toast. "To Cobra Kai!"

"To Cobra Kai!" Sensei exclaims.

They each take a drink.

Sensei takes their cups. "That's enough for today. Get some sleep, because your real training starts tomorrow."

"We will." Miguel says.

Jason and Miguel leave the dojo.

He watches as Miguel gets back on his bike before he leaves.

Competing in the All-Valley would be a huge moment.

And he was going to be ready for it.
