Chapter 13
I nodded as I turned to Ari and told him to follow me. I walked around the village to see what the Jinyu were like. I walked past what looked like an inn where Jinyu was walking in and out constantly. When I heard what sounded like a metal hammer crashing down on an anvil. I walked over to where the sound was coming from and there was a deep blue scaled Jinyu. The pattern on his skin was more of strips then the patches of color I've seen before. He seemed to be using both hands to beat the piece of steel. I sat down on an anvil that looked like a fish, I watched as he worked the piece of steel into a cleaver of a blade. The sword has many points on the spine of the blade. The steel he was working with seemed to be thick, the sword's base looked about as thick when he started to blade. He sat there with what looked like tongs and pulled on the bottom of the blade to form a handle. He started to carve some kind of symbols into the blade, then dipped it into a large bucket of water. He mouthed something then pulled the sword out of the water, the symbols seemed to glow. Ari seemed to have wrapped himself around the anvil that I was sitting on. As he put up the sword on the rack there was a soft chirp behind me. It was the large black bird. I nearly fell off the anvil,
"How did you get there?" I shivered as the bird's feathers started to stand. It was crouched on a vase of some sort, I watched as its large talons gripped the sides of the vase without breaking it. The leather on the bird's wings seemed to scratch. It looked tired, its large wings were tightly tucked into its large body. The bird squawked as its feathers smoothed out its feathers trying on to seem less threatening and it lifted its head to show that it was holding a bag in its beak.
"Oh… thank you?" I puzzled as I took the bag out of the birds mouth, I slightly opened the bag to see the Log that I found in the wrecked ship,
"Where did..." I started as I looked back to where the bird was but now it was gone, just like it vanished into thin air "What did I hit my head on something," I thought to myself thinking I was seeing things, but my curiosity was starting to get the better of me as I opened the bag more, The bag was deep almost like a satchel, the fabric was made from what felt like a tip of wool a very deep black wool. The Log book seemed to have small scratches on it almost like someone who was trying to keep a hold of it. I cautiously opened the book to see the writing was mostly washed our except a few pages,
"The battle is more fearsome than I could have imagined. All around us, I hear the booming of Horde artillery. Their shells rain upon the deck above, and the screams of the crew are drowned out only by the roar of return fire. Admiral Taylor bade me hide here, in the hold, until the fighting ceased. They have posted guards outside my door. I feel restless. I should be out there, helping them!
Those that did not perish in the initial battle were lost in the ensuing storm. As our battered ships fought their way through rain and fog, the most critically injured succumbed to their injuries. I did what I could to staunch their wounds, but it was not enough. Why am I always too late to save my friends?
I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of a great, loud noise, like thunder. The ship was running aground on the rocks. The ship groaned and listened, and shouts and screams erupted on deck. I rushed to the door of my cabin, but my bodyguard locked me inside. There is nothing I can do now but wait.
The Vanguard has washed up on an unfamiliar shore. The ship is still, and all around me I hear silence. No one has come for me, and I fear that the crew is dead. The cabin is filling with water, so I must find a way out soon. If any Alliance soldier finds this, Know that I, Price Anduin Wrynn, am alive. I am going to travel inland and search for food and aid. Please tell My father and dear friend Athal that I am well," I read as I flipped to the last page that held writing. I could feel a sense of nervousness and relief rush over me as I looked at the last page. I was relieved that he was alive but not a single note on what direction he went. I sighed in frustration and that seemed to wake Ari up, that was not the only thing. There was a large gathering next to the middle where there seemed to be a medium size of water. There looked to be a figure standing above the water. It seemed to put down a flag, so I got off the anvil to get a better look. When I got closer to see the Alliance flag.
There was commotion out of my eye, I saw a flash of deep purple hair before it hit the ground. I turned my head to see that Rell was on the floor and that Amber was holding his head up. I started to walk over, then my walk turned into a run.
"What happened,"I shrieked as I bent down next to Amber
"We were attacked trying to look for supplies, It all happened so fast.." Amber panicked
"Okay take a breath he doesn't seemed to be bleeding profusely," I breathed
"He is!" Amber screamed
"Don't scream at me! I am trying to help, where is he bleeding?" I growled as I check for any puncher wounds
"Help me flip him over,"Amber ordered as she got a hold of his shoulders Mr. Nightwind was completely passed out,
"Mishka get your tail over here!" Amber screamed as we flipped him on to his stomach. I gasped slightly as I saw blood drip from the badges that were on him. I heard a soft pitter patter of footsteps come in my direction then a small hand came into view with several bandages.
"Here," A high pitched voice screeched
"Oh, thank you," I thank the tiny hand for the bandages I took the bandages from the small hand and recovered the wounds on Rell's back, "wait a minute," I thought to myself when I looked and came face to face with a red haired gnome with bright green eyes they looked almost electric, he had soot all over his face except for his skin around his eyes. He had a pair of goggles that sat on his forehead, I abruptly moved back without taking my hands off of Rell,
"Oh sorry, was I too close?" the gnome questioned
"Just a little," I said without trying to be rude, when Rell started to cough is when Amber sighed in relief
"Rell how do you feel?" Mishka said as she crouched down next to us.
"Like I've been stabbed with a blade that was on fire, in other word I feel like shit," Rell groaned as he tried to catch his breath.
"Rell language," Mishka scolded as she took my place beside Rell
"A hozen snuck up behind us and just railed into him with a knife," the gnome recalled
"I'm afraid he has a punctured lung,"Mishka worried
"The knife did look that long," said the gnome
"It doesn't take much," Mishka
"Hey Little Lu, can you do the thing again?" Sully questioned
"No I believe I can not," A light blue Jinyu answered
"Okay can everyone give the guy some space," the gnome shrieked and several people started to back up. When a white and black Jinyu came forward,
"I have something that might help," Jinyu said as pulled out a vial from his bag that was wrapped around his waist. Jinyu was cut straight down the middle. He looked to be the village healer by the complexity of his robes. The robe was decorated with beads, bright red thread, and beep blue. The thread was stitched into waves with a light green mixed in as well. The vial that he had was a pearl blueish purple,
"Please I could use the help," Mishka hesitated as she shuffled to the side, the Jinyu sat next to Rell and lightly touched the bandages then opened the veil then started to pour a red liquid onto the bandages, Rell let out a soft groan of relief,
"All right I'm going to ask that you rest and recover, your body needs it," the Jinyu spoke as he checked potion soaked bandages before getting up.
"Thank you, sir," I smiled
"Over course," the Jinyu bubbled before walking away.
