He woke up Friday morning in a daze, but with a plan, thanks to his two friends.

Mike and Rachel came to the condo at 5pm, their excitement bubbling over, as Harvey kissed Rosie goodbye and handed her off.

"Dad finally got his shi- stuff together," Mike whispered to Rosie, who was curled up in Rachel's arms.

Harvey rolled his eyes, but deep down he was grateful for the kid who pushed him to get where he needed to. Between Mike and Rosie, that duo deserved all the credit.

"Thank you guys for watching her, I don't think it will be too late."

"Take allllll the time you need," Rachel said with a smile.

Donna heard a familiar knock on her door. She didn't have to check to see who it was, but she hurried to open it, confused as to why –

When she opened the door, she froze. Harvey was standing in the hall with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine, looking at her in a way she couldn't quite identify. His brown eyes looked like they were going to explode with emotion. Fear, anxiety, hunger.

"Harvey, what are you doing here? Is Rosie okay – "she trailed off, his eyes digging through hers.

"Can I come in?"

She silently stepped back from the door to allow him to enter.

Handing her the flowers, he wrapped an arm around her, pressing a kiss to her temple, as he moved towards the kitchen to open the wine.

She inhaled sharply at the feeling of his lips on her skin. What the fuck is happening, she thought to herself, as her gaze followed him across the room.

"Harvey, what are you –" she could barely speak.

Without a word, he brought two glasses of wine over to the coffee table. He walked back over to Donna, and taking her hand, guided her over to the couch.

They sat in silence for a moment, his thumb slowly caressing the back of her hand.

He took a deep breath and started, "This has been one of the most challenging weeks of my life. I'll never be able to thank you enough for being there for me while I dealt with becoming a father," he paused. "You've been by my side through every good and bad day that I've had; for you to be there for me, and even more so for my daughter…" he trailed off, shaking his head. "I missed you these last few days; I always hate when you're not around, but this was different. She missed you too, Donna; she loves you. I love you," the last sentence barely above a whisper.

Donna couldn't breathe; her eyes, filling with tears, remained locked in on the man that sat across from her.

Taking both hands in his, Harvey continued, "I told you a long time ago that I didn't want to find out what kind of lawyer I'd be without you. 12 years later, I'm absolutely certain that I don't want to find out what kind of parent I'll be without you. I'm sorry it took Rosie coming into my life to realize that I want to do it all with you. All of it. You've always been the most important person in my life; I just couldn't see that you were the missing piece to everything all along."

"Harvey…" she started, "are you sure?" her voice barely a whisper, "It's not just us we have to think about…"

"I know," he cut in, "and I'm so sorry that I didn't figure it out in time for it to be just the two of us before she came along. But Donna, if she can't be raised by her biological mother, there is no one else on this earth that I would want her to have as her mom."

Tears fell from Donna's eyes, as she tried to find words to respond.

"We've always been family, but if it's okay with you, I think its time for us to start our own. The three of us," with a smirk, adding, "and anyone else who might come along - "

Her lips were on his before he could finish the thought.

It wasn't the same passionate kissing as the other time, but a moment of heartfelt love between two people who were finally where they were supposed to be.

When Donna pulled back, Harvey gave her his signature smile. "I take it you're down for that?"

Donna laughed, "Very much so. I love you, Harvey. Thank you."

"I should be the one thanking you," he brushed his thumb across her cheek.

"Can we go get her?" Donna asked, wanting to squeeze the little girl she'd missed so much, the one who was responsible for Harvey's realization.

Harvey smiled, pulling Donna back into a kiss, "Later," his voice deepened, "I was thinking we could spend a little time just the two of us first.

Note: This came quicker than I originally planned, but I got tired of them being idiots. This is by no means the end of the story; very much only the beginning. Just think of it as a mid-season finale; I can't deprive myself of writing full on domestic Darvey. Thank you to everyone who stuck around for the happy ending (middle), I love you all endlessly.
