26th of Mirtul - Middle of the night:
DREAM FROM MARAT
A young Eldora ties purple ribbons into her white braids. She slips into a building to hide from a group of menacing children. A young woman is giving Eldora a tour of the church buildings; hospital, morgue, and inside the temple itself… the dream blurs… The same woman is talking to a teenage Eldora. She is telling Eldora about the necromantic practices of Velsharoon. Eldora writes her name into a book the woman holds out to her. "Welcome to our fold," she says and lovingly hugs Eldora… the dream blurs… Eldora is in a cave with two bodies. She cuts out the heart of each body and replaces them with wriggling leather pouches. The bodies shrink to about two feet tall, and long claws grow from the ends of their fingers. Eldora smiles in delight, holds out her arms, and says, "I knew I could create you. Come here little ones."... the dream blurs… Eldora is with her skeleton-faced minion. It's handing her some books. Eldora is in her cave, the two small undead creatures bounce on a bed. I see my companions fighting undead surrounding us. Darkness begins creeping towards us …the dream blurs… I watch as two ghostly skeletal wings sprout from Eldora's back. Darkness spreads all around her. I'm face to face with Eldora. Radiant light erupts from within me banishing the darkness. I brandish Kelemvor's mace as the smell of brimstone penetrates the room.
I feel like everyone is pushing me to leave Waterdeep. Marat, Kelemvor, even Elanor.
Yesterday Elanor stopped by the house and urged me to continue my mission from Kelemvor. I told her I'd go soon, but I'm not ready yet.
Her answer was, "Ready or not Zira, you can not hide from your destiny."
I know I can't keep hiding away at my parent's home. I know I need to go after Eldora. From my dreams, I can see she knew what she was choosing. Just thinking about what I saw her do in my dream makes me sick. I need to rid the world of these monsters she's creating.
I know my destiny to stop Eldora's necromantic practices. Now I need to trust Kelemvor and follow my divine decree. It's time for me to leave the comfort and safety of home.

Last night I was struggling with insomnia and my thoughts wandered to Zira and her story. And the rest of the story began to unfold. I've spent the better part of today frantically writing notes, hoping I didn't forget anything because I did eventually fall asleep.
I already had parts of this chapter written, so it didn't take long to finish writing it tonight. Normally I would wait and at least reread the chapter once before posting, but I didn't want to wait. I'm too excited to FINALLY be writing for Zira again! I hope it's an ok read.
