A/N : Updates will come out once or twice a week for now, as I'm wanting to kickstart the story. After that, we'll be going down to once per week, if I manage to keep up.
Enjoy !
"Everyone, gather up for our first game of the day!" announced the pumpkin-headed guy. "Each day will be divided into two sections: events in the morning and battles in the afternoon. You won't be able to choose who will be fighting, but each team has one joker to swap one unique participant. You have full freedom to choose the event participants."
"Today's event is Hidden!"
"Hidden?" repeated Cana. "I'm guessing it's some kind of hide and seek."
"Yeah, so don't send Laxus. That muscle mountain can be seen from miles away," joked Gajeel, earning a playful bump on the head.
Laxus turned to me. "Kalen, I don't wanna push you, but you seem to be the most suited for this."
I took a deep breath. "If you need me to go, then I'll go."
"For Raven Tail, Nalpudding! For Fairy Tail A, Gray Fullbuster! And for Fairy Tail B, Kalen Ryker!" boomed the announcer.
"Kalen already?" gasped Amy.
"Gray-sama, you're the best!" beamed Juvia.
Gray approached me, stretching his fist out. "I won't go easy on you, Kal," he said with a smirk.
I returned it, bumping his fist with mine. "Me neither."
"What in the world..." I muttered as I found myself teleported into a fully built city. "Is this all done with magic? This is insane."
I wandered around, trying to figure out the event's objective. Suddenly, multiple figures started appearing. I took a step back, realizing they were... us. Perfect copies of our bodies and faces. It was seriously creepy.
"Let the game start! If you hit a copy, you lose a point! If you hit the correct target, you win a point and they lose one! Good luck!" the announcer boomed.
A loud sound signaled the start of the game.
"Let's hope he quickly finds a good strategy," said Gajeel.
"Don't worry about him," Mira replied, eyes glued on to my performance.
Amy and the others watched in silence as the event began.
I started walking down the streets, matching the pace of the copies to blend in. "I need to find something, some way to identify people," I thought, before hearing a massive explosion nearby. I stayed focused, ignoring it.
"And Gray from Fairy Tail has just lost a point!" the announcer's voice echoed.
I swallowed hard. Gray had already been hit. I continued wandering, searching for a solution when my instincts kicked in. "Behind," I whispered to myself, quickly turning on my heels. But it was too late—I was smashed into the ground by the Raven Tail mage.
"Fairy Tail B also loses a point! Raven Tail scores 2 by taking out both of their mages!"
Rubbing the sore spot after being teleported back, I growled, "That bastard." The spiky purple guy had targeted us immediately. Turning into another street, I spotted Yeager and Beth starting a fight.
Perfect opportunity to snag two easy points. I kept my pace, blending in. Just as they engaged, I unleashed "Sunflare Strike.", slamming my Katana in the ground, the wave of solar energy caught them by surprise, sending both flying down the street.
"And Kalen Ryker scored 2 points! Fairy Tail B is now in third place with 1 point!"
"Let's go, Kalen!" yelled Amy, her face lighting up.
"Good job, kid," Laxus whispered from the team balcony, a proud smile on his face.
Before I could even celebrate, I sensed another presence.
"Hey, isn't that little flower's friend?" Lyon smirked, stepping into view.
I immediately took a fighting stance. "I'm sorry," Lyon added, "but I need points! Ice Make: Eagles!"
His spell rushing towards me, Nalpudding from Raven Tail cut him short, crashing down on me, taking me out first.
I groaned, my face pressed against the cold ground.
"That bastard is focusing on us!" yelled Natsu from the sidelines. "He had a better chance of taking out Lyon!"
Gray had understood that perfectly already. "And 3 points in one attack for Eve Tilm!" the announcer's voice echoed.
"Tsch," Gray muttered, "Still have -2 for me. Even Kalen has positive points."
Just as he said that, he came across Eve, catching him by surprise.
"And one point for Fairy Tail A! But wait, Rufus from Sabertooth still hasn't moved!"
And that was true. Rufus finally revealed himself, standing on top of a building. "I remember everything. Every single movement, and heartbeat," he chuckled. "Let's start playing, Star Rain!"
He cast the spell, sending out seven beams of magical light. What shocked us all was the directions—they were all heading towards us, rushing through the copies.
My eyes widened as I braced for impact.
"And Rufus scored 7 points in one unique attack! This is Sabertooth!" the announcer exclaimed, making the crowd go wild.
"And this event is over! Sabertooth gets 10 points for winning! Fairy Tail, however, is stuck at the bottom, scoring 1 point for Fairy Tail B, and 0 for Fairy Tail A!"
I breathed heavily, the commentator's words sinking in. We scored one point, with two teams. That's all. As I caught my breath, the entire city vanished, leaving us back in the basic arena.
I couldn't believe it. One single point, gathered by Gray and me. I know I'm far from being the best, but Gray is strong. And still, we didn't score more than a single point.
Amy was tearing up, watching Gray and me lower our heads after that humiliation.
Gray walked straight to the exit, whispering a swift "Sorry" to his team as he passed them.
"Hey, it's fine, Kalen. You still scored a point," I heard, before seeing a hand reach out for me.
"Raven Tail..." I whispered, earning a surprised look from Mira, who was standing in front of me. "I swear I'll make them pay," I said, my eyes filled with anger.
"With that done, it is now time for our first fight!" beamed the announcer. "And we'll be starting hot, with Flare from Raven Tail!"
The crowd erupted in cheers as Flare made her way into the arena.
"And to face her, please welcome Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail A!"
"Give them hell, Lucy!" roared Natsu.
As Lucy entered the arena, the tension was palpable. Flare, with her dark red hair and fierce expression, looked ready to crush her opponent.
"Start!" yelled the announcer.
The battle began with Flare using her Crimson Hair, manipulating her long locks like deadly tendrils. Lucy quickly summoned Taurus, who charged at Flare with his massive axe. Flare's hair whipped around, blocking Taurus's attack and sending him flying.
"Come on, Lucy!" yelled Natsu, his fists clenched.
Lucy called forth Scorpio, who unleashed a torrent of sand, temporarily pushing Flare back. But Flare's hair snaked through the ground, wrapping around Lucy's legs and smashing her to the ground.
"You're going to regret facing me," Flare sneered.
Just when it seemed like Lucy was gaining the upper hand, she suddenly stopped fighting back. It was as if she was asking to be beaten up by Flare. From the balcony, I couldn't take it anymore. My hands gripped the edge, nearly cracking the stone.
"I swear those bastards are gonna pay," I growled, noticing Natsu sprinting toward Fairy Tail's spectators' balcony. "Huh?"
As he reached it, he grabbed the hair threatening Asuka and burned it down. "Don't underestimate my hearing," he said. "Lucy, you're good!" he yelled.
At those words, Lucy finally counterattacked, taking Flare by surprise.
"Time to end this," she said, summoning Gemini.
"Let's do it, Gemini," she exclaimed.
"Are you sure, Lucy?" they both asked.
"Yes, just do it!" she answered, watching them transform into her, standing back to back, their hands intertwining.
"Survey the heavens, open the heavens... All the stars, far and wide, show me their appearance... With such shine. O Tetrabiblos... I am the ruler of the stars... Aspects became complete... Open thy malevolent gate. O 88 Stars of the heaven... Shine!" chanted Lucy and Gemini.
The sky above the arena darkened as the 88 constellations appeared, their light gathering around Lucy. She aimed at Flare, releasing the gathered energy in a tremendous attack.
Flare couldn't move, completely paralyzed.
"URANO METRIA!" yelled Lucy, unleashing her attack, sending a powerful burst of magic her way. But before it could hit Flare, it stopped. Everything disappeared, and Lucy fell to the ground, exhausted and out of energy.
"Thanks..." whispered Flare, glancing up at her balcony.
"What? Something happened! That's not supposed to end like that!" groaned Gray.
"Raven Tail..." growled Makarov, clearly understanding what had transpired.
"And the winner is Flare, giving 10 points to Raven Tail!" announced the commentator.
At those words, the edge finally cracked under my grip, earning a gasp from Mira. My teeth were gritted, the anger inside me reaching levels I'd never experienced before.
"Those fuckers... just canceled Lucy's magic," I growled through my clenched jaw.
From another balcony, Jura could also see justice. "I don't think this is really following the rules," he said in a serious tone. "Lucy should have won this."
We all watched as Lucy remained on the ground, fighting uncontrollable sobs, when Natsu stepped forward, gently lifting her to her feet.
"I'm so sorry, Natsu..." she sobbed.
"Hey, don't cry. It's only the first day, and those bastards just cheated. They don't deserve it. Keep your tears for the moment we'll come out on top," he said with a reassuring grin.
As we walked back to the inn, the mood was heavy. Heads hung low, we moved through the streets in silence. Some of us were still boiling with fury. Even Natsu and Gray weren't bickering, and Amy didn't even try approaching me.
But when we stepped inside, we were surprised to see Makarov sitting on the counter, a fresh beer in his hand. "Hello!" he said with genuine happiness and energy.
"We... We're sorry for this first day," growled Gray, his voice laced with frustration.
"Who cares? It's only a day. We still have four left to show them what we're made of," Master grinned back, his eyes twinkling with determination. "So take a seat and have fun for a bit."
A few tentative smiles appeared. "He's right," announced Erza, her voice strong and reassuring. "This is only the first day; we still have a lot to do and many opportunities to take those points back. So heads up, let's relax before tomorrow!" she beamed.
Amy finally approached me, her usual bright smile returning.
"We'll get them tomorrow," she said softly, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder, brushing my hair with her other hand.
I nodded, before heading upstairs. "Kalen ?" asked Amy, surprised seeing me leave already.
But I had work to do. If I wanted to kick their asses, I needed to be stronger. And I needed to finally understand what those notes were talking about. So I sat on my bed, crossed my legs, and started reading through the notes again.
After an hour, Natsu entered my room and said, "Hey kid."
"I'm no kid anymore" I bluntly said.
"Eh, for me you'll always be" he simply smiled. Levy talked about the notes she gave you. I'm guessing that's what you're on right now ?" he asked, receiving a nod from me.
"And still nothing, I'm guessing?" he added.
"No, still nothing. But I'm not giving up on these" I said
"Hey, have you already tried talking to your magic ?" asked Natsu.
"Talking... to my magic ?" I repeated, my eyes pulling off the papers I was holding.
"Yeah, you know, magic isn't just something we use to survive or have fun with. Everyone has his own magic, and it comes from your inner self. That makes magic alive and unique. I've always done that, and now I feel like a little voice is talking to me sometimes. It has already saved my ass multiple times already I can tell ya." he grinned.
"Talking to my magic.." I repeated once more, thoughtfully, "Thanks Natsu. Never thought about that, I'll give it a try."
"Anytime Kal', let's take a look at those notes," he said, sitting down next to me.
With his help, we crafted different theories about the symbols and words, before sleep called us.
Looking outside, I noticed it was still early morning. Surprisingly, the entire team was already up and had deserted the room. As I wandered around, getting dressed, my eyes caught on my ring. "Talking to my magic…" I whispered to myself. "I guess it can't hurt to try." I shrugged.
I stood tall, holding up my ring before calling out, "Ray? Nyx?" No answers. My arms dropped to my sides. "Yeah, what was I really thinking… I'm basically talking to myself," I sighed, stepping out of the room, unaware of the faint glow the ring emitted.
It was a beautiful day. The atmosphere was lively, the sun warming every street, blending perfectly with the fresh morning breeze.
"Kalen!" Amy called out, catching sight of me. She came running, her usual bright smile lighting up her face. Another day, another dress—this time a pale rose one that perfectly matched her hair. She looked amazing in it. Not that I told her, though.
"Hey, Amy. You look full of energy," I noticed.
"Well, being a fan is hard work. I need to be at my best," she puffed proudly, making me chuckle.
"I guess you're right, a team is doomed without a good cheerleader," I winked at her. "Gotta run, today's event will be starting soon, and I wanted to check on Wendy before going !" I waved before heading off.
I gently pushed the door open, squeezing my way through, before hearing a cute voice. "I'm not sleeping, Kalen. You can come in."
At her words, I straightened up and met eyes with Wendy, who was sitting up in her bed. "How are you feeling, Wen?" I asked softly, sitting down on the side of the bed.
She gave a slight smile. "Better, I guess. Still a bit... surprised, I'd say. And tired."
"Yeah, they said you had a near total magic depletion. That's kinda harsh," I replied, concern evident in my voice.
Her expression shifted, worry etched into her features. "But I'm still concerned about not participating. I asked Elfman to replace me, but I can't shake off my frustration. I feel like I simply abandoned them."
I flinched, quickly taking the lead in the conversation. "Hey, hey, don't say that. You haven't abandoned anyone, Wendy. You got attacked!"
"Yeah, and I couldn't even defend myself!" she said, her voice rising slightly. "I'm sorry..." she added, lying down and turning away from me.
I smiled, setting my hand on her arm. "Everything will be fine. Rest well, and you'll come back stronger, okay?"
She simply grabbed my hand with hers. "Kalen, please make Fairy Tail strong again. You and Amy, you can do it. I know everyone is strong, but you two... You can do even more, I know it," she added, her voice just above a whisper.
Her words sank into me as I realized how much faith she had in me, in us. "I will, Wendy, I promise," I said softly, my thumb gently rubbing her hand before I took my leave.
After closing the door, my expression shifted completely. My face hardened, concentration taking over, mixed with anger and fury. "Time to show them you don't fuck around with Fairy Tail," I growled, heading for the locker rooms.
"Please tell me this is a joke," I asked with a deadpan expression.
Cana was sweating in shame, looking at the Lacrima screens. Natsu, Gajeel, and Sting were packed together, barely managing to stand.
"How in the world can you decide to send Dragon Slayers, known for their motion sickness, IN AN EVENT CALLED CHARIOTS!" I roared, starting to lose my mind.
On the Fairy Tail spectator balcony, everyone shared the same thought, grimacing as they watched the three boys struggle.
"Looks like Fairy Tail and Sabertooth aren't in love with moving objects!" beamed the announcer. "But for now, Natsu Dragneel is on his way to score 2 points, followed by Gajeel Redfox !"
"Y'know what, I'll leave you these points," grimaced Sting, hopping off, visibly looking green.
"Don't come crying if you lose by a single point," smirked Gajeel, literally crawling on the ground.
"I don't even understand why you're fighting so hard," teased Sting.
"For our friends," growled Natsu, making slow but sure progress. "We don't care what people think about us. We don't care what they say. We're not fighting for them. We're fighting for everyone who waited for us, everyone who kept their hopes high, who didn't leave and kept smiling!" Natsu roared, his voice carrying across the arena as the crowd listened intently. "We fight for everyone who lost seven fucking years—Gray, Erza, Lucy, and all the others. But also for Macao, Wakaba, Kalen, Amy, and everyone who stayed alone for SEVEN FUCKING LONG YEARS. That's why we fight!" he yelled, his passionate words making the crowd go wild. Some people even cried, moved by his speech.
But that wasn't counting us in. Every single Fairy Tail mage was flooded with tears, emotions overflowing as Natsu's words resonated deep within us.
"That's Natsu for ya," whispered Mira, her finger wiping a tear under her eye.
My fists clenched, tears freely flowing down my cheeks. "Natsu..." I whispered, "I'll fight as well, I swear."
"And it's done! Fairy Tail A comes in 6th, and Fairy Tail B in 7th position, scoring 2 and 1 points respectively! For this event, Sabertooth doesn't score any!" announced the commentator, his voice echoing through the arena.
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, respecting our mages determination.
"For now, Fairy Tail is stuck at the bottom of the leaderboard, both teams sitting with 7 points! Leading the pack, we have Lamia Scale and Sabertooth, both boasting 20 points, and at the top, it's RavenTail with 26!" a voice boomed, announcing the standings.
"And now, for our afternoon combat! Please welcome Elfman and Bacchus!" the announcer roared, his voice echoing through the speakers as both fighters walked toward the center of the arena.
"Bacchus..." whispered Erza. "He's not going to go easy on him."
"You know him?" asked Gray, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes. And he can totally hold his own against me," she answered.
"Seems you have two pretty sisters, big guy," teased Bacchus. "How about this: If I win, I get one night with both of them," he smirked.
"You can always dream about it. And you won't win either," spat Elfman.
"FIGHT!" yelled the pumpkin-headed man.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Before I even could cheer for him, Elfman was down, not having hit Bacchus a single time. His movements seemed completely random, but it was clear they weren't, seeing Elfman's state.
"If you lose..." Elfman tried to say, slowly getting up, "your guild will be called Quatro Puppy until the end of the games."
Bacchus laughed heartily. "You've got guts, gotta admit, I love that," he said before grabbing his bottle.
"This isn't good," announced Erza, clenching her fists.
But as Bacchus launched, hitting Elfman in a blink with several precise and powerful strikes, his eyes widened when he saw damage to his hands. "Wha-?"
Turning our gaze toward Elfman, meeting his Lizardman Beast Soul transformation, we quickly understood his strategy.
"He's out of his mind!" yelled Amy. "How can he think about doing this?"
"Go for it, big guy..." whispered Evergreen, not missing a single piece of the fight.
And then a non-stop exchange of blows began. "Let's see who will fall first, my body or your hands," smiled Elfman, motioning Bacchus to charge again.
"Don't miss a single piece of this fight, everyone," said Macao, concentrating on the unfolding scene.
Bacchus was unleashing hell on Elfman, and Elfman was doing his best to resist. After what felt like an eternity, they both stopped, Elfman losing his transformation and Bacchus dropping to his knees.
"Is it... over?" I asked.
But Bacchus swiftly got back up, laughing. It was over. He had lost his fight, frustration and sadness filling up everyone. Until, "Elfman, right ?" Bacchus asked, "I was wrong about you" he added before collapsing on his back, exhausted, "You're a man, and a real one"
"And Bacchus is down, out of energy! I proclaim Elfman, winner!" beamed the announcer. "Fairy Tail A scores 10 points, climbing to 12 total!"
At that moment, Elfman roared through the arena, his voice echoing against the walls and sending a shiver down my spine. What he had just accomplished was unreal.
"I must admit, I underestimated you, Elfman," announced Erza, holding a bright smile. "And for that, I'm very sorry. Your fight was incredible, giving us the power and motivation we all needed."
"Yeah, you really gave it all down there," added Gray, eyes fixed on the mummified Elfman, lying down on his infirmary bed. Wendy had completely healed up, standing next to him.
"Oh come on, hearing you feels like you're talking to a dead man. Wendy, I won't be able to do anything for a while. Mind taking your spot back?" Elfman asked.
"Absolutely! You can count on me!" she beamed.
"It's time for Mira to fight, you should go now," said Porlyusica.
The fight between Mira and Jenny was... special, in a way. After showing off outfits after outfits, making both the girls and boys join the arena, they finally settled on the final duel: fighting outfits. And, well, it's Mira. She used her Satan Soul transformation, taking out Jenny in a single strike and earning 10 points for Fairy Tail B.
As night fell, I walked back to the inn, frustration climbing inside me.
"What now, Kalen?" pouted Amy, reading me like an open book.
"I wanna crush them. Spending a day without taking action is killing me," I growled.
"Relax, you'll have more opportunities. I know you only wanna be brave in front of all the pretty girls in the crowd," she said, poking my cheek.
"Yeah, like that's what I care about," I said with a deadpan expression.
We stopped in our tracks when we were met with Yukino, the Sabertooth mage, who had just lost against Kagura.
"Hello. I need to talk to you, please," she asked slowly.
After letting her in, we settled in a room, waiting for an explanation.
"What do you want from us?" growled Natsu, as I held my katana on my shoulder, right behind him.
"I-I just want to talk about something, I mean no harm," she stammered, but that didn't help calm either of us down. At least Amy did, bonking our heads before pulling us away. "Put that katana away or I'll stick it somewhere else," she gritted her teeth at me.
"So, what is this all about?" asked Lucy, curious, her eyes landing on two keys Yukino laid on the table.
"I want you to have my keys. Now that I'm not a part of Sabertooth anymore, you need to gather the 12 of them," she said bluntly.
"B-but..." Lucy stammered, "I can't take your keys! What about your spirits?"
"You're not from Sabertooth anymore?" Wendy repeated, surprised.
"Yes, it's... a long story. And I'm very sad knowing I have to be separated from them... but this is the best thing to do."
After a few negotiations, Lucy finally announced, "I'm sorry, but I can't. Thank you, though," she said, smiling.
Yukino stood up. "It's fine, I was expecting that answer from you anyway. Thank you for your time," she said before leaving.
On her way back to wherever she was going, she heard steps running towards her. Turning around, she was met with Natsu and I, both of us looking slightly nervous under the bright moon.
"Hey, uh... We're sorry for the way we acted back then. You're a cool girl, actually," grinned Natsu, shoving his elbow into my ribs.
"Ow!" I coughed. "Yeah, sorry about that."
"Because you're from Sabertooth, Natsu and Kalen thought you were just like the others. They really misjudged," added Happy.
"And that's why I came back, Happy!" said Natsu.
Yukino's face darkened. "You came back... only for that?"
"Well, you seemed kinda sad when you left, and I was like, yeah maybe it's our fault," Natsu said sheepishly, giving me another elbow shot.
"Yeah, I misjudged too," I added.
But she suddenly started crying.
"Natsu, code red, I have no clue what to do right now," I said nervously, but looking at him, I quickly realized he didn't have any more ideas than I did.
She then collapsed to her knees, and Natsu and I exchanged looks of fear, both of us clueless about how to handle the situation.
"Nobody... has ever been this nice to me..." she finally sobbed.
"We... have been nice?" I exclaimed, earning another, deserved, elbow shot from Natsu.
"I've always wanted to be a Sabertooth member... and last year, I finally achieved my goal. But tonight, I'm officially banned, without permission to even step inside..." she continued sobbing, "All that... because of one loss.. They decided to expel me from the guild... I've been humiliated in front of everyone, and I even had to erase my own guild emblem myself.."
We were completely stunned by her words.
"I was so ashamed... Every memory, every single thing, shattered in one single day... And now, the best part is I don't even have a place to go or stay..." she continued.
I felt the temperature rise, my eyes locking onto Natsu. Gritting his teeth, he said, "I'm really sorry. I don't know how things work in other guilds. However... A guild where people don't respect their own friends, isn't a real guild" he roared furiously. "Kalen, with me." he said, before passing by Yukino, gently patting her head.
I swiftly followed, already knowing the plan.
"What the hell is going on down there?" asked Rogue, getting out of bed.
"Apparently, we have an intruder, but with the entire guild downstairs, I doubt he cares much about his life," Sting shot back, rushing out.
Reaching downstairs, they gasped as the main door erupted in flames, sending a few members flying across the room.
"I'm here for your master," growled Natsu, knocking out a few more. "WHERE IS HE?"
"Are you sure you're really looking for me, you insect?" boomed an imposing figure, approaching.
"So you're the boss? Seems you like kicking people out just because they lost once. Let's play a little game. If I crush you right here, right now, you get your ass out of this guild," Natsu smirked, his fists engulfed in flames.
"For real, kid? You really wanna go with me?"
"Hell yeah, I do. A guild that doesn't respect its own members simply disgusts me," spat Natsu.
Is he really talking about Yukino? thought Rogue, nervously.
"Yeah, you're already tiring me. Dobengal, get rid of him." On his words, a ninja-styled mage appeared next to him.
"Activate, Nyx," I whispered behind Natsu.
"With pleasure," answered Dobengal, "You won't approach—" but he was cut short, feeling a presence behind him. His gaze fell on the glowing moonlight blade, mounted by a crescent moon guard, sitting right under his throat.
"Don't even think about moving," I whispered in his ear.
"H-how did you—nobody can out-stealth me!" he growled.
"Let's just say you focused too much on what was in front of you."
I didn't even see that guy move, or even him being here, thought Sting, sweating.
I nodded towards Natsu, who rushed forward, his focus unwavering. He unleashed a barrage of flaming blows on Sabertooth's master. People could only watch as Natsu went all out. He stepped back, igniting his fist in fire and electricity. "Fire and Thunder Hammer!" he yelled, unleashing a final blow that sent a huge shockwave, shattering windows and scattering debris.
But when the dust cleared, a dark-haired woman stood between the master and Natsu, her presence canceling his magic effortlessly.
"Minerva?" exclaimed the master.
"Party's over," she said with a smile.
"Yeah? And what if I say it's not?" Natsu shot back.
"Let's make a deal. Let us save our reputation, and you'll be free to leave," she smirked, using her magic to make Happy appear, completely tied up.
At that sight, I swiftly retrieved my daggers from Dobengal's throat before retreating next to Natsu, canceling my magic and making my daggers disappear.
"You can choose whatever you want, but if you want to see your little blue cat in one piece, you'd better accept," she added.
"Happy!" yelled Natsu.
"I'm sorry, Natsu, they caught me outside," cried Happy.
Natsu finally released his fury, showing his acceptance. Minerva released Happy, who ran straight to him.
"I'm sorry, Happy. Let's get going, okay?" said Natsu with a soft smile. "Let's go, Kal'."
I nodded, turning on my heels.
"That kid has guts. Provoking me like that," said Sabertooth's master. "And the other one... Taking Dobengal by surprise is something I've never experienced"
"Let it slip. We'll see them in the arena," smirked Minerva.
I stopped in my tracks, watching Natsu walk towards the exit. Turning my head over my shoulder, I bluntly said, "I don't give a damn about your threats. Don't even think about beating, or breaking even with us," my eyes showing pure confidence.
Natsu also looked over his shoulder. "When we're a guild, we respect our own members. That's why I came here," he said. Both of us finally exited the building.
