The Loud Ark: Chapter 3 - The Dream

That night, Once everyone had dinner everyone said goodnight and went to bed, Lincoln didn't go to bed at his usual time he had a strange feeling.

"How about you, Dad, and everyone else go on ahead Mom," said Lincoln as Rita yawned and kissed her son goodnight.

"Aren't you going to sleep? Remember the Curfew?" Rita asked.

"I know the Curfew Mom, I'm not feeling tired yet I think I'll go out with Tinkerbell for a bit," said Lincoln,

"Okay, We trust you, son," Said Lynn Sr. "Don't stay up too late."

Lincoln and Tinkerbell went out of the house for some fresh air which made the both of them quite sleepy so they went back inside and went to bed.

Ever since Tink moved into the fairy house Stella built, Stella and Lana built five more for her friends. One looked like it had a runway and looked a bit like an airplane hanger for Vidia, the next house had pictures of animals for Fawn, and the next house had a small pool of goldfish that Lana, Lola, and their father had put in recently and the house was a blue color like the water and had pictures of sea creatures for Silvermist, the other house had roses and flowers for Rosetta, and the last house had plenty of windows and there was even a small flashlight that was miniature to the humans, but still large to the fairies for Iridessa they were on the top of the dresser.

"It was nice for you and Lana to build these houses for us and each one of us and our talents." Said Fawn.

"I never felt more at home than ever." Added Silvermist.

"Yeah, she did a great job, goodnight, everyone." Said Lincoln got into the covers of his bed as the fairies entered their houses saying "Goodnight!" They all closed their eyes as they went to sleep.

. . . . .

That night Lincoln was happily and quietly asleep on his bed. His smile gradually shifted to a frown as he dreamt at first he was at a festival, everyone cheering for him and how special he was as Lincoln smiled with his friends and family congratulating him. There were posters, billboards, and himself on television along with merchandise. The people were cheering "Hooray for Lincoln!" Three cheers for Lincoln!" "Let's Hear it for Lincoln!" It was a dream come true that he was finally being recognized for being special as he closed his eyes.

"...Liiiiiinnnnccclllnnn..." Lincoln's eyes immediately opened. For a few seconds, all was silent and calm, yet eerie.

Again the voice spoke. "Liiiiiinnnnccclllnnn." It sounded like nothing he ever heard. He knew it was his name, but the voice was otherworldly.

It flowed through his mind like a cool breeze, yet Lincoln could sense immense power behind it, like a mighty tempest. "Huh? Who is there?" he said after he heard his name a second time.

He turned his head back and forth frantically, looking around his shack, expecting some sort of intruder. Instead, he found the opposite; it was empty. His friends, his family, and the people were all gone. Suddenly, he witnessed a massive wave of water heading towards him. He can hear the sounds of people banging on the door of something big screaming for help as the wave hits.

"Guys?! Mom?! Dad?! Lori?! Leni?! Luna?! Luan?! Lynn?! Lucy?! Lana?! Lola?! Lisa?! Lily?! Shouted Lincoln as he looked left and right as he got off the stage and saw nothing but an open field. He continued to shout for his missing family and friends.

"Clyde?! Ronnie Anne?! Sid?! Pop-Pop? Tinkerbell?! Vidia?! Silvermist?! Iridessa?! Fawn?! Rosetta?!" As he turned he saw his shack, the rocks, the trees, everything was gone. The air was misty and cool. The sky was cloudy. "Anyone!" he shouted once more. But no one responded, except Him.

"Liiiiiinnnnccclllnnn!" came the voice again, this time more intense and commanding.

"It's some voice and he knows my name," Lincoln said to himself in worry he kept looking around where the voice was coming from. "Who are you?!" Lincoln shouted in anger and desperation. "Where are you?! Show yourself?!"

Suddenly he felt a swift shaking of the ground. He looked down and saw, not dirt, but a dark mist. His feet were no longer touching any surface, but floating. He then began to feel wet, and within seconds he was surrounded by water. It didn't flood in from anywhere, it didn't rain down, and the air just morphed into an endless sea. He was unable to speak, barely able to think. Any thoughts racing through his mind were of immense confusion. As he looked down to his feet he saw figures rising from the dark. They were people, screaming, thrashing through the water, bleeding, dying. He saw animals too, rising from the deep, suffering in the silent current of death. Everywhere Lincoln looked in the strange sea he saw death. All he felt was panic. Where was he? Where was his family? Where were his friends? Where was God?

"Anybody!" He wanted to scream, but all that escaped his mouth were bubbles and a muffled roar, which was further muffled by the emerging cries of the dead that surrounded Lincoln.

He raced toward the surface, but as he swam upward it felt like he wasn't moving. As he struggled the dead continued to approach from all sides. Men, women, children, birds, beasts, all that had life were drowned, their mouths agape, horrible cries pouring from their souls. Lincoln could do nothing but watch the world he once knew sink into the chaotic mist. He continued to roar for his family and friends, waving his arms through the water in an attempt to move upward. But all was in vain. Then as he looked up, He saw a small beam of light shine through the water onto his face. Then all of a sudden, all fell silent again, and his eyes were open.

. . . . .

Shocked by this terrible nightmare, Lincoln screamed as he woke up. The six fairies jolted and yelped awake from the screaming.

"Oh Great!" groaned Vidia.

"What in Neverland?" asked Rosetta.

"Is going on in this hour?" added Fawn.

"It's Lincoln!" Replied Tinkerbell.

"What happened to him?" wondered Silvermist.

"It must be a Nightmare?!" replied Iridessa.

He looks around and finds that he is still in his bedroom as Tinkerbell and her friends leave their fairy houses. He got up from the bed and walked over to the window. He looked outside and saw a warm sunrise in a clear, orange sky.

"Oh man, what a nightmare." sighed Lincoln.

"What's wrong Link?" asked Tinkerbell.

Then his ten sisters burst into his room.

"Lincoln, we heard you screaming," said Lori.

"There, there, Lily's kisses will make you feel better." Said the second eldest sister Leni as she held Lily to kiss Lincoln on the forehead.

"Lincoln! What in Neverland has gotten into you?!" Rosetta said as she flew to Lincoln.

But he just stood silent, his head turned to the yellow-orange morning sky, but he wasn't looking at the sky. He was trying to look into his mind, at what he saw.

"Did you have some kind of dream, Lincoln?" Lisa said, concerned about why her older brother was acting his way.

Slowly Lincoln lowered his head and sighed "Yes… But not just a dream."

"What do you mean it was not just a dream bra?" Said Luna.

"Maybe I should bring out my Dream Machine," Lisa said, hoping to know what happened.

"No Lisa," said Lincoln. "It was not just a dream...It was more, I could feel it. Everything. It felt real. As real as now, maybe even more."

"Lincoln, you aren't making any sense!" shouted Lori.

"Why won't you just tell us?!" Said Tinkerbell as her face turned red in anger and frustration.

"Linky Tell us!" Said Lola and Lana.

"Stinkoln, Tell us what happened?" said Lynn.

"Is it a Nightmare?" asked Lucy.

"Say it don't spray it?!" Said Luan, "It was more of a nightmare was it?"

"Wincoln?" Whimpered Lily.

"Just tell us Linky was it a dream?" Said Leni.

"It wasn't just a dream. It can't be." Lincoln began to mumble to himself as he made a revelation. "It can't be! Please, no it can't be!"

"What is the matter, Lincoln? You're scaring us!" Silvermist cried.

Tears began to fall from her eyes, the same with the girls. Lincoln turned around to face them.

"It doesn't hurt to try." Said Tinkerbell, "Please, Lincoln. Tell us what happened. In your...dream?"

Tinkerbell hesitated to say the word, as Lincoln was assuring himself it was no dream. His face fell still for a few seconds, his eyes wide open as he put together the pieces in his mind. All the girls saw on his face was horror. She knew this was not good.

"You don't have to tell us?" Said Iridessa.

"Besides, It's okay to let it out if you want," Fawn replied.

"You're having us worried," Said Vidia,

"It's okay sugar if you don't want to?" added Rosetta.

"Well..." he started, wanting to tell her what happened but not wanting to revisit the horror any further. But he knew he had to. "I woke, there was a festival with everyone cheering and congratulating me, you were all in it, and then I heard a strange voice calling my name as he knows me. I saw our home was empty. Everyone and all of you had disappeared. I heard the voice again. I saw a massive wave of water heading towards me as I heard the sounds of people banging on the door of something big screaming for help. Our house was gone, and so was everything. The voice kept calling my name, I tried to answer it, tried to find where it came from, but I saw no one. Then all of a sudden, the wave hit me and I was surrounded by water. It came out of nowhere, no rain, it just appeared. And from the bottom, from the dark...death."

The girls gasped except Lucy. "Death? What do you mean?" Tinkerbell asked.

Lincoln was still numb for a moment, it took a second for him to answer his fairy friend and continued, "From the darkness of the bottom, came dead things. The bodies of men, women, children, birds, and beasts, were all just floating dead in the water. From their mouths escaped cries of pain. It was unbearable!" Tears were flowing silently down his face now. "Death...and water. Death BY water!"

"Okay, You got me at the part with the dead bodies of humans and animals floating, but by water?" Said Lucy.

"What does that mean? Death by water?" Silvermist was confused and frightened by Lincoln's expression of discovery. Lincoln was still upset and sad he started crying as his sisters and fairies hugged him in comfort.

"Lincoln, please tell us! Who is telling you this" Replied Lori.

"Girls...It's God, Aslan. The Creator. It's Him." said Lincoln.

"Wha...What about Him?" Lori replied. "What about God?"

"He is speaking to me" He answered.

"What is he saying?" Tinkerbell asked. Lincoln's face fell once more in despair. He knew what to say, but every part of his body was pained to say it. When the words did escape his mouth, he fell backward and lost consciousness. Lucky Luna and Leni caught him and he said these words.

"He is going to destroy the world."

Lincoln had a vision that Asian the Great Lion God the Creator of Heaven and Earth was going to judge the world destroying every living thing by punishing them with water.

"Ain't that just a prophecy? That Great Grandpa Enoch always keeps saying?" Asked Luna.

"I spoke to his spirit" Added Lucy. "And he did say it is going to happen, But never said when."

"Well, if everyone died and you saw it you were alive right?" asked Lori.

"I was alive God wants to spare me from the disaster," replied Lincoln.

"But what about us?" asked Lana.

"I don't know?" replied Lincoln.

"It was just a dream, wasn't it?" added Leni.

"No Leni, I think there is more to this I just know it!" said Lincoln.

This left his sisters and the fairies with worried looks. Lincoln had a vision from god. They were unsure whether to believe him or not. Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. There was no other option but to destroy all that God created. He will bring punishment upon the earth, but only a lucky few like Lincoln will be saved. But Lincoln needs to know what the dream means.
