The Loud Ark - Chapter 7: The City of Sin

The Next Day Lincoln showed his sisters and fairies the blueprint he designed for the ark Aslan told him to build. The Blueprints describe the Ark's length and width, interior, materials required, The three decks, Window, door, rooms Stalls, cages, and pens.

"So this is the blueprint I have of the ark," said Lincoln. "The ark must be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high."

"Whoa! What's a cubit?" asked. Leni for Lisa to ask.

"A measure of length, approximately equal to the length of a forearm, typically about 18 inches or 44 cm," said Lisa as she typed down on her calculator. "In modern standards, the ark is to be four hundred and fifty feet long, seventy-five feet wide, and forty-five feet high."

"In English?" said Lynn Jr.

"It's going to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high," Lincoln explained. "In other words, it's gonna be big and wide."

"I never literally realized how big it would be," said Lori. "Especially something as large as this?!"

"It has to be big to hold the supplies, food, ourselves, and the community," replied Lincoln.

"You mean people we know, Dude?" asked Luna.

"Only those who believe with good hearts and have faith in god will come aboard," replied Lincoln.

"And those who don't?" asked Lola.

"Well, They get the Axe!" joked Luan.

"In a way doom to a Watery Grave!" added Lucy.

"A Watery grave?!" cried Lana and Lola.

"But we'll be saved you two," said Lincoln reassuring.

"So it's just us and the people right?" asked Lynn Jr.

"Almost, the ark also must be big to hold the animals," replied Lincoln.

"That's not so bad taking some animals on board including our pets?" asked Lana.

"Technically we're not bringing some animals aboard, he means "All the Animals!" replied Fawn.

"All of them?! including the wild animals, birds, and every creeping crawly?!" asked Lana

"Yes, All of them Lana to save their lives along with ours," said Lincoln

"Oh my!" Said the twins in unison.

"I'm a bit creeped out by the creepy crawlies like the bugs," said Lola.

"And don't get me started on spiders," Leni said in fear for she and Lynn Sr. both have a fear of spiders.

"Link, we're simple kids, we know nothing of the wild beasts in the fields." Said Lynn Jr.

"And not to mention gathering all of them will be hard and dangerous. The Animals are spread out everywhere on the earth and live in areas we don't know existed," added Lisa.

"Well, Lana, our queen of risks, can handle that along with Fawn," said Lincoln. "They align with Sid and Adelaide can handle that part."

"And don't worry, we don't have to go out to gather them," said Fawn. "Because Aslan is gonna bring the animals all to us, Two of each, a Male and a Female, Everything that creeps, crawls, walks, and flies is coming aboard."

"And what Wood we do for Wood?!" joked Luan.

"There is a forest of cypress trees close by where we live that we'll cut down to make timber to build the ark," said Lincoln. "So we got everything planned."

"Kids!" Shouted Lynn Sr. "It's Time to Go!"

The Loud Kids and fairies rushed out of the house and onto the family's van. Soon they were driving to the City of Enoch. It was in the land of Nod where Cain was exiled to and named the city after his firstborn son and it was a bittersweet visit.

. . . . .

The Louds went to the city to purchase and collect supplies that they needed to build the Ark. They brought with them large bags of freshly grown crops ready to be exchanged. Upon entering the city, they saw what they would see with each visit: The rich taunting and mistreating the poor, Young people mugging an old man, Thieves stealing from a local vendor, a greedy proprietor swindling a customer, gamblers betting fortunes and cheating at dice games, bigger people physically beating little people, men being sold like cattle as slaves in the marketplace, and all in the name of the city's ruler and self-appointed savior, Jafar.

"Oh My!" exclaimed Tinkerbell.

"Such Anarchy!" commented Rita.

"Don't pay attention to them," said Lynn Sr. "Remember kids, Keep your eyes on them they might be up to something and we don't want you to follow their example no matter how much fun you think it is?!"

Iridessa covered her eyes at the sight while the Loud Kids nodded and suddenly the van braked when a man was walking by in front of them.

"Hey! Watch where you going you fool! I'm walking here!" shouted the Man.

The family usually paid no mind to the many acts of wickedness happening all around them. No one would listen to reason, no matter how much they might plead for them to remember the Lord's way. Lincoln felt bad for the people despite their sin and mistreatment towards him and his family. For he knew that they would be doomed.

They arrived at a warehouse vendor to gather tools and supplies. The family went through the aisles getting saws, pegs, nails, hammer mallets, etc. Lincoln came upon a book with a note saying"This would be your guide -A"

The Book was titled "Ark Building for Dummies" which was on the shelf, who would make this book Aslan perhaps?

"Well, I'm gonna get this," said Lincoln as he picked it from the shelf.

The Family brought their stuff to the vendor who said "That's a lot of stuff, What are you building?"

"A big project," lied Lynn Sr. They can't let people know about the ark or they'll be laughed at out of the City. "Very top secret."

"What kind of a project? A tall building, Another house, or A palace?" asked the Vendor.

"Yeah, Something like that," said Lynn Sr.

After purchasing, they all left as Lincoln read the book thoroughly. They agreed not to mention the ark to anyone else and went about their business exchanging their bags of potatoes, corn, and other produce for rope, pegs, and other building tools.

Unbeknownst to them, a red and blue feather parrot named Iago, Jafar's trusted servant and adviser was listening while perched on the roof of one of the buildings was watching them and noticed the book's cover.

"Hmmm, so what's this boy got here?" Iago asked himself.

"This book could be helpful to save everyone from the flood," Lincoln said to himself.

"A Flood he says?!" Said Iago. "But there has never been a drop of rain around here for years. Jafar must know about this."

. . . . .

Iago flies off to speak with Governor Jafar at the palace in the center of the city. Jafar is in his worship hall, on his knees in a worship position to one of their false idol gods, surrounded by candles. His inner turmoil causes him to fidget incessantly as he speaks in faint words. A very faint flapping sound in the distance does not help matters. Eventually, he turns around. "Would whoever is making that flapping sound, quiet down!"

Once it was silent, Satisfied, Jafar resumed his prayers until suddenly Iago flew in right in front of him as he landed on his cobra staff, Jafar Scowling got up to see who it was.

"Jafar!" shouted Iago as Jafar sighed annoyingly.

"This better be good, Iago, you're disrupting my worshipping prayers," said Jafar.

"It's like this," Iago began to explain what happened. "You see this boy, The white-haired one that people love to mock and throw tomatoes at him for his preachings? I saw him again. He has fairies with him and he and his family enter the city to get supplies, he was reading this book about building arks. And said, "There is going to be a flood?!" I don't know why?! perhaps he thinks in his little head of his believing that the world is going to end!"

"A flood? Building arks? The world coming to an end?" replied Jafar.

"Yes, and he thinks that this so-called Lion god told him this!" said Iago. "What nonsense is he going on about? Does he still believe in Aslan?" (Laughs) "That so-called all-mighty god has not come in our hour of need, and is nothing but a coward hiding among the clouds and skies!"

"Lincoln Noah is of no concern to me," Jafar replied. "As long as that boy doesn't step one foot to defy in my city, he is harmless. I don't believe this boy is telling lies about the world coming to an end and he could become a problem."

"What must I do Jafar?" asked Iago.

"For now, I want you to spy on the family and see what they're up to," Jafar Replied. "If they get out of line, inform me at once. Also, take some men with you to cause some delays if you like."

"Of course, my lordship, I mean, your governorship," said Iago

"Excellent!" exclaimed Jafar.

This could be a problem for Lincoln and his family. Jafar is the embodiment of leading the people of the world into following the way of their ancestor before them Cain. He is planning to do something to stop Lincoln's influence and to prevent him from finishing god's plan.
