Chapter 6

When they arrived at the hut Lucas lay down on the sofa, Hilda went upstairs with her mother.

"That was dangerous, I know that creature had some abilities that it didn't show because I managed to paralyze it, I have to be more attentive." [Thought] Lucas thought, letting exhaustion consume him and closing his eyes.

Meanwhile, in Hilda's room, she was looking at woffs that seemed to be migrating somewhere.

"Lucas was looking distant and seemed very tired, as if he was running away from something" [Thought] Hilda thought worriedly.

Johanna, noticing the look on her daughter's face, decided to ask "Hilda, is everything all right?".

"I'm just worried about Lucas, he was a bit down when we were on our way back" Hilda replied.

"You don't know what caused it?" Johanna asks puzzled.

"I don't know, we were talking about the city, he asked me if I didn't want him with us," Hilda says remembering the conversation.

"Is he worried that we've left him behind?" Johanna asks worriedly.

"Yes, but that's not all, he's also worried that he's going to fit into the city," Hilda replies, worried about Lucas.

After hearing this, Johanna remembered what Lucas had told them about his situation. Knowing this, she didn't want to leave this boy alone, but she was also worried after what he had said.

Johanna then put Hilda to bed to sleep with Trolberg's guide book and went to get a drink of water. When her body was about to rise, she looked over at the sofa and saw Lucas with his mouth open, snorting loudly and drooling.

"How can we not hear him from up there?" [Thought] Johanna couldn't help but laugh.

Johanna left her body on the table and went over to him. When she reached him, she put her hand on his face, making him stop snoring and leaving a beautiful smile on his face.

"Why are you alone?" [Thought] Johanna lets out a heavy sigh "We're not going to abandon you, you're already part of the family one way or another." [Thought] Johanna ends her thoughts by kissing Lucas on the cheek.

Picking up his body, she went up to her room and lay down on the bed, unable to stop thinking about how much happier her daughter had become since Lucas arrived, and also noticing the clear signs they were seeing from her daughter.

Johanna had a smile on her face as she began to try to sleep "My Hilda having someone to love" [Thought] Soon he fell asleep.

A long way from the hut the creature was sensibly looking for any trace of the human with the strange ability, his heavy footsteps were the only noise in the dark forest, a troll came to see what was going on, the troll ran up and challenged the creature.

"Stupid troll" [Thought] The creature pulls in as much air as it can and throws a concentrated fireball at the troll.

When the ball hit the troll, the explosion could be heard from afar. Jorgen, who was passing by talking to Hilda, who had landed on his ear, heard the noise, but he decided to ignore it.

When the dust cleared, they could see what was left of the troll. The explosion had been so violent that it had completely destroyed the creature.

"Pathetic being, you're no match for me, now I won't feel it anymore" The angry being began to walk back to its lair.

The creature couldn't calm down, it was too angry. Soon morning came and Johanna was with Hilda and Lucas in the car going to Trolberg.

"That's interesting, it says here that they built Trolberg in the middle of a territory belonging to the trolls," Hilda says while reading the guide.

"That's why they built the wall," Johanna says.

"Maybe if it didn't encroach on troll territory they wouldn't need the mura," Lucas debates.

Johanna and Hilda could only look at him in bewilderment - they hadn't imagined that he would think that, but on the one hand it was true.

"They must have had a reason for it," Johanna says with certainty.

When they arrived in the city, Johanna quickly parked them and Lucas began to walk. He had to be careful how he breathed, these cars gave off a lot of smoke and his heightened senses didn't help at all, Johanna noticed how totally uncomfortable he was, finally they arrived at the house that Johanna wanted to show Lucas, he realized that it was totally different from the canon.

That one is vacant, three bedrooms, parking allows animals" Johanna said, reading the article in the newspaper.

"You're kidding, we're going to be stuck in a sandwich house," Hilda said, totally annoyed.

"I have to say it's kind of nice," Lucas says sincerely, the house is light green in color.

"I thought so too" Johanna is happy to see that Lucas is tempted, even though he realizes her discomfort.

Lucas could only give a frank little smile at this, Hilda noticed this as did Johanna, then they all started walking again, Lucas kept looking around waiting for an attack, Hilda and Johanna thought he was curious about everything since he lived most of his life in the forest, Hilda took courage to take his hand so that they could walk together, this made the pair blush with embarrassment and Johanna found this extremely adorable, soon they arrived at the school.

"Here you can study, go and explore the place," Johanna said, pointing ahead.

"All right, but I'll keep an eye on you and you can stay with me." Hilda begins to walk forward, taking Lucas's hand.

Johanna looks at her daughter as she walks forward and smiles. When she looks at Lucas, she's surprised. His face shows displeasure and also concern as she looks around the school entrance as if she's looking for something.

"My senses are alerting me to something, but I don't know what it is, it smells strange in here" [Thought] Lucas thought as all his hair was being smoothed.

Suddenly the smell became stronger and his eyes were transformed. He saw a white cat near a girl. She must have been the same age as Hilda. Her hair was short and straight black, but she had a few purple strands in it. Her round face was delicate and pretty, like everyone else's. She was wearing her school clothes, when her cat brushed her leg to attract her attention, she looked at him and then turned her face to where Hilda was.

"Damn it, she saw me, I panicked, and stared too long instead of hiding." [Thought] Lucas thinks, letting out a sweat of concern.

When the girl saw Lucas, the first thing she noticed about him was his animalistic eyes, but she had to get out of the way. When the bell rang indicating that recess was over, Hilda went over to her mother, noticing Lucas staring at a young girl who was still standing with a cat.

"Rebecca, come on, you're going to be late." A boy at the door called out to the girl.

Lucas let out a sigh of relief. Hilda and Johanna could only look on curiously.

"Is everything all right, you look pale?" Johanna asked curiously.

"Not much, that boy smelled like danger," Lucas replied, letting his eyes return to normal.

That made them both curious, but soon they were walking around the city again. At school, one class was paying attention in the classroom, while a girl was staring out of the window.

"That boy could only be a reincarnate, but how could he recognize me so quickly, those eyes could be his power, I hope he's friendly" [Thought] Rebecca thought worriedly.

In the car on the way home, Lucas couldn't get that girl and her cat out of his head, a part of him knew it was that cat but he couldn't remember where he'd seen it before.

"Man, it's a bitch that I don't have my memories" [Thought] Lucas thought angrily.

"I wonder what he meant by danger" [Thought] Hilda thought looking at Lucas with a worried look.

Taking courage, Hilda went to stand next to him, leaning her head on his shoulder, making them both blush heavily. Johanna, who was watching everything from the rearview mirror, could only smile happily at this.
